You may have noticed that it reaches an opinions average is quite high, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the rating is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Mortuary belongs to the category of Funeral home.
The funeral directors and the hostesses at Rideau are very caring, thoughtful and extremely well organized. I have always been treated with great respect by all those who work there.
A special thank you to Marie-Cristine for her dedicated service and understanding for the service for both of my parents, Joyce and Edward Johnston, which took place Saturday, August 17, 2019. It was difficult, firstly as it was a joint funeral/Celebration of Life and also for myself and my brothers with being out of town. Marie-Christine and staff did an excellent job in finalizing the service from the delicious luncheon, music, slideshow, bookmarks, and everything else that had to be completed down to the last detail. We thank you so very much. Ellen Benedetti (Johnston) and family.
Nice and clean
Do not waste your time. We went in when we knew our family member would pass shortly and set up everything in advance. They assured us this would make the process so simple. One problem was we live in Ontario, and had to go home. We had a friend in the area go to confirm the identity of the deceased, and everything else we had set up. From beginning to end this place screwed up everything. The fact that they have the office, and the funeral home, adds a lot of issues. Everything needs to be centralized. We were constantly being told me need to go to the other building to get whatever we needed, and then went you went to the other building, they'd send you back to the office because they didn't have the answers you were looking for. COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. They make the process so much harder than it has to be.
I highly recommend Betsy. She was very professional, patient, empathic and sweet during our time at the Wake and funeral.
We had planned to have a closed casket but they made my mother look so beautiful and natural we left it open. Very professional, kind and courteous. It is a beautiful setting to say your last goodbye to your loved ones.
God Bless Your Soul Zaher. We All Love You. RIP
I would like to share my opinion on this funeral home my grandmother had an open casket and her makeup was done so poorly that I could not recognize her she looked like someone else the skin tone was orange and her hands were not tinted she had orange face and white hands and her nail polish was painted outside the lines her hands were white as a ghost if you think of using their home for your deceased loved ones dont they they seem to care only about the money
I never had a to assist a funeral here, however its a beautiful place to stroll around, you can tell the staff cares greatly about the aesthetics of the place (grass, flowers, trees). They have different sections for different cultures/religions, in my opinion the most beautiful one is the Japanese. Overall a very zen, secure and beautiful place.
If your thinking of using this place. I recommend you not to. I am disappointed with myself and my family to have used there service with the passing of one of our family members. They just seem like they see my family as an amount of money. They’re disrespectful and never say things clearly. An example of me putting my loved ones hat on his grave. And they took it and “put it in a box”... they lost something that met so much to us, and the only way we found out was when we went to go visit his grave. I would tell anyone that wants to give these people business not too. All they see you as is a big amount of money. Don’t give them business, give yourself and your loved one the chance to a respectful place to rest and for you to visit. Please.
PEARL GOLDING. I WANT IT TO BE KNOWN UNBELIEVABLE STAFF KIND CONSIDERATE OVER THE TOP PEOPLE WHO SHOULD TRAIN OTHERS TO BE OTHERS AS HOW TO MAKE THE BEST EXPERIENCE A GREAT DAY BLESSUP TO EVERYONE AND THANKS TO ALL BLESSUP ALWAYS
Very good place!
Thank you for beautiful candlelight service
Nice place
Fantastic, professional and sensitive... I can not say enough good things about Rideau. I have referred all my friends and family and they always go way above expectations.
Dealing with staff and especially with Mme. G. Veilleux is amazing. So many names to mention but each and every one of them are so courteous and helping nature that I can not explain. I do arrange funerals for our community members. We get same courteous service. If i could i would give 5*+ L. Vora
Beautiful surroundings for a Cemetery that has been in the West Island a long time. The staff in time of need is more than helpful in that they have a professionalism and knowledge to aid one in grief.
