Spiderman Homecoming on the 3D AVX screen was amazing and the D-Box seating brought the experience from a 4 to a 5. Best of all the ticket only cost 1500 scene points..

Conveniently close to college. Not crowded at all. Very few show options and prices are high. I would recommend to go only if you're dying to see a new movie you have been anxiously expecting. Otherwise, the movie theatre experience is not worth the price.

Same to see the new Star Wars movie. Purchased our tickets online ahead of time. No problems scanning them. Concession staff were friendly. They sell alcohol now which is kind of fun. Facilities were all clean. Great spot!

Nice theater but prices are skyhigh at the concession stand now. I was charged $2.50 for butter on my popcorn at that price i could have bought a tub of it. This is why Netflix is still the better choice unless you really really have to see the movie. Not a worth while date night option anymore since most movies are hit and miss these days.

I went to see Avengers End Game with my family. We took in a matineè so we were able to have the seats that we wanted - right in the middle. We enjoyed the movie, though it was far too long IMO. The seats were comfy and reclined a bit. Good leg room, too. I usually find that theatres have lousy sound and compensate by making it too loud for my comfort. The sound in this theatre was ok.

Went tot rhe Cineplex Barrie NorthEnd and bought the DX seats that move and it was fun! The movie Cptn Marvel was only 5 out of 10, but the seats made the movie! Not cheap but for the big movies it is worth it. Must do for Averagers End Game!

I've seen a few films here and it's always a pleasant experience. Seats are comfortable and great for date night. Sound is incredible and not overwhelming. Other guests are usually the deciding factor but all around a respectable crowd this time.

Standard Cineplex cinema but the location itself is fantastic. Surrounded by restaurants, lots of parking, they keep it nice and clean and the staff are super friendly. I live in Orillia but I almost always drive down to this theater for movies. Awesome awesome awesome.

Been here a few times and it's an amazing addition to the north end of Barrie. Very clean and the staff is very responsive and attentive. Taking 3 kids is quite difficult for one person but the staff assisted me without being prompted.

I am so very grateful that there is aCineplex in the north end of Barrie now! The location is incredibly convenient, and there is plenty of dining available around the theater. It often feels like there is never enough staff at the ticket booth, yet I often see stuff standing around chatting while there is quite line up to purchase tickets… Aside from some lineups, the staff are quite friendly, the location is very clean and pricing is what you would expect at Cineplex. Popcorn has always been fresh so far.

Tickets are slightly cheaper now but the video quality is horrible. I went to see Old last night, the entire movie had the quality of the SD tv's that were around in the early 2000s. Everything was fuzzy and grainy. And even though the entire theater had no lights on at all, you couldnt make anything out during dark or night time movie scenes. There was a girl a few seats down from me comparing the quality of the screen by taking her prescription glasses on and off. That's how bad it was

The theater was great and super clean but the d box was TRASH. The seats didn't even work until the last hour and was a complete waste of money. I'll never get d box ever again specifically because of this experience. The seats were also SUPER uncomfortable.... I hated it.

AVX screen and sound is great, one distraction for me are the two emergency exit lights on each side of the screen, which are considerably too bright and distracting during darker scenes. Never noticed this at any other Cineplex location. Of course lights are mandatory, but fine tuning the brightness would be appreciated. Perhaps it's my OCD talking, but after all it's all about the visual experience.

Nice place and a convenient location. EDIT: Overcrowded as all hell. They never have the box office open so theres huge lines at the concession and sells serve ticket stations. It took us half an hour to get our tickets today.

First occasion at this Cineplex location. Watched Deadpool 2, Saturday 19 May, 2018. Decent check-in, ticket purchase. Very much appreciate being able to arrange for specific seats. Lay-out very well thought out. I may be going to the newer Barrie North end Cineplex, rather than the South end from now.

Movies are very dim. Management does nothing about it. This is getting more common in large theatres today because 1. Management has no idea how to operate digital projectors properly 2. Digital projectors cost more in electricity so their brightness is turned down.

When compared to the South-end Galaxy Cinema: Nicer lobby layout and general appeal. Significantly less arcade macines/games. The theatre rooms themselves are the same level of quality. The same seating arrangement (slanted upwards from the bottom, with handicap seats in the front row) TL;DR: Smaller than south-end location while maintaining the same level of quality.

Brand new theatre with convenient location right off the highway, close to restaurants and coffee shops so you can grab a bite to eat before you catch a movie. Theatre is clean with friendly service. I especially loved all the little Birthday rooms that can hold theme parties for the kiddies.

There was no social distancing at last night's Spiderman Movie. They crammed us all into the prime seats, no spaces in-between people that did not know each other. Be warned! Very disappointed not better rules. You cannot eat popcorn but the guy next to you is 2 feet away.

