The staff at New Haven are prompt to respond to phone calls and emails, they are professional, and overall the best experience I've had having to deal with a funeral arrangements. I was impressed with the layout of information they provided via email that outlined the things to know and prepare for, due dates to submit items, templates, referrals for services, and the list goes on. They are truly working in present times by having a Centre that is tech-savvy, which creates a seamless environment for music, video tributes, and live stream capabilities. My experience at New Haven has opened up the conversation with my family about the importance of funeral pre-planning and without a doubt, we know it will be with New Haven. I was 8mths pregnant when my Mother suddenly passed away, & of course worried I would go into labour & miss my Mother's service. A very good friend recommended New Haven Funeral Centre, which my family & I were deeply grateful for. We visited other funeral homes for comparison & they just didn't stand up to the caliber of New Haven. New Haven doesn't look or feel like other funeral centres, it is bright & airy, open rooms, up-to-date decor, no feeling of death hovering over you. Lots of parking & the outside of the building is very appealing. Shelley Challenger was our contact person & she went above & beyond to address every concern, request, question, mountain of information we didn't even know we needed to think about at a time like this, & helped us put on a memorial service exactly how my Mom would've wanted. Shelley & all of the staff treated us like family & they in turn felt like family to us. With time ticking of my (pregnancy) delivery date, Shelley removed all fears of stress & worry. Even to the point of calling around for a Pastor to lead the service in a Catholic way since we were running out of options due to time. The day of, I forgot to get the lyrics to the songs printed & a YouTube video to play during the service. Within 10mins of me almost in tears as I told Shelley, she had the lyrics all printed AND handed out to all our guests. The reception afterwards was a 'celebration of life', just like my Mom wanted. Food was catered by New Haven & everyone loved it. Once the reception was over, Shelley already had the 'Aftercare' package ready for us; again more info we didn't know we needed to know, all ready for us to sign & mail off to the appropriate gov't offices. a few weeks later & I'm still getting compliments on New Haven from family & friends. I'm thankful to not have to go through this situation often, but if another time comes I'll definitely be putting my trust in Shelley & the rest of New Haven staff again!

I thankfully don't have alot of experience with having to arrange a funeral. I am thankful for the service I received from Newhaven with my mothers funeral. Communication was always clear and prompt. Shelley is very patient and caring. My mom was buried over 2 months after death. I didn't expect visitation to even be possible after so much time, I was shocked how good my mom looked, I know it could not have been easy to keep her looking that good after so long. Newhaven is the only funeral home I would turn to if I ever need such services in the future. It is the only one I would recommend to friends and family and anyone who places a high value on customer service.

My Dad was cremated but before he was cremated I had to identify him, but I can tell you the new haven team made my dad look good before the cremation, his hair was combed nicely and he looked peaceful. Happy to take close to $20,000 for a service and then rush through as if running overtime by 5 or 10 minutes would put them out of business. Did not give a grieving widow and children who just lost their father time to say goodbye before closing the casket and ushering them out. Told the widow that she would have to pick up ashes at the crematorium because "people don't come to collect them and then we have to keep them". Said it is the crematorium's responsibility to call her when its time to pick up the ashes. After waiting for 3 weeks had to call the crematorium to find out why it was taking so long only to be told he has been waiting unclaimed for quite a while, the funeral home was notified, and that it is absolutely the homes responsibility to contact. Sounded like it wasn't the first time this has happened and official complaints have been lodged. Take the money, turn them out asap, and wipe hands of it. Unacceptable, unprofessional, and a complete lack of empathy.

Stay away from this “Funeral Home”. My grandfather passed away and his funeral took place at New Haven. Big mistake on our part. Staff were not punctual, timing was off and a lot of waiting around. When speaking to Minnelle, she was inattentive and distracted by her phone. Staff were unorganized at the cemetery site. We had no guidance in regards to parking. They were so unprofessional and unorganized, making the entire event chaotic. This was not how I imagined the last moments with my grandfather. Overall very bad experience. I’d advise anyone to stay away.

We met the lovely Cassandra who was fantabulous yes FANTABULOUS from the beginning to the end. She made the process very easy for us to follow and helped us through everything we required. Every call and email we sent to her was immediately returned or replied to. When we arrived for the funeral the other staff members were extremely kind and very professional as well to our family and guests. I will definitely be recommending New Haven funeral home if I am asked. This a a very tough type of recommendation to give because of the circumstances but as the bible clearly states it is appointed for man to live and to die. So unfortunately death will happen and New Haven funeral home definitely makes it a lot easier for families to cope during this difficult time. I have been to New Haven before when a friend passed away. Last month we had the sudden passing of my beloved grandmother – and I mentioned New Haven to my family ( as did other friends ) and after visiting a few funeral homes, my family decided on New Haven. I have to say that it was our initial meeting with Shari that pretty much solidified our decision. From the beginning she provided us with white glove service, patience and was very accommodating to requests, treating us as though we were family. Shari was our point of contact and stayed with us until the end of the funeral service. Her team was just as kind, and helpful. We were in good hands. In addition to this, New Haven is visually appealing, and located not too far from the highway. I would recommend New Haven should the time come when you are looking for a funeral home. While I have never personally had to use this service (thankfully), I know without a doubt that when the times comes, New Haven Funeral Centre will be laying my loved ones to rest. No one wants to think about it, but at some point we will all be going somewhere and when I go, I hope it is here. I have attended multiple funerals at this location and when you walk in, it doesn't feel like a funeral centre. You don't have that eerie feeling like in other funeral homes. This place is bright, white, clean and fresh. I actually feel very comfortable when inside of this place. The staff is amazing!!!!! So friendly and open and really took the time to make people visiting feel comfortable. I have a disability and didn't want to take the elevator upstairs alone and they could just sense I needed someone with me and brought me up without me having to ask. A1 service and female led at that. Highly recommended.

Everyone I encountered greeted me with a warm smile. The atmosphere was gorgeous. They went from professional attire during the visitation and funeral. Then put on their aprons during the reception while they served our guests. They do everything!!! The Garcia family truly thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️❤️❤️

A big thank you to Shelley and the rest of the team! We were very pleased with all their services. Very professional, down to earth helpful and caring. We had to organize our mother’s memorial for here and burial for Jamaica. Because I don’t live here and has never done this before, I didn’t know where to start. Shelley was so wonderful! Took every phone call and helped in so many ways. We had a wonderful memorial service at Newhaven, they went above and beyond to accommodate us and made it very special and memorable occasion.
