I go to this theatre quite often. Seats are comfortable. Lots of screens so lots of variety in what's playing. Food is good if a bit pricey. Not a problem of this theatre specifically, just all of them are expensive. But I've never been told they aren't making something or don't have any of something left, which is something that's happened at all other local theaters.

They've recently changed the way the lines work and it's the dumbest thing since trump became the US president. I like that this theatre has 18 cinemas and also Imax though. Never long wait for tickets or food really and the theatre is also quite clean. Timeplay is a nice feature. Just fix the lines.

The venue is amazing, I just wished the staff at the pickup counter were actually doing their jobs and not all standing in the supply closet in back gossiping and on their phones! 10 minutes for a cup of tea! Anyhow, the movie was terrific and you can't put down an entire building just for a few staff members

It was pretty messy. We got to our movie 30 minutes early and there was just popcorn and trash everywhere. Also there we're a lot of people being disruptive and distracting during the movie. Line ups to get your concessions were long but moving smoothly, just very crowded and claustrophobic.

I love this threatre, there is just one at the very back that never got updated during renovations and REALLY needs it. All of the chairs are level on the floor with no incline. So it's really hard to see over the chairs in front of you. They also just added an arcade. I was bummed it wasn't the restaurant the other theatres haves. Hope they'll eventually add it! Staff are always great. it's usually very clean

Make sure you go when its $9.00 popcorn night. Oh wait! .... That's every night, and the popcorn isn't even that good. BTW, their "real butter" is very suspect. I think they stopped using actual real butter when Scotia Bank bought the theater. Now we get "butter flavored topping"! See you at the movies!

This theater has available parking and has FRIENDLY staff. These guys treated my girlfriend and I very well on our date to see the pixar movie COCO. Fantastic movie. Had me crying like a baby. My favorite thing about this theater was that it was large enough to accommodate everyone nicely without groups needing to sit too closely together.

Our go-to theatre next to home that covers most the movie-going needs for the Halifax area. Huge theatre, movies tend to stay there a pleasantly long time so you don't need to rush out in the first couple weeks in fear of stuff leaving. I used to come here as a kid and as I still go now am happy to see they keep putting money into updating the place. There's a large amount of theatres, self-serve ticket kiosks, a greatly expanded and updated arcade area, as well as an impressive amount of public washroom availability. This location also occasionally does viewings of Family Favorites as weekend matinees and brings back older movies to replay for cheap. Other random events too at times. Reservations for some of the larger movies can be done online where you can select your own specific seats and not have to stress about showing up crazy early. If you DO show up early though, you can always have fun and play along to the pre-show games on the Timeplay app. Don't forget to go for Tuesday cheap nights! Also half the ticket cost.

Great place to watch latest movies, lots of parking. Most staff is friendly and helpful but the company needs to have more staff working as the place always needs a good cleaning as floors are always covered in trash and food in the hallways and theatres.

I love the kiosk for tickets. We zoomed in 10 mins prior to show time. Got our tickets and we were ready for snacks. It was a ridiculously long wait for snacks. Every line had 3-people/couples ahead of us but they all moved very slowly. Our poor cashier said it was his first day on the job and he appeared overwhelmed and unsure of which buttons to pressed. Unfortunately this held up the line even further. Then we finally placed our order 15 mins later and had to go stand in yet ANOTHER LINE for 10 more minutes to get 2-nachos. Wow. Arrived 10 mins early to see "The Nun" 15 mins late waiting on 2-nachos. It was a disappointing experience to say the least. 3-stars for the nice venue, convenient location, and reclining seats.

There are numerous problems that, as a monopoly, they are not obliged to fix. They're always understaffed. The lines are exceptionally long at concessions, to make it worse, they moved from one line feeding all cash registers, to a dozen individual lines. A single bank-style line is far far more efficient. Popcorn is stale stale stale. I brought back a bag and was given a new one, just as stale. I have never seen the pop-corn machines running. Likely not enough staff to fill bags with fresh popcorn just popped. So make it early and store it. The theatre itself is very messy and not cleaned well. Always sticky floors. This theatre used to be great.

A very nice theatre, very clean and spacious. Comfortable seats with lots of room for cozy viewing, and regularly cleaned washrooms. We've never had a bad bag of popcorn there, and a fun arcade. However, staff do not check in during shows to monitor the audience for talking, texting, and other electronics usage. The experiences we've had at our last four movies have been significantly deminished because of flickering screens. We've noticed no changes in this since we've made multiple complaints to management. So overall, a lovely place to go to a movie. Just expect to be distracted by people who can't go two hours without posting a status update, and people who need to talk about the differences between the book and the movie...during the movie.

