I was referred to Assman's Funeral Home for the process of my mother's funeral. Eric Skaarup was our funeral director and he truly made this sad time bearable for myself and my family. He has a very positive attitude and will answer any one of your questions no matter how small. He went over paperwork thoroughly, he helped contact the proper people needed to help with the funeral costs, and he kept me in the loop about everything that had been done. I would refer anyone living in Prince George to this Funeral Chapel in their time of need.

They were great, however, I didn't appreciate the survey request asking 'how they did' less then six weeks after my daughter died and 4-5 weeks after cremating her. It was in extremely poor taste and not appreciated in the least. Have some compassion. You just cremated my only daughter, give me time to adjust to a life without her before you start asking how well you did.

Our mom passed unexpectedly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Adding to that complication, we also had to plan most everything from a distance as we don't live in Prince George. Everything was handled with professionalism, and fairly quickly, taking into account the pandemic. The "extras" were explained to us but I did not feel any undue pressure to add any of it on. It was really unfortunate that we couldn't hold a proper funeral service but the team at Assman's did extremely well under the restrictions.

She walked us through every step of the process with such compassion she made my mother feel at ease and comforted. Everything went very smooth Len and I had preplanned and prepaid for what we wanted to be done and had everything setup ahead of time. The staff at the funeral home was very professional and was always there to assist with any questions or concerns. The response time was excellent and the whole experience went very smooth. It really helps when you have everything prepaid and things setup ahead of time. Papers, wills, power of attorney, bank accounts, in place as there is a lot of paperwork to be completed and it you have things in order it will make a big difference. You need a lot of information so know and have birth certificates, marriage licenses, parents full names and birth places as you will need all this information. It is a hard time and it will make things a lot less painful if you have all the information together ahead of time.

Because at the most difficult time of our lives, she was exactly what we needed to get through it.
