Overall great experience with Bradley, he worked with us the entire way and we would not have gotten the results unless we had him with us! Thank you again!
Well planned , managed and clean funeral home Greenery is available through out the year Providing good services to humanities I went there so many times . Always found it peaceful, quiet and relaxing place where you can talk and listen your inner self
As a funeral home and cemetery, the staff should have been professional and should not have involved themselves in family drama. But I got the most hateful glances from them and whispers while they avoided me in lieu of other family members. For a professional service dealing with grief and loss, they should have been more considerate irrespective of who was paying their bill. Totally awful experience.
Friendly helpful staff. Knowledgeable and empathetic.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciate to Mr. Mark Young for tremendously helping me with all my burial needs. He even went above and beyond to help me when I encountered a billing issue. He make such an awesome job with my niche decor. I am happy and at peace right now knowing that if ever I die anytime, I know that my burial needs will be taken cared of exactly how I wish it would be.. Thank you so much for such a great service Mr. Mark Young and Valley View Funeral Home & Cemetery.. Highly recommended✔️????????????
after paying a hefty fee for the flower vase attached to the plaque only to have it stolen before my Dad's 1st death anniversary. The management wont replace it unless we pay another 150-300 canadian. Every neighboring plaque where my dad's urn is resting had the vase stole since it is made of metal. This cemetery does not have good security system and wont even reimburse or allow anyone to install a private vase. no compassion at all! $$ off the dead.
Just want to say thanks to Brad for making this process smooth.
our family had first funeral service in canada . we could not have done as best as it went without help from daewook kim . he would comfort and take care of all my family's need before even we ask . all my family feel he did exceptional care for one of our hardest time . thank you !!
The Staff was extremely helpful and professional and the facility in general was amazing with everything they did for our family. Thank you for everything.
Some of our family members have already-purchased burial sites at Valley View and we recently had a funeral there. Mr. Daewook Kim and those who were there to help that day were all great. Living in a multi-cultural city like ours requires someone with sensitivity to different funeral cultures, and having Mr Kim who is sensitive and aware of the needs of different cultures played a key role in bridging our family and Valley View. We were all grateful to him and also to the rest of the team who did an excellent job that day. Thank you.
Nice cemetery popular mainly with Chinese according to tombstone count. Trees just good enough. Pleasant views. Easy to find location.
Surprisingly large and still growing. Peaceful and beautifully decorated with shrines and statues.
My dealings with Valley View have so far just been to find the graves of family members, but the service has been exceptional, by email, on the phone, and in person. Yesterday we made the long trek down from the Yukon to visit my paternal grandparents' graves. Brad Bertholm drove us to the sites in a golf cart and gave us all the time we needed there. On the way to and from the sites, I asked about the many other types of memorials we were passing, and he gave us good basic information for us to think about. The cemetery is beautiful and well maintained, and I'm certainly pleased to see my family memorials there.
Very grateful to Mark Young for his very professional services during a difficult time. In particular, Mark was very helpful preparing for a graveside service. He responded to my numerous questions in a very timely fashion. The service went exactly as planned. Very much appreciated!!
We are grateful for the expertise and compassion from Brad Bertholm. He truly made this experience as seamless as possible. Thank you Brad ????????
Kind professional staff. I’m amazed at all they did to help. They made a very difficult job easy and organized everything for me in a binder prioritizing all I have to do next. Honestly, in all the years I’ve seen people in their caskets ready for their next journey, I’ve never seen someone look so much alive and well like my friend. Great work. Many thanks Svetlana Boot and Eric for all your assistance. You really cared, I could feel it.
The staff member I spoke with was not very compassionate. I did expect a more courteous exchange than what I experienced. I had to call them to see of this was the right Funeral Home because there were no listings for their scheduled services. From what I understand, the families have to pay extra for this.
I recently reached out to Eric Child at Valley View to update my will and confirm my own services. His patience has been very helpful as I try and help other family members do the same
I’m off to Valley View this afternoon to discuss transferring my parents cemetery rights from Burlington Memorial to Valley View – I am a bit concerned as Valley View has informed me that they “can’t” honour the present day value of my parents niche in Burlington to a Memorial Stone in Valley View (also at present day value) as they are not the “identical” type of cremation interment (the Memorial Stone is actually a lower value option). My parents were sold on Arbor Memorial as it is the largest Funeral Services in Canada and that their cemetery rights were transferable – at no time were they every informed that it was conditional and the contract is ambiguous and does not specify that either. I am hoping this is a miscommunication and that Valley View will honour the contract – I will keep you posted!
