I cannot say enough about Kevin and his staff at KVM....my first experience was two years ago when my brother passed away. My brothers service had close to 1000 attendees and it went off without a hitch...it was exactly what my brother would have wanted...every single detail was taken care of. Last month my mother passed away at Hospice. I had no experience nor knowledge of everything involved when someone passes. Once again, one phone call and every detail was taken care of...I really can't thank you enough Kevin...it was such a comfort knowing that Mom was very well taken care of... My recommendation is skip over the big chains and choose KVM...family owned and operated not to mention huge community supporters ..you won't be sorry Gitta Schoenne

Not just by handing money over - but by actually rolling up their sleeves and doing the volunteer work. Kevin and Lee deliver backpacks of food to kids in need every single week of the school year. I've seen Kevin volunteer his time to wash windows, sit at a desk and sell raffle tickets for local charities, and I've seen them both make soup for women in need in our community. These are just a few examples. I could list hundreds of ways these two have given back. They genuinely care about our community and the people in it. My husband passed away suddenly after a long battle with cancer and KVM was my first call, as they had helped a friends family a few months prior. I am so glad I called them first. I didn't feel scared of the unknown after speaking to him for five minutes, as he was so professional and comforting.. I knew my husband was in good hands. He was true to his word and drove in a snowstorm to pick up my husband within an hour after he passed. I was able to have the relief of knowing he was resting safely at his final destination by the evening of his passing. KVM was very compassionate while I organized finances, and put my mind at ease with any questions I had. They treated me as a first class client even though I only got a basic cremation package. The love of my life passed from leukemia in Vancouver at the beginning of January, it was expected but sudden. We had spent a few days prior looking on Google together at funeral homes. I knew I had a bunch of things to arrange but I had no idea where to start. I called Kettle Valley Memorial immediately after his passing, at 730 in the morning, and Kevin answered on the second ring. Kevin listened attentively to my fears and concerns, answered all my questions, and explained every detail to me clearly and compassionately. Kevin and KVM were able to transport Shieran home from Vancouver to Penticton quickly, and carefully. They were able to make arrangements with me, over the phone, and through email as I arranged to get myself home. The patience and kindness they have shown me is immeasurable. I got quotes from all of the businesses, Kettle Valley Memorial was by far the least expensive for the services provided. Also it’s the only family owned business, which makes it feel more personal. Kevin was absolutely wonderful and caring and helped my mom though everything she needed. Very easy and fast process. They were very good at giving us the services we wanted and didn’t try to up sell anything, plus they gave an “all in” price right from the beginning and there were no hidden fees or surprises. Dealing with the death of a loved one is tough but KVM was amazing at making it less painful, I would highly recommend! Planning a funeral is never a pleasant business even if you are prepared for it. We were not, but Keven and his team walked us through every step with such kindness and patience. There are so many little things you can't even begin to think of and he made sure all the Ts were crossed and I's were dotted. We had called a couple of places and found the bigger chain businesses just a money grabbing circus . There was no upselling, and believe me there can be and ridiculous hidden costs which Kettle Valley does not implement.
