support the local charity
9 people in line, 1 chatty cashier, 5 other employees wandering around 'busy'.
Staff are really invasive. I don't Wana steal ur trash ppl left outside that you sell covered in women's pant liquid
I like to brouse this store occasionally to see what things have come in.
I always come shopping here because it is more affordable and I usually haven’t had any major problems. Unfortunately today, I had tried to cancel a transaction as my item was defective, the cashier saw me trying to cancel it and said she could not do anything as it ended up going through. She called the manager over to ask about a refund and I had attempted to politely explain the situation. She wouldn’t let me finish my sentence and cut me off with a harsh and rude no. I will not be shopping at this location anymore because of the poor customer service.
This little hidden gem is only a few minutes from home, and a great place to treasure hunt. When I have five or ten minutes to spare between appointments, my guilty pleasure is to drop in and have quick look. Make sure you get the $10 coupon for donations (we have two kids growing up way too fast) that you can spend guilt-free on that awesome shirt for Rifflandia theme day!
Neat stuff.
Love the salyAne
The poor student's friend, for the essentials of cookery, drinkery, housekeepery, clothery and furnitury
Nice place to make donations of all yr gently used goods, for a good cause.
(Translated) Ok, there are many useful items to choose from. (Original) 好,有许多有用的物品供选择y
Always find some kind of treasure!
Im sooo disappointed in your salvation army thrift store!! all I have to say is "wow" thrift stores were designed for people who are thrifty or dont want to spend or cant spend alot... Your store usto be one of my favorites i got off work today and came in to look around... Your prices that you have are desgustingly high! if i wanted to pay full price I would go to a mall. You need to look in the mirror at what kind of store you are... you get your clothing ect by donation and then you sell for that!! I will never EVER come back to your store.
Usually has decent quality stuff.
Great place to find things.
Love the variety. Friendly staff always very helpful
Excellent customer service, friendly staff, great prices. Lots to choose from. Something for everyone.
It is a pretty cool place with pretty cool things inside it. Can be very busy though. Apart from that definitely thrift here!
Great second hand store!
This is by far the best thrift store around we all know the Salvation Army great deals great clothes he just got a dig for them for a long time and you’ll get what you want
Good quality stuff, decent price
If you have good eyes you can find a fantastic goods.
I used to love this location, but I think they have a new manager and all the prices are quite high, some clothes costs more than brand new at Walmart. and some of the buy it now display case is like 2-3x more than what you would find on eBay for similar items. it's crazy gouging!
Pretty good selection, better than most but still small compared to value village downtown. I still stop by and check it out every once in a while but don't expect to always find something super good here as it doesn't fly through stock
(Translated) Stores like these are needed in Mexico with little money you can decorate a house and dress with second-hand clothes in good condition and if you donate objects they give you a coupon for $ 10 so that you buy a minimum of $ 25 (Original) Almacenes como estos hacen falta en México con poco dinero puedes decorar una casa y vestirte con ropa de segunda mano en buenas condiciones y si donas objetos te dan un cupón por $10 para que compres un mínimo de $25
Always a bargain to be found. Friendly helpful staff.
Awesome
This trends to be a cleaner more tidy location of salvation army than most.
Selection is limited depending on the size, but prices are beyond reasonable. It is important to remember that SallyAnn is a non-profit organization--unlike Value Village where the price of clothing can be quite high. As for the staff, they were friendly (if a little reserved). Overall, it is a good place to shop and a good cause to support. There are a variety of cool knick-knacks and comfortable clothes. It's best for one to judge how he/she will before believing the negativity of the masses.
The store is well organized, safe protocols for covid .
like to donate my clothes to store. shop too.
They put Out a Nike jacket with stains on the neck and body of the jacket without a price tag I go up to the counter thinking its maybe a 10$ item but they end up pricey the thing for 50$ not including tax, thrift store get all their stock either for a very low price or for free from people as donations. And they give nothing to donators back. They could atleast price their items fairly
Good deal
Lots of various kinds of stuff. Lots of fun
Great finds
Really big place. Prices are reasonable, much appreciated!
Decent prices
Taping VHS boxes (without the movies) to the display case is a real gem move. I don't buy your employee's story about only receiving the boxes and keeping them because of "cool artwork". Your store has no issue tossing out VHS movies which happens all the time and it should be against the law because tapes are still usable and harmful to the environment. Real winners that run this place starting with loud mouth Barry.
Very friendly and helpful staff !!
My favorite Sally Anne. Lots of selection, it's a HUGE store. Lots of parking. Staff are all very friendly.
