This Movie Theater is classified in the category of Movie theater.
Fun Wine and Cheese plus a movie
Excellent small theatre for cinema lovers
Best old school theatre in the city !! Alcohol and food available !! Perfect for the family or a date !! Just a great place for watching a movie !!
Great Theatre. Staff is awesome and helpful.
Such a great vintage atmosphere. Comfortable seats.
Spacious with recline seating.
Nice atmosphere. Craft beers. Great place.
I adore this theatre. Seats are so comfy and spacious. Love that they sell wine and beer for our movie. We bought a membership and it's super cost effective and it feels good to support this business. Movie listings are really good and very current.
A great and inexpensive theater. The seats are kinda old and mildly uncomfortable
(Translated) As soon as we saw the movie theater. It retains the image of the old movie theater in the movie. Ticket shops, snack bars and auditoriums are all vintage. I had an event called 'Hard Boyd Thursday' at the bookstore called 'The Great Escape' (I am sorry to have missed this bookstore) when I went to the movie theater. It was a dream time. The feeling of seeing a woman from Shanghai in a vintage theater .. ha .. I do not know if I will be able to visit again someday, but it is a beloved theater of my beloved neighborhood.
Great venue, great value
We love going to this theatre, it's very cozy (there is only one movie screened at a time) and has a great atmosphere. Their popcorn is good and you can even get coffee or beer.
One of my favorite places in the city
Price is great. Would recommend buying the pass they have there too for the discount if you go often. The nice classic atmosphere is amazing and like no other place.
We love the Fox! Have been coming here for years. Such a cool theatre and all the big blockbuster movies plus quirky independent films and art house stuff. Staff are always super friendly and helpful, too.
Great neighborhood feel
I have been going to the fox for over 25 years! While I miss the monthly Blade Runner showings I am happy that they are still in in to win it
Great local theater
Great place to catch a movie. Good for kids.
If ya love classic theatres in Toronto, this is the spot!!
Large, older, well maintained, single screen theatre that is popular and attended by local area customers. Movies are selected with care and are suitable for most audiences while pricing is noticeably below average. Wheelchair access is available but not sure about the washroom access situation. I suggest that you check before attending. Street parking or public transit is good.
Beautiful old cinema. Great independent showing current films (just after they disappear from the chains) and classics (Purple Rain and The Labyrinth to name a few)
Great visit back to my long-ago boyhood, courtesy of Errol Flynn, Olivia de Haviland, Robin Hood and his merry men. And, of course, the new and (much) improved Fox Theatre. Best of all, great sound to go with beautiful Technicolor imagery. Thanx again.
Old school theatre feel including the original ticket booth. Great staff, great prices, seating is spaced out nicely, and up to date projector technology. Wonderful local spot with real character.
Cheaper tickets. First movie means less waiting. Friendly staff.
Always a great time! Beautiful old theatre, great movies always. Serving beer and wine!
This is the best picture house in Toronto without a doubt. Friendly staff big comfortable seats.
My 1st experience at this was WoW! Original Movie Cameras on display, love the movies, pop corn and easy in & out theme from this Theater.
If you want a comfortable experience at a movie theatre that offers a wide variety of product at the concession stand including beer you’ve got to take in a movie at the Fox Theatre.
If you want a comfortable experience at a movie theatre that offers a wide variety of product at the concession stand including beer you’ve got to take in a movie at the Fox Theatre.
Super comfy seats, wine at the snack bar, fresh popcorn.
Great theatre
Great little place
Fun
Love this old school gem!
Great old theatre.
Love this cinema. Offers a huge range of movies. Decent seats, fully licensed, and technically on par with more commercial cinemas. It's cheap to buy a member card and then watching a movie is not much more than renting a movie from iTunes, but a way more memorable experience.
Fun times
Walking into this theatre is always a walk into nostalgia. Those days when theatres were comfortable velvet seats and the sound is not so loud that it damages your hearing. While I love the little modernization additions they have done over the last few years, the changes such as the loss of equipment from the "olden days" that served as a reminder to the history of the place is truly disappointing. While I always have a wonderful time when I make it to the Fox Theatre, the absence of information on the website (even about such small things as to if you can still buy tickets at the theatre) and the subjective closing of the concession stand "halfway through the film" (even saying an needing an hour till the film finished was inaccurate) probably should be more publicized and also maybe a bit more standardized. All in all, a true to this locale is a wonderful experience especially given the one-off cult films of yesteryear that they screen.
