My neighborhood cinema. Reliable, close, always has the big box movies. They occasionally hold community events as well with a free movie, some food etc. On Tuesdays, it's 5 bucks, which isn't so bad. I typically have deals which gets me 2 tickets for $7 on a Tuesday at SilverCity, but this location wins for me. I think I like cozier, smaller theatres anyway.

Great theatre and low cost compared to others. There's screen are big enough, the seats are comfortable and the large popcorn has one free refill and isn't too expansive.

Small and cozy theatres with reclining seats and food court next to it. First choice for theatres and recommend it for small children opposed to large theatres. Entrance 1 has stairs that go straight down to it. Plus there was coat check at the mall entrance which made it much easier.

The absolute best movie theatre I have ever been to. The seats are incredibly comfortable and spacious. You have your own foot rests and you never argue for arm space. And the price is lower than most theatres, but it plays the same blockbusters as everywhere else.

Imagine has done a wonderful job since taking over Rainbow Cinemas. They overhauled the cinemas, including the changing the old chairs to better than most home Lazy' Boy recliners. Wide, leather electric recliners. A business that actually reduced seating - moved away from the "packem'in" business model for the comfort and customer service business model. I waited months for admissision prices to rise to compensate for the lower revenue, due the less seats and increased capital cost. Yet it hasn't happened for well over a year maybe two years. Imagine show all the new films. They dont have as many movie options as a Cineplex Silvercity. However, what they do, they do well. Show the movies you want to see in far more comfort than you can "imagine", at an admission rate far less than the Silvercity. ALWAYS my first choice. If they had the larger number of theatres, showing the same movie at different time slots there would absolutely be no reason to see a movie anywhere else. Oh yeah and the confectionary is also less money. Thank you Imagine, keep up the excellent work.

The seats are super comfy. They recline quiet far back. Good view in almost any seat. The theater was clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful! We watched Bad Boys...this franchise is really funny. Didn't expect it to be as entertaining as it was! I would drive the 45mins it took me to come to this theater, better than Cineplex theaters downtown.

I was pretty amazed at the fact they had full recliners for each seat. That was fantastic to have as your seat. They are big and comfortable. We paid $12 each for our tickets too which was pretty reasonable considering the comfort. I ordered the tickets ahead of time online and picked them up at the kiosk. We were able to select our seats too when purchasing. The food court is right beside the theatre in the mall too which is handy. Note for parents, the lady behind us said her young son had trouble seeing over the chair in front as they are sizable. I believe there may be boosters available, but would confirm with the staff or bring your own.

Comfortable but zero customer service skills. Last time I brought in a tea from Tim’s and they told me they serve tea here so next time requested I buy it here. Ok. I can respect that. So come today and ordered tea. They are out of stock! Lol Ok. So I said I’d like to bring one in. The manager came over and rudely said I couldn’t bring in tea even though they have none in stock. I said that doesn’t seem far. She shrugged her shoulders and said “that’s policy”. Guess from now on I’ll just sneak it in.

A very small theatre that plays select movies in a not so populated suburban area. Although not big, the experience was indeed special. The 5 stars is attributed completely to the leather recliner chairs in every theatre. It wasn't even VIP and it had the most comfortable seats. If you brought a little blanket, you might just fall asleep! It is in the vicinity of many highschools and elementary schools and the theatre itself is inside a mall. Due to this there will be many kids watching movies so that may be a concern for certain people. All in all, wonderful experience, great seats, limited selection. Tip: look up the movies they play online beforehand so that you are not disappointed when arriving hoping for a specific movie that may not be available.

Great little theatre! Well maintained and clean. Polite staff. If you like all your movies in IMAX/4D/AVX/Surround etc etc, this isn't the place for you. But if you're willing to trade off smaller screens for cheaper tix -- without sacrificing fresh popcorn -- you'll be happy. Plus limitless free outdoor parking! (Use main entrance on east side of mall, facing Bathurst; and cinema is directly below you.)

I couldn't believe it when I first came into the cinema... they have put amazing seats.... it is all leather, nice and comfortable, there is a button at your right which make the seat lying down and the feet comes up . The ticket is only 12 $ . The food is ok , and cheap. The washroom and the whole place is clean .

