During one of the most painful experiences I have ever had to endure Kyle and his staff were kind, compassionate and caring from beginning to end. Kyle the owner answered his cell phone after hours and immediately helped me to understand what my options were. Michelle, the funeral director was amazing. You can tell that this isn't just a job for her but a passion to help people in their time of need. This experience has shown me the importance of dealing with a privately owned funeral home rather than dealing with a corporately owned organization who has a list of rules and price charts that must be followed. Mom passed and Paul and Kyle of Lakeside were amazing. Compassionate, efficient, and worked hard to make sure my mother's body had the dignity and grace befitting her. Everything was explained clearly, they handled the death certificate and transport. The facility is just lovely. It felt...cozy. Like someone's home. We were able to view her cremation thru a observation window which I understand it new to this facility. Again, the respect and dignity they gave to mom was amazing. It's hard to imagine writing a review on a funeral home, which is probably why I waited almost 11 months to do so. I was reminded today, why I wanted to write one for Lakeside Funeral Home when I went to speak to Kyle about my daughter's ashes. As soon as I walked in the door, as when I did 11 months ago for the first time in my life, I was greeted with the utmost respect, warmth...and yes love. When we had to make decisions last September for Caitlyn's arrangements, we knew nothing of planning a funeral. Sure we had attended funerals for friends and parents, however never for our own child. The care, genuine concern and compassion from Kyle, Gary, Wilma and Paul were unprecedented throughout the whole ordeal. Our family and friends were shown the same compassionate and caring attitude. There was nothing they were not willing to do on our behalf to make sure we were comfortable. We were nurtured through the whole process from start to finish. They brought the utmost dignity to my daughter as we laid her to rest and they guided us with grace through the greatest trial of our lives. I told Kyle today that Lakeside Funeral Home was the best experience I could have ever hoped for during the worst experience of my life.

I recently had to travel to Georgia because my father was very sick & dying from cancer. After many days of being by his side & saying good-bye, it was time to give him the most honorable tribute we could imagine. My dad was a Vietnam Vet, a Mason, a Shriner, an amazing father & so much more. Everyone at Lakeside Funeral Home was extremely helpful, respectful, compassionate, & the location was stunning. They made a very difficult process much less strenuous & gave us the comfort in knowing that every detail was being taken care of in a most caring, beautiful way. I can't think of a better way to honor their hard work other than to share my experience on here with whomever might read this. For anyone else going through a similar experience, I am so very sorry for your loss. It's never an easy time. This is the third time we've been to this funeral home for a visitation/funeral. The staff treats you better than family and is there to wait on you for your every need. They couldn't treat you any better if you were royalty. They really take the time to take care of your loved ones and treat everyone with the utmost dignity and respect. What a blessing to those who are mourning and grieving a loss to have someone care so much and be committed and devoted to not just "doing their job," but providing a necessary service with such heartfelt sympathy.

I don't know how this place is still in business. The shady dealings that go on behind closed doors at this establishment are appalling! I attend First Baptist Church of Woodstock and have personally heard the owner brag about having this church wrapped around his finger for referrals. I was attending a funeral and overheard this when I was looking for the restroom. I know the owner, saw my face and I did not want to make a scene but I have had this on my heart and feel coming here and to people I know is all I can do. If they even read this I would like to say this too. Quit bragging about giving away free funerals, its not charity if you tell everyone.

While our pain and heartbreak was still very fresh, we met with family members at Lakeside Funeral Home to discuss details with Paige Ogle & Kyle Standridge. We have each had losses in our lives but no one really has a book of how to handle such an unexpected and tragic loss of someone so young that was such a presence in so many lives. From the start, the compassion we received from Paige, as she asked the necessary questions and explained what would occur for us over the next couple of days, helped us focus on what needed to be done and set my mind at ease that things were being cared for in the utmost manner of honor and respect. I will never forget the generosity of their time during this heartbreaking event. I could contact Paige and she would readily answer calls or texts at any time of day. Kyle was ever-present for any thing we asked about or for. Who wants to say the words "I know a great place you can use" when someone asks about a funeral home? Nobody. But when I do get asked, Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock Georgia is going to be the name I give to bereaved family or a friend, knowing they will be treated with the same professionalism and support that we received.

Two months ago we lost our 37 year old son Nichalas. This isn't supposed to happen. He has four little children. Young people don't plan for this! Decisions are hard to make but Kyle guided us through the whole process. Kyle treated Nichalas like his brother. Paige was there for every need as was Kyle. They truly treated us like family! I DO NOT KNOW how we would have gotten through this without them! And to spend the night with our son and talk to him was very healing. Grieving is a long process and Kyle and Paige are still with us. And I also thank the people that are there helping and you don't know it! I just can't say enough!! Bless you all!

Paige is terrific- patient, understanding and she does everything possible for our grieving family to make our father’s passing “more better”. I am so glad to have made her acquaintance! Besides her sincere caring about our feelings and needs, this lovely Woodstock, GA, location is convenient and gorgeous. All persons we met who are part of Lakeside Funeral Home are caring and help to calm our family as we grieve. Sudden death is shocking, and we were helped to feel better by getting to know all of these folks. They have all post-death needs- obituaries, cremation or burial, and any service you prefer- personalized to our greatly missed father/ husband. Veteran funerals are offered, too. Great for us, now while we are forced to stay home, they have a Legacy memorial site on line so family and friends are able to continue to see our obituary, and to register the memories about our dad even though our services will be in the future. The obituary remains there for years, so all persons can access it as they want to. They helped us place our newspaper memorial, too. This is a superior group of people providing wonderful service to our grieving family! Thank you, Paige and Lakeside. We will have our celebration of dad’s life, just as soon as we all can be there together to celebrate this wonderful man.

We lost our precious son suddenly on Nov. 30, 2013, one day short of his 25th birthday. We were broken & could barely function. We knew Lakeside was very close to our home & at first we hesitated, concerned about how we would feel passing by each time we left our home. My husband called another funeral home in the area then finally decided to make the call to Lakeside. After speaking with Kyle my husband knew we needed to make Lakeside our first visit. Kyle greeted us warmly, there was an instant connection, as Kyle continued to speak to us all of our hesitations of being too close to our home were erased from our minds. The loving kindness that we were shown by Kyle, his family and staff was truly exceptional, genuine and sincere. Paul took great care to guide us through all the steps and explained to us clearly what our options were, at NO time did we ever feel like we were being pressured, amazingly just the opposite. My husband and I were very much on the same page of what our desires were so everything went very smoothly. Another major consideration for us was we had decided that we wanted to have our son cremated,.and Lakeside also offers this service. We felt very strongly that our son had been through enough and we did not want his body transported to an outside facility to have this done. Kyle assured us that the utmost respect would be given to our son during the entire process. This has been the most difficult time in our life and we truly feel blessed that we made the choice to use Lakeside Funeral Home.
