The passing of a loved one is always an extremely difficult experience. Considerate helped us through a very painful and stressful time. Upon our first meeting we were greeted by Holly who is a very warm, kind and understanding person. I only met Bruce briefly and found him very soft spoken and kind. Planning a funeral or cremation is never an easy task especially as your loved one is dying right before your eyes. This was our case a month ago when we had to plan my father's (Bob Nadeau) cremation. From the initial phone call with Considerate Cremation Bruce was helpful, upfront and respectful in helping us get pricing and information. We had additional questions and Bruce was willing to meet us at home as my father was dying at home and we didn't want to miss any moments with him. He answered our questions and provided us with exactly what we wanted with no feeling of pressure sales or up-selling. We really appreciated this. After my father's passing, Considerate Cremation made the next steps easier on us by taking care of everything and we were able to grieve. Considerate Cremations facilities are very nice and feels like a home rather than a funeral home. The immediate family was able to say our goodbyes and we are so grateful to Bruce and his team. This is one of the hardest things that a family will go through and Considerate Cremation helped us along the way.

My mom and I were introduced to Bruce a few years back when her illness began. She barely made it into the building. He was kind and considerate very professional and so compassionate. I also met Holly at the same time. I also signed up at the same time just to feel safe. So here we are 2 years later Bruce receives a call on a Tuesday at 130 pm within an hour or less his staff came to my mothers nursing home to pick her up. She had passed away after 1.5 years of a long illness. The 2 men that came to collect her were so caring and waited until the family in the room were ready to let her go. I have never experienced such kindness before I didn't want them to wait forever but they were ok with it. When I arrived at the Considerate Cremation it was an easy transaction. Everything was as we had set up 2 years ago. Very welcoming Bruce was very calming and compassionate. On the day of the burial the experience was beautitul. It ran smoothly we had more people then we expected. Bruce was wonderful again and patient. I apologized for the amount of people in the building he was caring . We had arranged to use the small room to visit we all took our turn. Then we left and followed Bruce to the burial sight. Again Bruce was so patient with so many people. He offered to say a few words on our behalf at the gravesite, then we joined in. I want to thank Bruce and also Holly for the wonderful experience! My mother would of been very happy! My 2 sisters and I found ourselves experiencing the most devastating heartbreak when we lost our dad suddenly in June in the midst of a pandemic. In my mind, losing a parent is a game changer. Our dad didn't have any funeral arrangements made but we knew his wishes were to be cremated. I had driven by Considerate Cremation & Burial on many occasions and we decided to call them right from the hospital room on a Sunday morning (knowing that time was of the essence). Bruce answered our call and thru tears I told him we had lost our dad. He immediately offered his sincerest condolences and listened to me patiently as I told him how lost we felt. He was professional and kind and reassuring. He asked for a few details and then explained that he could assist with caring for our dad's final wishes. He made everything so simple and easy. We met with Bruce at their very clean and comforting facility the next morning (safely social distancing) and Bruce helped us thru the process explaining everything while constantly reassuring us. I was so very impressed how he asked us so many details of the kind of person our dad was (what type of work he did, what he was passionate about and allowed us to tell our story). We felt he really understood the kind of man our dad was and what he meant to us and how much we were hurting. There was absolutely NO PRESSURE on the selections we made or and no UP-SELLING as I have heard of so many friends tell me they experienced at the big funeral home chains. There were prices on everything we looked at and I was pleased that most of the things we chose were MADE IN CANADA. Considerate Cremation & Burial allowed us to have a small visitation (viewing) and it was an uplifting experience for our family. During the entire process Bruce and Holly were always available for us when we called. Theyhandled all the details of the task at hand following the death of a loved one and paper work and notices to the government, etc. Even fraud protection against the identity of our loved one. I cannot tell you how much we appreciated the services of Bruce & Holly in providing the most incredible experience during the most difficult time we have faced. Truly genuine people who put the care of your loved one before the almighty dollar and go above and beyond to help care not only for the deceased but the family members too. Their fees are very fair and they offer many options and services. They took the stress away from our family so we could grieve the loss of our dad and for that we are incredibly grateful!