I like/love it
This store has become ridiculously expensive over the past year or two. Acts like a boutique and takes advantage of its patrons. Used to be a great place. Have really lost respect for the organization.
Okay place to browse, but choice goods are usually all gone. Try lesser well known places for second hand goods instead.
The prices are an absolute joke! $29.00 for a worn out pair of mens slacks, $10 coffee mugs, $15 for a wrinkly old dress. This location has the most ridiculous prices.
Great place, friendly
Good selection of stuff but the prices are ridiculously high. They wanted $8 for a mug! I can get a new one at Walmart for $2.
Clean. Good selection and cheap items.
This particular second hand store was where I got most of my 3rd childs clothing. Great deals. Good selection. Quality name brands. I keep going here.
Oh my god this place has the Best Fried Chicken in town!! Crispy, Tender, Juicy, Yummy
Very unfriendly and grumpy female manager.
This place is overpriced.
Best selection of clothes, often some are still with tags. Not many books or housewears
Great service. Found exactly what I needed.
Probably the best thift store in Victoria!
I generally love this store, but I am not liking the current policy that you cannot return kids shoes. I know this is a policy for all stores because of Covid 19, however, I will not be bringing my kids into these stores and therefore cannot try them on.
Called ahead to see what they were taking - I had two bags mixed toys/clothes and a small book shelf. Get to recieving and the person told me no furniture since covid and that I would have to separate the bags. Wish I got this notice ahead of time when I called because the receiver was seemingly flustered dealing with shenanigans like this all day and I left with a car full of stuff quite flustered myself. Please take the time to inform people calling of drop-off procedures, if they are asking what is available for dropoff, and let them know of any big changes since covid. It's too bad because I have had great finds here and recieved excellent costumer service in the past.
Great savings
This place has gone INSANE with their pricing. I go to a lot of thrift stores, and I only still go to this one for amusement purposes. Their pricing is so absolutely absurd that I find it entertaining. They price everything off of eBay. I have news for you Cedar Hill Salvation Army - You're Not eBay! If I wanted eBay prices, I'd shop on eBay. I really didn't want to have to write this review but I've stood by and watched their pricing grow to RIDICULOUS proportions. Everything with a brand name label gets marked up ridiculously high. The only "deals" to be had in this store is on the junk from WalMart, Joe Fresh and the like. They continually put everything decent into their "Auction" cases and the "Special Items" racks are full of overpriced stuff they think is worth money but isn't. Want to look at half decent men's shoes? They're all behind a glass case at the front desk with absurd pricing. I'm okay with pricing the occasional high dollar, valuable item at a higher price. I understand that sometimes they do genuinely get products that are worth hundreds, if not thousands of dollars - I get that. I understand that some rare and collectible items should go into the auction case or special items racks... This isn't about that. This is about crazy pricing on everything, all the time. The pricing is just Bonkers. You thought Value Village was bad for pricing? This place takes the cake for Victoria, hands down. I laugh out loud to myself when I walk around this store. Ridiculous. A Used Danier Men's Leather Jacket for $174.99 (yes, one hundred and seventy four dollars for a used leather jacket from Danier... This store thinks that anything made of leather is like gold) A Used COMPANY EMBROIDERED Lee Stormrider jacket for $49.99 (The prices they charge on things with company embroidered logos just boggles my mind...) A Used Calvin Klein Men's Wool Peacoat for $74.99 A Used Pair Of SeanJohn Jeans For $39.99 (I'd never buy SeanJohn jeans but this is double what every other store in Vic charges for them) A Used Adolfo (Can't even find it on eBay) Jacket For $74.99 If you somehow do manage to find a "deal" at this store - Consider yourself very lucky, do a happy dance and then go buy a scratch and win ticket because their eBay researching pricer either missed the item or was on a break. Another consequence of their outrageous pricing is that I will never donate to this store knowing that they'll jack everything I give to them up to absurd pricing levels. I'm sure everyone who donates to this store would be absolutely appalled knowing how much their "donated" items are being priced for sale. If you want to have some good laughs, then go check out the pricing in this supposed "Thrift Store" :-)
Great findings. All books in great condition and fairly priced.
This is my new favourite thrift store. I've made lots of good finds here!
I was in the store a few days ago and there seemed to be a fair number of people without masks and not self distancing. Also, there was no limit on many people could be in the store. Some of the employees weren't even wearing masks.
Good thrift store.