Staff never smile..and make you feel welcome. Very poor customer service.. reprehensible! Don't understand why they keep staff who possess zero service skills or anything. Management never deals with these issues unfortunately even when brought to their attention. Jackie is a nasty, obnoxious person for the tickets. Haven't seen her working there in a long time. Thank goodness.

What to say, large movie theatre, with more than 15 regular screens, it also has IMAX and IMAX 3D screens. Too many arcade games, which attracts a plethora of pre-teen children who are unruly, rude, disrespectful in actions and are so fowl mouthed it's crude and disgusting. Employees don't care and won't do anything because those children are spending money at THEIR establishment. And just as any movie theatre anywhere; tickets are too expensive, (over 36.00 for 2 adults is excessive, JUST for movie tickets, it included no concessions) and concessions are overpriced. All to be expected at just about every movie theatre. It seems like since Scotia Bank bought it, customer experience, comfort, and even kindness towards a paying customer have become extinct in favour of bringing in as much money as possible. The "almighty dollar" wins again, at a movie theatre of all places. Don't come here to "escape reality, enjoy a movie, and indulge in some snacks" it'll put a dent in your wallet deeper than you thought. It's cheaper to pay for 4 people to have dinner at Boston Pizza, East Side Mario's or The Keg, than for two people to go to see a movie at Scotiabank Theatre and buy food/movie snacks. I'll wait and watch it at home with as many people as I want for under $8.00

I don't see a lot of movies because I hate being trapped in a room with strangers who can't put their phones away for two hours. The trick is seeing a movie towards the end of its run and an unpopular time. Movies were more fun at the Oxford.

I've been coming here my whole life. Only 2x has there been an issue where the movie had to be canceled, but that's like 2 in 500. The seating is comfortable, the food is good but expensive (as are all theatres), and the visual/audio is really good. Movie outings are expensive for my family but we always enjoy ourselves.

Great theatre. The only negative is that the bathroom is OUTSIDE of where you need to show your ticket, so doing a quick run isn't always as fast as you'd like because you need to show your ticket again.

The past three times I've been here I've been quite disappointed. The theatres are always filthy even though they make you wait for "cleaning". Long lines at concession due to there only being 2-3 cashiers open. The popcorn is never fresh and like others who have reviewed, the staff are not friendly. Empire ran the theatre way better than Cineplex. Hire some more staff and clean the place properly.

This was my first time to the theatre in 20 months. I was anxious about it but we went for an advance screening and the excitement out weighed the anxiety. We were waiting for the movie to start and we were told that there was a short delay due to a technical difficulty. Minutes later we were told that there was a server issue and the movie didn't transfer over. We were provided with a voucher but that doesn't quite make up for the time lost and the opportunity blown. I will rewrite my review if we decide to go back.

I love watching movies but this theater has some things they need to work on. The washrooms are always really gross. The screens in some of the theaters need to be replaced. The food is hellishly overpriced. My experience at home with my projector is way more favorable now than going to the theater.

Dune was awesome but the screen of the Imax theatre looked like a drink had been thrown at it and when there was a bright scene in the movie (which is most of Dune) , you could see the faded stain. Honestly, if you want me and my family back, please tell me this is fixed properly. I don't want to see this stain for upcoming Spiderman, Matrix, The Batman etc...also, if it's not a full theatre, you should really close off more seats so that we're not all sitting together.

Pros : Lots of great movie options. Nice theater food. Comfortable seating. Cons: when I went the other night the bathroom was atrocious. It was after one of the last shows for the evening, so I am not sure if someone hadn't checked them yet but, just gross. Stuff floating in toilets. Water all over the floor. A broken toilet seat. I went through 5-6 stalls before I found one I could use.

the seating is comfy and the staff are clean cut and to the point, like no small talk, I just want to go and see a movie with popcorn. however, I've found that the popcorn has been burned, and sometimes even stale. the drinks are more I've then pop but it's what I expect with any restaurant style concession. the amount of ads before shows though tend to take it 20 or 30 minutes past the online start time and the entrance feels congested with all the gimmicks. all in all it was way better before cineplex bought it but some things have also improved.

