I want to thank Erick and Elizabeth for all their help with my dad's funeral. He was a long time Sequim resident and died suddenly in July. I was living out of town, but when I came to Sequim, Erick was able to find a time to meet with me right away. We were able to plan the funeral and Erick had everything needed to help me make all my choices. He was helpful in giving suggestions based on experience when I needed it. I appreciated his gentle and kind demeanor during the emotional time I was having. Every detail came together without a flaw and went very smoothly. After the funeral, I had a lot of piece knowing everything was done and there was rest. I have been working with Emily to order the headstone and look forward to its installation. I would not hesitate to recommend Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel to anyone. Thank you.

The funeral business is a strange and awkward business: taking care of the deceased and dealing with loved ones in various stages of grief. It looks like the opportunity to take advantage of grieving clients would be easy. I have found Erick's dealings with me and my family members were honest, straightforward, sensitive and helpful. At my request he retrieved important personal effects from my wife's body three times. He and the staff were always available when we needed them and he was easy to talk to. It feels to me like Erick and Elizabeth are there to help. They made a difficult time easier. So I do recommend their Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel.

No one ever wants to plan a funeral but to have to plan one for a baby, there are no words to describe the pain and sadness. We Lost our grandson, who was too perfect for earth. I have the upmost respect for everyone that was involved in helping us at the funeral home. It can’t be an easy job but everyone went out of their way to comfort us and to help us in every way possible. They were all so kind and patient as we had to make decisions no one ever wants to have to make.

This process was affected by the Covid-19 restrictions, making certain steps either not possible or greatly limited. Our funeral director, Erick Scheiderman was understanding and comforting as we worked together to make the best of our limited options. And the manager of Sequim View Cemetery, Emily Batton, was so kind and patient as we designed the headstone. I thank them for that, and I will never forget their kindness during that time. The team was responsive, kind, understanding and made this difficult event as manageable as possible. Highly recommend them when this unavoidable part of life is on your doorstep.
