You must have seen that it has an average rating is really good, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the rating is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to place feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Mortuary belongs to the category of Funeral home.
Very helpful in the time of need.
My grandmother's service was held here. The staff was very helpful.
At the beginning of the arrangements they are extremely prompt and professional. However after your money is given and it's time to provide the death certificate and remains. They will give you the run around and extremely nice but unprofessional.
Our loved one was cared for with dignity and respect. Our family's wishes were carried through in a very professional and friendly manner. Thank you!
Service was great, but my only complaint is my Mother passed in Feb and here it is April and still no Death Certificate
They cared for two of my loved one within two weeks of each other. They were very caring and respectful of our feelings.
Every detail covered. Caring care given to wishes of the family. Worry free arrangements.
I truly appreciate an believe that the Cole family will give you there best, and only the best service for you and your family I know.
Antonio assisted my family for my mother's service and he went over and beyond to make sure we were pleased.
The Staff was so professional, understanding and courteous to every visitor. They graciously answered questions and helped every person that came by the reception desk.
Very respectful and professional. Our initial visit was handled by Mr Antonio Cole Green. The lady who was our assigned counselor was compassionate and helpful. She walked my sister and I through it every step of the way. Our dad always handled these arrangements for family in past and now we had to do it ... not only for the first time .. but for our beloved dad .. exactly 2 weeks after his 90th birthday The military ceremony was expertly arranged Desiree we had difficulty finding (we eventually did) our dad’s discharge papers. The double room arranged for dads viewing at last minute was perfect. We realized morning after night before public pre-view .. that smaller room wouldn’t work and despite being full, our counselor (this lady was beyond excellent) was flexible to somehow work it out. They also allowed us to set up a small memorial table with our dad’s pix (and mom who predeceased him), non-flame candles, packaged cracker sandwiches + candy, and small bottled water (we were there 8 hrs)... and to softly play dad’s favorite piano jazz using our cellphone connected to tiny computer speakers. We highly recommend the west side location on Schaefer. It’s clean, well kept, with comfortable, attractive furniture The staff is top notch, has very appropriate demeanor for the circumstances and was incredibly helpful over the phone and face to face.
Grandmother, and grandfather, funeral done by this family...very well put together, very professional..
James H Cole did a fantastic job with our mom's arrangements. They were very friendly, accommodating and considerate. They did a very good job of making our mom look very peaceful. I highly recommend using them for funerals of loved ones.
They did a good job with my husband but the driver was late picking me up and had us late for the funeral
They offers services for families love ones who have passed on with respect an dignity .
Absolutely the best service, professional and compassion shown to our family. We've used them several times for our love one.
I would like to say that the funeral home selected for my grandmother was a good selection. The professionalism from Mr Green assisting with making arrangements , to Mr Jackson making adjustments to my grandma , the driver ,Pastor Jones and the Director named India , allowed me to see that this was a good choice. I just want to say thank you again for the services rendered to my family. Flying in from Va to Michigan to do all of this and not knowing what to expect took some stress off of me after dealing with such great people . Again thank you thank you thank you.
THE OWNER MRS COLE WAS VERY LOVING AND CARING SHE TREATED ME LIKE I WAS FAMILY AND WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ACCOMMODATE MY FAMILY AND I. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED FUNERAL HOME TO ANYONE WHO WANTS FAST PROMPT SERVICE ALONG WITH THE TENDER LOVIN CARE OF A BUSINESS WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS ????????????????????!!!
They take special care of your loved ones.
On the day of our loved ones funeral. A short black male employee harassed us about putting a mask on a 2 year old. He insisted that ALL people having to wear a mask. He would’ve even forced a new born to wear one. There is no ordinance that small children have to wear a mask in fact it interrupts their breathing and brings them harm. He insisted all while having his mask hanging from his face with his mouth and nose exposed. The funeral home also did not observe social distancing guidelines and cramped everyone in just a few rows of seats. Leaving many rows empty that could have been used to allow folks to social distance themselves.
