I was so thankful to have been referred to Anora Cremation, Burial, and Events. After my 30 year old son negligently passed away at Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Port Coquitlam, BC, I was a mess! I live on the island, and there were covid restrictions to make matters worse. I couldn't be there to view him, or ensure the autopsy was completed so Laurie was a Godsend! She gave me the comfort that I really needed and I couldn't have made it through without her. I highly recommend Anora Cremation, Burial, and Events, Laurie, and her staff.

Laurie is amazing. She helped us when we did not know what to do. She even followed up with us after to make sure we had support and answered the many questions that we ended up needing answers to. I cannot find words to express the appreciation I have for the care, and professionalism extended to me at the worst time in my life. I lost my husband, and was in shock, but Laurie was right there to guide me through. There was no pressure, just compassion and understanding when I needed it most. Laurie recently organized the most beautiful celebration of life for my father in law. She took care of everything (catering, flowers, slide show, covid screening, guest list, facility, etc) and took all the stress of organizing off our family's plate. She was patient and so professional. She also provided the most wonderful emcee / celebrant (Godwyn) who made the event a true celebration of his life rather than somber and drab. Godwyn is so gifted and really captured the essence of my father in law. I highly recommend using Godwyn's services as it freed up our family to enjoy the event and spend time with loved ones. In the midst of a very challenging time for a family, it is very important to have someone experienced, considerate and competent helping to organize a final farewell for a family member. Laurie was this and so much more. While things were not traditional in any way during the time of restricted gatherings and social distancing in BC, Laurie still assisted our family in facilitating a beautiful send off for my Father. In some ways, the virtual event was the best case scenario to involve people as many of his friends and family members hail from different parts of the world. Because of the service being facilitated in this way, everyone who wanted to be involved was able to be which may not have been possible in a traditional service. Laurie was available to me for questions and helped me understand the timeline and process. She was also very helpful with suggestions and professional judgement in the planning process and went the extra mile on several occasions. I would happily recommend her services to anyone who is planning a final farewell.
