I have been going there for years but now this place needs serious maintenance. Not for the first time I ended up in front of a screen that has dark spots, blotches, bumps and lines on it. Most annoying when watching a film. Movies weren't made to be watched this way, right, but they still would look better on my cellphone. If the owner does not fix this issue and it ever happens to me again, it will be the last time I ever go there and will go to Dix30 instead. Your move.

The seats were comfortable, this place is huge with an arcade, the screens a bit small but I guess they make up for that if you want pay for IMAX. THEY DON'T TAKE DEBIT CARD! I mean really? Gosh just pay the montly fee and stop asking just for credit cards... Awful. The lineups for food are 20 min wait because they only have 3 cashiers. So plan ahead or stay home and stream

Long wait at the entrance to pay ticket and 40min wait for popcorn an soda. I missed the beginning of my movie even though I came 20 min earlier. I like Guzzo movie selection and price but the wait is really bad. Oh and there is a bad smell in the entrance but once inside the smell isn't there.

The room was quite correct, the food correct, but the arcades which should have been closed. 3 out of 4 arcades are off, those which are open are 1/2 defective, and eat the tokens without being able to play, I raced with my son in a gokart arcade and the steering wheel controls were reversed I turned left to go right and vice versa. Besides the arcades which are literally broken, I don't understand why they are plugged in if it doesn't work except for robbing customers, I believe mr.guzzo could afford to invest a bit in his theaters. This was my last visit before a major update. (Original) Cinéma ordinaire, manque de rénovation. Il prennent seulement crédit ou cash.. sérieux en 2021!? La salle était bien correct, la bouffe correct, mais les arcades qui tant qua ca aurait du être fermée. 3 arcades sur 4 sont éteintes, celles qui sont ouvertes sont 1/2 défectueuse, et mange les jetons sans pouvoir jouer, j'ai fait une course avec mon fils dans une arcade de gokart et les comande du volant était inversé je tournais a gauche pour aller a droite et vice versa. En plus des arcades qui sont brisés littéralement, je ne comprends pas pourquoi elles sont branchés sil elle ne fonctionne pas, sauf pour volé les clients, je crois que mr.guzzo aurait les moyens dinvestir un peu dans ses cinémas. C'était ma dernière visite qvant une mise a jour majeure.

It's nice but doesn't hold up against cineplex. Screens are smaller, seats are cheap and not particularly comfortable for larger people as they provide no support. Seems like they don't put much money into improving things, which is unfortunate for a Quebec company. Would love to see them competitive with the bigger guy.

This is he kind of cinema where hiding snacks and drinks in your coat is a great idea because in the lineup to get some food I had time to read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, my taxes, write a novel set during the early days of the civil rights movement, wrote my renewed wedding vows for my 20 year anniversary in 2025 and even had time to study the intricate details about the archer's paradox. After busting my data plan for the month I decided to fall back on meditating. I think I had an epiphanic moment when I walked on popcorn strewn on the floor. I guess you could say that my sole found a kernel of truth.

I visit this cinema regularly whenever a new movie comes out. I find this cinema very convenient because it shows both English and French movies and it is 10 mins away from my house. However, the workers there need more managing... Not only are they slow at their jobs but their unprofessional attitude shows that they do not want to be at their jobs.. Usually I wouldn't post anything because in the end, I still get to watch the movies I want, but today it was just too much. The worker at the booth who sold us our ticket did not even bother to look at her customers and threw both the interact machine and our tickets through her little hole. The theatre room was BEYOND filthy. The majority of the seats were covered in popcorn, the floor was wet and sticky. What's worse is is that this was AFTER two workers went in to "clean up" the room. Seriously... Guzzo do something about your lazy team..

I went there with family members to watch a movie at 9h00. We get there. There's only one teller and the lineup is getting longer and longer. I buy the tickets. The guy who looks at our tickets doesn't tell us where the movie theater is. We figure it out and head towards the theater. And the place was dirty. Popcorn on the seats, empty cups in the cup holders. Some workers came WHEN the movie was playing to clean up! It was disruptive. When the movie ended, I went and told a worker and he looked at me as if I was a weirdo. And I thought: Ok sorry if I want to help! Anyways, it's one of the only cinemas around and I'll return. But not because I want to, but because it's convenient.

Nasty, nasty smell in the Guzzo entrance (I think the mop and water or detergent needs to be changed) I now hold my breath when I enter and leave and accelerate my speed to go as quickly as I can to avoid that real nasty smell. But price/quality is fair. Cleanliness is good, bathrooms are kept clean, staff are polite and efficient. Some chairs might require an upgrade, still a good theatre to go to!

Horrible wait times to buy tickets, and no option to buy online or reserve seats. Only recently started accepting card payments. The same for the lines at concessions. Basic point is make sure to arrive a good 30min early so you can get your tickets and food hopefully before the movie starts. The service by employees isn't hat great either. If you can I'd suggest popping in during the afternoon to buy your tickets for later, or better yet just go to Cineplex at dix30 or st Bruno since the prices are the same yet the experience way better and Cineplex has a good rewards program and better food options.

