This is my favorite Athens theater. Most of its screens have been remodeled with giant cushy chairs, and their matinee hours are inviting. Other theaters are closer to me, but I almost invariably watch movies at Beechwood.

They say they want equality but do not include everyone… The deaf/ hearing impaired should not have to sit through a movie without CC. They offered zero accommodations. Absolutely ridiculous. That’s like the hearing going to see a movie while wearing a blindfold. Pointless.

I thought I liked this place, but I've realized that this theater does not care at all about the presentation of the movies themselves. I've noticed that they do not bother to show a film in its correct aspect ratio, which can be noticed in things like opening credits or other text on screen. Also, one screening I saw, the movie randomly stopped, and the screen started showing the First Look previews. A minute later, the movie resumed, but not where it left off. Also, the lights in the auditorium turned back on.

Deaf people lives matter. When you can’t get an access that works for closed captioning... Free tickets isn’t going to fix it. To go through the same thing again. I like this Theater, employees are nice enough, a couple PR classes and they could shine right up, but. But the pop corn leaves a great deal to be desired. My suggestion to the owners is; please change vendors or product as I've decided: I can not to spend hard earned funds on very poor and cold, unsatisfying popcorn. Nice Theater though.

The movie was great but the theater was freezing to the point that people left and purchased blankets from CVS next door for their kids. Several people complained but absolutely nothing was done to make anyone comfortable. So very sad it ruined the visit for sure.

My wife and I went to see Rocketman a couple days ago and for some reason when there was a quiet spot in the movie, we could hear another movie's sounds bleeding through into our movie. Very disappointing since I had always really enjoyed watching movies here. It might just be the specific screen it played on since I don't recall noticing it happen in the past.

I love this theater. Kind of tucked away in the Beechwood shopping center. They recently remodeled the inside and it looks really nice. They usually show the major studio tentpoles and the occasional art-house film.

as a former employee, I can honestly say that quitting this awful place was one of my best decisions. when Ale was the manager, I loved my job. but, the new manager is the reason why I quit, and little does he know, he is the reason for the loss of all of the employees after me. he's also the reason why he's about to lose even more of his employees. he is arrogant and rude and harsh and I feel bad for my friends that have to work with him every day, including the assistant managers that I'm very close with. not only is the GM a huge prick, but I came and saw a movie and had a huge bug crawl up my arm from inside the seat while I was eating popcorn. now, let's sit back and watch him do absolutely nothing about the bug problem or the way that his harsh demeanor affects his employees. (only rated 5 stars so people can see)

We attend Beechwood more than University 16 because its less expensive & more restaurants are nearby. It could stand an upgrade as mentioned in earlier reviews. One thing that I don't understand is why it is so cold in the theatre. In the middle of the summer, I have to wear a light weight jacket to be comfortable. Glad someone else pays the air conditioning bill. Has someone found a correlation between being cold and consumption of popcorn.? Staff is always friendly, and the lines move along. Save yourself some frustration and park behind the theatre.

They're fine. The theaters are generally clean, they always have the latest big hits, they move lines along fairly quickly but they also fail to be outstanding in any way at this location, unlike Cine downtown which has an immense personality and added value. But, since they only have two screens and favor independents, if there's a 3D blockbuster I want to see first run in Athens, I see it here.

If you are looking for a theatre with the old classic cinema feel to it without all the filth and atmosphere of a run down budget theatre, this is the place to go. They show a wide variety of the best just-released movies without all the extra frill that you get from an AMC theatre-- that's not to say that AMC theatres are anything less than great, but the change in atmosphere is very welcoming and I can honestly say my first experience watching a movie here felt like a step back in time to the old cinemas from the 70s.

I can't count how many times we've been to this location and it never disappoints. We've gone on super busy release days and slow days and have never had a bad experience. The staff and management are always very nice and accommodating. We always stop to grab a drink at the bar prior to our showtime and have had nothing but wonderful interaction with the bar staff. I can't remember the young lady's name, but she always remembers what I had the previous time and always has a smile on her face which is very welcoming and appreciated. The renovations that have occurred so far are pretty cool too.