Niche little place downstairs under the main entrance at promenade. Free coat check, really cheap tickets especially on Tuesdays, have amazing seats that are like lazy boys and fully recline - I'd equate them to VIP movies. Two tickets on a Tuesday are 16 bucks tax in! Not a large selection of movies but they have the most popular ones. Their concessions are expensive (where aren't they). The only downside is they took all of the video games and arcade stuff out. However they did automate the ticket booths (tip: buy online in advance so u can select your seats in advance) and the seats are all assigned in advance (so don't sit wherever!).

I love this theatre! The tickets are cheaper than Cineplex and the seats are awesome; they are so big and comfortable and they recline like a lazyboy. The snacks at the concession stand are very reasonably priced! My only complaint is that sometimes the movie volume is too low so it's necessary to tell a staff member to turn it up. Other than that, this is my theater of choice.

Refused admission with a popcorn purchased elsewhere, even though it was not stated anywhere on their website that there was a "no food/drink" rule upon ticket purchase. SHAME ???????????? Chairs were super comfy, hence the two star rating despite absolutely uncooperative and unfriendly staff lacking basic customer service skills (i.e. failing to point out where on their website the aforementioned policy was outlined—if I had seen it and knew it upfront, I would have obeyed it in the first place).

No no no no no. This is not how a theatre should be. The sound is lower than my computer's max volume. All the commercials are stupid "games" instead of trailers. They dont even have the imax stuff like cineplex does. And who cares about the seats? It's like they are encouraging people to talk and go on their phones and sleep instead of watching the movie. And all their advertising is low budget and cheap, cineplex has high budget effects and space stuff. By the way kingsman the golden circle sucked.

Awesome retro-style movie theater! The rooms are small and flat, but the price is just right! If you'd like to see a blockbuster movie on a budget, this is the place to go. It's not very popular, so you will always get a decent seat. The snacks also won't cost you $20 per person either... unless you want a 3-course snack meal. :)

I was very happy with the experience. The only 2 things I hated were: online and the overall ticket. Online when you go the site they show you times but not the location when you click onto the site have the location posted somewhere but don't hide it, it caused us to realise the movie we thought was at 1:15 but 12:30 so we caught the next showing which for us was no big deal but I can understand someone getting angry over this. The ticket I get no recite to save paper but it said cinema #1 the movie we went to see was in #3, for me nitpicking but for some people real dealbrakers. The theatre was fantastic you will completely forget those mistakes when you actually sit and watch the movie. The big thing that this theatre does right are seats my goodness I'm 6 feet tall and wear size 14 shoes the theatre I usually go to is the Markham Cineplex, the old and new theatre I was always uncomfortable because absolutely no leg room and only with the old uncomfortable seats I always tossed and turned whoever designed this theatre used a person like me to figure out what seat to get and the distance between my seat and the seat in front of me. I really want this company to continue with their dream and be a better company than Cineplex and most importantly have multiple theatres showing the same movie because no matter where you sit you always get a good seat and the screen size is just amazing if they made it as big a Cineplex 6 feet tall seems pretty short when you can't see a lot of the screen and it will be better like missed the 12:30 showing another screen will be ready at 1 so you don't wait over 3 hours but more like 30 minutes. Oh and the most important thing I don't feel worried about an angry parent is yelling at me because I'm definitely not blocking anyone. Finally, $10 tickets can't argue over that.

(Note - At least as of October 2019, unlike some other theater chains, Imagine does not charge a fee for online, advance ticketing, nor for reserving specific seats.) Imagine Cinemas have ensured that every visit there is a good customer experience - all the seats are electrically adjustable for your comfort and a decent distance away from the screen. There is plenty of room between seats both side to side and within the rows. The price is good, and the selection of sweets, drinks and popcorn typical of other cinemas. This one, however, is rarely sold out, and you can book online too. I'm happy to be a regular visitor and recommend it to everyone.

I like watching movies in this cinema particularly at Woodbine Mall, because it is not crowded, the washroom is always clean and it's got the very 90's look of movie houses. Also the movie admission and concession prices are better than Cineplex theatre This is the ideal cinema for small children, especially those who are sensitive to noise and who find the large box chain theatres too loud and intense. Before the movie, you can visit the Promenade Mall, and then take in a movie, in a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of yesteryear. Prices are comparatively cheaper than the going rate and the screen is just fine.