Great theater without any flashy highlights. Best IMAX in the province and possibly East of Montreal. New construction, so everything is clean, spacious and modern. Tons of movies playing, sometimes including Bollywood movies if you're lucky. Big concessions bar with pizza, hot dogs, nachos, etc, as well as Starbucks tea and coffee if you ask nice :)

Although I love this place, and it has been my favourite theatre in Halifax, one of my top reasons for coming here has been drastically damaged. I would have said that one of the main benefits of choosing this theatre over the others in Halifax is that they run the Time Play games before the movie, where you can answer a series of trivia questions, and win points toward future movie purchases. They used to give a top prize of 100 points to the winner, and 50 points to the top five or ten people. Now they have changed it so the top winner only get 25 points and the next two people only get 5 points. It's not even worth playing, and I won't be wasting my time. Plus, I don't want to sit through watching the game for no reason, so I won't be showing up as early for my movies and wasting all that time. And I will probably more often go to the other cinemas in town because their showing times are much better for regular working people. Lately I've been noticing that this location offers movies at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, while other cinemas still offer 6:15-7:00 shows. It's way too late for me to go to an 8:00 pm movie, and 5:00 pm is too early to get any friends to come with you, so Bayers Lake is getting less appealing.

We always enjoy going to the movies but after the cost of tickets taking a family to the movies becomes incredibly more expensive than it should be if you want to include drinks,popcorn,treats ect... Happy with the food selection, it's just too expensive. The theatre itself was comfortable and clean.

Good multi theatre with ample parking and easy access to the road. There are many big box stores and restaurants nearby, so lots to do before and after the show, and its much easier to get in and out with the Washmill Lake road now open.

Great place, renovated lobby with more arcade. The BIG problem I have with this theatre is the strong smell of urine in different places. Specially not good near the food area. I've visited in different occasions and the smell has not change.

Theater wasn't clean it stunk of mold in theater 2. We saw deadpool 2 at 10:30pm. There was garbage that littered the floor and someone's left behind snotty tissues jammed in the drink holder. Kind of gross but left a lasting impression. I would also like to point out this ticket based game area that sucks children in for cheap dollar store toys is appalling. Congratulations on making kids gambling addicts. So much for fun video games at an affordable price. Whoever decided hooking kids on games for tickets on a dollar store 5 cent toy that they need to spend $20 bucks to obtain is soulless and is the problem in this new world. Not to mention $20 bucks for a child is gone in 15 minutes at each game costing $2.00 to play. Go figure theaters are owned by banks now. Don't let your kids become victims of this money stealing system.

Not a bad place after all. Even after reading lots of thumbing down reviews . I guess it has to do with the time and date to watch the movie. Non holiday week days were the best time to go. Only if you don't hate to miss the large crowd. At noon time the theater was clean and the line was short. Very good surround sound, comfortable seats, friendly service and lots of parking spaces.

Empire 18 is a great place to watch movies. Free parking, which somewhat offsets the 60 dollars you're going to pay to see a film with a date. Oh! One thing I like is the new Cineplex points, because it gives you free movies every two years or so.

I have visited there today, it was a great place to have fun and watch movies. There are many games for kids at the hallway, although their prices are kinda high, but still reasonable because as far as I know they are the only movie theater in Halifax. Employees who work there are friendly and helpfu they provided good customer services. The only thing who made rate just four stars instead of five is washrooms there, washrooms are very small, uncomfortable and not clean. Washroom door lock not working properly, I wish they will fix that and consider my feedback. Thank you,

Only place to watch movies...so. I hate when they scoop popcorn and then half way through my bag...1/2 kernals and broken the rest of popcorn gross. Cant stand feet on back of my chair because chairs rock so every move they make moves my chair. People getting up going to bathroom bump seats and it rocks you hard in your seat ...why do they need to rock? Stupid and annoying. Not to interested in going much more because I'm tired of turning to tell people to keep your feet off the back!! I will stream it . stay home.

Theatre is okay. Older style seating here; no motorized recliners, no service at your seat, no beer or spirits, but a nice, clean theatre. The older style seats were comfortable enough. There is plenty of parking, a good sized games room out front and decent choice of concessions. I have been spoiled by the newer, upgraded theatres, so I can only give this one 3 stars.

A problem is the scents people allowed to wear. Most public places ate scent free so when a person arrives and sits beside you dosed in perfumes it makes the movie impossible to enjoy. I fill up and can hardly breath.

The theatre is fine in general but who designed the IMAX theatre? Rows of like fifty seats that go all the way across with no middle entrance. There were people climbing over us all the way up until the start of the movie. The IMAX theatre has reserved seating but the other theatres need it too.

Bathrooms seem to be never cleaned. Trash cans are almost always full. They never do anything about the smokers at their front doors. Their line ups are bad, should be one line up not a dozen. Concession stand costs way to much but they have the best screens and sound system locally.

The movie selection here is wonderful, and big movies stay awhile so you can watch your favourites again. The new arcade is mesmerizing. The staff are really nice, although some are very quiet for the noise level of the place which can sometimes make it hard to understand them. The concessions options are vast which is good if you only feel like sweets or only feel like salt. I often purchase soft pretzels, which aren't always fresh, but can be replaced if you just ask. We go to this theater frequently because it's convenient, and we've never had a bad experience.