Nicely made over older theater but some of the old bones visible underneath the new look. Low key decor and discreet lighting in the halls is oddly reminiscent of a four star hotel. Serves usual concessions as well as other food. Nice bar area in former lobby. Expect to pay higher theater prices. Comfy seats in the small theater I was in, that sadly did not recline. Sufficient leg room for those under six feet tall, so okay. One problem with the old building that persists is the poor air circulation in the restrooms. They tend to feel and smell a bit swampy. (My SO confirmed the issue was shared by the Men's room.) Getting tickets for the shows was a bit frustrating. There were two kiosks placed very close together and a milling group of people who wanted to buy tickets. Touch screens at the kiosks seemed a little overwhelmed. But not as overwhelmed as one or two older patrons who appeared confused by lack of directions on the home screen. Crowds at the concession stand and moving about in the lobby added to the general confusion. Some reassessment of traffic flow would go a long way.

The popcorn tastes strange (not sure if it’s the popcorn itself or the butter) the theater is always clean and the chairs are so comfy!!! I’ve gone twice and didn’t have a problem until last night: A group of girls were being obnoxiously loud in the Venom film, and on top of that someone had a TODDLER with them who was shrieking the WHOLE time and ruining the experience. We ended up moving to the front row just to put some distance between us and all the sounds (because the girls and baby child were both in the last three rows area where we were sitting.

This theatre has stepped up their game well over the past few years! We love going to the flashback cinemas. A couple of weeks ago, we went on the Sunday that Grease was showing. They were really short staffed, but the girl taking tickets was super kind, and the blonde guy working the concessions was really nice and personable, even though he was the only one serving a constant line of people with complicated snack orders. He did well taking orders, and got them together quickly and neatly. If I were still working with Chick-Fil-a, I probably would have tried to recruit him, as well as the girl who was taking tickets. I really wish the manager on duty would have went to help them, or found a way to get them some help, regardless of the scheduling flaws, or call outs. Things happen though, and everyone at the theatre did a great job of keeping up. I really wish they did a membership like AMC does (they might, but I haven’t heard of it), so I typically end up at AMC since I am an A-list member and save so much money. However, coming to this theatre is a TREAT! It may be an old building, but they keep it up nicely!

Id like to start by saying in my formative youth I lived at your theater, I probably saw 5 movies a month. With that being said I love the remodel, it looks very nice. The purpose of this email is this weekend I tool my so to see that God Awful movie the power rangers and while they took there seats I went to order food for my family consisting of 1 drink, 2 entrees and 3 condiments for a total of 6 items....I know what your thinking, not to hard to remember that right? After the cashier took my order about 10 minutes later a girl from the kitchen brought up 2 boxes with my food so I grabbed my Drink and food and went to the theater to watch the movie. Of course My wife immidietly asked wheres the condiments? Did you not ask for Ranch and honey mustard for the Chicken fingers? You didn't ask them for ketchup for Logans fries? I said why of course Dear! I then proceeded to walk Back up to the restaurant area where a group of people had formed (its 730 on a Saturday so of course its a little crowded....like 8-12 people so not that crowded) I then wait 23 minutes....No Im not making that up, I wait 23 minutes so I can re request what I had 33 minutes ago and just when I think hes going to call on me he darts over to the other end of the Bar and takes the order of 2 people who had just walked up. About 3 minutes later the girl from the Kitchen walks out and I request to go and get the other items I had ordered, really I WILL GO AND GET THEM!! Lord knows I do not want to waste another 30 minutes. So in Conclusion please either A: Hire more staff to assist the Cashier(he was continuously working so Its not like hes lazy) or B: Leave Condiments out so Customers can get them there selves.

You need to hire management that knows how to operate the equipment to resolve technical problems. We saw Summer Of Soul tonight which is a music documentary and all the musical performances were muted. Basically the whole stereo field was missing. I assume because either the side speakers were not turned or the signal to them was pulled all the way down (or they were muted). I inquired to the manager or asst manager that was working tonight (7-8-21) who said he would look into it and apparently he didn't know how to fix it other than turning up the volume on the center speaker...which did not fix the issue, it only made the mono dialoge loud. If you want to see something and HEAR IT as it's supposed to be go to Cine. Don't spend your money here unless it's just taking some kids to some animated kids film. We certainly won't be back.

