I first met Andre Pilon when he took care of my mom 20+ years ago, I thought he was exceptional, compassionate and caring. Earlier this year, we lost a sister, once again, from the moment he came to pick her up at the house, through the visitations, service and internment Andre and his staff were professional, making sure every detail of my sister’s wishes were followed and his words of condolence were eloquent and from the heart. In September, my niece passed, once again Andre was there. I have attended many funerals in my life, but this was the first time I had to make the arrangements for someone’s funeral. Andre walked us through the process, making an exceptionally sad experience much easier, explaining options, ensuring every detail, many of which I would not have thought of, would be taken care of with utmost respect and thoughtfulness. He and his staff were supportive and accommodating throughout the day, making sure everyone’s needs were met. When he spoke about my niece, it was as if he knew her personally, what was in her heart and what was in ours. He spoke with compassion, grace, and thoughtfulness that touched everyone. I don’t know the words to use that can convey the highest appreciation, thankfulness and gratitude I feel for Andre Pilon and his staff. I will be forever grateful for all Pilon Family Funeral Home has done for my family. Thank you for all you do.

It has been a year since my mother-in-law died suddenly at home and being rural it made it difficult to get her taken to Andre's home and all the very last minute arrangements made. Nothing had been arranged with Andre yet all it took was a quick phone call and he immediately showed up. Andre was patient while the police and paramedics followed their usual sudden death processes and then stepped in to take over. Their team was fantastic and worked with us on all of the details and provided excellent suggestions on how things should be done but also listened carefully to what we wanted done! The service was amazing and Andre carried the day with his views on how she lived and the paradise she was in when she left us. I truly cannot say enough about her care and final treatment and how Andre interacted with our families and friends. Once again, from the Scott family, thank-you Andre and your team for everything you did at what was a very distressful time in our lives.

I attended the visitation of a dear friend’s mother recently and was impressed by the sensitive words of the funeral director at the end of the visitation. I’ve been to countless visitations over the years but I don’t recall ever having experienced the final moments with the dearly departed (before the closing and funeral liturgy from the church) carried out with such consoling words and a gentle explanation of things. I love my high school friend and his family. His mom was like a second mother to me. It was an honour to be there after so many years and to experience this beautifully supported, extraordinarily tender moment. It touched me deeply and I’ll never forget it.

While out of the country when my father passed away, André helped me communicate with my family and be part of the process while using FaceTime to make the arrangements. André was extremely professional while at the same time not making you feel like a customer but more of a friend. He understood our budget and never tried to sell us services we did not need. He made comforting recommendations and made the overall experience very peaceful. The after service provided by Gina was also a great help. Our family has been served by the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior since 1996. The professionalism, attentiveness, and compassion demonstrated by Andre (Licensed Funeral Director and Certified Celebrant), his wife, Gina (Grief Recovery Specialist) and Phil, son and Licensed Funeral Director is second to none. Andre and his staff provided a ‘service of excellence’ in all respects. They quickly learned and understood our family needs and the preferences of our deceased family members. In every instance, the Pilon family made the death experience peaceful and meaningful while accommodating diverse family wishes. My family found that given the above in addition to the stress-free video production, the catering on site, the organist on staff, the lovely chapel, and the spacious and beautifully furnished visitation rooms, Pilon and family did it all for us! The Pilon funeral assistants were found to be personable and helpful and knew our large family by first name and relationship to the deceased on our first visit to the funeral home. I also interacted with Andre when working as the administrator of a local nursing home. Within that setting, my staff and I witnessed the care and respect Andre showed toward each deceased resident and family served. Prior to the body being removed from the Home, Andre always took time to acknowledge and console grieving family members and staff. As well, he participated fully in our Closure Service, an opportunity for all residents and staff to share prayers and to express our sympathy to the family of the deceased. Families within the town of Arnprior, the Ottawa Valley and far beyond have utilized Pilon Funeral Services and never once, have I heard a complaint or any level of dissatisfaction. The Colton family highly recommends this family-owned Funeral Home to all those in search of high quality and compassionate care and service for their loved ones.