The theater aspect is great !!! Problem is that they need to fix and update the arcade. Almost half of the games aren't working and are out of order and we were told the bumper cars only work well before a certain point because of electrical problems. The MEGA-PLEX TASCHEREAU 18 is a sad state. the decor is old and half the lights no longer work. the consesion stand is dark we cannot even see the drinks types because its so dark! service is poor, popcorn tatsed like it was made 5 days ago and cold, butter was asked but what butter! the personne pretended to put some. seats are old and tired very tired and need replacement. the entire theater need renovations! and to top it off the christmas decoration are very very sad! hire a compagnie that does that since its clear your staff cannot do the job.

I love the squishy seats at Cinemas Guzzo! It's worth it to go for the matinee prices. Screens and sound are pretty much standard quality, IMAX experience was good as well - no complaints about any of those. The videogame/play area is great for kids (and adults sometimes), so bring change. Snacks/food is meh - I personally only like the popcorn.

Worst cinema experience and absolute worst cinema crowd. Bad audio and video equipment. Cardboard speakers give a nice trash can audio vintage feel and the out of focus video is to die for. Busted and sticky seats are also great. There’s also a nice damp/sweet smell reminiscent of kindergarten. As for the crowd, we gave this place 5 chances, every time, we had a combination of: 5-8 people talking/texting on their phones, people kicking our seats or simply screaming because, you know, we all scream 15 times during a movie because we enjoy it or because we want to have a fight with our spouse mid-movie. Our all time favorite, people coughing/spitting in our hair/faces because, why not. Washrooms have a nice piss fragrance.

we got there and they said that they had problems with the audio that it was too low. Drove with my brother all the way from the city to the south shore to find a theatre that showed the movie in 2D. the ticket attendant didn't even offer us any coupons or any apologies. went for a late show to watch a 2D version of an opening weekend movie. The cashier told me that they were were having audio problems and that they received complaints about the low volume. I asked her if they could fix it (30 minutes before the movie started), she said nobody in the staff could fix it. Wow, what a waste of time. Cheap Mr. Guzzo under staffs his theaters and doesn't have anyone on hand to fix techncical problems when they arise. I will be going to Dix-30 (Odeon) from now on when on the South Shore.

Very disappointed again. Went on feb 15th 2020. Waiting time is 40 minutes to get 1 popcorn and 2 drinks, Ridiculous. They need a complete redesign of the way the vending works. Lots of wasted steps back behind the counter and it was unbelievable how long it took to get service. It's not the the fault of the employees, but there was many disgruntled customers....this place needs to get more organised or everyone will be going to 10-30 or once another cinema gets built nearby this one is going to be closed....nobody will go.

On the South Shore of Montreal, Guzzo Cinema is one of two popular choices in which Cineplex Odeon at the Quartier Dix30 is the competitor. My personal preference is Guzzo for two reasons: they entertain both English and French movies in an equal proportion, catering to both Francophones and Anglophones equally. Respectfully, Cineplex often neglects showings of VOA or English version movies. Guzzo seating, although older, is more comfortable than the alternative as well. Prices are reasonable on certain week nights (I believe Tuesdays) if you're unsure of what to watch.

Seems like something could be done to improve service. For starters, is it really necessary to buy tickets from people anymore? Great value theater especially during matinees, which run every day until 6pm. As usual with movie theaters food is overpriced beyond belief hence can't give better than 4 stars. Realistically, >10$ for a popcorn and drink is literally larceny and I would never encourage that behavior except it's part of experience for my son. Sound is immersive enough, screen size is great... same as other theaters. I'd prefer seats like some more modern theaters which have stiffer more supportive seats, a little like cars nowadays compared to the 80-90's cars, this location has bucket style seat... which is ok but can get a little uncomfortable after 2 hours. This is personal preference though, some people may prefer the more plush cushion. Not a bad place to watch a movie!

This is an okay movie theatre. Prices are decent for the movies, but as usual, expensive for food. They take credit but not debit card (though there are some of those shady ATM available). The place is kind of dirty, and there is a lingering smell (that I noticed the last 5 or 6 times I went there over the last 2 years). The service is also really really slow there. And the place looks like it is run by kids. Still the movie screens are good. There is even an IMAX screen. And there a lot of activities available for the whole family (arcade machines, bowling alley, ...). So overall, ok experience.

Overpriced merchandise at the food court, dirty floors(summer time), no possible eye contact and no smile from the cashier, no greetings, we somewhat felt like being in an airport lineup more than at an entertaining place. Place is in general disrepair with issues with seats and the overall facility. They are usually understaffed both at the ticket booth as well as the concession stand. They don’t prepare food in anticipation for people ordering it such as hotdogs which then requires a 30 minute wait and a return trip to pick it up. All that being said, there a good selection of movies with some in English that you can’t see at Cineplex.