Good theatre. Ample parking and ideal entrance way. Friendly employees. Closed the food/drinks down before the end of the movie - so ehhh. Layout is pretty good in auditorium 08. Would have been better had the movie started on time. I should not have had to call the theatre to alert them of their issue and request that they fix set issue. However the employee who did pick up the phone was quick to rectify it and get us started - kudos to her.

I am a long time customer having gone here for over a decade. In all that time the theater has been very good on supplying a good movie experience. Nowadays a lot has changed and for the better. The inclusion of a restuarant and bar has really allowed for a better experience by allowing you to bring good quality food and alcohol into any of the theaters. Beyond that the staff is always friendly and quick to help and the entire building is very clean with only the occasional sticky floor from a spilled drink or nacho combo. A definite choice to go to if you want to see a movie.

Place is disgusting all the chairs are ripped or broke and they don’t clean them all you see is butter residue on them. I ordered the #2 combo witch come with a medium popcorn large drink and a candy and when I ask how much it costs the lady said $14.00 and when I paid it charged me for $18.00. I ask why it did that and they said that’s the price for the drink and popcorn. And they add the candy on separate witch cost the extra $4 so in other word the place is disgusting and they like to scam their customers. Will not come back.

One time I went to the manager's office to tell them how much I liked the theater. I was about to knock on the door when I heard an older gentleman's voice behind the door loudly singing along to Rock Lobster, but he was singing the chorus as "cock monster". The teenager in the box office looked very nervous. 5 stars.

I used to come to this theatre frequently and had been for nearly 20 years. I tried to go here my cousin who is 15 to see the movie Sully, about the plane that landed in the Hudson river but they would not allow it. They have s rule here that doesn't allow anyone under the age of 18 to see any movies after 8pm unless accompanied by someone over the age of 21. My 15 year old cousin and I (19) can both drive cars, I can buy guns, lottery tickets, cigarettes, and explosives but can not go see a movie with someone who is old enough to do most of those things. I assume the rule is to prevent the theatre from becoming a day care but get real. Its a stupid rule and from now on I'm going to University 16. I

This theater is unique in Athens as they have the newest nicest seating in some theaters for the new release movies, and also have older theaters that they show throwback movies on during different times of the month. It is great to be able to go to the theater and watch old classics like Indiana Jones, The Princess Bride, A Christmas Story, or Die Hard on the big screen again!

I went over to movies over the weekend and had a issues with the food. Asked to speak to manager and she was very rude. Her Name was JOY. My food had hair in it. Long string of black hair. Not once did she say I’ll replace it or refund. She is a terrible manager and when I asked for corporate number she declined.

This is a place that I visit at least once every other weekend because I work with two guys with disabilities and they love the movies. Yesterday we visited as we do on the weekends and I experienced racial profiling at it's best . I will never step foot in this place again if I could leave no stars or a NEGATIVE star I would! Unacceptable!

The price for the matinee was reasonable and beat out the competition. I was happy about the ticket price, however the price for your entrees are ridiculous. The food wasn't spectacular and there was enough to call it a snack at best. For three entrees and drinks it was $50! That is ridiculous. I will not be back.

I have been to several movies here and it’s a great experience every time. The ticketing is fast and simple, the workers are friendly, and the theaters are also clean. The location is great too, with lots of shopping and restaurants in the shopping center.

This was my first time since Covid that I had been to a theater. It was clean. They still recommend a mask but it is not mandatory. The staff was pleasant and I do believe it was fairly reasonable for tickets. With large drink and large popcorn ot is limitless for refills making it a better overall deal. I am certain that we will return!

Theater has been upgraded since I had been there last, and is in really good shape. The seats are comfortable and sound is good quality. They are taking Covid precautions to keep patrons safe.
