Our family chose Harry J. Will Livonia location, because it was close to the cemetery where my mother was going to be buried. It was an excellent decision, the staff met every need (needs we weren’t even aware of). Cheyenne Fratrick, Resident Funeral Director offered her utmost professionalism, compassion and paid attention to every single detail. She was available at all times during our entire experience, which we found extremely impressive & comforting. We were under the impression that an independent family owned funeral home was was typically less expensive and much more personal than a larger one. We found just the opposite to be true. The hairdresser/make-up artist was amazing as well, she’s worked for them for over 20 years at all locations. Our mother looked beautiful and at peace. A cherished last memory of her. I cannot in good conscience recommend this funeral home.The building is nice, but the staff has lost their empathy. Empathy and attention to detail are JOB REQUIREMENTS for a funeral director. The make up on the deceased was awful, even though pictures were provided, and it had to be redone. Things happened associated with the mourners being outdoors that the funeral home was unprepared for. Communication was awful and Covid-19 seemed to be the excuse of the day. This is not their first "covid-19" funeral and the wrinkles should have been anticipated and planned for before they even had the first Covid funeral much less worked out on the fly with excuses made. We were not told we had to remove the flowers after the viewing until after the viewing. Everyone had left at that point. At the cemetery, no one knew to stay in the cars upon arrival because no one told us the body was being transferred to a cemetery van. This resulted in funeral directors yelling "stay in your cars" or "get back in your cars" like cops. No one told us they had to transfer the casket in the street to a concrete vault and that it would be swinging from chains on the bucket of a backhoe and put in the grave. No one told us they had to COMPLETELY bury the body BEFORE the graveside service could take place. The graveside service is to be conducted at an OPEN GRAVE and the funeral director didn't think that was important info to share in advance? He was prompt to blame Covid though. My wife could not even watch this debacle and it will be her last memories of the deceased. We left. Our funeral director was Matthew JaeMin Rak and his attitude was lackadaisical and disrespectful. Everything was Covid's fault. I would cremate someone before placing their body in his care.

Life after death is something something less spoken of & can be more than overwhelming if dealt with by yourself . Harry J Will Funeral Home's Staff was more than all knowing with any/all situations that could possibly happen . From the Respectful Team who picked up and delivered my Mom from where she passed to the funeral, to making sure every fine detail was included within the Service . I cannot thank everyone enough to the Staff and my Rep Amy . But to everyone who makes everything possible . When she passed Harry J. made her last days all about her . I highly recommend to always pre plan but if you have a doubt, Harry J. will be able to take care of any concern possible . Great place. Unfortunately we have use this company 3 times in the last 10 yrs. From my 11yr old son to the most recent my mother in law. Every situation was different and handle in A very professional matter. With my mother in law I was not involved with the business part. My wife at the time only wanted my shoulder thru this difficult time. But what I do know is every day my wife came home from the funeral home she was in good spirits. Thanks to Tim we were in good hands from start to finish.

My friend highly recommended HJW when my Mother passed in July. From start to finish they made the funeral process as easy and seamless as possible. Their attention to detail, and customer service allowed my family to focus on saying goodbye. The downstairs suites for the family was amazing for entertaining my nieces and nephews, and they provided us with picture boards, display easles etc. I HIGHLY recommend them - you will not be disappointed.

Unfortunately we had to have a funeral for our 20 yr old son which was just terrible. However Harry J Will funeral home made our experience the best it ever could possibly be. Cheyenne took such great care of us gently guiding us with such compassion and kindness that we will forever be grateful to her. She made herself easily available before, during and after the funeral. She also took care of donating my sons hair after the funeral to maggies wigs for kids since my son was already in the process of growing it out to donate it. The rest of the staff was also very gracious with us and our guests. Under the stressful and sad conditions we were under thus funeral home provided us with the care. Kindness and respect that everyone deserves when burying a loved one.

My grandmothers experience in 2003 with my grandfather was exceptional. Apparently, 16 years later and customer service is null and void, but the expectation of high price is the upper hand. After being called “Gloria” several times, which is not my name, and correcting the many employees, several times, I received a text today, to Gloria. During the service the music would not play, we requested to have the flowers sent to hospice, they were still there three days later, we had to contact the insurance company ourselves to make sure they would be paid, we were given another families invoice with our thank you cards... the list goes on. Rude responses from the staff. When you are already mourning the loss of a loved one and you are paying about $10k+ for an outline of services, you expect things to be taken care of, especially when this is supposed to be their expertise. Go somewhere else if you can. - aka “Gloria”

Her Services were dignified. In a world of uncertain times with the Pandemic they made sure my family who attended complied with Covid restrictions to ensure the health and safety of everyone. Although our meeting met with deep sadness I know my Mother felt their compassion and support for me and my family. Absolutely perfect experience from the moment I call on Sunday afternoon and continuing weeks after. Kim the FD handled all with so much attention to details. She even coordinated with the cemetery. When we arrived there they had all the information. The facility was perfect for all of our guests both days. Having the luncheon in the banquet room in the lower level was most convenient and the food was good outstanding. Many of our guests commented on that. This was our fifth personal experience there in thirty years and it’s always been the best. Thank you Kevin and your outstanding staff for caring for our family in our time of need.

Our recent experience with the Harry J Will Funeral Home in Livonia, Michigan was excellent! We have attended several funerals at this location and attended other funerals at other locations. The facility is State of the Art compared to other facilities. In addition, the location is just off an expressway, which is convenient for funeral attendees. Our funeral director and his staff gave a professional presentation to our family, who have never had to make these arrangements before. My mother recently passed and there are currently huge restrictions on funeral homes because of the pandemic. Despite all these restrictions the staff managed to remain very professional, never pushy, and worked around each and every one of our needs.