It was a while since I was there -and was really happy to discover the chairs have been replaced for very comfortable reclining chairs. Reasonably priced tickets and popcorn too. Two thumbs up!
There's absolutely nothing like this theatre! Lovely experience, great staff, serves alcohol and low prices.
I love this theatre. I grew up in a town with an old second run theatre like this, and I just wish that I lived closer to the Fox, or that it was closer to me.
great old time theater .. enjoy your movie with popcorn and pop (or alcoholic beverage if you so desire)
Great classic theatre with typical fare. Historical.
The fox is a great place to catch a movie that you might have missed in the cineplex. It's an old school movie house with one screen that shows a different movie during each show time. The prices are reasonable and the concessions are better than anything you will find in a chain theater, including beer.
Old fashioned cinema, playing a combination of classics and recent releases. The movie tonight was Peter Jackson's "They Shall Not Grow Old", can't think of a better venue in which to watch.
The best movie theatre in the GTA. Great movies, great old school experience and great deals either with the membership or Groupons.
Intimate theatre with great selection and prices
Amazing old theater
This theatre is the jewel of The Beaches. Constantly rotating new and classic films, it is truly a vintage theatre experience.
In my top 3 for best movie popcorn in the city.
Old time theater. Comfortable seats. Love the popcorn ????
Beautiful Historical Arts and Cultural Centre.
Fun retro theater, but it's the same prices as a real movie theater.
Lovingly restored theatre, with great seats and great popcorn. Support this gem with a membership!
Best independent theatre ever. Great deal, become a member! Doubke feature and often play classic movies and cult favourites. Comfy old style seats with a rich heritage. Truely can't be found anywhere else
Lovely quaint historic neighbourhood theatre that plays Film festival type movies and 2nd run movies. Lovely theatre. Good space between the comfortable cushioned, reclining seats.
Lovely old-fashioned theatre. Definitely worth getting the annual membership, you will get your money back quick enough with discounts on admission and at the concession stands.
Great staff, they really know their movies, if you want to have a chat about the Marvel franchise or obscure beasts of the southern wild! Great seats, clean, good popcorn, several cold beer - really why are we going to mainstream movie houses?
What an elegant, classic, theater. I loved it. Great place for a film festival, and a chance to see my own film on a big screen.
Still the place to go for a night out at the movies. I much prefer the atmosphere here (and the film selection) over modern cine plex type theatres.
I used to live in the apartment above this theater as a kid; had many good times popping down to catch a show.
A real old movie theater.
Amazing place to watch your favorite movie.
A lovely theatre with comfy seats and good popcorn.
Classic!!! A must!!!
Very cool retro theatre in the beaches
Old school
And old fashioned theatre which is a nice change from going to a huge Cineplex! Very cozy.
Love this place
Jewel in a Sea of Multiplex Mediocrity. The Fox is not very 'pretty' but that is its charm. Sure the paint is peeling and there's that crazy Candy Bar that looks ready for a Freddy Kruger moment but...the seats are comfy, the screen is big, the sound system is decent and...you can order a beer! Sold! Become a member and let's preserve this Beach Temple of Cinema!
A last remnant of stand alone movie theatres, but with updated projection technology. Much loved by the Beach community....great popcorn and you can buy a beer or glass of wine to take to your slightly worn but comfy seat.
Love the refurbished old cinema. It is worth paying $10 for an annual membership and you soon make the money back and it helps keep this bit of history open! They serve alcohol and snacks. And show some great classics as well as newer releases.
Great spot to catch indie films in Toronto! Rustic, old-fashioned and homey
This theatre is just marvelous. It is a classic! The experience is like no other in the city, you feel like you've gone back in time and it's a great feeling. The seats are comfortable, the sound is great, the screen is just the right size and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Perfect place for movie lovers who remember what it felt like to go to the movies before the massive multi-plex theatres came along. Prices are great but it's definitely worth getting a membership in order to take advantage of all the perks and discounts.
Fun little theatre that shows good movies for a good price.