Rainbow Cinemas is a great place to go to enjoy a movie. The screen's are smaller than you'd typically find at a Cineplex theater, and the sound systems aren't as good, but the tickets and concessions are relatively cheap.

The seating in this theater is very nice. It reclines back and also has a foot rest. This place has one of the best seatings ever, they are comfortable. There used to be a small area for arcade games but they removed it due to corona virus thought. There is rarely a line here. You can buy movie tickets online which I recommend because it's easier and faster. You will have to pay online if you are seeing a popular film because all the seatings will be taken if you don't buy ahead.

I absolutely love this movie theater and my wife now refuses to go anywhere else. Seating, concession food quality and pricing can't be beat! Screen/picture quality isn't IMAX level but I'd definitely rate it better than any standard cineplex/other showing I've seen. Only suggestion I could ask for improvement is the offer of beer at concession, as most theaters and family establishments are now offering.

Its only here because this mall can't get a cineplex. It offers cheap prices because the locals don't mind the cheap prices you sit in a leather chair you can remotely control. Great little cinema near the food court at Promenade Mall. Don't have too many screens but carry the mainstream movies. We didn't notice if they have 3D movies or not though. Large comfy leather recliners with cupholders for seats, reserved seating as part of the base price (not an extra add-on). Love that it's not very busy or doesn't feel very busy or crowded even if you're sitting next to someone. Prices are cheaper than Cineplex and way more comfortable too! I would recommend this place if you're more focused on watching a movie at the cinema while being comfortable for 2 hours. Sound and screen aren't as good as Cineplex and don't think they have 3D or other fancy options (AVX, etc)

To all those wondering whether this theatre is worth it, the answer is yes! The biggest concern I had was being able to see the screen since the seats are not all heavily vertically stacked the way they are at cineplex. Let me tell you this was not an issue at all since when you sit in the seat you sink into them somewhat and this leads to an unobstructed view. The seats themselves are amazing, so comfortable and so much space to stretch out (can almost lay totally flat) and the reclining function is powered! The ticket prices are also much cheaper than cinplex ($18.50 vs $13). The cinema is clean, staff are friendly. I will always go to imagine from now on!

Recliners were comfy as all imagine locations but the staff here was really disorganized with the online tickets. Employee couldn’t scan my phone so he took the phone out of my hands which is kind of gross in Covid times. Also for the love of god, why is this the only theatre in the GTA that won’t let me bring a coffee in??? Unbelievable. It’s just a coffee and I’m not buying a coffee from a pot that has been sitting there all night. I would understand if I was bringing in a whole meal and snacks, but it is just a coffee. Lighten up.

Not sure if all the auditoriums have reclining chairs however 6 does. The screen was not the biggest, however it provided with a nice experience. I remember the soda stained seats, popcorn practically stomped into the carpet, and gum in ever cup holder. I remember the funky murals that made absolutely no sense and the really stale candy and horrible sound quality. Imagine cinemas has taken a really ratchet movie theater and turned it into a work of pure luxury and art. replacing the hard, plastic seats with amazing reclining, soft armchairs. Amazing sound quality with a modern design of the cinema all around. Sure I miss some of the weird childhood nostalgia I would feel walking in today, but nothing beats the feeling of being able to fall asleep to any movie in those heavenly chairs.

Great spot to watch a film. You can reserve a seat online and avoid watching the ads before the film starts which is a bonus. The screen is small but the seats are so comfortable it doesn't matter. The entrance fee is very reasonable and the parking is free.

So mad, we paid 10 $ for seets and we had to sit on the FLOOR. The theater was overbooked and there was no warning on the wheelchair seats. Usually there is one, but because the theater was overbooked, they removed it. Digusting, we sat on the FLOOR and was not offered a refund. Absolutely hideous

Rudest personnel ever. CEO called just to be rude to me. ETA: I had booked an event for high school students with special needs to attend a movie while exams were happening at school. I have booked many of these kinds of outings to places that offer things like bowling and trampoline. Every other place offer comped admission for support staff. EVERY OTHER PLACE. Not Imagine!! They had the audacity to charge us the same amount for support staff as they were for our students with special needs. We were booking a private event, meaning they were going to run the movie with or without support staff there. This is GREED, pure and simple. We pulled out and attended the Gem Theatre in Keswick which very happily comped admission for our support staff. DO NOT SUPPORT THOSE WHO DISCRIMINATE!!

