After the makeover of the seats this place is the best for families on a budget. The tickets are cheap, the popcorn and soda are reasonable, and the theater is CLEAN!!! This includes the bathrooms. the staff were VERY nice. Wish all theaters can follow their lead. We have come here in the past but now with the new seats I would say it is going to be much harder to get us out of the theater now :-) I will admit we have been to other theaters [the drive in is awesome but that is its own category] i.e. gurnee, wisconsin, illinois and this has to be my number one pick for anyone who wants to enjoy the movie experience!

Pulling up to Fox Lake Theatre, you may find yourself a little concerned. From the outside, the building may appear small. The truth, though, is that Classic Cinemas has a really nice theater here. The seats are large, new, clean, reclining, and heated. The screens are pretty decent at well. The one thing I occasionally notice is that the sound system seems to be slightly underwhelming compared to competitors. However, the consistent value of ticket prices and cozy, homey theater vibe make this one of my favorite places to see a film.

Fox Lake Theatre had a makeover recently and it is even better than Regal Cinemas it now has heated and adjustable recliners I just saw HellBoy last night and the Theatre was beautiful and it was one of the best nights of all time. Thank you so much Fox Lake Theatre for being so kind and considerate. I'll be back there on April 26th to see The Avengers End Game with guests. If I could I would rate Fox Lake Theatre with 10 Stars. Loved it

This theater isn’t that bad. The chairs are comfortable and the view is nice. It’s the PEOPLE that are the issue. I didn’t know this theater had so many Karen’s. You better be perfect or else a Karen is going to find a way to talk behind your back about something minimal and not even address it if they had an issue. Other than that the staff is good.

Fantastic experience today! This is our go to theater now. Prices are reasonable on tickets and concession, plus they offer free refills! 2 things that impressed me most: 1. They have new reclining seats that are heated, HEATED, it’s game changer for me ! 2. The service was stellar from the guy selling tickets to the concession and then another taking our tickets going into the movie. We even saw an usher taking people to their seats. I was impressed- very cozy, quaint and hospitable. We will be back, thank you !

Fox Lake Theatres is like any other small to mid sized theatre in that they are struggling to stay afloat during hard economic times. They have cut back as much as they can and still manage to provide a good theatre going experience. Fairly priced with specials occasionally and relatively clean environment. Free parking, a full concession stand, friendly staff and always a good selection of movies. Restrooms are clean and well stocked.

The Bad: Movie hasnt even started and Im already diappointed by this theater n this is my 1ST TIME HERE I was offered to get a rewards cards I applied online 3 time even the manager applied for me from his computer and I never received a email confirmation THE ISSUE WAS FINALLI FIX HOURS LATER after I already spent over $30 Im sure I wont get the points for ... I do not like the one level seating its bad for small children if a tall person is sitting in front of them its best to get closer seats to the screen in this theater (pictured was my view for the night and I had small children with me as well) They lack selection they have the basics nachos candy pop drinks and popcorn but I guess thats what makes this classic The Good: The seats are heated, They have good polite customer service for the most part, The FREE REFILLS on certain items and the price is good My review was dislike it but its okay but seeing I drove for 40 mins away it wasnt worth it to me but if your local Im sure its nice for you

God, this place is nostalgic!! I've always went here with my brother and sister to see new/upcoming releases or movies that have had sequels n' such. The inside is very big and booming, the decor blends well with the chill/mellow vibe of the place, the food isn't bad (nachos, popcorn toppings, etc), and from the many times I've been there staff has always been considerate, attentive, kind, cheery, sincere, and respectful. From the front to the seats in the theatre rooms everything is clean and inviting.

Thought I was going to have a good time but after this experience I will not be attending this theater anymore. Definitely the theater to go to for the classic cinema experience, as prices here are low enough to justify the lack of renovation (I'm looking at you, AMC Classic). If you enjoy smaller screens with often far fewer viewers in the room with you, especially younger viewers, this is the place for you. Where else can you see a 3D movie for $7-8 (if you are into that kind of thing) or a general showing for $5-6? If you are the kind of person who likes to try out all sorts of theaters (like me, if you look at the other many theaters I have reviewed) then this is also a theater for you. If you don't like the run-down, unrenovated feel, this is not the place for you.