We have been going to this theatre regularly for 10 years now and sadly the last 2 or 3 years it has really gone downhill. The lobby is now filled with arcade games. The garbages are always over flowing, the hallways are covered in ground up popcorn and the womens’ bathroom is disgusting. Last night many of the taps were not working and there was soap all over the walls. When Empire operated this theatre it was always pristine. If this is supposed to be the jewel in the crown ofCineplex’s Halifax theatres, it is not living up to it. It is a pretty scummy theatre.

First movie out since the pandemic began, generally wasn't impressive. Bathrooms were absolutely nasty, lineup for concessions was WILDY slow, popcorn tasted like it was made hours ago and place in general just looked kind of run down. I know rona has been tough on the industry, but I was expecting a best foot forward kind of effort. I will say staff were lovely, especial kudos extended to a stellar member in a wheelchair who chatted with me about the movie I was planning to see and made an effort to say goodbye and thank you personally.

Pizza here is rock solid. It takes a man to eat their Pizzas!! Bravo! Except for popcorn rest of the food here is just stale and waste. Looks like they buy from outside and keep in fridge and heat it when someone by mistake asks for them.

Decided to see a movie in the rarly afternoon and live near Scotiabank Theatre, Bayers Lake. It has been a while since I went to a movie theatre. There were no humans to purchase tickets from, just machines. It was very easy buying the ticket I wanted. I did not purchase and concession food, as I had just eaten. I was amazed at all the "carnival" like games in the lobby. I did not check the prices for any of these games, but am pretty sure they aren't cheap. I love the variety of the size of theatres. New movies, large theatre to older movies in smaller theatres, as well as IMAX and 3D. Very clean theatre with large, mini rocker seating.

Very good experience. They have pre-allocated seats for each auditorium. There were only 31 seats available in the auditorium we were in. So plenty of space for social distancing. The movie was amazing as well. Maudie from 2016, but so good to see.

First movie since Feb 2020. Not busy at all. Social distancing and masks are required until you are in your seats, then the masks come off. Nobody is sitting anywhere near you. My wife and I felt very safe.

One of my worst experiences at this theatre in a long time when I went to see Bad Moms Christmas last Tuesday night! We could clearly hear the loud crashes & bangs from the movie next door through the wall the whole time. Plus a girl in my row was on her cell taking pics (with the flash) and sending Snapchats all through the movie!! SUCKED!!

Normally when I pre-purchase a ticket, the booth at the theatre will be broken and I'll spend extra time at customer service getting it sorted. This was not the case with this Cineplex. Quick, good service. Reasonably clean, could use a bit more TLC though.

Been to movie theatre all my life and this is the worst seating theatre of them all. We were out of town and came to see Ant man, were seated in a flat floor seatings. Had to look up the entire time wherever we sat.

Went to see Dune. I think there were 6 ofv us in the theatre. We were cold for the 3 hours we were in the theatre. The floor was sticky like walking on fly paper. The movie was good but I can't see going back any time soon.

Always a good time. Arrive atleast 15 mins early to play the preshow time play to win scene points. If you're ordering food, you will want to arrive even earlier as there most often are lineups. Place is always pretty clean.

Rented one of the theaters for a private event. It was Awesome! Price was amazing and the service was fantastic. We had a kids birthday party and they even let us start the movie a few minutes later that scheduled to accomodate one of our guests! Highly recommended!

I enjoy it here. A few things could probably be better, though. This theatre is super busy, it should have more lanes available to buy your tickets, popcorn and other snacks. Definitely give yourself more than enough time to buy whatever you're getting so you don't miss any parts of the movie! The arcade has a good selection of games in my opinion, however there isn't much room to navigate through people when it's busy, and a handful of games are usually out of order. The butter machines for the popcorn seem to be out of order quite frequently. A staff member who works at the arcade points stand (I don't know how else to word it lol), is completely oblivious to what people are saying. He has a hard time understanding anything and it causes long waits and frustrated people. However.. Even when its swamped with people, the workers always seem quite friendly! The bathrooms seem pretty clean for how many there are and how much they're used. With how many people are getting popcorn and eating it in the hallway on the way to the auditoriums, popcorn falls on the floor of course. However, their has been somebody there sweeping it up every time I've been there so far!