Been a member since 1982
A nice retreat from all the superficiality of cineplex. The volume was too quiet to hear at some points.
A great local experience unlike most theatres these days. Just one big screen and comfortable seating with lots of leg room. Concessions include alcohol for adults. Members get discounted admission.
One of the best theatres in Toronto. Great neighborhood (to get a bite/drink before or after), good films, and it is very clean. Cleanest theatre bathrooms in the city. Plus they sell craft beer and wine at the concession stand!
It's like walking into a theater that got lost in time... It also serves beer and wine!! $10 movies .. cheaper if you become a member.
My favourite place to go see a movie!
This place is a treasure.
Love this place. Only 1 theatre, staff is always friendly. Got their liqour license a few years ago which is great. Wish they served more food options but it's a small theatre. Will always come here.
Love going there..... So cozy :)
Good theatre for locals
My favourite place to see movies!
This place is the oldest continually operating theater in North America. Worth checking out but as they usually play 2 movies a day definitely check what's playing before you take a trip there. Comfortable seats, art deco design features and popcorn.
A nice spot to catch independent films or movies that have been released for a little while. This place is very inexpensive, both for ticket price and concessions; it has some of the best popcorn I've had! A few drawbacks are: show times are limited, concession stand doesn't stay open all evening and the seating isn't stadium, so you can have limited view if a tall person sits in front of you. But, can't beat the price and it's got a great atmosphere.
Great independent cinema!
My favourite place to see movies!
(Translated) Cinema old way, but with good probrammazione (Original) Cinema vecchia maniera, ma con buona probrammazione
If you're in the Beaches, support this great theatre. Comfy chairs, good beer, usually great flicks.
My mom does the show thing a lot as she is a performer in her youth and a drama teacher so yep I'm always down for the cause. Great seats and venue...
never been but they’re showing The Room so it’s a 5 star from me
Love the atmosphere and comfy seats!
Good venue
Love the place! Couldn’t resist to become a member, the vintage style theatre is so friendly and I love having somewhere that make me feel part of the community to go!
Relaxed Atmosphere, LLBO License. Fantastical vintage theatre, always clean and the staff are excellent.
The best place to get laser
Theater (Theatre?) with soul and character in the east end of the city - Definitely worth checking out
This place is a landmark of The Beaches. We are lucky to have it in our neighborhood. Come here if you want to enjoy a exquisite glass of beer or wine while watching a movie with affordable prices.
One of my favourite places to watch a movie in the east end. Lovely old theatre that has been modernized just enough to make it comfortable. Wonderful that they have local tea, and craft brews on hand. Popcorn is usually good, and the staff are always pleasant. If the floor was a little more "stadium sloped" it would be five stars.
Great atmosphere and feeling at this theatre, and the excellent prices really bring you back to a better time for cinema.
Best theatre in the city. Love the cracking radiators!
Great family feel! Comfy chairs and respectful audience always.
Went to see Wonder. An excellent movie. The fox is a GREAT venue. Never crowded always a good seat lots of leg room. A real bargain with the senior or membership rate.
It's average place to go
I SIMPLY LOVE THIS PLACE. I AM MOST COMFORTABLE THERE.....Mr. Hawkins
I remember going to the fox 65 years ago.
Best independent theatre in Toronto. Not even close.
A great old theather to enjoy movies, was cheaper than a regular theather and you can enjoy beer and wine with the show without breaking the bank
Awesome venue, only down fall was the super drunk people behind us who kept getting served more beer. They were loud and obnoxious, no one did anything about it..
Great place to have an office party. Staff are excellent and accommodating.
Great place to have an office party. Staff are excellent and accommodating.
Fine theatre. Offers annual membership card, which allows admission to double feature for only $1 dollar more.
My wife and I enjoy coming here for unique movies that aren't in the big cinemas in wide release. We also enjoy their Oscars night every year! Great theatre and the interior is historic!
Quaint little theatre in the east end of Toronto. Comes complete with creaky old seats that are very comfy and have good leg room too. There's only one screen in the theatre. Movies are not new releases but are current. An enjoyable night out... Beer and cider available in the concession stand with popcorn.
Saw star wars here the first time ever
Great spot
Movies are better at the Fox!
