When my father passed we called Alternatives Funeral and cremation. They answered all our questions and were very clear on the cost to have my father cremated. There were no surprises. My family found the staff to be friendly, compassionate and empathetic. When we had to call back a few weeks later, because we didn’t understand some paper work, they were more than happy to help and answer our questions. They were there for us during a difficult time and we found them to be very affordable, which can be a big strain on families when a loved one passes. Their kindness & support in regards to our needs was appreciated. our family will be calling on them again, but hopefully not for a long time. Stay safe and thank you for doing a great job!

Dealing with Bridget through alternatives was a complete shock to me and my brother. She was very nice when we met with her, but over the phone is a completely different story. God forbid you cry on the phone, because she cant handle it and she gets mad and yells at you for showing any emotion. She did it to me and she did it to my brother. And then lies to the ppl who are there to support you. She makes you look like a fool when all you wanna do is get things figured out so you can grieve. She made this experience so much harder on my family than it needed to be, and it's something I'll never forget. I do not ever recommend this place to anyone, ever. Bridget would make a better security guard at a womans prison. That's her job calling, not a funeral home. Sorry but not sorry.

My wifes mother passed away in Dec from a long illness we had everything planned as she wanted to stay home to the end. Kim and the boys were great Kim was really caring and when the gentleman came to the house they were so kind and gentle with her and so patient with the family. Afterwards when we had to set up arrangements, Kim was so patient and understanding with us, as she explained everything. We were a little worried after watching the marketplace story on funeral homes, but had nothing to worry about no upselling, no high pressure sales, just a nice relaxed talk about what we wanted. will definitely recommend Alternative Funeral to anybody. PS also really smells nice in their office.

I don't normally write reviews, but after reading these many unfair reviews, I feel I had to speak up. Alternative was a pleasure to deal with and I will be using them again in the future. Their pricing was fair, honest and no hidden costs. The service received was above and beyond. We have used some bigger chain funeral services before, and after using Alternative, going elsewhere would only be a downgrade. I asked about the Carbon Levy charges, as I read these Google reviews. They explained to me, that as with ALL businesses, they all charge this levy. And as far as the accounting error, not only did they admit the error & apologize for said error, but they also refunded every person in full. They ate up the carbon levy on those services as well. I am absolutely disgusted with how hateful some of these reviews are. And from what I have been reading, some of these reviews are from people who didn't even use their services. Do not let these negative reviews deter you. They are amazing to deal with, and VERY professional.