Attended a service for my friends wife. the place has its stuff together and my friend didn't seem to have any complaints. I only reviewed this place because seemed like people were being overly picky. its a cemetery there isn't much more to be said.
It was our family’s first funeral and burial here in Canada and we have no idea how it would get than here. But Brigitte and Elizabeth from Funeral home and Nathan Zaharik from Cemetery were amazing and did an excellent job helping us through everything. Making sure that the way we’d like to honour our loved one would meet our expectations. We had seen how they treat our loved one with so much respect. They are very much willing to take their time on you explaining and making the right decisions for your loved one. They have went above and beyond our expectations. I would highy recommend them!
I was assisted by DW Kim and went through plans thoroughly. No one looks forward to your own passing but it was discussed in a professional manner and I am glad that I have one less thing to worry about thanks to him.
Kind compassionate staff who won’t harass you if you come to visit a loved one and stay an extremely long time , even when it gets close to when they need shut the gates for the night , you never feel rushed or judged by anybody . They give you space and respect . Aside from that , this place is literally one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. All the graves are kept well maintained and the gardening /landscaping is immaculate, everything about this place is just stunning !
I would most definitely recommend this service to people. My grandpa passed away just over a year ago, and his tombstone and all the flowers and everything around it, is always kept clean.
Valley View helped my family with a passing last year. I highly recommend requesting Eric Child as he was very delicate with my grieving family and guided us through the entire process.
Our family had to plan a cremation for a loved one; the first time we've gone through this experience. We met initially with Sanjeev and Mark, who work on different areas of planning. While I'm sure business is healthy at Valley View, we felt that we had the offices to ourselves and that we had everyone's full and complete attention, yet never rushed. We decided to only have a cremation and to not bury my Dad there. Although all of VV's services were fully explained, which was appreciated, we did not feel pressured to purchase more services than we'd decided upon. Even the visit to view Dad one last time prior to cremation was very caring as I did not feel rushed. In addition to help with the cremation Vally View also offers detailed support to navigate the legal steps necessary after someone dies, and explained things to us over and over very patiently. Overall we found Valley View and their staff to be really thoughtful and professional.
I sincerely praise a salesperson named June. I met her at the funeral of my friend's father. Her careful and unrequited dedication made me feel her sincerity. After communicating, we can feel her thoughtfulness. So I trust her 100% to buy a cemetery and I am willing to introduce more friends to her.
I was greeted and treated very well by Mr. Michael V. Major. As I am from Quebec and moved here in July of last year, he gave me all the information I required to make an informed decision for myself. He was very professional and courteous .
By the time I met Brad through my mom, I was already thinking about securing my funeral and cemetery in the future. I know for a fact that dealing with this kind of stuff while your family and friends are in grieving process is not a great idea. Expensive as well. If you are reading this, yup we will all get there. So might as well planned ahead while we still can, the way we want it to go etc. It is the best departing gift we could offer to our love ones by not giving them more stress to arrange stuff for our final moments. All they have to do is follow our plans. No expenses, no hassle, nothing worry about everything, it is already been taking care of. To Brad, you are amazing! You explained it well to me how the plans goes and options that I want it to happen. I know for the fact I am secured and well taken care of. If you are considering to have one, I truly recommend Brad. Call him, ask questions, make an inquiry I promise you it is all worth it. On a personal note, Brad thank you for being so nice and giving rubs to my dog blue.
I was appalled to see the condition of the two large statues in the Sermon on the Mount area. They were originally white and need to be pressure washed and a coating of white paint added to protect them. Jesus' thumb on the Agony in the Garden statue has been broken off and the supporting base is badly broken and crumbling. I hope Valley View caretakers take the time to repair these before I pass away as I would not want my children coming to visit my grave when the garden looks like a shambles.
Very professional. Pricey, but what do you do? Staff sensitive and courteous.
We purchased preplanned funerals through Brad Bertholm. He is consistently kind, professional, and informative. He touches base with us regularly, just to see how we are doing. Didn't try to sell us anything more than what we said we wanted either. Highly recommend.
Special thankyou to Benjamin and Terry who looked after everything as the perfect gentlemen that they are. A credit to the Arbor group for sure!
Natasha and the rest of the staff at Valley View we're absolutely amazing. Valley View made this difficult time extremely easy and took so much stress away from our family. Thank you so much for the professionalism you showed us.
