OMG, Randy Smith and the rest of the staff at Edwards Van Alma are excellent. Looking at Gerald at his funeral, he didn't look like there had ever had any thing wrong with him. His color was excellent. Everything went off like clock work. Everything they told me that would be done and when it would be done was exactly that. I have since preplanned my funeral at Edwards Van-Alma. I was so surprised at the benefits that come in some of the packages. It was the smartest thing I have done in years.

I was very touched and reassured by the call I received from Brandy McKinney telling me she was available for questions and assistance. I actually did call her about four more times that day. When we came in to make arrangements she seemed to anticipate every question and concern we had. My daughters commented later how comforted they felt by Brandy. We were treated with amazing courtesy and kindness by every employee. Each and every detail was addressed and taken care of. I cannot find the words to express ample praise for the way our services were handled.

Our family member was cremated. They grudgingly agreed to give the family one hour for a viewing. No casket was purchased. They placed her body on a table in a small room, a hand-written sign on the door said: "Limit of two visitors at a time." She was covered with a blanket, no pillow. They had neither washed her face nor combed her hair. All visitors were behaving appropriately, but after thirty minutes we were TOLD to leave. They said, "We have another family coming in." We were not treated compassionately, we were treated with contempt. After this experience, I would never let them care for another of my family members. Apparently, compassion has a price tag.

This kind of thing could be depressing but this was not that kind of experience if you think about it you really don’t want your family to deal with arrangements so this is the best way and you have the type of funeral and burial the way you want it.

We got a letter from them in the mail about a simanor about planning final arrangements . We set up a time to meet with them and they walked us through the steps . That meeting took an hour and by the end of the hour we had our arrangements made and paid our 1sr payment .
