REVIEWS OF Watson's Funeral Home IN Chatham-Kent

Forever Loved

My husband RobinHood Allen could not have chosen a better group of professionals to guide me through the process of handling his pre-arranged and prepaid memorial services as only he could do; always taking care of everyone else, still. Halle Watson-Gordon is such a professional, empathetic, engaging, concerned and very informative. She took her time, was extremely patient, explained options and processes and answered all of our questions and obviously loves what she does helping people in this transitioning period. Contact Watson's by preplanning and taking care of your arrangements before the time is needed, relieve your family of that burden and give them more time and energy to focus on healing and remembrance. It will be one of the best decisions you've ever made. Respectfully written, Mrs. Carol S. Allen, Cleveland Hts., OH

Watson's funeral home has serviced three of my family members. The staff is kind, compassionate, and professional. They are competitively priced to other funeral facilities and are willing to work with you, as the family. I highly recommend them!❤

My grandmother's funeral was held here last week. I visited the funeral home for the private family viewing on Monday, the public viewing on Tuesday and the funeral on Wednesday. Temperatures were in the 90s and the air conditioning was not working. During the funeral, water had to be passed out, and fans were placed in the room, however, it was still unbearably hot and uncomfortable. My uncle had to be taken out during the service for air and everyone was concerned for one of the gentleman attending who was 103 years old. I heard one of the employees telling someone that the air had just gone out that morning, but being that I had been there 2 days prior, I knew that to be untrue. It was also hot on Tuesday and we were told that the air was being fixed. The program had typos even after 2 proof readings. We were also told twice that the embalmer would fix something we were unhappy with on the body and it never happened. We were also told that a photo montage would play during the public viewing, and that didn't happen. My biggest complaint is the air conditioning. It's unacceptable for a funeral home to be hot and uncomfortable for days. The limo drivers were very nice and attentive.

Watson's Funeral was a blessing to our family in the planning of my father's funeral. All the staff was responsive and kind through-out the entire process. They walked us through all the details. Since we were out of state, we had to plan the services virtually. Watson made this convenient. Highly recommend Watson Funeral Home, a trusted community asset.

My funeral was done by Watson's a few weeks ago. I heard everybody standing over my body complimenting how great I looked and how natural I looked. Now of course I couldn't respond but I was still super pleased. Cory and the rest of the team took great care of my family as well and I did review the obituary and they did great. Watson's rocks.

I never seen a funeral home ran like this, as soon as the funeral was over they hardly gave the family to say a final goodbye or viewing. They took the body out and replaced it with another in a matter of mins.

Watson's Funeral Home did not make an already tragic loss any easier. My father chose to use Watson's for my brother's arrangements, as his own father's arrangements were incredibly well handled by this business. Unfortunately, those were the days of the past. The receptionists are completely incompetent and misinformed; they provided wrong info about my brother's body + when it would be available to be worked on/seen (we also had to wait over 45 minutes to see him once he was avail for viewing), I had to repeat simple questions more than once, and they took 3 attempts to calculate the correct balance due, even though I calculated it (correctly!) right before their eyes. Additionally, the memorial DVD my family paid for had repeat pictures and was nothing like I requested, the funeral attendant LEFT several family members behind when headed to the cemetery, and Watson's failed to provide initial updates about the death certificate being ready. And above all that, during our time of immense sorrow, the empathy from the staff was completely lacking. Watson's gets one star b/c my brother looked amazing. However, this business really needs to reconsider who they hire, the way they handle things, and how they treat those in mourning.

My mother had a unexpected death and our family was distraught! Everyone had so many opinions on how they wanted her dressed on down to the obituary! The staff was very patient, understanding and caring with us. They helped us with the arrangements and the process went so smooth and stress free, all we needed to worry about was our attire. Your love one will be cared for properly, I can't thank them enough they did a excellent job on her.

Probably the best you could ask for in dealing with a rough situation. Watson's was very caring and sensitive and made the entire process simple and easy to understand. I hope that you don't need a funeral home but if you do this is a great place.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS FUNERAL HOME if you care about integrity, service, and attention to detail. They care only about large dollars and not people. Even feigned sincerity to a 10 year old after causing her father to be cremated due to their greed and incompetence. Integrity: These people told family that our loved one was too big to fit into a regular sized casket because he had swelled up. I spoke to the Examiner's office and this funeral home DOES NOT HAVE REFRIGERATION if they are claiming additional money was needed due to body swelling. Remains need to be refrigerated to prevent bacteria from growing and causing tissue expansion. WATSON'S FUNERAL HOME COULD HAVE EMBALMED the body post-haste knowing they had no refrigeration rather than demanding more money from family. Service: I ordered jewelry from female bright-skinned Watson and she couldn't get that right. Told me "remember, you said that was too expensive" I never said such a thing because I came there with a credit card with a dollar limit she is likely not used to seeing to buy whatever I wanted. What I wanted was three different pieces of jewelry and she screwed that order up all on her own because she has an elitist attitude and could not be bothered with getting it right. Lack of attention to detail: No one offered to sit down and select an urn for the remains or even to help understand that there is a more dignified way of handling cremation remains other than a plain box. A male Watson did take me into their show room but choice was limited and not viable or very traditional. I got many more choices from a different Black owned funeral home. Watson's has decided that their clientele are broke and subsequently don't deserve all the offerings available or even courteous service. They just kinda hang around waiting for you to need the more expensive services and if not then the final touch is not their concern. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. When Black owned businesses treat Black customers like this it is because they have lost their way. They've become ignorant as they see their clientele. Expect to be talked down to and treated with insolence if you behave in a business like manner because they don't recognize professionalism; not in themselves and certainly not in their clientele. Had it been left up to me I would have turned around at the door because on entrance this place does not compare to other Black owned funeral homes in the area where you have better reception and are given ALL available services. Shame on Watson's for causing a cremation because of they don't have proper facilities. Know this: I am having the cremation ashes tested to know if they are human! I suspect if you told one lie you will tell another.

Before you use this Funeral Home hope you do research, my mother in law passed was picked up by this Funeral Home, and next of Kin was NOT notified, they Embalmed her and ONLY had the $580.00 dollars from the Nursing Home, there is a State Law that they must contact next of kin which would of been her children, THEY contacted no one but started performing services on her with ANY verification of any insurance monies, now we have to retain a Lawyer to sue them for breaking the law, Hallie Watson and Charles Watson Jr are the ones who was spoke with over the phone stating they wanted money for the embalming which was not permitted to happen from next of kin. Take your business elsewhere!

LaRita Harvey

They are very understanding in passionate.