Horrible experience! We are in the midst of trying to have my father's ashes interred at Valley View and the process has been awful. The price for the niche marker is grossly overpriced and we have been told that we cannot order our own marker from an outside provider. To be mourning the loss of our father while dealing with a sales member (Esther) who cannot provide a good reason why we cannot order a marker from outside sources is plain awful. Her responses to our questions are "I don't know", "let me speak with my manager", and "those are the rules" - simply unacceptable for someone who has supposedly been working there for at least 15 years. According to BC law, Part 4, Division 2 Clause 28 in the Cemetery and Funeral Services Act: "Subject to subsection (2), an operator must not refuse to allow the installation of a memorial that was purchased from someone other than the operator if the memorial complies with the bylaws of the cemetery." Can someone out there PLEASE help me understand why Valley View is above the law by refusing our wishes to purchase a marker from someone else who is willing to charge a more reasonable price to get it done? Their own bylaws do not prohibit us from installing an outside marker - simply that outside markers must meet Valley View's specifications. This experience has been nothing but frustrating at the most stressful of times. JAN 17, 2020 UPDATE: Management has accepted our request to order our own marker from an outside source. The process of getting the marker approved by Valleview and installed is still underway. Will post a final update once the marker has been installed.
You'd think with the price of these services they'd be able to afford a actual masks (like, not a shirt?) so that we don't have to worry about the spread of COVID while finding an affordable and respectable option to send off a loved one.
I am very pleased with the services at Valley View. Eric was able to help me and my husband get our wills and services arranged exactly the way we want Thanks Eric!
I want to thank Eric Child as I was able to get all of my questions answered regarding succession planning for my family before I left for an extended work trip. I now have peace of mind, thank you Eric!
Sadly I've attended too many funerals of friends there since 95 ... every one that I have been to including the witnessing of the cremation of one has been beautifully done ... wonderful people who work there ... id like to go there when it's my time ... hopefully not soon tho .. to be with all my old pals and family ... I recommend them ????
Mr. Daewook Kim was very helpful and organized. He helped our family during very sad and difficult time.
I was not treated kindly at a time of huge loss and grief by the two ushers whom were working on March 10, 2021. The female usher asked me to leave the premises based on other people's actions and also disclosed what the issue was with personal emotion which was annoyance and anger. The issue was two to three people got out of their cars to greet one another briefly at a time of immense loss. Again, I was not part of this action. Respect, along with professionalism and understanding while dealing with people in grief within your institution should be number one. I agreed to leave without Hassel bcus someone else happen to do something - I didn't see or was part of and the female usher was still rude to me and my family. I did leave in shock and dismay of the horrible treatment. Staff should take a respectful workplace and peaceful human etiquette course. Horrible.
To attend.
(Translated) When I visit it, it is neatly organized, so I will also be comforted. Thank you again because Mr. Kim always cared a lot. (Original) 방문할때면 깨끗하게 정리가되어있어 저 또한 편한 위로를 받고갑니다 김선생님께서 항상 많은 신경써주셔서 다시감사드립니다.
Great experience with Nathan! Not only did i get valuable information, I had peace of mind for the inevitable and less worry for the ones left behind. I highly suggest exploring the idea of pre need plans with Valley View who offer very reasonable terms as well. I have brought in my family to sign up for pre need and will be recommending many more. Thanks to Nathan and the rest of Valley View!
Great staff, beautiful cemetery
Valley View has been an absolute pleasure with taking care of everything with the passing of my mother. From start to finish, the genuine care, patience, respect and support from all the staff is phenomenal. During the most hardest times of my life, I felt that Chelsea especially, really was there to support us in ways that I'm truly grateful for. And even the aftercare with Mark has been amazing. The Estate kit I received helped to give me direction and focus (and organized!) when dealing with all the things post-funeral/service. From start to finish, and with the follow-ups and check-ins, I can see why my mother decided to have her service with Valley View. I'm even thinking about planning my pre-arrangements with them, because the same care I received, I would gladly like for them to deliver for my kids when my time comes. Thank you Valley View for everything you do.
We are very happy with Valley View and the exceptional service from Brad Bertholm. As much as we do not want it to happen but death inevitable, hence it should be something everyone should be prepared for in terms of memorial, funeral and burial arrangements. Everything was explained to us in a simple and easy to understand approach. Highly recommended.
What a Shameful Thing To Do! Close the Cemetery on Mother’s Day! You Acted in the Most Evil Way! You Have no Respect For the People! Shame On You!!!