Cole Funeral Home does not honor Veterans. We asked that our family member have an Honor Guard. We were told that only active soldiers killed in duty were allowed that benefit. All vets as long as they are honorably discharged are entitled to an Honor Guard. The family has to request it and the funeral home makes the arrangements. They said our loved one would have a 3 gun volley salute at the cemetery, well that didn't happen. Very sad, this man was a Korean War Vet and deserved to be honored by the country he served. Shame on you Cole Funeral home????! You deserve 0 stars!!
My mom passed on August 11, 2019. She requested to go to Cole once she made her transition. My dad was at the Boulevard location when he passed. Everyone was very professional and understanding. My mom’s dress was lace. The funeral director explained that we needed to get a long sleeve top to go under the dress. I bought two. They returned the one they didn’t use. I had pierced earrings for my mom. Ms Washington came and Ms Davis to help with her hair and earrings. I brought in makeup for my mom and nail polish. They used both of them. Everyone LOVED how our mom looked. She would have been satisfied also. The casket was absolutely beautiful. The throw we received of my mom is also absolutely beautiful. All of my siblings love it. I believe all of my family prefers James H. Cole. I think their staff make people look more like themselves at the end than any other funeral home staff. I definitely plan to entrust my final arrangements to James H. Cole.
India @Cole funeral home took really great care of our family and loved one. Love her!
So professional!
A big time funeral. Biker funeral, never been to one before. My Pops is a biker. I might be 1. RIH, RIP JYD!!!¡©.
SHERRYE JENKINS LOVED THE WAY THEY DID MY HUSBAND VERY BEAUTIFUL SERVICE.BUT STILL NO DEATH CERTIFICATE ..... SERVICE WAS MARCH 10,2019. IT IS MAY.????
Stop- Do not use this facility! They took our families money and didnt provide the services they were paid to handle. Karla Cole and Antonio Green are professional thieves. They prey on grieving families.
My family has always dealt with the Coles. Very beautiful and loving family.
Coles handled both my parents funerals. They died 45 days apart. I dealt with Antonio and Karla. My mom was flown up from North Carolina. Karla took care of all of that for me. They didn't try to sell me any extras. I was pleased with both services. One star was taken away for minor issues.

Be careful with this company, they stole the rings off my grandmother fingers after having my mom sign a slip saying that they did not take any personal belongings. And make sure you keep track of who sends you flowers because they attempted to keep those too. As the put them in their car they said to us "oh you want these?" I would NOT recommend this funeral home.
Attended a service today the family hour was supposed to begin at 12:30 arrived at 12:15 only to open the door and all of these people were standing around in the hallway at 12 38 announcement was made that the chapel is now open so all of these people now from the hallway begin to enter the chapel keep in mind that when I arrive at 12:15 the book registry was at the counter there for people had to keep walking over you excusing themselves to sign the book once in the chapel the family procession started about 12 43 keep in mind the family hour was supposed to start at 12:30 my question is this why not open The chapel at noon allowing the guests to sign the registry and have a seat and then stand when the family arrived very disorganized I see why I only deal with o Pye which provides stellar service.
Unprofessional and made a difficult time even worse for our family. I could not in good conscience recommend them.
Their hearse driver was pretending he was leading a funeral procession going 71 in the left lane on I-75. After this experience I wouldn't be caught dead at James H. Cole Funeral Home!
The absolute worst! First, we waited over a year for the death certificate (see proof below). Second, every time we called, we spoke with someone different and they all had a bunch of excuses for the delay. Thirdly, they were wrong but offered no apologies. Instead of them taking responsibility for dropping the ball, they chose to be rude & unprofessional.
They did a beautiful job with my brother in-law's arrangement. However, they need to remove the Tribute store link from their website. I give this floral business a -1star. They can't deliver on their service and this is why I rated the funeral home a 4 instead of a 5 because I wouldn't tried to order an arrangement from this florist if it wasn't on Cole's website.
