My father pre-planned the funeral in advance and when the time came, the experience was smooth and effortless. Sherry handled the details and showed exceptional compassion and efficiency. Due to Covid, there were some changes to my dad's plan, but they were handled professionally and with mutual consideration. The overall experience I had at Comstock-Kaye made one of the most difficult times in my life more manageable.

Comstock was absolutely fabulous! They were very considerate and caring in a very difficult time, losing a loved one. They understand so completely all the details that must be arranged and took care to write us notes on all the paperwork. Knowing in our grief we would forget some of the necessary information. I had been thinking about what would happen if I died for quite a while. By quite a while, I mean for over ten years. I had always wanted to be cremated and wondered how that would happen if no one was around that knew that. It weighed heavily on me that my wishes may not be fulfilled when the time came. Just by chance, I happened to be at the mall where Kaye-Comstock had a booth set up. After making the appointment, which felt right, I was more than pleased to make arrangements with them. Now I have a burden taken off. I don't have to worry that my daughters or any other remaining relatives will have to foot the bill and struggle on funeral arrangements. Most of all, my wishes for cremation will be fulfilled. Moreover, every last detail will be taken care of including the service, food, memorable tokens, pictures/videos and how I would want my remains taken care of.

Dean and his staff at Comstock-Kaye made the loss of our mother a lot easier to bear than it might have been. They walked us through all of the things that had to be done without being intrusive but always there as a 'shoulder to lean on'. The service even followed through until after the funeral when they looked after all the paperwork for the government, ensuring that no one could ever use my mother's cards for fraudulent purposes. Everything was handled perfectly. They were very caring and wanted to make sure that everything was done the way our family wanted it. In this difficult time of restrictions due to a Pandemic, they make it work. They were also very helpful after the funeral with helping to do required paper work and providing a package to guide you with the many things that need to be changed, canceled etc. after the loss of a loved one.

The after care visit was very helpful. At this visit, a staff member led me through a list of items that the centre took care of (i.e., cancellation of CPP) and tasks my family needs to check on. The staff continues to answer questions very promptly. Our family is benefiting from the ability to share the obituary via email and a link from the centre’s website. Some favourite things: the candle lit beside the urn when I picked up the ashes; laughs shared with staff; the ability for a family member to Skype when I was attending a visit. Best ever: our family member prepaid and preplanned the arrangements. We’ve changed some things due to Covid but it has definitely helped us overall.

The team prepared most of the documents needed to start processes with government agencies, which was enormously helpful.