I had a good experience with sound and especially the IMAX screen. The one thing that I hate most about cineplex here in NovaScotia is Seating. Seats are not comfortable so how you guys can expect public to watch movie? Which requires nearly 3 hours of seating? Just an honest opinion - change it or upgrade it. Thanks

I am an arcade fan and I like movies, but I would definitely stay away from the arcade because most of the games are 2$ or more and you spend your money so quickly! I miss the old set up :( . But I have no problems with the movies what so ever.

Not a good theatre any more! Time Play doesn't work, and ice cream machine is usually broken. I went there three times after reopening after COVID-19, and my experience was the same in the three times. Movie was schedule to start at 7:30, and the screen turned on at 7:31. We absolutely love going to this theatre.Its our top choice. Staff are usually great and very helpful and its fun to hit the arcade previous to going in and seeing the actual movie. Definitely recommend the fanta slushie to anyone with a sweet tooth.

Attended this Bayers Lake site of this Theatre from 230-530 today. What I witnessed was far from satisfactory and a disgrace for all patrons to have to deal with. The theatre was filthy from the carpets to seats. The facility smelled of "wet dogs". The washrooms all but maybe 2-3 of the 20 stalls were plugged and filthy. The young lady sweeping the floor agreed it was a disgrace and kept her head lowered as she stood by the garbage. The ticket takers were seen visibly making fun of a patron who had just passed through.... I wonder what we couldn't see? Has the Dept of Agriculture been by lately to inspect the food prep area? A place to avoid and an apology needs to be made to all patrons who paid good money to attend this venue. Not a Halifax standard for sure.

Great Cineplex, especially for those with cars. If you live in Central Halifax, Park Lane is a better bet. They have a gigantic reception area for ticketing and concessions. Ticketing is all electronic and works really smoothly. The actual theaters are comfortable and up to date.

Everything was easy to find. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's been a long time since I've seen an IMAX movie and I thought the screen was bigger, but it was great seeing the Last Jedi in IMAX. Highly recommend this theater.

We came early to play games at the theater before our show. We always play the games it’s honestly one of our favourite parts of coming here. But when we got here at 3 pm in the afternoon on a FRIDAY, all the machines were off. Now I have two kids balls too the wall bouncing around and no games for them to play on... thanks cineplex! Good bus service. Full IMAX including 3D. Excellent for the new blockbusters, but will have special showings and some indie movies like Maudie or some art-house/festival favorite. Good for Indian/Chinese/foreign showings. Can be a little dirty later in the day, but usually clean in the seats. Good location for shopping before or after.

It's a good place for movies and the arcade however, the theatres and space can be filthy with wrappers, spilt pop and popcorn all over. Like most theatres the food is way overpriced. In general it's not bad and a great place to hang out with friends and family.

This theatre has gone downhill since the takeover. The lineups are cut throat and very tense bc there's no clear line setup - wherever you stand, you might end up at one of three cashiers. It's always dirty and even the experience in the theater has been bad. We had a movie start and the lights were full on (my boyfriend has to go ask them to turn off the lights), and another time the theatre was freezing cold. I know they're cutting labour bc sales are slow, but this isn't the way to get people to come back to the theatre, in my opinion.

Snuck into the popcorn popper at the large counter, I was going to use it as a way to sneak into a movie, but there was constantly someone working, so I couldn't get in unfortunately. Pretty busy, IMAX is awesome. They just added a lot to their arcade. *Edit* Changed to 1 star from 4. They now REQUIRE both proof of vac + photo ID. While this isn't a problem, what is, is that while purchasing through the mobile app it tells you none of this. My partner didn't bring her ID because why would she, it's a movie theater, not a bar. After all of that, they have the nerve to play the Cineplex vaccine propaganda, while waiting in the theater full of people who should already be double vaxxed. On the subject of ads, why are there so many of them with a fully white background in the dark theater? And frankly, they should really turn the volume down. I'm not trying to worsen my hearing just to learn about the kids Cineplex Halloween show (twice). That goes for the movie itself too. Remember, more loud ≠ better sound quality like Cineplex would like you to believe. A few complaints after the movie: - sticky floors - people on cell phones - bumping seats - giant stain/scuff/imperfection on the IMAX "screen". All of those adequate to a very distracted moving experience that shouldn't cost $20 a person. While trying not to be the most dramatic, I would have preferred purchasing the 4k blueray and watching at home instead. IMAX just is not worth it anymore.