Love the Fox! Over 100 years old and honours and maintains its history. The heating pipes rattle once in a while and is kinda part of the experience! Very reasonable with prices and if a member, great deals on tickets and concessions. Has community events... like free Oscar night with prizes...and features indie films and themed weeks with holidays. People are quiet and there to experience the film. Staff are friendly and welcoming! Try it out!
Amazing local theater with a throw-back feel. This is a place that is clearly owned by folks who love movies.
Lots of leg room. Friendly staff.
Friendly staff, great prices, great films.
Great place for a cute date. Make sure you check what movies are playing and arrive early.
It's a movie theatre that serves alcohol and plays new and classic movies. Staff are friendly, it's a nice space, clean and has a good sound system.
So many fond memories at the Fox theater. I love this place more than I care to admit. So humble. So good.
Great selection of movies, great prices and beer.My favourite theatre.
Vintage enough said.
My favorite place to watch a movie and the staff are always so nice...always makes my day coming here!
Retro movie exp
Cozy
Great retro theatre for 2nd rum flicks
Everyone loves the fox. They’re also licensed to serve alcohol now which is an added bonus. Been here forever and probably will be for longer.
Wonderful old theatre, beautifully update, great prices.
Polite and cheerful staff. 3 Bill Baords was not my kind of movie.I did enjoy the powerful acting. I am glad we still have a local movie theater you are a great asset to our committee..Rodney Rendell- Green.
Our go-to movie spot. Comfortable seats, digital projection and sound combined with a crowd that comes to watch and enjoy the movie rather than talk and text yields a consistently great experience.
A favourite for all kinds of movies! Planning to go today. Wine, beer or coffee with my popcorn is s nice touch
Easily the coolest theater. Great beer, comfortable seats, great screen and sound quality.
This is a great place to see a movie! A family run cinema that chooses the movies you can't see at the multiplex. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere retro chic. You can even purchase beer or wine to go with the popcorn. What a treat!
Old school! Love the popcorn here!
Loved my experience here. They have packed a lot of sound into this tiny theatre from 1914!! Will be back!
Love this local gem.
Beautiful old fashioned theatre with plush comfy seats
Excellent venue
It's a Beach classic!
Super adorable, very classic, awesome all round
Take a glimpse at what a beautiful old fashioned theatre feels like. Comfy seats. Great popcorn. And it wont break the bank.
Nice theater. No parking though, you gotta part on the street.
If you want that old movie vibe, this is the place to go.
Quiet small townish feeling away from the strip malls and downtown craziness. Makes a nice relaxing night out.
The classic charm of this place is an experience in itself. Experience what made going to the theatre such a thrill.
Degrassi reunion... fun.. nice theater...! Just like theaters of old. Very nostalgic..
Best place to see a movie. Comfortable seats. Big screen. Old school theatre.
Oldest theatre in Canada. Great place. Wonderful times.
I didn't see one fox.
This place makes me happy!
The longest continuously running movie theater in Canada. Small but mighty.
Gotta love going to a movie at the Fox! The old style theatre makes it a fun and different experience. Prices are fair, you can buy wine or beer at the concession stand, and there's lots of local restaurants nearby to make a great dinner and movie night! The theatre is old, the seats a little worn, but in my opinion, it's all part of its charm. I always enjoy going to support this local business.
love this place! not the most modern but nostaglic
Great for watching movies that came out awhile ago. (Movies that stopped playing in normal theatres) Their seating is average, popcorn and stuff tastes great! There's snacks like any other theatre, and cheap! 8.5/10
I just want to say..AMAZING!
Nice neighbourhood theatre. If you don't want to go to big box theatres go to this is old fashioned theatre.
This cinema theatre is an icon in my books, the memories are still fresh even after years ago. Never change.
The place never changes :)
Very quaint and lovely.
Cute. Good popcorn and I love the movies for mommies event.
Amazing little venue. Old school charm. The place was packed. Nice to see a full movie theatre.
Stephen Bush sucks at Mario Kart.
Historical Theatre. Always a fun place to watch a movie, old school.