My husband and I went to see the House of Gucci for a last minute date after finishing a more stressful work week. Michael who greeted at the door checking our ID and vacc passport was absolutely fantastic. So kind and made our visit great from the start. The entire staff was an absolute delight. Which is exactly what I needed!!! I made a point of saying something to the manager I believe it was. Thank you very much!!

Nice theatre. Parking lot is difficult to navigate, and has far too few parking spaces due to restaurants sharing the same lot. If it's a busy time of night, prepare for a hike!

Times written during COVID Seat selection does not enforce social distancing which I believe doesn't make sense . You can't have food or drink and kind of ruins the experience. Staff is not motivated and engaged , but I can't blame them , how do you be motivating and entertaining when you're just policing all day . Experience was meh , they forgot to turn off the projector room light for the first 30 mins . I would like to write a new review after the pandemic

Terrible. Just went in and they advertised the movie skyscraper as a standard movie and than they proceeded to tell us it was in D Box. I asked the manager and even showed her the add and she didn't give us any honouring of the standard price but charged us the d-box rate. I called head office and they didn't honour the shown price online. Terrible service by both the manager and head office. Won't be back here again.

Good movie, but overall NOT impressed. The place was a pig pen! It looked like the theater had not been cleaned all day. Lots of junk (popcorn, cups, etc) on the floor. But, the worst part was the seats. Very difficult to find a seat that was not greasy, salty, or had smushed-in M&M's all over it. I was worried about getting my family's clothes all dirty! I spoke to a so-called "manager", but she just said "sorry, sorry" and something about it being a kids' movie and "...sometimes we miss the seats because they fold up". It wasn't just one seat, but many! She did not really take responsibility for anything. I have never been in such a filthy movie theater! And, we paid full price for tonight's experience! :(

I work with Austic individuals and sometimes it can be very overwhelming when doing things in large groups, but the staff here where very kind and accommodating- they even got us 10 seats all next to each other with can be very difficult with the social distancing aspects for movie theaters. You did however proof of vaccine as well as your identification.

For the record, I have never taken the time to write a bad review in my life, however I was so appalled by the conduct of the manager during my visit I feel this is necessary! My fiancé and I have 5 kids, date night is rare! And we attended the movie Thor on Tuesday evening. We sat behind another couple to watch the movie. The girl in front of me was reclining her seat so far backwards that her seat was pressing against my knees. I expressed to my fiancé quietly 3 times that it was very annoying for me! However our seats were good, central and I could deal with something a little annoying (I have 5 kids for Pete's sake!) I re-adjusted a few times during my movie - as you do - and I guess that because the girls seat was resting on my knees, each time I moved she believed I was kicking her chair. She turned around and told me to stop. I showed her that my knees were back as far as possible and she was resting her chair on them. A few minutes later her and her boyfriend turned around and said stop or I'll tell the manager. I calmly explained again that I am merely sitting in my seat, and I had my knees as tightly to my chair as possible! They told us to move, we refused, and the girl labeled me a "princess" (despite the fact she had her feet on the seat in front and was reclining back as far as possible, I must be the princess!) After some back and forth, and some even more aggressive reclining of her seat, the girls boyfriend decided to get the manager. The manager came directly up to us and said stop kicking her seat or you must leave. I explained I am not kicking her seat, even without my legs moving AT ALL her seat is reclined and resting on my knees! She basically told me she would kick me out if I continued to "argue" aka explain the situation. Apparently because the other couple sat down first, we were in the wrong and must make the change ourselves, rather than asking the girl in front to recline just a little less. Apparently the dramatic type, the couple felt it was more worth it to them to get up and leave their movie and make a complaint, receiving some free tickets no doubt! I could have complained much earlier that she was laying on my knees but as they say, pick your battles! I imagine if I was the one to make a complaint I would have been the person in the right? THIS IS WHAT I LEARNED THAT DAY! 1. Providing you have sat down FIRST you may recline your seat onto the person behind you, and you are in the right based on that simple fact, that you sat down first. 2. Providing you are the first person to complain then you are in the right! 3. The manager provides no ability to create a middle ground during such instances. She automatically assumed that the name calling complaining attendants were in the right, despite my relaxed attitude and lack of desire to pick a fight - as well as the fact the patron in front of me was LAYING on me during my movie! I am appalled at the managers ability to diffuse the situation, as well as insulted for being judged, and threatened to be kicked out! Just remember folks! Sit and complain first, the manager will give you free tickets to come back! Make sure you raise a stink in person, and not in a later review like me, and you'll come out on top! ABSOLUTELY APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND APPALLING MANAGEMENT!

I watched James Bond - No Time To Die in AVX yesterday October 11. The screen was waaaaay too dark. It was as if the entire movie was shot as a shadowy night scene. It didn’t matter if it was an indoor or outdoor scene or if it was daytime or nighttime. I don’t know how movies are projected these days but I’m guessing someone really needs to change a projector bulb. In addition, the image didn’t seem to be all that sharp. I was quite disappointed.