Our whole family was very impressed and comforted by the professionalism, warmth, and kindness of both Ken Stratton: Family Services Director/Divisional Manager in the cemetery office; and Natasha Berry: funeral director from the funeral home office... along with the other staff at Valley View that helped our family during the loss of our grandparents and now recently the painful loss of our father when his time came. Staff facilitated proceedings in a tasteful and respectful manner. Questions that my siblings & I had after we buried our beloved father regarding the future estate planning of our still living family members' estate planning processes and options: Ken did not make the process feel morbid - or depressing, but framed it as a gift to ease burden on our children and to save on future costs by purchasing and making payments at today's dollars. So, for way in the future when the natural time comes tens of thousands of dollars will be saved for our own children as we can lock in at current day rates that are inevitably more affordable than 50-70 years from now. The inquiries that we gave Ken were answered right away & any policy / contract ...if we chose one, are ensured that future proceedings are the way we want it in reasonably affordable way with estate planning payment options that were not pushed or "sold to us" but respectful of our individual wishes (if we so chose to purchase an estate plan and plot) and are fully refundable if not used in the future **and our estate plans are applicable to us no matter where we go in the world in our lifetime with the worldwide transport option one time fee in our contract that protects our family from future added burden-- as the insurance also covers them transporting your remains and a flight ticket for one family member/friend that was with you back from anywhere in the world free of charge in the event of your death (if on vacation for example). It was also a relief that they helped us through the legal paperwork process when our dad died and offered FREE professional counselling via another staff member who is their on staff counsellor to any family members that need it. Again thank you Ken and Natasha for answering all our questions and making the grieving process less painful and stressful for the whole Zentner family.
TLDR: PURCHASE YOUR HEADSTONES ELSEWHERE. YOU WILL SAVE MONEY AND AVOID DEALING WITH THE ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE THAT IS VALLEY VIEW MANAGEMENT. **EDIT IN REPLY TO VALLEY VIEW: My review was written after we already emailed, called, and MET IN PERSON with your manager, Trevor Tidridge. Let me make this clear: Each time WE had to follow up, Mr. Tidridge was incredibly dismissive and presumptuous. He never apologized for what happened and failed to take any accountability. Re-evaluate your practices because your lip service in a Google review reply does not resolve anything. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My father died suddenly and unexpectedly in September 2020. On September 19th, 2020, we ordered and PAID extra for a special gold/green headstone. We were told by our Valley View representative that it would take a few months to be completed and placed. Fast forward to today-- OVER SIX MONTHS since the funeral. We tried to follow up with the representative several times, but we are now told that the representative no longer works there and that the headstone HAS NOT EVEN BEEN ORDERED. The invoice was also prepared incorrectly and states that we paid for a "red" stone, even though we specifically ordered a gold/green stone. Nobody at Valley View took over for that representative and nobody followed up with us. The manager Trevor Tidridge's attitude was uncaring, condescending, and frankly insulting. As the manager, he takes no accountability for his employees. In the end, we had to request a refund for the headstone. Valley View faces no consequences even after breaching their contract and putting an already grieving family through months of emotional distress. In the end, Valley View is a business. They do not care that you are grieving. Just Google, "Surrey cemetery forces family to pay for prepaid funeral." This isn't their first case of absolute garbage customer care and it won't be their last. They will try to get every last dollar out of you. Do your own research, check over your information carefully, and continue to follow-up because the customer service at Valley View ends the moment they receive their cheques.
Scott Cameron is amazing … made a difficult situation extremely easy ❤️
Great professional service
I have officiated a funeral at Valley View Funeral several weeks ago. I had no what to prepare for. Yet Mr. Daewook Kim sent me all the infos I have to know for the funeral. He is such a good staff for me and the family of the deceased. Thanks!!!
Mark was very helpful, informative, patient, and understanding. There was a lot of people involved on my end which inherently causes confusion. Mark answered all our questions with patience, went above and beyond, and provided insight as to what options may work better for our needs. The delicate experience of starting to plan a family members final wishes was made that much easier. I didn’t feel pressured anytime, but Mark checked in periodically to make sure we weren’t lost in the information and decision making. I’d recommend Valley View and Mark to anyone. Very professional and warm which is something you’d want while planning this sort of thing.
Good
We would like to send our sincere thanks and appreciation to Christina Ilicic for her kind assistance, time, patience, professionalism, and care, as we made arrangements for our burial and cremation. Christina exceeded our expectations and we are very pleased with the outcome of our interactions.
I recently had the need for assistance with regard to my parents resting place. I contacted Mark Young at Valley View who was caring and extremely efficient. There were some complications with our request but he managed and helped us through this with ease ! At a very difficult time, he made this so much easier. Thank you so much on behalf of the Kennedy family.