LOVE the Fox. When we moved to Toronto the first thing we looked for was a good independent theatre, and the Fox was perfect. The screen is a great size and the popcorn is delightful. Memberships are only like $10 and members can see movies for $7 on Tuesdays. That’s really hard to beat. When it’s easy to spend like $25 for a movie at Cineplex I can’t see why you would go anywhere other than the Fox. It’s such a wonderful old theatre and the movie specials are great too – we caught a Vincent Price double feature last year which was so cool. Only tiny complaint is that sometimes you can here a clicking sound from the neighbors, but it's not bad and I'm assuming it's outside of their control. OH and they also usually have some kind of Left Field beer which is awesome as well.
Fox Theatre is awesome. Low key, good starting, friendly staff. They play lots of alternate and older movies as well as new ones. Did I mention they serve beer?! Support local business, check out the Fox!
Great cinema in the heart of The Beach, Toronto
This is a great community theatre. Membership is worth it. The also server beer, wine and cider to go with your popcorn.
Friendly staff and great 2nd run films selection. A neighbourhood gem.
Great atmosphere, good prices and terrific films.
Solid theatre
We like coming here - good movie selection and nice retro feel. BUT! the sound is not acceptable. Quieter lines of dialogue are inaudible over the constant white noise (either of the a/c or a power amp turned up too loud and a preamp turned up not loud enough). This happened with Rocket Man and earlier tonight with Yesterday. We were sitting dead centre in the theatre both times. Not fun to miss a large part of the dialogue. Please turn it up.
SCAM!!! THERE ARE NI FOXES AT THAT THEATRE
First class seatings.
Old theater and kinda 4un down but ok.
The seats were incredibly comfortable. There is plenty of leg room and the seats even recline a little. The arm rests can be lifted up so you can cuddle with your date as well. The bathrooms are really close and the concessions are reasonably priced (a large popcorn and large pop for around $10). The extremely affordable yearly membership is very worth getting as well. I absolutely love this spot. We will DEFINITELY be returning regularly.
(Translated) Quite comfortable (Original) Cukup nyaman
Balmy Beach Fox Theatre is cozy, with excellent membership benefits, deals and great service.
Beer with the movie...good times
Nice place, close to the lake but the movie I saw was awful!
Great local theatre! While most big theatres are freezing, the Fox is warm. Leave the sweater at home! This old building is not accessible: the doors are not automatic, and there are 3 steps up just inside the doors. The washrooms are down a couple steps, and narrow. There are no change tables in the washrooms. The Fox hosts Movies for Mommies every second Wednesday. There is metered street parking and a streetcar stop right in front.
Great theatre
Love Toronto's review theatres! Authentic movie theatre setting.
Wonderful local rep theatre. Great Quality projection, strong local support and a historic building, can't ask for a better place to enjoy a film
Comfortable seats, big screen and has that old community feel. Seen some great movies there!
Fun experience.
Great old style theater. Lcbo and good popcorn. 1 screen but they offer a variety of movies.
Cozy theater playing old classics!
Had a private event here hosted by content creators from Los Angeles. They did a good job! Staff were helpful and provided drinks and popcorn to the staff. Provided us partitions to help with the massive crowd that showed up for the event. They were very patient with us when things got crazy and we had piles of people lining up outside. Nice neighbourhood with friendly people. The only issue in this place was the rats that roamed through the theatre during the show. Luckily no one noticed..
I went to a private screening here and loved it. Old school theatre.
Went here for a school event and it was a pretty good experience. Really good feel to the small theatre, and great place for event hosting
Wonderful. Highly recommended.
Loved this historic movie theatre! Such a great cozy and welcoming vibe and really friendly staff. So much better than the huge theatres these days. Hope this sticks around!!!
The best.
A hidden gem in Toronto - this is one of the best movie experiences in town! Love that they have washrooms at the back of their theater, and the monthly screenings are always awesome.
My favourite repertory movie theater in Toronto because of a great selection of films, comfortable old fashioned chairs, big screen and fantastic schedule, staff and snacks.
Cool place for older movies
It’s a nice place in beautiful neighbourhood
Such an interesting theatre with a cool vibe. Loved it and will definitely be back
Comfy chairs and grand old style film theatre. Love this place.
This place is over 100 years old. Love it.
Ok theatre. Good to support a small buisness.
One of the best independent theatres in Toronto.
Love this theatre. It's homey, classic, fun, cool, and much cheaper than the first run megatheatre chains.
Cute theatre in the beaches.
