I have used Aspen Mortuaries three times over the past 10 years for cremation services for family members. I had good experiences with them each time. They were friendly, helpful and caring while also dealing with the many facets of planning and carrying out the business aspects that have to take place. It's a tough time to be asked to make so many decisions, and it was made easier by the kind attention we received.

Had my Brothers memorial service here. The staff was very helpful and courteous. They have a nice chapel and parking is spacious. Handicapped accessible entrances as well. Did photo memorial on DVD and it worked without any problems. They did a very nice job creating a lasting memory for our family.

My mother was cremated in Aspen Mortuary at the Lakewood location almost 3 years ago. It was extremely disheartening to find out that I was going to be charged $15/urn to transfer ashes from one large urn to four 3 tbs. sized urns. If I was comfortable doing this on my own I would but it's kind of a sensitive issue dealing with human ashes. I made a call to Horan and McConaty. A funeral home that has zero connection with my mom and was told they will transfer the ashes for me at no charge. And there should never be a charge for something like this. It's unfortunate that I feel Aspen Mortuary was trying to make a few extra bucks on something so sensitive.