Dealt with Eric Tyler Child - Eric took me through the entire process showing me all options that I could have to intern my departed uncle. I chose a niche which was beautiful. Without Eric's professional Help I could not of done this. Eric made me feel comfortable at this hard time. I visited many cemeteries but chose to only deal with Eric. It was a truly piece of mind experience. I would highly recommend Eric to anyone that needs this service. Eric Child to me is the best in the business. Thank you Eric and Valley View.
During this difficult time, Rebecca the funeral directors was amazing. She was compassionate and took her time with our family. Rebecca went above and beyond to accommodate our wishes to have a smooth and comforted service. Also, Elizabeth is great as she would check on me from time to time to make sure I am doing ok. Thank you, Rebecca and Elizabeth.
I would recommend. Very professional people.
I didn't have my family's funeral here but I chose an indoor charnel house here. Last year, I went to several places to choose a charnel house. I've been there, but I chose this indoor charnel house because it's cozy and nice. I needed Korean language service, but I could get good service comfortably because I had Mr.DaeWook Kim I thank him and will recommend it to my friends from now on.
Compassionate service, lots of options and they made it easy.
Daewook Kim Last year March my Father to go Haven At That Time My Family Was Every First Time He heiping My Family Very nice & help so MR Kim so Good Help
Bradley was a great help with the whole process at the funeral home and was very well informative. He helped guide us with all the paper work, site viewing, and arrangements. It was a pleasure to work with him.
Shak was professional and was helpful, during our time of loss and grief, the place and the chapel is very beautiful and clean, but the cemetery arrangements with Kevin did not go well. Not professional and honest. There was no tent put at the grave even though it was raining and the family had requested. Also lowering the casket hoisted on a backhoe is very unprofessional and nerve wrecking for the family to watch. Never ever have seen something like that before. Don't know why they don't put the vault in the ground first and lower the casket into it with the device.
Staff did a great job for a recent family member's funeral. Seems like everything was well organized and no issues. Grounds are well kept and nice place to visit.
The parking is horrible, people park on both sides of the road, we got stuck, and no employee is helping.
I really appreciate helping about all funerals from Dea Wook Kim. Thanks again!!!
I had been to Valley View Funeral Home on numerous occasions for funerals and have always found it to be professional and courteous experience. Earlier this month however, I had a death in my immediate family and had to arrange a funeral. I was contacted the next day by Daewook Kim. Given the cultural diversity of our city, it's great that Valley View has staff that can accommodate them all. Daewook was very empathetic, courteous and professional during his explanation of the funeral process. He was very careful to ask all the right questions to ensure that all the details were covered from a religious and cultural perspective. On the day of the funeral Daewook was there to assist with the service and was able to help our guests who spoke both English and Korean. Following the funeral, Daewook was very helpful as he explained all the paperwork that would need to be submitted to various section of the Federal Gov't. This was extremely helpful as there are a lot of forms to file. Daewook even went above and beyond, by taking the time to reach out to me after the funeral to ensure that I was doing ok and to see if I required any further assistance. The staff at Valley View, and specifically Daewook, made a tough time much easier to navigate.
I would like to thank Vickie Siu for her kind support and assistance in arranging my father's funeral service. Her quick response to our enquires is much apprciated. She is experienced and detail oriented. Our funeral went well. I will highly recommend Vickie to my friends when they need funeral service in the future.
July 20, 2020 This review is more about my family’s overall experience with Mr. Daewook Kim’s service. During the time of sorrow and sadness, Mr. Kim made our family’s difficult time a bit less challenging by providing the most excellent service. He exemplifies a sense of professionalism and courtesy at all times, works with passion and beyond the call of duty, and delivers his tasks pleasantly. Mr. Kim is clearly an exceptional individual and I would give him outstanding scores on all aspects. He was thorough, patient, extremely resourceful and above all, he shows that he actually cares! I am confident his service he provided to us has far exceeded the requirements of the job. Furthermore, I will say that if there are more people like Mr. Kim at Valley View, it will definitely be a better experience for everyone who goes through this sad and difficult process.
Had great service from a nice young man named Brad. Would recommend Valley View in the future.
"Stop in today" for a free legal will kit...? While this is a lovely, well-kept cemetery, the current advertisement for free legal will kits is a bit misleading. It's not just a stop-in kind of visit, but rather a PR move. They want you to fill out all your information for draws, book a sit-down session with an employee (for an appointment weeks later, not on the spot), and go through several hoops. There's no kit to simply stop in and pick up.
Our family was very happy about their service. Daewook and Shakeel were very compassionate and professional. They went above and beyond to accommodate our wishes and needs.