Great independent where you can see re-runs of old movies, themed nights (Alien 40th anniversary, the Shining at xmas) . I never begrudge them the cost of popcorn, and they are licenced, too.
They have friendly service along with great indie and recent movies. Oh and they serve beer and the ticks are cheap! A perfect community alternative to the price gouging theaters.
Classic independent theater, must experience this place at least once in your life
Love this place. I won't go to Cineplex anymore. The Fox or VIP only, where people are there to enjoy the movie experience, not on their phones or kicking seats or talking.
This is a Toronto institution. I'm so happy to be able to support this single screen theatre. Bonus: they're liquor licensed!
Great service ,Great movies
My home away from home! Love the Fox!
Comfortable, clean and very nostalgic. Old theatre but not run down. Great snack bar
A must visit
Very reasonably priced and friendly staff. If you're not in a rush to see movies when they come out I highly recommend this theatre.
Great space for movie watching
Greatest theatre in the Beaches.
Great place to watch a movie along with a popcorn and softdrink.... right in the neighborhood
Best place for a flick
Much more relaxing than going to a multiplex. The seats are comfortable, there's tons of leg room, washrooms are just back of the auditorium, staff are courteous, popcorn is excellent. And a major plus - audiences are respectful.
This place is excellent! The films they show are always great quality and the ticket prices are very reasonable compared to larger theatres, especially when you purchase a membership, which is also quite reasonably priced. The membership is worth it, as you will want to be coming back - and it lasts a year. There are around 100 or so seats, so it is very cozy. I usually see movies here about once a month and it is always my preferred movie theatre.
Meeh
Iconic.
Great theatre with comfortable seats. Old fashioned theatre that plays a lot of old movies. I watched Nosferatu around Halloween. What a treat to watch this vintage movie on the big screen. If you go to this theatre do not sit in the back 5 or so rows because you can here everyone flushing the toilet and washing their hands.
Comfortable seating, good audio, staff went above and beyond to ensure a great experience.
Went for a private event, venue is nice and the seats are comfortable. Food prices are pretty good
My daughter and I came to see an interactive movie, Harry Potter. It was a terrible experience. It was very dark when we entered the theatre and there was no one to greet us or escort us to our seats. According to the advertising poster, we were supposed to get a grab bag of goodies. There was a gummy worm and two jelly beans that were in a zip lock bag which were not wrapped. The candies could easily have been easily mishandled and contaminated with bacteria. My daughter and I decided not to eat the candy. In my opinion, these candies were not safe to eat and could very well pose a public health risk . The interactive movie experience was nothing special. There were several ushers running around spraying people with water bottles.
What a great date night with my hubby! Comfortable seats, great drink selection, I had loose leaf tea my favourite! The whole night was fabulous!
Hope it stays this way forever
The Fox is my local theatre and a community hub. I have been a member since the 1970s. I love the place. I do most of my film watching there.
A local and long standing neighborhood classic. Recent renos look great and glad to see this stalwart set-up for the future. Love the fact that it's licensed for drinks now too.
Best popcorn. Love this theatre. You can even have a drink. The mood is very cozy old school movie theatre from childhood. Love it too much.
This a surprisingly good theatre. It's not got one screen and its smaller than your usual Ciniplex but the seats were very comfortable. They show a mix of big budget films and smaller films that might not get shown elsewhere.
I love everything about this place. I hope its here for generations to come.
Sound was garbled and hard to understand but a great old fashioned theatre experience and great reasonable prices
Great place
Such a great review theatre. They play classics and hold events. It's affordable fun for families and dates alike. I went to a Cineplex movie with free passes last week. It still cost me more than the Fox. They have beer and wine, great popcorn, clean, newly renovated washrooms. Such great staff! It's worth the short wait for a flick to come to the Fox!
Beautiful theatre....over 100 yrs old!
Not to be compared with Cineplex but unique none the less. Good people and great movies, new and old.
Great old theatre that has movies a couple months after release. Serves beer too.
This is how films should be seen!
Classic movie theatre. Great selection of movies. Best movie house popcorn anywhere. And you can have a beer with it.