The Manager was very helpful when I lost my phone at a movie. About 8 minutes after leaving from seeing Bohemian Rhapsody (fab movie!) I discovered my "set to silent" phone was missing. So we went back and at first a young assistant was less helpful, even though we knew almost exactly where we'd been sitting, she went in with us (lights were still on and a pre-show was on the screen and ironically no one was watching it but playing on their phones...) would not allow us to ask patrons to quickly check under their seats... which seemed kind of silly to me. So long story short when I was getting a bit panicky about waiting two hours to even ask again about the phone she went and got the Manager Jeff. He saved the day. Thank you Jeff for taking us back in where the lights were STILL ON and we asked the folks and someone found my phone almost instantly. Common sense prevailed. I really didn't want to hear again from the assistant about how terribly intrusive it would be and how those people had waited for an hour to see the movie. It wasn't on yet! Jeff rocks!

Saw Captain Marvel today in the IMAX theater. It was a great movie and of course the IMAX experience makes any movie better. The quality of the picture and sound really add to the movie. I went just last week to see a movie with my children, the cashier was rude and seemed like she wanted to get rid of us ASAP, then before we go in we use the bathroom...piss...EVERYWHERE....movie was good but I went over back to the counter to notify a employee about the bathroom, and the kid just laughed... will never return, I am defeated and will soon parish....

It seems everything is sticky in the theatres themselves. The bathrooms, however, are clean and well-stocked, as well as being huge so if a bunch of films get out at once (or you're just shy) there's plenty of space. The staff is amazing 90% of the time, but they're never terrible. The popcorn is great because it's always cycling, but if you want other foods (like the pretzels) then usually they get stale before you get them. Churros are amazing, they just take a few minutes. The Scene program is a nice bonus, but they need to stop showing exclusively 3D movies. I don't want to pay a $3 premium for a migraine. I have missed several movies for this reason. Pretty expensive, expect a two person movie date with snacks to be around $50, but it's not a bad time.

It's a multiplex. You've been to one. Pretty clean and generally not too busy. It would be nice to have more assigned seating and one of those fancy screens where you get seat service and it's licenced. The theater is also a pokestop so it's nice to pick up some items or drop a lure while you wait in the lobby.

The theatre itself is fine. Weirdly huge, competent and courteous staff, and a reliably pleasant experience once you get in the doors. But the building is stuck in the Bayers Lake Business Park, which is antithetical to human life. The journey to and fro is irritating for those who drive cars, and miserable for folks who rely on transit. Nothing above three stars is possible in this wasteland of asphalt and concrete.

Unclean and lots of areas where it's congested with poor traffic flow. All the worst parts of a theme park without the rides. I brought my 2.5yo to see a movie and there were glitches with the sound and starting of the DVD and the run time was misleading. This theater often plays sound at a level known to damage hearing in children though today was better. My son couldn't sit in the chair with or without the booster without me holding the chair open the whole time because he's too light for them to work properly without him falling through the back or them closing on him. To exit we had to walk through the arcade which was completely inappropriate for him. In order to leave, you're funneled right by a walking dead game. There were many moms and dads with toddlers and infants in strollers since this was a movie marketed for toddlers and there was no where for strollers. People were seated in rows designated for wheelchairs and did not move when there was a child in a wheelchair. It was nice that there was a movie appropriate to my son's age group, that there was no prefilm marketing for this age and that we could buy paperless tickets online to avoid line ups and disappointment on arrival but that was the extent of the positives. Today we attended for a march break $3 special but otherwise the prices are unaffordable for our family and the concessions are extremely overpriced and there are no nutritious options or reasonable portions for young children. My family would love to see the new how to train your dragon movie in theatres but between the prices, uncomfortable chairs, filthy floors, volume and atmosphere it won't be here.

Went to see the NuN,please don't waste your time or money!!! 15 people got up and left. It was long boring and absolutely no story...The theater was super loud for the handful of people that were there.Needless to say the long wait for bad popcorn and awful pretzels, so overpriced are why the average person would much rather cuddle up at home..I miss the days of the really good theaters when they cared about the movie goers experience. ????So sorry for all movie lovers.!!!

Great theatre. A little out of the way but that's more based on where you currently live. Very clean and quick service. My only complaint was with an employee that dropped my order over the cash register onto the counter, didn't tell me when to pay then said there were people waiting behind me. Everyone has bad days so I'm definitely not holding back a star because of it.

Theater seating and viewing are very nice but the concession and prices are out of this world. Empire theaters was a dream compared to this company and they know it. I've heard how they treat their employees, no longer providing free movies or discounted concessions as empire did. However the experience is still good and the integration with the scene app game before movies can be slightly entertaining.

My go to theatre, clean, efficient, friendly and the seating is great. However I have found that recently the volumes have been excessivly loud. My boyfriend has (mild) tinnitus which has been irritated by the volumes. Even I have experienced ringing of the ears. Edit: they changed the arcade... It is every child dream. The amazing arcade takes up most of the lobby now. However I was extremely disappointed about how expensive the games were. Typically going to the theatre I'm more than happy to drop 5 or 10 bucks on tokens for a half hour of fun and air hockey, but now the games cost between 2 and 5 dollars EACH. Not worth it, total rip off. This signifies the death of the arcade.

