Wandering Wendigo

I may not have been inside but the cemetary is a nice place to have a picnic and to enjoy peace amongst spirits. I find it very peaceful and quiet. I come here often to walk around, draw, or even to watch the fish in the ponds. Its very quiet despite being next to Dundas. I've yet to see any severe problems and if there were some, they were quickly fixed such as broken plates or severely sunken plates. This is a very old cemetary with the oldest plate dating back to the early 1840s. (Can't remember off the top of my head.) If you find a park is too busy, this cemetary is peaceful and quiet. Plus, hanging out with spirits won't hurt you, in fact, it might be insightful. <3

This place doesn't care about you or your family. They didn't give us the correct urn we picked out, and then said it wasn't their mistake/it looked similar enough to the one we wanted - they refused to take responsibility for their mistakes. My sister and I spent ages on our father's slideshow only to have them leave out 10 pictures - not to mention they only allowed 40 pictures and it became $2 a photo after that. You MUST use their catering, they refused to let us bring in our own, but theirs is ridiculously expensive ($8 a PERSON for sandwiches!! and that's just the basic package). If I could give negative stars I would. They made a really difficult time way harder than it needed to be. Beware of this place, they're money grabbers.

It never crossed our minds to get a plot for our final resting place until Rene and Linda Bunag called us up. In the beginning, my husband and I were very skeptical and refused to talk about this sensitive topic. Painstakingly, they started explaining to us numerous benefits of purchasing our plot before the inevitable thing ever happens to any of us. We liked the way they presented themselves, both personally & professionally. They clearly guided us through and explained the wide range of products and services being offered by FOREST LAWN CEMETERY. Our questions were answered to our complete satisfaction. They have the patience & respected our time to think about the myriad of information they have provided in order for us to make an educated decision. With such excellent service we got, we did not hesitate to invite our friends to also buy their plot next to ours. Rene & Linda possess the right aptitude in dealing with people. I am confident both of them will be valuable assets to your institution.

Dealing with the loss of a loved one is difficult at any time, covid has made it that much harder. I was contacted by Sara after I had picked up my dad's remains asking if she could assist with providing some of the paperwork required to submit to the government. I cannot tell you how overwhelmed I was by her thoughtfulness when I opened the package of paperwork to discover that not only had she filled out most of the information for me but highlighted where I had to provide additional information and signatures PLUS she also included addressed envelopes for each set of forms. WOW!!! Definitely service above and beyond and such a blessing when our family is mourning the loss of my dad. Thank you. Sara, from the bottom of my heart.

I am disgusted at the advantage taken by the "sales staff" at Forest Lawn today who pressured my step father into purchases that he declined, using emotional manipulation to do so. Taking advantage of people in the midst of their grief to apply pressure sales tactics is despicable. I encourage all those dealing with Forest Lawn to decide well before the time of grief the services you want from them.

I could not believe how rude, disorganized, and insensitive the staff were when we had my grandmother's funeral here. They didn't even dig a hole big enough for the casket so they handed the pallbearers screw drivers and put us to work unscrewing the handles from the inside of the casket. Items people put inside the casket to be buried with her blew away in the wind during this process. I would never recommend this funeral home.

I was not able to attend a service and joined in on the live stream. It was unfortunate that the camera was only focused and pointed at the priest. No disrespect, but the camera should have been placed somewhere else so we could have seen the wider spectrum of the room. I really wanted to see my family. I have attended other services via live stream and was able to see family members, but this very disappointing. But with that said, I have before, attended services there and they were very nice. My review was only for the live stream. Thanks

Their are many reasons why I do not like Forest Lawn and wouldn't Recommend it at all. #1 WAY TO EXPENSIVE! - We recently had my grandfather (October 23, 2016) laid to rest here. He had his plot and everything set but when he died my grandmother had only so much to spend on his funeral. I didn't mind the casket or anything but when it came for the hearse ride to the cemetery it coasted her $300.00! That is SOOO OUTRAGOUS. If my grandfather was alive and heard that it coasted $300.00 to drive around a block he would of rather had a pickup truck dropped him off to his plot. Back at my town it would of coasted $150.00 to take him from the funeral home to the cemetery witch was 5 minute drive.. #2 Awful Service - The people were so rude to disturb our moment of silence while we visited him on his open casket. and couldn't wait for everyone to have their final farewells. When we got home people said that it was very disrespectful and totally uncalled for that they couldn't even say goodbye to his face one last time. #3 Heavy Machinery at a CEMENTERY?! - Not only was it rude to my Grandfather but it was rude to everyone whos been placed to REST IN PEACE in this cemetery. We got to the plot of where he was to be buried and sound massive tire tracks rolled on the grass over peoples gravestones and damaging the grass. My dad and I said that these people are too cheap that they would hire heavy machinery over MANUAL LABOUR. the way its suppose to be done!' Overall we only had my grandfather and soon to be grandmother placed here because my grandfathers family was placed here. I surly know I wont be going here anytime soon once so ever! I am sorry to anyone who had such rude services here before and I hope you find other places to go. OVERALL I would highly NOT RECCOMEND Rating 0/1 mill Stars.

It felt like I was in the F&I office of a car dealership buying rustproofing. Communication from our contact was terrible. It made a difficult time even more difficult. Once we no longer wanted the premium package we were no longer a priority.

I am astounded with the lack of care of existing grave sites. When I could not find my Mother's grave, I went into the office to ask about a map of where people are - there isn't one. He did not have my Mother listed and asked me 3 times if I had the correct spelling.....REALLY??!! Plaques were buried under cut grass and many had so much mud on them you could not see the name. Terrible....just terrible.

He explained to me in detailed and showed me the cremation place and and different place where ashes were place. One of the worst cemeteries I've ever been in, perhaps the only one that literally buries people at the side of the road. Every year we visit my grandfather's grave and I'm more and more disturbed by what I see at this cemetery, there are literally plots and grave plaques at the roadsides that, with a lack of visibility, are consistently driven over by visitors. It's so dispicable it leaves knots in my stomach. They don't even try to erect some kind of barrier to protect these graves and grave markers. I guess since they've already taken their money and the people are dead they could care less! I've given them two stars only because there are no doubt a few good people employed here who probably don't deserve a bad rating, the grounds at least usually look nice. I did not choose for my family members to be buried here, but if in the future I have any say, it will not be at Forest Lawn.

When I had to find a nitch for my daughter who died of leukaemia at age 6 02-19-2011 they were very polite and considerate they even made special spot so I didn’t have to get a step stool every time I wanted to put flowers in her vase, they made sure to be patient and respectful when helping us to the wall in feb so didn’t slip and fall thank you for lawn you’ve always showed all 7 of my family members respect I hope you never stop appreciate the love

Had to wait almost a week to get my father cremated. I called to see when I could pick up his ashes and they said he wasn’t there and that they would call when it was done. They never called they held my fathers ashes hostage. Then when I complain they do nothing do not use this place
