Worked with Julie and Hillary. Both very responsive with paperwork in advance and after. Received death certificates in 1 week by mail. All went smoothly

Empire Mortuary Services is the cheapest cremation service in Ukiah. The only other place is Eversole Mortuary. I used Empire Mortuary Services because my mother was not having a funeral because she requested not to have one. I was dissatisfied with the personal and they actually stopped to get a snack or something on the way to the place with my mother’s body. I arrived first and they were not there. They made many mistakes and misspelling in the death certificate which I was not able to get corrected. The death certificate would have to be amended and it would have costed me a lot of money and also required a second copy attacked to a first copy. The people in this office are illiterate or just too lazy to run a spell check. I found mistakes in the spelling my grandmother’s name and so many more errors. This kind of error will forever be attached to Ancestry Records on Ancestry Dot Com. After such an appalling job, I discovered they are part of a larger chain of corporate funeral homes. They are not a local business. This is why they hired minimum wage staff who have no basic education. But the ultimate insult was they had a head hunter calling me for months but never leaving a message. I got sick of them calling and when I picked the number it turned out to be Empire trying to sell me a prepared death plan. My mother had already fallen for a prepared death scam. If you buy a prepared death plan and you move out of the area, you can’t use the plan and you lose all the money. I told them I was on to the scam and I would NOT be buying a prepaid plan. If I die in Ukiah, I am treating myself to Eversole’s. Never buy a prepaid death package unless you have literally less then a year to live because the chances of it become invalidated or forgotten and not used are so large that they company makes a lot of their money selling prepaid plans. That is why they push these plans so hard. It give them free money. I am not sure which company owns Empire, but I suspect it’s the Neptune Society. Updated: I would like to add a reply to the reply. I can not confirm they stopped to get snacks, but I left after them and I arrived first. I waited at least 20 mins for them to arrive. I hope this person can tell I was joking, but what was the delay for? I would like an answer. I did not ask for the death certificate to be updated because that would make a two page amended death certificate. Death Certificate cost at least 25 dollars each and it would two page making it 50 dollars more for each copy. Plus it can never be fixed, it can only be amended which is not the same as fixed. My mother had a prepaid death plan from the same company in the South Bay and I could not use it and I had to therefore pay twice. If you move from the place they will not honor it if you die anywhere else. Do you image I would have paid twice if I could have used the first policy? B. J. Elkin was hired scattering ashes and he just threw the ashes away. Please research this online. Google his B. J. Elkin name with the Neptune Society. If this company is not owned by Neptune Society I apologize, but you see they go to great lengths to hide real owners and make these McDonald's Funereal homes look independent, when they are really owned by the Neptune Society and Eversole is Independent. The high pressure phone calls from Cloverdale made me suspect it was the Hustle of the Prepaid Scam and that was very offensive for them to suggest such a thing to me after all I had been through.

Empire Mortuary cared for my great aunt when she died last year. She was promptly and lovingly collected from the care facility she had been residing at, and Gloriann and Hillary were incredibly instrumental in helping me with her insurance policy. Their attention to detail was great, but what impressed me most was their kindness and the way they empowered me to grieve for and care for my aunt the way that was most meaningful to our family. I felt sincerely supported and that my aunt was genuinely cared for, and that is everything in a time like this.

I spoke with a gentleman named Chris who helped my niece with arrangements for her infant son. The kindness and compassion this man showed her was overwhelming. He was wonderful at this incredibly difficult time. I have been to many services and dealt with many funeral homes over the years, Empire and Chris went above and beyond what is expected. I would highly recommend Chris at Empire to help you with your loved ones.

Empire Mortuary Services made dealing with the death of our loved one much easier. They even went the extra mile for us when circumstances created unexpected issues. They dealt with them for us so we could grieve without dealing with more. Empire Mortuary Services helped make our grief a bit more bearable and showed ultimate respect and understanding. Thank you!!