I go here all the time to see movies. There are a lot of theatres around but this is hands down the one that will provide the best experience. For example, when I went to see It for the first time there, a red balloon was left outside the exit of the theatre for when we left. It was a subtle but really nice touch. Similar to that, after seeing Justice League, free posters were being handed out as we walked into the movie. Other than this, the theatre is just like any other Cineplex. The difference is that it's bigger than others. It has two places to buy your popcorn (albeit one is usually closed), a big arcade at the entrance, and over a dozen theatres. Imax is available to people who want it, and there's a party room if your kid wants a movie birthday party. They host lots of events. Like when 50 Shades of Grey came out, there was a viewing with "sexy firemen". This place gets 5/5 stars because it's the best choice around to see a movie. It has all the things you don't like about theatres ($8 for a large popcorn, etc). But it does sell the best experience. I love it there!

My local theater is a small, the games they have are very old & 90% of the time are broken. Compared to this, Scotiabank is amazing. Are there wait lines, yes. My little home theater has these too. When we start to complain, we need to take a step back. As an adult, I bring my children to theater as a special treat. There eyes go wide, the games, the movie chooses, the food chooses. It's not a movie, it's an afternoon adventure, through the eyes of a child. Sure you can make it mundane, or you can indulge and take part. A trip to the park, doesn't have to be just a trip to the park, just ask Mary Poppins. So while going to our local theater is smaller adventure, Scotiabank is a giant adventure, one that can both my autistic child, and I (who suffer from daily severe migraines) can enjoy when they do their special movie viewing with sensory adapted lights and sound.

Great newer theater! They have games available in the lobby before your movie which are a nice distraction from the wait. Also make sure you check around the corner where a few more are hiding from the crowds- there are some classics! The lobby is large enough for a lot of moviegoers to be waiting but it is never all that full. Tables and chairs are a nice addition to relax at before you go in. There is a great menu available of 'real food' along with yogurt and fancy popcorn. I did not try the food yet but it sure smelled and looked good. They also have your standard candy/popcorn/soda at the standard theater prices. Never had any issues with the popcorn or pop or candy (I will usually get a combo of some sort) The theaters are clean and newer, making them very enjoyable. They also have an IMAX screen with selectable seats and this is definitely something to experience! 3D films are also available with complimentary glasses. Parking is super easy here as there is a massive parking lot just in front of the doors. Also there are lots of restaurants around if you want to do a dinner and movie date night. If you have Scene cards then you can even use them at some nearby restaurants as well as the movie. Overall a very good theater that is clean and modern.

Seeing a movie after the new COVID policies were in place was great! I felt totally safe. Staff did a great job dealing with a group of 7 customers who all sat together because they felt they didn't need to abide by the physical distancing / assigned seats policy in place. All staff members were friendly and cheerful. It was a pleasure to be back to the movies!!

Lobby is big and bright and has a lot of ticket kiosks. There are also a bunch of games. Concession lines can often be long and aren't well organized. Lots of theatres including an IMAX. But the seats in the theaters are getting pretty old and musty. They are pretty good at cleaning up between shows.

They have a really cool collection of movies you can't see anywhere else! It's always at least half empty so you pretty much get your pick of the seats as long as it's not a big release and the seats never smell like feet! How do they do it? Idk but it's by far my favorite movie theater in Halifax

My daughter has a cerebral palsy and was invited to a birthday party, however, all of their party rooms are on the second floor up about 15 - 20 stairs with no elevator. They did have a chair lift, which is helpful if you are in a wheelchair, but not for walkers or canes like my daughter uses. It didn't really matter though, as the staff didn't know how to use the lift and then discovered it was broken anyway. We had to carry her up and down the stairs, which was very unsafe. I called several times to see if they could add one party room to the main floor like every other theater I've ever been to, and nothing was ever done - never got a follow up call, and when I called back they said my call wasn't even passed on the first time. They said they would send free passes because it wasn't followed up on, but they never sent them and I never heard from them again. As they are the largest theater in Halifax, and NS has the highest disability rate in Canada, I was very very disappointed with them.

Clean and variety choices of arcades to kill time. Screen is big enough for movies with excellent sound quality. Chairs were comfortable but I wish there was more leg room or provide premium seats. I would pay up to double for more leg space, head rest and more efficient reclining chair.

Its as good a theatre as you will find with 18 shows to choose from. They are all getting a little pricey so get the ticket at Costco or go on Tuesdays (cheap night). The online ticket or in store experiance couldn't get simplier.