A small jewel in a crowded market of larger cinema company's. Tickets are budget everyday. Consession priced lower then market average. Reclining chairs with seat warmer, perfectly A/C to escape the summer heat. Staff are very friendly and the theater still has its vintage vibe. I'm no hipster but I love the feeling of walking into a place that feels of not of this time. This is the place. Enjoy!

I'd still say this is my favorite theater. Prices are great. Screens and audio are also very good. This theater has had it's seating remodeled. All new reserved stadium seating with loungers. Online ticket reservations fees are only $1 per ticket. Really a great place to watch a movie.

A wonderful movie franchise that offers even more entertainment upon the marquis than one can see without the glasses. Today just 85 days after August 22nd I met Nick who apparently is directing a movie starring Queen Elizabeth. Nick is one of those techies who informed me that he himself is utilizing 60 virtual reality gear for a full immersion experience into the certain blockbuster "Kong vs. Queen Zilla. This means we will be able to look up, down, right and left and connect four directions of motion before our eyes! Nick is working with his neighbors at Ace Hardware and Something Fishy Pet Shop to spin it all together. Ron at he pet shop has allowed Nick and I to scan and render "Queen Zilla" in a CAD program and he folks at ACE are allowing us to use their Clark & Kensinton paint swatch index along with Benjamin Moore & Valspar to write the script of light. So imagine now the green hue of Liz upon a giant Iguana with a Floppy Hat and drinking from a Cup of Tea. It's the Chopped Sage meal fit for a King. So be prepared to mark your calendar with a (Lizard - Iguana - Chameleon - Hyena) or LICH.

Hands down the best cinema experience I ever had. Not going anywhere else ever again for as long as I continue to live in this area. I wish I knew of this place sooner. Seats are super comfy and the place is very clean. Staff is friendly. Doesn't even compare to regal in RL, Gurnee cinema is similar but still not quite as good as the fox lake one, not even close. Worth every penny

Ok, this was such a cool Theatre. The seats were So warm and cozy. Big seats with lots of leg room. You could easily get up out of your seat to leave the theatre for a refill or bathroom break and not worry too much about asking a bunch of movie goers to "Excuse" you as you made your way out. Clean, well kept facility. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also stood outside of the movie as it let out and had a bowl of little mints as thy bid you farewell. A place that will make you smile.

Still has a classic look at the front desk, with a very nice staff; of course free refills for large size. Went to go see Trolls with the whole family and great seating. Kids had a great time, mask were required when entering but once at our seat, as long as you have space, you may take off your mask.

I go here almost every week, it is my favorite place to go. Ever since I started dating my boyfriend we come here, watch a random movie and get a slushy. They have amazing prices on movies, and the price for movie snacks is amazingly low, plus popcorn and slushees and soda have free refills. This place is great for people of all ages, the new seats are clean and warm. The food is amazing and the staff are *always friendly. The owner has a kind of introduction before each movie and it is one of the most welcoming things I’ve ever seen. He seems like such a kind person. * the only reason I give it 4/5 stars is that I always felt welcomed coming here and even after this one incident, I will always be coming back. Unfortunately during one of the last movies I watched there, I got the same slushee that I always get, which I refill maybe 2 times during the movies usually (free refills) Anyways, I went for my second refill and a staff member I hadn’t met before was the only one there. I waited in line for a long time because there was a lot of people. It was my turn next when I stepped up, he just left from behind the counter and went towards a different theater. I was really confused and waited for a bit longer, when I went and looked he was talking to the ticket checker towards one of the theaters. I called out to him and asked if I could gets some help. He looked at me shook his head and continued to talk. After about 2 more minutes I called to him again and he nodded again, his co-worker seemed to nudge him over at this point and he finally walked over. I have him my cup as he glared at me and told me something of the extent of “wow, another refill? Are you sure you need it?” It really threw me off and made me pretty angry. I got my drink and walked back to the movie, but it ended up ruining my night. Other than that one incident, the place is wonderful, welcoming and friendly.

