I thought I was doing the right thing by pre planning arrangements. WRONG! I was mislead and Rachelle Nevills, who managed to get $1500 from me. We never finished arrangements but she turned in the papers and here I am now with a "Program" worth $700 at time of death. Rachelle, I hope you enjoy that $800 that I can never use or get refund!!! On behalf of Carroway Funeral Home, the review from Tammy Hanna is inaccurate and misleading. The funeral home and staff does not operate in an unethical manner and always does what's in the best interest for our families. A prearrangement written by a funeral home is a contract for services or merchandise through an insurance company. The funeral home is the selling agent, therefore the insurance company will obtain all monetary amounts paid towards the contract until time of death. I personally do not have access to the funds at any time. Only at time of death can the funeral home receive funds in exchange of honoring the loved ones wishes on services and merchandise. When a person has made arrangements and selected the services and merchandise they desire they will sign a contract, pay the down payment and agree to pay the monthly premiums for the years agreed on until the full amount is paid in full. When you do not pay the premium as was done for two years not written in the comment, the insurance company has the right to cancel your contract and obtain partial funds as stated in the purchasers agreement. Prearrangement specialists are only the selling agent and the contract is an agreement between the purchaser and the insurance company in which the purchaser broke contract. The funeral home has done nothing wrong nor have myself.