Descent place and ever changing selection but the prices are ridiculous at times. There missing the whole point of being affordable
Their price is getting more expensive. It is a Thrift store for crying out loud. Clothes should be $5. Not $14.99- Hello!? Something is so wrong! They should price their stuff right. Their items are our donations. The thrift store did not buy them brand new. Not a boutique. I hope this review will reach the manager/ management. Thank you.
Great deals good stuff.
I don't like the auction cases the store now have..you are not permitted to inspect items before bidding on them..so in fact Salvation Army is now practicing gambling without a license..this concept is similar to buying a scratch ticket..you buy but never know what you have won until you scratch or lottery numbers a drawn.
Ridiculous prices...above retail store prices ....I saw Jean's for$40....shorts for $19.99...shirts for $20.... just crazy .....they have forgotten the whole concept of a thrift shop ....ludicrous......
You get what you pay for
Unfriendly staff and it smells stale in the store.
As much as much as possible!
This store is well run and organized! The staff is friendly and professional.
Very overpriced. They are gauging poor people. It’s clear they are looking up the value of items and pricing them at almost new price. I thought thrift stores were supposed to be affordable for struggling people in need? You’re better off just requesting free clothes from a food bank.
Never fail to find a treasure and staff very helpful !
Always find good treasures here..staff are super friendly..they all seem to enjoy their jobs which makes it an awesome atmosphere!!
Always large fabulous Collections of Clothing, Crystal, Linens, Footwear! Super Clean , Bright, COVID-19 conscious, cheerful atmosphere.
Good near-new goods and clothing.
(Translated) Make the best use of the goods, the product classification is clear and diverse (Original) 物盡其用,商品分類多樣清楚
Good s place for helping others. ????
Busy big Sally Ann. Unfortunately prices are starting to become boutique like but often uninformed..esp clothing and records but like most thrift shops bargain s can be had. Staff are friendly
Dirty and disorganized. Stuff just thrown in boxes. Overpriced and anything like North Face or name brand was $30 and up ...rediculous!
Terrible customer service! Its like the staff is angry that they work there and take it out on the customer! Horrible experience everytime! Never going back!!
Love it..great deals.
Great deals
I loved the service, really nice people willing to help you out and even make you have a good time; affordable clothing and accessories of any kind in the store, they even do sales on already really low price things.
Well organized!
Very reasonable prices of second hand items.
Cheap prices
I've bought some beautiful tops there. I've also found the volunteers friendly. Not expensive.
Nice big store but the prices are too high for a second hand store and they said they are not giving out coupons anymore for bringing in your used items.
Rather overpriced
Great selection, open late, highly recommend
Great store - lots of good stuff at low prices. And they're always taking clean clothes and household goods for donation.
The best thrift store in Victoria. Reasonable prices and great finds
Very nice staff
Always nice staff which made me decide to donate to this location Feb 3rd clothing, books, and expensive cologne (Guess + Prada) I can't use (sensitivity). All items hard for me to release. Books I could've sold to Russell's, some bought in the last few months with price still on them. Old man taking donations was rude and lied repeatedly: 1) said they don't take books, which I know is untrue as I bought one from their donations on Jan 13 (Jim Crow book in image). I told him. He angrily said, "It slipped through the cracks!" 2) said no one is taking books due to Covid. That was true last spring (?!). Books are now a top thrift seller 3) said their warehouse (?!) is full. I've been here enough to see they bring items inside. Bookshelves were empty of good books as they'd just had a sale. He wanted to pick through the box to see what items he wanted. I said, "no" I will take them somewhere else. And they were happy to take the books... I'm a veteran in my 40s. Dress as nice as I can. If this is how he treats someone like me I can't imagine how he treats struggling people. The young people who work here are awesome. This fool needs to retire.
Organised
Great place to shop for clothing and household items. They have a good supply in stock and good prices. Plus you feel good about recycling clothes and not adding to the ongoing problem of "fast fashion" and adding more waste to the landfill.
I found the rest of My Son's Halloween Costume Here.
It's a fun location to look around. Staff are not helpful or friendly
Its a great place!
Too expensive
Always find a treasure and save
I shop there a LOT!! Always friendly, knowledgeable staff who are willing to help you with a smile on their face!!
I had a very bad experience at this shop today. The staff was rude and insulting. I’ve shopped there many times in the past but never ever again.
Difficult to make donations, but does a lot of good.
A great chain of thrift stores with a great selection, from toys, games, clothes, and housewares. There's been a definite increase in their ability to recognize the value of rare and collectible items, which are now available through 'auctions'. This is good, as it gives more visibility to these items, and more chance to get something interesting, but unfortunate for those searching for diamonds in the rough, though great deals can still be found. Donations are rewarded with a coupon for $10 off purchases of $25 or more, so plan your donations and purchases appropriately.