Went to an afternoon show but was disappointed to discover the coffee concession was gone!

Fairly standard cineplex here with the added luxury of IMAX. Staff is generally friendly and I've not had any bad experiences here. Seating is comfortable with as much leg room as you would typically expect at a theatre.

I always go to this theatre when new/big movies come out. The theatres are a bit dirty as expected but otherwise it has a nice layout and there are always staff around to assist and wait on you if need be. They also have washrooms all around so no matter where you are you have quick access and don't have to miss much movie by searching for one.

Good selection of movies and food. Concessions are expensive but that's expected. Loads of parking and the staff are usually polite. My only issue is the lack of staff that come in the theatre during the film. A lot of loud talkers and bright cell phones can really ruin the ambiance.

Probably the only venue which can host a ice hockey match and also a concert. Can accommodate a good number of people. They also have few food stalls which includes popcorn, beer and hotdogs.

Covid protocol in place with someone at the doors checking your ID and vaccination status. Once in, you can buy your popcorn and snacks and then another check of the tickets before the individual theatre doors. Best to come early before the movie as it can get busy right at the door at times due to all the protocols that have to be initiated. Plenty of stalls for the washrooms so there is never a wait, especially for the ladies. There is also an arcade area with several games stations. Overall a good experience. The only downside is that the trash can be overflowing after a particularly busy movie screening time in the evenings.

The theatre that they put us in, for a new popular movie was small and had barely an incline. I'm lucky no one sat in front of me or I wouldn't have been able to see the movie at all. The arcade didn't dispense the right amount amount of tickets which for a young kid would be a major let down.

I went on a Tuesday, which is the cheap day, and there was only me and 3 at the movie I went to see. I bought my ticket online which was so easy. Going in you show your vaccine record and a piece of government ID and you're all set. The seats are comfy, the place is clean and someone came and sanitized all the railings before the movie started. Definitely a 5 star experience.

I went their for movies after 30 minutes from given time they said we are not able to play this movie. They return the tickets i went again for another movie with same ticket. They want me to stand again in long line . Every time i wasted my time here . Annoying

Arrived a 20 min early, 6:40, because I knew it would be crowded. Advertised as starting at 7. Advertising, games and previews went on till 7:30. At one point I went out to ask why I paid to watch advertising when clearly my ticket stub stated 7 as the start time. The staff person said that is what they sent from the head office and could not change it. So my suggestion would be to ask what time the advertising will be over so you can watch the movie you paid to see. Will not be going back for a long time if at all. NETFLIX and HBO from now on.

My go-to for movies these days, with their number of theatres and Imax. They have enough rooms that the big releases can take up 3 of them and still not drastically reduce your options, like will sometimes happen at smaller theatres.

Hardly any parking, but wasn't too crowded inside .. had a great time seeing Pitch Perfect 3! This theatre is always consistent with medium cleanliness, medium sized lineups, and ok ticket but astronomical treat prices.

Pretty typical Cineplex. Place seems well run enough. Main problem isn't with this location but the entire chain. They have a monopoly and insist on overscheduling 3D with non 3D at really inconvenient times. Which means for someone like myself who hates 3D and gets headaches is forced to pay more for a lesser experience. They also mucked around with their scene points plan which makes it less adventageous. The scene card was the only way I could justify the expensive 3D movies I was being forced to see due to screen times. So yeah, location is ok. Company is definitely not.

Sunday was my second time going to the IMAX theatre since moving here during the pandemic. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The theater and washrooms were both clean and well maintained. Couldn't ask for more for our movie experience.

My preferred theatre. It is large with a ton of different showings. It seems to always have the movie I want to see playing at reasonable times. If you get there early the arcade has lots of fun games to play on until your movie starts. The food is typical movie food, though it's expensive, it's never badly made. The only annoyance is sometimes they don't have certain foods avaliable like pizzas, otherwise great.

Overpriced, underdelivered, and generally bad movie experience. Movies often out of focus, dark, or both. Staff won't quiet talkers. Concession layout designed to be awkward and crowded for users

I never thought you could get lost in a theater before IMAX. This place is huge. Other then that this location also has the seats that movie with the movie. If you haven't tried them yet it's a perfect opportunity to spend some points. The food options are also crazy here, so many options. So other then all those pros, it's pretty much like a standard Cineplex location.

Movie, popcorn and pop way to expensive for and afternoon out. And I can't imagine families going very expensive!!! Plus it was kind of loud. Will consider buying costco card for 2 before hand better deal with popcorn and drink. Or just wait for cheap night or until the movie comes out.
