With the sudden passing of my mother last week, I contacted Greenlawn to advise them of her passing. I was rather abruptly told that we needed to come in to pay for the opening and closing of her grave. I showed up with my father, brother and sister, we were greeted with a head nod. Not hello my name is.....not I’m so sorry for your loss. Each of us got a head nod from the female greeter with a cold expression. We were brought into a room and sat down with a male individual that is definitely in the wrong field of work! There was absolutely no compassion from anyone whatsoever! The gentleman explained to us what my mothers headstone would look like. That’s right! He explained it to us! No picture to show us, no diagram, nothing to show on his laptop. We have never gone through this before and he spoke to us like we did this for a living. As if we were supposed to close our eyes and imagine what he was saying, and that we would be ok with the imaginary headstone he was proposing to us. He wanted us to visualize this in our minds. After we asked him to show us something concrete, he did finally turn his laptop towards us to see what we would be getting. We paid for what we had, to in order to bury my beautiful mother, and we left, with nothing but a hole in the ground. So disappointed that we were treated so poorly after what we had just went through. Definitely need to take compassion courses!