Have always enjoyed going to movies at the Fox Lake Theatre. We've been going there for nearly 20 years. However, the last couple of times we have gone there, my 11 year old has complained that the sound was making his ears hurt. When we go to other theaters in the area my son doesn't have a problem with the sound. Maybe it's time to stop going to Fox Lake Theatre.

This theater is a hidden gem! It's comfortable, with heated recliner seats, it doesn't get much better than this cozy theater. I would high recommend coming here if you don't like big crowded places. Popcorn is quite good too, and they have a place where you can put those yummy popcorn flavorings on!

My sister and I went to Fox Lake Theater on Memorial Day with the intentions to see Aladdin (my favorite Disney classic) at 1:45 only to find out that it was sold out. They only had one theater in the mid-afternoon on Memorial Day showing the hottest movie out right now. Poor management if you ask me.

Good, clean theater. Friendly and courteous staff. Could use a remodel - the seating isn't as nice as some other area theatres - but then again, the ticket prices are lower here as well. Tuesday night is discount night (currently $5.00), so take advantage of that, if possible.

The update they've done for the theatre is amazing. Very comfortable reclining seats that are heated or cooled, ample space. You cannot beat the prices either; between my husband and I we paid about 30$ for 2 tickets, 2 large drinks and a large popcorn. Anywhere else you can easily pay almost 30 just for the tickets. Staff is friendly enough, theatres reasonably clean upon entry. Definitely my go to for all my movie going

Wow. The Fox Lake theater is amazing to go too. This theater will be the one I go to from now on. I recently lived in Indiana and theaters there don't compare. I've never been in a theater with recliner seats and a button for a seat warmer as well. I saw Black Widow on Thursday night and it was 6.00. Compared to Indiana opening night prices being 9.00+, it was cheap. It's also very clean inside and the employees Ghost and Joey were very helpful with helping me buy my ticket and getting my popcorn and drink.

Went here at 9:30 in the Morning! Fox Lk Theater, was having their Summer Movies for Kids/Family. It was Only $1.00 to get in. Even Adults.. We saw the Movie.. FERDINAND.. It was very good. There are 3 more DATES for Morning Shows.... July 25, August 1st., and August 2nd. Doors open at 9:00 am Movie starts at 10:00 am ENJOY!!!!!

Low prices. Good service. Not crowded. $6 everyday, even weekends before 6p Update: previously 5 stars. This used to be my favorite place to go to the movies since forever ago when I first found it, and occasionally, once a week in last 2yrs. I decided to stop giving this place anymore of my money due to last 3 visits in a period of 8months, due to workers being horrible to my 16yr old Son with Autism and speech problems, no obvious physical differences. (I've put the first example last). 2nd visit My son was asking for our 2 tickets and the girl was irritated that he was talking slow, rolling her eyes, and huffing impatiently, 3rd visit as soon as we walked in 2 workers(one was from earlier visit) were starring at him, as we walked from ticket stand to concessions, I noticed them laughing, giggling while looking at him, doing some of the hand movements my son does. I came home furious and told my boyfriend of 10yrs of my 2 experiences, He then told me that when he came with us last, he too didn't like how the workers treated him and he felt like they were teasing him. I didn't know this until I told him what had just happened in this place. I purposely waited to write this review because I knew I was too angry and would just be a jerk with my review. I find that even talking about this place causes me resentment and feeling of hate because of the memories towards the end and I never wanna go back because I won't ever let this go. Some sensitivity training would definitely benefit any business if they want to succeed.

I prefer to watch most of my movies at this theater. The staff is always friendly. Price of popcorn and drinks are not as bad when compared to other theaters and they are refillable. They just upgraded their seats to heated leather recliners. Even better.
