We very recently lost our dear Mother to cancer and quickly had to make a decision for her memorial. We contacted Sands and spoke with Funeral Director Laura and cannot speak highly enough of her ability to explain the options to us, walking us through every detail. We also needed to stream the service (due to COVID restrictions) online and Laura explained their experience doing it (they had some) which gave us some relief. Other funeral homes in town that we contacted either had not done any (really??) or had only once or twice, leaving us feeling that would not be a good option. So, not only was Laura fantastic helping us in every step of the way (there are a litany of decisions to make when a loved one passes) but their location was beautiful (overlooking the harbour). We are beyond grief-stricken with our amazing Mom passing but at least we had Laura and the Sands team to help us through. Thanks again Sands.

With the recent loss of our beloved brother, we were filled with grief and had no idea what to do. One call to Sands Nanaimo was all it took. The arranger is an amazing soul who guided me through the process, provided options and information in a gentle and supportive manner. Afterward, I had so many people thank me for a heartfelt service and really - it was all thanks to Jess...she was amazing and I wish everyone could have her work with them at these tough times we face. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the staff and wonderful people at Sands Nanaimo and especially to Jess.

I went to a viewing today for my niece and was so saddened to see her not cleaned up and her makeup was very dark, which lent to her not looking like my niece. I would not send anybody to them. I want a funeral home that cares about the job they are doing. Shame on them for a really poor job. My neice and her family deserved better.
