REVIEWS OF Norwood Cinemas 3 IN Bancroft

Brian Maher

Lovely place. Cosy, extremely friendly staff 3 large viewing rooms with updated seats and digital equipment, yet still have that 1949 look and feel.

Bryan Johnston

A throwback to a simpler time. 3 screens. Get the kiddie combo at the concession stand, regardless of your age. It's an excellent value.

Pappa Phene

Jane Spencer

Great small town movie theatre style. It gets new releases right away.

Sorry guys its time the town puts up a Cineplex you guys are never open except after 7 or the weekends and when you have kids it just doesn't work.

Emu Tresh

Not always the best movie selection or the comfiest of seats, but they try there best!

This is an old school theater and I love it. You get to feel the old theatrical type watching. The price is cheap for the movie and food. Great way to enjoy with the family. Always drop by Norwood when you are in Bracebridge.

Robo

What a great theatre! Super friendly staff, great popcorn. I loved it.

Kylie Fellows

Rachael Ryann

The theatre itself is good. However what appeared as the management staff tonight a blonde woman with glasses was extremely rude to myself and my husband. I have sever food allergies and had my own popcorn with us. We were purchasing popcorn and drinks for my husband and she informed us “ YOU CANT BRING IN OUTSIDE FOOD”. Now. I haven’t had any problems ever. With large or small theatres once I explain i have allergies. I politely informed her I have allergies and she again said “ I don’t care you can’t bring in outside food “ It was very embarrassing. I asked if they provided gluten free popcorn as I am celiac. She said “ it’s kosher “. Not seeming to understand. It’s just unfortunate to treat a paying customer with such disrespect. Especially as we were purchasing other items for my husband. Just be warned if you go here and you have any food allergies or medical conditions , you won’t be made to feel just like everyone else. You will be isolated and made to feel stupid by this particular woman. The rest of the girls were very kind. Especially the girl wth dirty blonde hair and braces. Lovely.

Chris Hanlon (Arbalister)

This was a really cool little theatre, family owned and operated, but it felt like a night out at the movies from when I was a teenager. Long aisles of sloping seats, upturned closer to the screen. Not the current cineplex style "cram 'em in" multiplex.

Court M

Older theater with a small town feel. No cineplex but charming.

The movie was great and the seats were adequate. The theatre was packed! This thestre is fine if you just want to see the movie but if you want a real "experience" you will not get it here. Better to go to a Galaxy or other such theatre.

This is a great theater that takes away the need to travel to a big ciniplex. It has a great selection of movies at a reasonable price.

I have been going to the Norwood Theater for about thirty five years. Great atmosphere, great people. It is family owned and operated, movies are seen on top of the line digital projectors, and it's a class act. Culturally speaking stories gave birth to the beginnings of civilization and they maintain a central and key element in the evolution of culture. Stories tell us how to assess, what to assume, what not to assume, how to predict, how to grow critical and most importantly how to enjoy the entertainment value of stories that ask us to confront our realities or give us a potentially much needed escape from those realities! Get there early in the summertime, it has a tendency to fill up often, especially with the summer blockbusters which only adds to the community atmosphere of the place. The theater has only the finest selections of movies, and is a staple in our community, People should make it a priority to go out and see films much more often and support our fine Bracebridge businesses! The theater frequently and regularly brings people into the town core and lends appeal and attraction to the downtown business complex of Bracebridge, Ontario. Oh don't forget to try the popcorn and chocolate bars and pop at the concession stand, but once again get there early, because there can tend to be lines and you don't want to miss even the trailers of your movie! It's one hundred percent entertainment!

I love this small cinema, the staff there is very nice and helpful. I love the movie rate too, soo cheap!

Matthew Wyjad

Love this place. Good admission price, lots of movie selection. No its screens are not as HUGE as the Cineplex, but when you start watching a movie you forget that very quickly, abs it's nice not to have to whip your head around to keep track of what's happening on screen.

Being the only game in town has never prevented the Mitchels and their staff from offering great service at very competitive prices. Our little town is very lucky to have such a great little movie theatre.

Scott Skeletor

Small theatre. Cheap prices. Poor lighting though. They need to dim the exit signs so that it doesn't reflect off the screen

i think we as a community should hold a fundraiser to help them bring the place to date

Jim Sled

Great small town feel. Authentic for sure! Locally owned, great friendly service, comfortable and clean theater. I would have liked the screen to be a bit bigger but that's probably because I'm spoiled by the huge ones in Cineplex! Much more affordable than the major theaters, cheaper tickets and reasonable concession prices. Overall a fantastic experience.

Emma Clare McGee

The price is not bad (only $8 - $10) considering it is in cottage country not bad at all. It is cash only but there is an ATM that you can use there and really that adds to the retro feel. Really only thing is that they don’t have that many show times. But that really pushing it for things. Love it here.

Michael Righetti

Brenda Hodgson

A quaint theater with very comfortable seating and a good place to enjoy an afternoon or evening out.

Gareth Seltzer

The Norwood is unique for many reasons. First it shows first run just released films on three screens with Christie Digital technology which means it competes with the big boys on quality. Small communities have centres - places where the community meets itself. In Bracebridge, that centre is The Norwood (there is an alternative argument that it is the Canadian Tire - but I think it is The Norwood!). The concession stand is full of residents and cottagers, seasonal and full time greeting each other or talking about their day waterskiing. It has a charming character to it that suggests that family night or date night from years past is not gone and is not forgotten. It is "us" that has to remember to embrace it. And the best place in town I can think of to enjoy a film and a night out is around The Norwood. Hands Down.

This little theater makes a great addition to the town. I've seen quite a few movies here. This location offers a handful of screens and a small concession stand that offers a large variety of snack and beverages. I never find the theater to be too crowded. Overall the drive out here is well worth it for a fun movie night with the family!

It's clean and the people are friendly. Not fancy, but comfortable. The theatres themselves are narrow and the screens small. The audio is good, although loud sounds seep through the walls from other movies. It's not the ultimate experience, but there are no alternatives in the area so support local independent businesses!

Charming old fashioned style theater with the newest released movies playing.

Staff and owner extremely gracious and friendly. Cozy old time feel to the venue however, the seats, which are critical to an enjoyable evening are somewhat lacking in their comfort. Seat comfort is the only fault but is a serious one, hence the 4 star rating.

Dave Kinlough

It's a fun place to get out of the heat and see a movie. Don't expect a big city experience but the price is reflective. 3 kids and 1 adult for under $40.00. Warning though, it's CASH ONLY so stop by the ATM beforehand.

Christopher Melbourne

I haven't been here in years but I was surprised at how well kept and maintained it has been in that time. Good price as well and the food wasnt as overpriced as it is at the larger cinemas. I think I will choose to go here rather than drive to Orillia to see movies from now on.

$10 tickets, comfy seats and small town cinema awesome all in one spot. Saw "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood" with Tom Hanks and tho I didn't watch Mr. Roger's as a child, I now have a great deal of respect and admiration for who he was!

Carmela Miranda

Andre “Dredre” Parks

Amazing comfortable theatre. The price for admission is excellent. However the snacks are way overpriced. Some kids get 20 dollars as an allowance to go to the movies. They buy a ticket but by the time you buy a pop and popcorn the are lucky if they have enough left over to buy another drink to wash all that popcorn down. If the prices for the snacks were more reasonable then I would give it a full 5 stars. Until then it is what it is!!