Just a shadow of past glory as the main entertainment hub when we think about having a good movie night. Understand that movie theaters are not as hot as they used to be, Guzzo has bet on being the the biggest in the south shore to keep his status, but that strategy back fired. They now look outdated on so many front. They don't have an app nor a way to buy tickets online. They are always under staffed. Bumper cars and carrousel are just nice decorations and it been a good while since I last saw it being used.

I went with a gift certificate for two entries with popcorn and drinks. The movie was in IMAX and like Cineplex they won’t accept the certificate and charge the extra fee. Had not been to GUZZO TASCHEREAU 18 in about one year. First off an incredibly nasty smell assaulted our noses as we walked in!! A mix of dirty socks meets very stagnant dirty water. Really UNPLEASANT to say the least. We seated ourselves and it took a few tries before we found two comfortable seats side by side. People seem to be uncommonly destructive when if comes to theatre. Nothing like hanging your feet over the seats in front if you or pushing the back of the seats to the rhythm of your plugged in music!!! NOTE YO MOVIEGOERS: Respect the furniture in the theatres!! The program was fine as it always is offering a nice choice of films. Bathrooms could be cleaner... All in all not the same experience compared to the CINEPLEX at Quartier 10/30!! GUZZO needs to renovate if it wants to keep its share of the movie going market and police its patrons with regard to cinema environment. NOTE TO GUZZO MANAGEMENT: Hire a better cleaning staff ensure they use clean water at all times.

On the 26th of December, going to the movies with 3 childs, 3 adults We got charged for a one year old kid ... i must say that this is a first. Never seen that elsewhere. Also, they sold us ticket for a show that doesn't have enough room for all of us together. Worst is that 10m prior to the show there are two row that are reserve for others. I wasn't they only adults deceice by the situation. We where limited with our schedule so ended up there. The theater is old, lack of refinement. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Overall, the cinemas are OK but my beef is with their loyalty program. For a while, it seemed that my card was not accumulating points even though I was using it. I would ask the staff at the cinemas and they would say it is all good but still no points. I sent an email to customer service who admitted that there was a problem with the card and promised to credit the points if I sent proof of purchases, which I did. However, I never received any points. I sent further emails and called a couple of times but never any response to the messages I left. REALLY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Always a giant line with only 1 ticket counters open. Once you get to the counter they don't take interact so you have use the Atm only to get back in the ridiculous line. Once you get in it's not that bad, besides being equally under staffed at the snack counter.

It really smells bad in the entrance.like sewer or dirty mop water. Mr guzzo do something please. I almost gag as soon as I came in... And the ice tea is flat.. And last time i came it had a similar foul odor... And the water fountain barely pumps water. The place is falling apart.

used to be a great place to bring children but unfortunately they removed the free admission on Sunday for small children. Makes what used to be a fun and low cost outing less affordable. Many of the games in the arcade do not work and the change machines are often out of order with no attendant present.

Busy parking somedays but nothing to worry about. Place has a weird smell? Probably time to change the mop bucket but anyways, still a simple place. Nice little arcade there with bumper cars but everytime I've went they weren't working or simply just not in use? Oh well. Popcorn's good, overall food is good. Very comfy seats, you could practically sleep in them in case your movie's not what you expected. It's your average theatre, nothing too too special besides the bigger than usual arcade and comfy seats.

Small theater, Imax quality was very disappointing, left a lot to be desired. I sat in the 8th row and could see the pixels all over the screen, honest to god garbage compared to AVX. It was very cold in the theater, floors are so hollow you hear people walking as loud thuds from top to bottom, won't be going there again, no not even on cheap Tuesday's. Only reason why it gets 2 stars is because it wasn't as crowded as other theaters.

Overall, our family movie-going experience was good. Theatre was clean and the movie and sound quality were fine. The amusement center was a little outdated as some of the arcades were either out of order or so old that they had severe "burn-in" or missing colors. Also, the "token" machine only worked 1 time out of 10 tries.

Worst waiting I've ever experienced at a movie theater: you wait 20 minutes to get your tickets and another 30 MINUTES for popcorn. On top of that, they barely have anything decent to eat except popcorn. The Cineplex at Dix30 is absolutely worth the 15 minutes drive away.

The movie was a masterpiece no doubt about it unfortunately the experience was tarnished a bit by Guzzo taschereau 18 management , at different moments during the film if you look very precisely in the middle towards the right top hand corner of the screen at the IMAX theater you'll see a dark spot, it comes in and out during the film you really have to be attentive but it is there, tried to inform the manager that at the end of the show and he said it was quite impossible so kind of tarnish the movie a bit but the movie is great thumbs up to Lucas and all the collaborators???? thumbs down to Guzzo ???? May the force be with all of you ????

Great theater with arcade games to kill time with friends or family. They also have cheaper prices if you watch a movie before 6:00 pm, so it's perfect for a weekend afternoon activity. The seats are less comfortable than their biggest competitor though.
