Canadian Casket Depot made sorting out a somewhat difficult and awkward affair into a very easy one. I initially thought that I had to purchase expensive alternatives at my selected funeral home; I was pleased to discover that this was not the case. You can buy your casket at Casket Depot for a fraction of the price that you would pay at a funeral home. Just because you lost someone, it does not mean that you need to spend more money than is necessary! Casket Depot has a great selection of high-quality and classic coffins to choose from. I very much recommend that you look at Canadian Casket Depot as a viable alternative if you ever (God forbid) have to make a similar purchase. Thank you for the great service Jeff!

The service and Kindness our family received at our Most difficult time of our lives was outstanding. Both the selection of items made out ability to choose the perfect urns made, what we going in would be difficult. Jeff walked us through the various urns and when my mom described what she wall looking for he took her right to it. Then when we inquired if they provide engraving for the urn, once again they surpassed our expectations and provided an incredible etching of my father’s name and a set of bagpipes. It was a real shock when my uncle passed away. We had no idea what to do or who to call. The hospital was very unhelpful in helping us make a wise economic decision as they told us to call very expensive funeral homes. Once at the funeral home my uncle had already been delivered to the funeral home. At the arrangment confrense we were told the funeral will cost 15,000 with the casket costing 7,000.00. The funeral director handed us a brochure from the ontario funeral board that said we can provide our own casket. We googled casket retailers from the funeral home. We were very lucky to find casket depot. We found the exact same casket for 1800.00. We told the funeral director we needed a moment alone. We called casket depot. Since we were in Scarborough and casket depot is in scarborough they were able to deliver the casket while we were still at the funeral home. While we were inspecting the casket along with the funeral home staff. The funeral director commented on how he was shocked at the high quality of the casket. Our Family’s experience with Casket Depot was excellent! The website gave us a good understanding of the casket selection and the various price points. I visited the Casket Depot showroom in order to satisfy our Family this choice would be respectful of our Mom. I shared with Jeff and Lorie the location of the funeral home (about 200 km away) and our tight delivery timeline requirement -- which absolutely had to be met! They assured me they would absolutely meet all our requirements – AND THEY DID!! Less than five hours after agreeing to the purchase, Mom’s casket was on site at the funeral home -- 20 hours ahead of the agreed deadline. Thank you again, Casket Depot!

They provide me all necessary information including the Funeral Act disallow funeral home illegally charge to client who didn't purchase the casket from them. The funeral home casket price is few times higher than Casket Depot but the quality is not as good as Casket Depot. I am talking about $ 8000 common one from Funeral home compare to a good quality casket from Casket Depot $ 1700. My experience is when the client is in sadness and frustration, sales (they named Director) will sell you more experive service and items which is unnecessary purchase from them. It is unethical as well. Total bill may talking about $ 22,000 compare to $ 9000. Please talk to Casket Depot people. You may get valuable advices to save you a big money to buy a new small vehicle instead. Please share my experience.

We were in the process of dealing with the loss of are sweet pup. Trying to find an urn or something else to put her in. Couldn’t find anything on other sites until I found casket depot. It had many options that were all quite nice and I then I found the one I chose. Which works for what I needed it for. It’s a lovely item to have my pup in. Would definitely recommend them to people it was ordered and came in a short amount of time.

Beware of Casket Depot! Although they came through in the end, it was not without 48 hours of stress and worries they created due to their lack of integrity and disregard for everyone’s time. There is no excuse for trying to pull a switch and bait if it suits their delivery schedule. Due to the Chinese New Year, the casket model that I was looking for was out of stock at another casket retailer I had previously dealt with. I visited the showroom at Casket Depot just over a week before my mom's funeral in search of a cherry coloured casket and high gloss finish. Jeff was very cordial and confirmed the “Esther Cherry” model was out of stock. He showed me a “Hamilton Cherry” model that had the exact colour and glossy finish I was looking for except for the corner details. Jeff assured me the casket would be delivered as agreed the following week on Wednesday. Jeff also commented they also supplied Costco with caskets while showing me other caskets in the back of the showroom. Fast forward to Wednesday the next week and a delivery driver left me a voice message around 11am to call back regarding the delivery. Jeff called me at about 1pm and said they wanted to leave right away to deliver early as they wanted to make another delivery later in the day (which sounded like it was further away). I reminded him this was not possible because I had to be there inspect and sign-off on the delivery at the funeral home. He assured me it would be delivered by 3:30pm as agreed. At about 3:20pm someone called to advise the delivery was going to be about 20 minutes late because a driver didn't show up for work. At about 4pm I called back and was told the delivery van just left about 20 minutes prior and Sandy, the owner was personally making this delivery. While waiting, I noticed it was Crown Funeral Supplies that actually called me and not the Casket Depot to advise they were running late. Turns out this is was a different company altogether also located in Scarborough. The casket finally arrived for inspection almost two hours late. There was a very conspicuous chip along the edge of one side about ¼” in diameter that exposed the unfinished wood. The colour of the casket also looked more brown-red than a noticeable red-brown. Sandy claimed the casket was fine when it left their warehouse and it must have been damaged during unloading at the funeral home. Further, she said this casket was the same one I saw a week prior at their shop. Being late is one thing but outright lying is inexcusable given we are talking about purchasing something to lay a family member to rest. I refused the delivery and called Jeff, demanding an explanation. Because of their disregard for my and everyone else’s time we had to reschedule to delivery to the day before my mom’s burial. Further, I did not appreciate the bait and switch they were trying to pull. It is because of potential issues like this that funeral homes require caskets purchased outside are delivered at least 4 days before the burial date. After exchanging texts with Jeff this is what likely happened: the casket that was supposed to be delivered to our funeral home was diverted to make other deliveries. When they realized they were not going to deliver on time, they had a related company try to deliver a casket that was the same model but different finish to the funeral home. After leaving the funeral home, I checked Crown Funeral Supplies website. The “Hamilton Poplar” model on their website looked exactly like the one they tried to deliver in comparing it with the photo I took of the damaged casket. And Guess what? The “Hamilton” casket at Casket Depot priced at $1,780 is priced almost the same as a similar model with cherry finish at Costco.ca. However, the casket company that supplies Costco is Walker Caskets as stated on their website and is located in Richmond Hill. As of Feb 23rd Casket Depot has removed the Hamilton model from their website. Karma will give Casket Depot what it deserves.

I called up and they couldn't have been greater. I dealt with Lorrie and she was sympathetic, helpful, understanding, and professional. We required a casket for cremation and Lorrie guided me through the best caskets for our needs. She offered me a casket that wasn't listed on the website. She sent me a high resolution photo of it and it was perfect. She arranged to have the casket delivered to the funeral home the same day. When it arrived, it was great, just like in the photos and it was in great shape (no scratches, dings, or discoloration). When you're steeped in grief, some people help you and some people hinder you, Lorrie helped me, thank you so much!

If future needs arise I would definitely use this company again. Casket depot....In future, I wouldn't put the product label on the velvet box as it is very difficult to get off without ruining the box.