I used to go to the Bayfield Cinemas but I now go here. The D-Box is nice but i would not splurge for the moving seats. I have tried it a couple times now and find the price not worth it. This place is New and clean. The employees are all very nice and professional. I recommend this place if you are looking to see a movie.

My daughter just went there and they didn't honour the advertised standard form of Skyscraper. My friend proceeded to tell the manger that it was false advertising and called head office and nothing was done. Won't be back.

Great experience! We have two kids under 3 so going out to the movies just doesnt happen often. My wife misses going to the cinema terribly. We ordered on uber eats for my wife's extra birthday present. Popcorn treats and movies at home. Best of both worlds right? Nope. The uber eats driver delivered the wrong order. And it wasnt even the uber eats driver listed (wrong gender etc), which shouldn't happen according to uber. Anyway, long story short, got in touch with cineplex and was pretty irate to be honest. Spoke with Graham and he said he'd be in contact with them. He followed through, figured it out with uber, got back in touch with me to confirm they got the replacement order, and even gave us a couple of passes even though it was Uber's fault! Great amazing customer service from Graham and kept a customer who honestly was pretty upset (sorry about that Graham). Thank you again for making it right!

Small New theatre. Went for a 9:40pm show and Box Office closed, had to use automatic machine when I would rather deal with a real person. Concessions seemed to close early as well.

Every single Saturday night I've come here the box office is closed and not all of the computers to buy your tickets are working. I'd just think that on a Saturday night you'd be completely open. Though, there's always tons of staff at the snack bar where the people working there are just chatting with their co workers while they are serving me. Lay out is really nice and new, just not great planning with scheduling.

What a joke ..Tuesday nite ..so called cheap nite..saw 1917 in Dbox? chair "moves to the movie"..by the time all was said and done 2 small popcorn 2 admisions.. one senior.. and an Earl Grey Tea ..well over $50.00..I didn't understand the Dbox concept so I tried it ..can't relate to chairs moving and how that adds anything to the expereince on any level..disappointed ..

I brought my two children to c Bumblebee it was an amazing experience we all had a wonderful time and afterwards my kids love playing the arcade games. I take them twice a month and it is always a great time the staff r very helpful I would definitely recommend it.

Free Guy was a great movie ! Cineplex wasn't overly busy, but very clean. I love the assigned seats. We showed up early to get tickets and pick our seats, then we were able to go for dinner and come back at showtime without worrying about getting bad seats.

Love the seats. Dbox is great. As far as I'm concerned barrie only has one theatre and this is it. Only problem is the selection of movies isn't as great as the south end theatre

Went to watch sponge bob’s new movie. It was so sad to see this place so empty, when usually it is filled with kids having a great time excited to see a new movie. Gave it a four stars because I wish they played Trolls World Tour since it was about to come out when covid hit. We just got TWT discounted merchandise and overpriced popcorn, but still worth it. Did not like the overpriced D-box experience and neither did my 3 yr old. Wish they had loungers option instead.

Very clean theatre but the sound in the Avx theatre is terrible. It is so quiet the last few times i have been there, my husband and I avoid going here. We actually prefer the south barrie location more because the sound is so much better! When I told the manager how disappointed in the sound I was he said there is nothing he can do that that have it set at the maximum sound level. I find it pretty hard to believe when I go to see movies anywhere else it is always way louder than this theatre.

Main atrium is what I imagine a communist movie theatre to would be like; extremely austere compared to every other theatre I've been to. Clean and serves it's purpose as a movie theatre well

This place is a great place to hang out with friends and watch a new movie. It's located near zerh and chattimme so you can speed a few minutes before the movie to go shopping or just have a cold bubble tea. The movie theater is quite small but it's the best place in Barrie, the popcorn is not very good in my opinion, but the ice cream is great. Because this is the only place to watch new movie in Barrie so you might have to wait in a long line during rush hour times. They have cheap ticket on Tuesday only, some if you are free on tuesday just come here and watch a few movie.

Great theater! My only complaint is the staff. Went there yesterday. Our gift card couldn't be used at the machine because the price of the movies cost more than what was loaded on our gift card. There was no staff at the box office. Had to go to the ticket checker (where there were three staff standing (two of which weren't doing anything)) to be sent to line up at the concession stand to purchase our movie tickets. Why?

The seating and viewing experience is excellent. Very clean theatres. The Mgmt. team is very attentive and helpful. The only down fall is the 'grill' area. The service is slow and the hot food is always undercooked.

Quite nice, newer movie theatre. The really good thing about this theatre is that you can select the seat you would like to sit in. So there are no more surprises about where to sit. It also helps with arrival time - no need to arrive way early just to get a seat where you would like. Much nicer than your traditional movie theatre. Would recommend this as the better movie theatre in Barrie.