지난봄에 저희 아버님 갑자기 서비스를 해야하는데 김대욱씨 께서꼼꼼이 잘챙겨주세서 너무감사 감명받아 디른분에게도 밸리뷰공원 을 많이추천하고있습니다
We received very good service from Brad when we made a pre-planning purchase at Valley View Cemetery. He met with us a second time to answer our follow-up questions and also escorted us to visit the grave of a very dear friend who had recently passed.
Very peaceful.
Horrible. Couldn't find my grandmother's plaque. Went to the admin office. They sent us to the cemetery office. Then they sent us to the arbor office. They then tried to send us back to the cemetery office. That's when I snapped.
Shane and the staff at Valley View did a great job with the burial service for our Mom. They were patient, helpful and professional throughout the whole process. The service went smoothly and they continued to reach out after to offer condolences and whatever help we might need.
We appreciated at Daewook Kim for his kindness and professional help. We will recommend his service to others.
Brace yourself to get gouged at every step of the process. You first lose your loved ones and then lose your savings.
I would like to thank the team at Valley View for their assistance. I was relocating from BC for work and Eric was able to help me get everything set before I left. He was both professional and personal in answering my questions and helping organize what information would be required to complete my arrangements. My loved ones will now have no decisions or bills when the time comes. Thank you.
Very helpful
Wife & I purchased cedar lane plan for both of us with Ms. Darcy Fry. A very professional pretty lady Ms. Garcy recognizes our family visions and the benefits we values with the pre-arrangements regarding the matter. She and her support team took care of everything very well. Excellent recommendations were provided and we were very satisfied. Thanks to Ms. Garcy Fry. Recommending her to everyone that needs the arrangements.
Brad Bertholm has provided exceptional service and care, we feel so comfortable and confident in moving forward with this company!
I really appreciate all the help from director daewook kim . All my families felt really well taken care out of our hard time . He was very gentle through out whole funeral process . Thank you !!
The staff at Valley View are great. They were SO helpful when my husband died. They are all very caring people. I dealt with Bradley Bertholm and he has been wonderful to me - genuinely caring and responsive when I needed him
Hi I often deliver flowers to valleyview I met Daewook kim He is so so kind and he helped me lots I was so impressed I did made funeral service with him for the future He explained very well and I did trust him and valleyview funeral home Daewook kim is very very nice person I very recommend him for the funeral service
Brad was outstanding and professional. He helped me through some of the toughest decisions to make for my Dad. I was that impressed I came back and set up my own fiuneral arrangements so my son doesnt have to worry. I truly havent even taken the time to thank him personally yet.
A big Thank you to Mark Young. He went beyond to make the day special. Just like my father was.
I can't say enough to thank all the staff at Valley View for their support with the passing of my Mother. They helped my Father and I work through all the stages of the loss of a loved one. So appreciate them all.
i went there one day and met ken stratton and was very nice and showed me grounds ect, then i booked a consultation with him, was very pushy and wanted me to sign a contract before i had made any decisions on what i wanted to do, and said well you can just sign the contract and ill keep it aside for you, i relealize he is most likely on a comission as i heard if you don make your target that they proballly let you go, then the sign outside sais free will kit no purchase necessary, well i sat and listened for 2 hours and when was over i walked out with no will kit, as im walking through the parking lot, i hear him yelling i forgot to give you this!!! ( will kit ) why didnt he just give it me at the beginning after he showed it to me!!! then the calls dont stop, i dont need to be hassled by valley view calls and then on sunday nov 18th he calls from his cell phpne and doesnt and leave a message so called back and was hom now i can block all calls from my cell and have made arrangements with family as to my wishes upon the time when i leave this earth........ so people beware was the most stress and i just want to be left alone, thank you..................
Best landscaped cemetery in BC . Well balanced scenery through out whole year .
From the first meeting and through the entire funeral service arrangement, our family could not be happier from everything done by Mr. Daewook Kim, the funeral coordinator. He is honest with every little detail with regards to the cost of the funeral service and cemetery arrangement. He represented his company very well and answered all the questions/concerns in a timely manner. We are very pleased and highly recommend this company.
We love Valley View! We have many friends and family laid to rest there and have attended many beautiful services over the years. In May 2020 my father passed away we had a pre need package with Valley View and it made our time of grieving so much easier knowing everything was being taken care of and in good hands. We purchased 2 more plots the week after for myself and sister and my grandparents. Beautiful grounds with lovely nature surrounding. We recommend Valley View for all your needs! On behalf of Katherine Emily and Donna Paul.