Directors and staff were highly professional and very considerate. All inquiries and concerns presented by the family were quickly follow upon.
Our family has done business with The Coles for years and this time they made an error and are refusing to correct it. Ms. Karla Cole will not return our families call, so know that loyalty or repeat business means nothing to them and go elsewhere. She admits they're at fault but doesnt want to pay the costs to correct the mistake, she suggest they might just provide a small compensation - NOT!
I loss my son in May of this year and from that up until now you how been there for me the day of his funeral services went good until we got to the cemetery the person who was in control at the cemetery held up your company for 2 and half hours and your people were there for me the hold time I felt bad that I took up so much of your time and they just kept telling me that they were there for me and only me that I should have not had to go through what I went through with the cemetery. I thank God for people like you and the great work that you did on my son he looked just like he was asleep and the great work you did on my family members that have went home to be with the Lord. I love you all and don't forget the Fish Fry on Saturday September 3, 2016 13217 Sussex again I love you and may God continue to bless you. Mrs. Gooden
They did a great job on my Grandmother but the lady at the desk was rude. We were put in a small room for viewing and apparently we were talking too loud amongst ourselves but if we were screaming and crying would that be acceptable??? She definitely left a bad taste in our mouth with her demeanor that “some people grieve differently” as if we weren’t grieving ourselves. Hutchinson it is from now on!
James H Cole Northwest Chapel provided the most amazing service. Everything they provided from beginning to end was excellent. Thank You.
THE EXPERIENCE I HAD WITH JAMES H.COLE FUNERAL HOME WERE WONDERFUL AND ALSO BLESSED THEY SERVICE WERE VERY GOOD LOOSING MY SON FRANCOIS QUESHON HASLIP SR. THEY WERE SO NICE TO MY FAMILY AND I. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. GOING THROUGH THE TIME OF MY GRIEVING THEY WERE GREAT SERVICE.
The staff is attentive, sympathetic to or grieving, I highly recommend James H Cole
My God sisters services , just awful. The funeral processional was dangerous. We had no flags on our cars, were not instructed where to line up. We drove one of the busiest streets in Michigan ,with cars going through and stopping at lights cause they had no idea it was a processional. Director said he didn't know that many cars would be there. Aren't they supposed to be prepared for these things?
I entrusted James H Cole Home for Funerals with my husband LaMar Homegoing Services. The staff at James H Cole on Schaefer was very pleasant, professional, and thorough with handling preparations for my husband. Mrs. Washington and Mr. Dozier were hands on with ensuring that my request were met. My husband looked exactly like himself, as if he were asleep! The black and silver casket was perfect! The professionalism, the care, and concerns of my needs, were beyond my expectations. The facility was immaculate! The livestream service was state-of-the-art! Everything was done in a quick, timely manner, and they effectively communicated with me every step of the way! I wish I could give them a higher rating. However, I can only give James H Coles 5 stars. I received stellar service from start to finish. If you are looking for a home for a funeral. I would highly recommend JHC in your time of need for your loved ones.
Unprofessional, decieving i will never take a love one there or refer a friend ( dont deal with antione green) liar liar
The funeral was nice, but the short man wasn’t very hospitable to my family and I. He wouldn’t allow me to go to my grandmother’s casket until it was too crowded for me to even get a good view of MY grandmother. He was also staunch and and rude to my brother, who was a first time paul bearer and wasn’t clear on the directions. This is a sensitive job dealing with sensitive people and i felt no sensitivity from him. I don’t know his name but he’s a funeral director who on November 5 was wearing a fedora. Short man, very disappointed.
What an awful experience. When you are already having a hard time dealing with the loss of a loved one, this awful place will nickel and dime you to death with additional fees if you don't want a package.
Services weren't provided for my Aunt as were paid- now Ms. Karla Cole- President is ghosting our family and will not return calls. Things happen but professional business owners accept responsibility and make it right- shame on you Ms. Karla Cole.
Always clean and professionals in the office