He took me through every step and beyond. Everything was efficient and completed in good time. When a loved one passes away, it is so awful, but Bruce helped make things easier.

There are so many things Bruce and staff did to honour Ralph's life and interests from the moment they became involved until the day he was laid to rest. Following the funeral Bruce assisted us in preparing all the paperwork and completing all the necessary documents required. We would definitely rate them 5+++.

Our experience with Considerate Cremation has been a very good one. Their name is very appropriate. Mom and I met with Bruce in the summer of 2020 to make pre-arrangements for herself and my dad. He was very helpful and explained everything fully and made sure that we understood the whole process. We received the paperwork in short order. When dad passed away this spring, Bruce met with us on later that day to go over everything and make sure that all would be taken care of. He was extremely helpful with suggestions for when to publish the obituary and made sure that the changes we needed to make were done in a timely fashion. He even edited the picture so dad's oxygen line wouldn't show. He has been most helpful and responds quickly to any questions by email or by phone. He helped us out with our request for funeral cards and had them ready quite soon and then when we needed more for mom's to include in her Christmas card, he had them ready the next day. We are very happy that we chose Considerate. They have made a difficult time so much easier. I don't usually give a five star review unless someone has gone above and beyond. I feel they have exceeded our expectations and deserve 6 stars!

My brother passed away quite suddenly in May of 2018. I live out of town and was unfamiliar with St. Catharines funeral services, but based on on-line reviews and information from their website, I chose Considerate. I was so blessed to have found them. Bruce and Holly are so very kind and compassionate. Our first meeting with Bruce was easy and comfortable, with no sales pressure whatsoever. On the evening of my wife’s passing I found myself some what unprepared for all the necessary tasks that needed doing. For what ever reason I had not prepared ahead of time although I was aware of the inevitable and even the time frame. I didn’t know who to call or what services I wanted or needed. I suppose I put this off hoping for a different outcome. Now I was faced with the necessary task that needed to get done. Cremation was her request and also in her will so we had that instruction to go by. That night I asked the nurse practitioner who did the pronouncing and initial paperwork who in St Catharines handles cremations. She said they don’t give recommendations but mentioned a number of firms and one was Considerate Cremation & Burial Services. We called them first and from the start we realized we didn’t have to make anymore inquiries. From the moment that they answered the call to the people they sent to transfer my wife they were all very professional and sympathetic to the situation. They were not rushed and were extremely considerate as we had very young children and a pet, all of which didn’t understand what was going on. The next day we were contacted on a convenient time to meet and go over the details. My daughter and I were greeted by Bruce McClelland who was so helpful and considerate even accommodated a viewing which I’d requested without hesitation. The reminder of the visit was going over the details, what our expectations were and what services they provided to accommodate those expectations. The reality of price was discussed item by item, upfront and very straight forward leaving me quite comfortable. I was very thankful for Bruce’s professionalism and transparency. There was no pressure sales or upselling on his part which I was very thankful for. He went over ever detail point by point until and we were satisfied. Bruce set up a web page for condolences and he worked with my daughter to make sure the photos and wording was just right for the site. After a few days and the cremation was completed I was asked to come by for the AfterCare appointment. I was surprised at being presented with a detailed point by point agenda of all the items that need to be completed. From forms for the government to dealing with credit cards, utility companies etc. each item Bruce explained thoroughly. What items had been done, by CCBS, and what needed to be done by me. They had already contacted the government on our behalf to informed them of our loved ones passing which greatly reduces the chance of identity theft; something I must admit I didn’t have cross my mind. The kit detailed all items and what was need to complete each one. It took a while but I came away with so much information and I can’t begin to say how much this made the whole process easier to handle. There is a mountain of work to do when a loved one passes on, more than I first realized. CCBS could not take away the pain and sadness but they made the necessary chores of the living much more tolerable. It is nice to know that a company like Considerate Cremation & Burial Services exists to help get through these very painful times and people like Bruce who make this sad time less stressful. I hope I’m spared the need to do this again but if not I would not hesitate to call on Bruce and his team to help out and would not hesitate to recommend them as well. Martin Ashbee