The screens here are small, but the trade off is comfy reclining seats. The popcorn tasted stale, and when I asked to get extra bags, I was offered small paper "courtesy" cups, which is very annoying since combos come with one popcorn and 2 drinks, so the popcorn is clearly intended for sharing. I ended up spending significantly less on food as a result, because I only bought popcorn for the kids and not myself.

The extortion scheme... The theatre is now charging a mandatory $5 service fee on top of each ticket with no option to decline it. They try to tell you that it's ok because you get food when you leave the theatre to take with you but it's all garbage food that will not be suitable for a healthy diet. So instead of increasing prices a little bit they force everyone to have food they don't want and can't even enjoy at the theatre.

You have to support the little theatres, they are the only thing keeping the big theatres controlling the prices and making movies $22 a film. This theatre, is a very good family experience, on Mondays, they have movies for Mommies/Daddies, the seating is spacious and the environment is welcoming Tuesdays are just 5 bucks? you can't beat that, oh yah, back in 1991! Movies are first run and the Promenade Mall is a great place to browse and walk around in. I can't say enough about this theatres, please help support it, because if you don't if might just be gone and turn into a Holt Renfrew.

Great prices. Seats are very comfy and spacious. Theatre is not crowded at all and service is fast. Sound is terrible compared to cineplex. Popcorn and butter also low quality. Good for budget movies but would prefer the large screen and Dolby surround for major cinematic events.

I just love the place, when ever me and my family want to see a movie, that is the place to go! I find those seats so comfortable, and the popcorn popped to perfection, the cozy little theatre beats any fancy shmancy one any day! I recommend this to any family. this is the BEST movie theatre experience anyone can ask for: you pick your own seat on line, amazing high end "lazy boy" recliners, good large space between rows, clean environment, friendly staff and no line ups... We watched StarWars and it was great entertainment, we knew our seats ahead of time, sound picture quality were very good. WOW, 1st time going to this theater since the reno and I was VERY impressed with the new layout and especially comfy seats (if only the damn airlines would adopt this kind of seating arrangement)! Their theaters far surpass those of Cineplex even if the screens are not gigantic in size. I like how you get the feeling of being in your own private theater and able to lie down while watching the movie (and fall asleep also!!). One suggestion, revamp the washrooms because they are way too outdated looking now.

Great place to go for a movie. I am a taller person and the seats there are so much better than other places which charge more for a movie. Theaters are smaller and and you won't get all the choices you get with other theaters but for the discount cost and a more comfortable seating definitely my place to see movies.

One of the few cinemas out there that truly value customer experience over profits. Seats are MORE spacious than cinepex VIP, theatres are smaller, and overall a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. Only downside is that there are a lot of highschool kids that come here so make sure you don't go during peak periods to get the best experience.

Recently renovated in Jan-ish 2017. Seats are spacious leather recliners, and the theaters are fairly clean. The screens are smaller than the regular theaters but so are the theater sizes (~30-40seats). Shows most new blockbuster film's, but can sell out quickly because of the cheaper prices. Great access to the food court nearby in case the regular theaters food doesn't work for you.

Cinema discriminates against infants, toddlers and parents of young children. The new owners made the theatre inaccessible to infants and toddlers by removing the movies with mommy/parent program. It is the only movie theatre chain in the GTA that does not have movies that are baby friendly. I can't believe this theatre discriminates against babies and toddlers, and the parents of young kids...I am requesting that you change your policy!

It's an ok cinema. Depending on the movie your going to watch, choose wisely the time you choose to see it. Any movie that attracts teenagers will surely be filled with disruptions! Chatting all throughout the film, walking around, and clueless to the fact they are disturbing everyone! Management needs to get a better handle of this situation!

This theater has been recently renovated and now offers reclining leather seats in all the theaters. The seats are roomy, very comfortable and perfectly plush. You can purchase tickets online or at the theater with reserved seating. If it's a new release, I do suggest to buy ahead of times to ensure a seat, especially a preferred one. The concession has the best popcorn I have had at any theater and they have extra butter!