One of the best thrift stores in Victoria, this place has lots to offer. Antiques, mattresses, small appliances, clothing are but a small sample. Whether you need a pair of cool jeans or a knick-knack for a gift, you'll find it here and have fun browsing.
Good thrift shop, not a ton of items.
Got what i needed.. although, prices are getting way too high! I saw 2 shirts there exactly Identical in brand and size. One was $1.99 and the other was $6.99. Not sure what happened there but i think employees need to pay more attention and remember why sally ann is there in the first place. Its mainly about the people in need. Not money.
Great staff and lots of merchandise!
fast turnover of quality clothing Excellent customer service snd friendly staff. very fair pricing my favorite place to shop
Great store
Better prices than vv.
Great selection of items. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Fair enough
Always a good place to shop.
Good selection of items but, some customers don't adhere to personal space or social distancing.
Found what I was looking for
It always has something I need or want. Staff are everywhere and available to help find things or open a change room. Lots of action around the auction items today while I was there!
The prices are way to high. Could of bought some things cheaper in a retail store and other items still too high!!!????
Nice store, quite a bit of everything.
I find that items are way overpriced. Some items can be found in other stores new for less or in consignment stores for better prices. I love to collect specific books, but do not have time to wade through trying to find authors not in alphabetical order.
Friendly staff. Very well supplied for the tipe of the store. Excellent prices
Some bargains to be found here, but a lot of overpriced used junk too. There are clothes, accessories, and household goods. There are change rooms. One can drop off donations here too. They have sales too.
This is a large thrift store, well organized and run by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bargains galore
This is a good size store and is well organized. Stock constantly changes and prices are fair.
They have huge selection. I buy most clothes to my little boy there. There are enough parkings. The prices are a little higher than second hand stores in Sooke I've lived and it's the reason of 4 stars.
Poverty pimps
You try to do something nice and donate... you fall ahead to make sure they are accepting donations and then they tell you because they are loading a truck that they are not accepting donations. Take your things somewhere else there are other worthy organizations that actually accept donations during working hours
Listing your correct STORE open hours with Google would be nice. The donor centre opens a full hour before the store does, meaning people who show up thinking the store opens at 9am have wasted their time.
Always tons of new items coming in. Year round Christmas section is seriously so great! Staff are cordial and friendly. Always have tons of great art! Lots of kitchen items. LOVE that when you donate you get a $10 off coupon when you spend $25 or more! Great incentive. Cleanest sallyann ive been to. Great location. Did you know it takes 10,000 liters of water to make 1 pair of jeans? Why not do the planet and your wallet a favour and shop used!!!?? :)
Great place to work. Great selection of clothes, footwear, household items, etc. Basically everything you need for your home you can find here. Also if you're looking to get rid of electronics for recycling drop it off here.
Bought an armload of things here today. Had to ask for a bag. Was offered a small, filthy clotb bag with a hole in it for 50 cents. This store gouges you at every opportunity....on things they get for nothing. Also noticed they still have their "special" shelves...where they have googled their donated items, and are asking the highest price possible. Truly hateful place.
5 star.......love supporting SA and their community efforts. Profits from the Thrift Store support families, drug rehab, alcohol rehab, single moms, etc. The other big thrift store, well they give a small percentage to a charitable organization, but most of it they keep. So when it comes time to support, I support SA.
Doing good job
Found King tut's burial urns, make great planters.
Easy access..always new things coming in to see..plus seniors discount
Always enjoy the variety
Large thrift store. Good selection of kitchen utensils and gadgets. Got to spend the time to find the treasures hiding in there.
I always find treasures here! Staff are super friendly and helpful, donations are easy to drop off.
We attempted to donate a few bags of items this morning and were ‘greeted’ by the most rude staff member in charge of receiving. We first arrived at 850 and were told, very sternly, that they open at 9 and will not accept donations until then- when asked if there was a donation bin near by he simply turned his back and walked away. Fast forward to 10:00 when se returned and the donation truck was there - when we asked again where to drop our things off he yelled at us ‘no! You can’t donate with the truck here!’ We stated that we can leave the items next to the pillar outside the store and he ‘threatened’ to take a picture of our licence plate- like we were breaking the law. Keep in mind that we are simply trying to give the store items that they can sell, to contribute to charity. It’s a shame that this guy is the first point of contact. He hates his job and it sure shows. A lovely customer in line pulled us aside and said that they have have run ins with the same staff member on numerous occasions. We will not support this particular store.