I cannot recommend Valley view enough. From the moment their staff answered my phone call the morning after my Mom died to the moment Brad B. helped me fill out the last form for her estate I was treated with respect and heartfelt caring. Every staff member I encountered was helpful and kind. The majority of my service was provided by Brad and Rebecca and I cannot express the thanks I have for both of these team members. Thanks to them and the staff at Valley view I did not dread these necessary appointments. Every question I had they helped find an answer and bring me clarity. They took time to listen to stories about my Mom. They checked in on me. They helped me find ways to honor my Moms wishes and bring peace and closure. I’d also like to personally thank Chad for his efforts behind the scenes and his dedication to making my Mom look absolutely beautiful for her last earthly goodbyes. Tho I never met you personally you gave me a gift I will carry my entire life. If you are reading this and considering Valley view services first let me say I’m sorry for your loss. Secondly please know I cannot recommend Valley view enough. Dealing with the death care industry is not something any of us ever wants to do but unfortunately it’s necessary. Valley view staff have a way of making the impossibly hard a little bit easier to get through. I will definitely use their services again and will recommend them to anyone requiring funeral services.
I lost both my parents and at valley view, Natasha and all of the staff I’ve dealt with do their best to get things going and very helpful and kind. Things can get very overwhelming and it’s great that they take care of everything when things get so frustrating. During the covid times at least they provide web live so families across the world can watch. Thank you for all you’re help and calling me asking how I’m doing from time to time... I appreciate it ????????
Professional and multi-language team!
Thank you to Valley View, on behalf of myself and the many other families in Surrey who have had to say good bye to loved ones in these unprecedented times. Thank you for your strength, your kindness and your dedication, ensuring that those we have lost are cared for and for providing opportunities to commemorate the lives of those we have lost.
My wife Joan passed away in November, 2021. Valley View Funeral Home did a very professional job in looking after all the details and helping us through a very difficult time. Our funeral director was Swetlana Boot who explained the process very competently and was kind and thoughtful. Cemetery Manager Mark Young gave us a presentation that included many helpful suggestions. Mark arranged to have our plaque installed at the gravesite within a few weeks of the burial, despite winter conditions. My family and I are very pleased with the service provided by Valley Funeral Home & Cemetery. George Garrett
The staff was so professional and kind. Losing a loved one is never easy, but they made sure to make our experience as personal as possible. They helped us in every way possible and made sure to keep our comfort in mind. Amazing customer service.
Brad has been a pleasure to work with, very thoughtful and respectful
I am utterly disappointed by the response of staff to my concerns about the missing vase at my Father’s resting place. We were not made aware of theft so it was not until I called to inquire that we were advised of the investigation. I was assured by staff that they were working on finding a solution and I will be contacted with an update. Other than a sales call months later to ask if my Mother has received a “free kit” for her “planning purposes,” we have not had any other contact from the company. I just posted a review on the company’s Facebook page and received a response immediately. I was hopeful at first that we could settle the matter amicably. But instead of acknowledging my frustration for not having any answers to the status of the vases and that we, the victim, have to pay out of pocket for the replacement, it was all simply dismissed with a “we don’t make any profits from the replacement,” that they don’t “cover for thefts”. Perhaps if they had just picked up the phone so we can discuss this matter instead of hiding behind social media to communicate we won’t be here now. Clearly reaching an impasse, I wish to have nothing more to do with this company.
From my experience, they seemed extremely disorganized. We brought an urn and our ashes were returned in a temporary container because they lost the urn? Also, the funeral industry is crazy expensive but even so, their billing was confusing with multiple invoices and no confirmation of account closing. Overall, not the best experience, especially during the utmost difficult time.
What a horrible experience. This is not where you want a loved one's service. The absolute disregard for families and service coordination is BS. They made the guests pick up and drop off their own flowers delivered the day before, due to tardiness or laziness of their workers. 45 minutes into the service, flowers had to be brought by the family's helpers. Do not deal with them.
I found it very easy to make arrangements Bradley was very helpful and easy to talk to
Our sincerest thanks go out to Garcy at Valley View Funeral Home. She was very kind, knowledgeable, helpful and caring in guiding us through the process of End of Life planning. She assisted us in selecting our Cemetery Arrangements and thus allowed us to prepare for the future. By doing this preplanning, we know that we are saving our children many of the decisions that are required at the most difficult time. Thanks again to Garcy and Valley View for walking us through the process. We can certainly recommend their services.
Horrible customer service! Rude and disrespectful! Staff member arguing with me as I attempted to organize details of a funeral. Repeatedly ignoring the information that I was providing to tell me that I was wrong, despite me giving her clear details and all necessary information. In a painful and sorrowful time, the staff here make planning a funeral impossible and excruciatingly painful.