Amazing theatre. The screen is HUGE, the popcorn is delicious, the price is comparable to slightly more cost effective than Cineplex. It's a very unique venue with many of the original or old aspects still there. I got a real kick out of the old candy bar (not in service but still there.) The sound could use an upgrade- my partner doesn't hear very well and struggled a bit. I'd really rate it 4.5- the sound was fine for me but I did note it wasn't as crisp as what I was used to in the big guys theatre. Great to support a local theatre and will continue to frequent it.
One of the few remaining beautiful independent theaters in this city. Spacious and cozy, with refreshingly affordable snacks!
Love the comfy seats and the short trailers before the show. Coming to the Fox feels like a real movie experience. The first movie I saw here was 'Snowpiercer', and my surroundings made the experience all the richer for it.
It was COVID time, the seats were well spaced and it felt very safe -- and I saw a great film. I love The Fox!
Great place to go see movies that have been released for a while. It is cheap both admission and food. The popcorn made here is one of my favorites. The seats are big and comfortable with leg room that matches no other. Would recommend
Love the Fox, spent a great deal of time here during my youth in the 80's, a real historic gem!
Review cinema in the beaches. Has a nice local ambience. Sell wine and beer too.
Great films. Gives off a nostalgic vibe. Popcorn and snacks are delicious. The Fox theater is definitely worth it for a great night out.
enjoyed the movie and the drink selection
The Fox theatre is a charming little blast from the past. Its only got one screen, but it sits enough people. The concession has candy, popcorn, pop and a selection of 6-8 beers. Check it out if youre a movie lover or theatre geek!
Great place
Great place. Historic theatre
For a 40 to 60 year old or older movie theater sound and video of movie was great saw recent movie for same price for lower than many of the participating chains the participating chains Fox theater has been a mainstay of part of the Festival series of which most architecturally have been torn down by now and the Fox still remains very bright and true in my heart.
Fantastic old school theatre. They play movies that are no longer in the major cinemas. They sell beer and classic theater foods(don't ask for a hot dog).
Love this old-style theatre! It's packed every time I go, so plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early!
The absolute BEST place to watch a movie - hands down!
Old style and spacious theatre in a good neighborhood. Comfortable place to watch movies.
I like it for being a independent theatre ,they usually show good movies there , it's the oldest theatre in Canada keep it going ,by going.
Terrific service.
Charming little theatre on East side.
Great old theatre with a huge screen. Nice to be able to watch the movie with a good beer.
Old school new feel the one time bastion of old "B" movies now reborn as a festival theater. It will survive
What a treat. Best popcorn in town!
A classic old styled theatre that serves beer, enough said!
Terrific vibe, alcohol, yummy popcorn
A charming and very comfortable art deco movie theatre. Part of Hot Docs festival.
Nostalgia teamed with wine/beer and popcorn and great prices. A must see.
Cozy and retro. Comparable sound system to the bigger competition.
cute
Pretty good, comfortable seats, polite crowd (no much talking). The schedule for a new month isn't posted until the month begins sometimes making it hard to plan.
Old time movie theatre. Really comfy seats. Great leg room. Bathrooms not so great.
Wonderful to visit a watch a movie in a historic.
Great local theatre, one screen. Serves beer
The Fox theatre is the Keystone business of East Queen East. Currently under renovation, its seen better days but still provides a classic repertory theatre experience.
Good service and seats. They also sell some good quality beer for the show. Popcorn tasted burnt but it wasn't. Machine could use a clean.
Great ticket and concession prices. Super comfy chairs that can lean back. Is part of the "Movies for Mommies" program one Wednesday per month to help mum's have some time outside of the house with baby. Members get 10% off and you can rent out the theater for events.
Love the Fox. The seats, the space. Been going there for 40 years
Have been to this theatre alot and I always like the small town feel of it. Friendly staff, comfy seats, tasty popcorn! I was moved to write after attending an interactive Harry Potter event with my friends and kids. We had a fun time! The two young women at the door were great with the kids, chatted to them about their costumes and explained what was in their activity bags. I like that everyone seemed to be having fun! The bag had snacks, glow wands and a few other things to use during the movie. There was water sprayed at us in a rain storm, balls thrown around in the audience during quidditch, paper airplanes to throw and two witches riding up the aisles on brooms. We laughed a lot and really hope they do more events like this one.
Love this quaint neighbourhood theatre. We are lucky to have. ❤