I would just like to thank Garcy Fry and Valley View for setting my mind at ease. In this time of Covid, variants, uncertainty even with being double vaccinated and too many unexpected deaths I wanted to ensure that my family would not have to worry should I succumb. Garcy was warm yet professional and covered all of the plans with me. I am grateful to have this matter resolved.
Funeral visit turns into nightmare. Worst management ever! Today I had an appointment to open the cremation niche display I had already pre-paid for previously. Everything went smoothly with my agent Yang who provided good service. However, everything went downhill afterwards. I was directed to use the washrooms in the office however the front desk rejected my entry and told me to use the porta potty outside due to Covid-19 policies. They had a sign of “No public washrooms” but I’m not the public. I am a customer who had an appointment with one of their agents. I was here for a service I paid for. I relayed my complaint to Trevor Tidridge the Branch Manager and he insisted this policy was to prevent the spread of Covid-19 which does not make any sense at all. The porta potty was disgustingly dirty. There were toilet paper everywhere and pee stains on the ground that look permanent. Trevor even had the audacity to say they spent a lot of money on cleaning it regularly. What a joke. Their porta potty is literally a carrier for all kinds of viruses, not just Covid. There was no cleaning water or any kinds of disinfectants present. They are promoting viruses instead of stopping it. There are lots of available washrooms in the nearby chapels, but no all customers are to relieve ourselves inside an unhygienic degrading facility. Yang was able to get me to use the indoor washroom, which was nice of him, however the issue is with Management alone. How can you treat customers like this? After you receive our money, you don’t care about service anymore. Just deplorable. Shame on you.
Unfortunately I have had to arrange or be a part of most of my family’s funerals or memorials . Our family always used Forest Lawn. My mom passed last summer and a good friend who also has more then their fair share of death took over for me and arranged through Valley View of course with my permission. I was so pleased. The compassion and service we were provided was outstanding. They took so much off of my shoulders and gave me a comprehensive check list which I am now reviewing. That’s what made me come and give this review. I thought how great they are still helping me. The only thing I wasn’t happy with is the requirement to embalm and view. Our family does not believe in that .
Our experience with Valley View was thorough and tastefully presented. Thank You for your attention to "the little things". The Armstrong Family were pleased to have such a dignified service for our Mom. Your efforts were much appreciated. Thank You
Dear Dae Wook Kim. I really appreciate your service for helping my family.
I dealt with Bradley Bertholm. At first I was hesitant but he did a great job of explaining the emotional trauma the family has to experience if things aren’t pre planned. That realization made the decision to proceed much easier. Bradley was professional and very helpful in explaining all my options!
Excellent service by Brad who explained how to plan ahead with the family planner and gave us a nice tour of beautiful valley view. Would highly recommend
I have my grandmother and mom buried at Valley View. Brad was the gentleman that helped me with this difficult process last year. He walked me through all the neccessary steps and kept me informed and educated on everything that needed to be done. He took time out of his busy schedule to meet with me on multiple occasions. He also made every effort he could to make things work within my budget. I would recommend anyone who has to go through this process, to work directly with Brad. He's a true professional.
We recently had the great pleasure of working on our end of life planning with Joseph Marc Paquette. We must commend Marc on his exceptional professionalism, understanding and knowledge in discussing all aspects of this very delicate subject. We feel extremely confident that Marc provided all of the information required for us to make the best decision for ourselves and our families. We appreciate you Marc, and the time and knowledge you shared with us.
I had an amazing experience dealing with Valley View. I made funeral pre-arrangements so that my family won't have any hassle when I pass away. The family services director Garcy Fry was incredibly helpful. She walked me through everything I needed to know A-Z. She was so honest and created a plan that worked best for me. I highly recommend reaching out to Garcy for excellent service. You not be disappointed!
(Translated) Thank you so much for taking such meticulous care at my mother's funeral recently. I liked Valley View's funeral procedure, so I was also happy to purchase the cemetery, but daewook kim's neat and meticulous handling of the work and everything from the customer's point of view was taken care of and meticulously explained. It was a pleasure to treat customers as human beings rather than just business relationships. If anyone asks me if I know a good funeral home in the future, I would definitely recommend going with daewook kim, and I would also like to announce the valley view funeral ^^ (Original)
Excellent Service rendered by Valley View Staff members especially our funeral Director Sanjeev Gill, who dedicated his personal time & effort to ensure our cultural values were very well accommodated to fulfill our traditional rituals for the funeral service. Valley View Funeral Home in Surrey is very clean & well maintained. Highly recommend this place for Funeral Services.