I cannot thank Rideau Funeral Home enough for their help, support, sympathy and patience with my family and I as we sorted out my Grandmother's funeral recently. Roxanne Guimond was amazing! SO patient and explained everything so well. The facility is very modern, welcoming and beautiful. The grounds are lovely and the mausoleum is stunning. My family and I were unable to be there when they placed my Grandmother's urn in her spot, so they took quite a few pictures and sent them to us. It was so nice. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I have celebrated and sung at many services at Rideau Funeral Home. I cannot say enough about Geneviève Veilleux and her team of excellent funeral directors and the entire staff at Rideau. The warmth, professionalism and great dignity with which each person carries out her/his work is very uplifting and heart-warming. Everyone is treated with dignity and the clients are treated with the greatest of gentleness and respect. Félicitations à Geneviève Veilleux et toute son équipe pour un travail impeccable et hors paire.
We are deeply grateful to the outstanding staff at Rideau Memorial Gardens for helping us through the difficult journey of planning our mother’s memorial, Saturday, January 11, 2020. From the moment we walked through the doors we were greeted with compassion, guidance and tremendous support by the entire team at Rideau. Our funeral director, Adal, patiently and gently walked us through the planning process and skillfully matched our needs to the special people who made the service extraordinary and beyond our expectations (Rev. Joel Coppieters, Julie Lafontaine - singer, Bernie - pianist). During Adal’s days off, he made sure the transition to his replacement was seamless. Isabelle helped us finalize last minute but important items, and reassured us that everything would be as we expected. Our graphic artist, Melanie, worked quickly and expertly to create an exquisite bookmark to commemorate our mother’s memory. Special thanks to Christine and Yohan for their thoughtfulness and attention to detail during the service. Lastly, we requested a last minute change on the Rideau site at 10pm the night before the memorial - the change was made within 5 mins. Rideau Memorial Gardens is an outstanding organization. We cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism, services, and comfort.
Awful experience, terrible service, do not recommend.
Very appreciative of the staff here. The manner in which they provided their services was so respectful and caring.
Quite dissatisfied with the quality of service one expects from a funeral home. In our time of grief, we rely on them to manage the details that they are paid to handle. And we can all agree that these services do not come cheap. In addition to the music on their new system failing where the minister had to break into song to compensate for the malfunction, this particular funeral home also did not pay attention to a pretty important detail and my family is having to deal with it a year after my father’s passing. As beautiful as the setting is for a funeral home, the Collins Clarke funeral home on Cartier Avenue in Pointe-Claire was so much more professional and reliable.
Wonderful service by all the staff especially by Liza-Marie and Mollie; they helped guide us through the process with grace and were able to set our minds at ease during this turbulent time, no matter the difficulty that arose.
I lost my dad from Cancer on march 31st 2019. 7 months later, i lost my mom in her sleep. She just never woke up. I am here alone with no one to help me. Not even my family. Which is really sad. I been to the bearevement support groups at this home funeral. These people are amazing. If you are willing and want the help. You can get it from them. Very professionnel. They will give you the tools you need to support you. Very kind as well. I also would like to say a special Thank you to Geneviève for her understanding and support during this difficult time. You dont get that everyday. It gave me hope knowing the offer that was given to me yesterday. I now know now that people do still care out there. Thank you Geneviève. Nisha
Avoid this place if you have a choice! Incredibly bad service. First after returning home we discovered a different first name, and birthdate on some of the documents. When I went back the next day to pick up the corrected documents I was shocked. They had used white out to change the errors. On top of it, I discovered that not all of the errors were corrected. The manager asked why I was so upset when "they were at least 75% correct". I also had the exact same runaround mentioned in a previous review. I had to ask them if I was dealing with 2 companies. When the grave marker was installed they forgot to tell me! I took the matter to their regional director who promised things would improve. To date they are still making errors, and do not appear to care. You don't need this kind of treatment when you lose a loved one.
Very professional and helpful. Beautiful location and reception room.
Disappointing handling of a situation at the cemetery and too many inappropriate giggles from the funeral director.
From the moment we stepped into the Rideau Memorial Gardens and was greeted by Caroline Cyr we felt welcomed and comforted. We hold Caroline Cyr in very high regards for her kindness in helping us through a difficult time of losing a loved one. The entire staff there went out of their way to help us out throughout the entire procedure and ensured that all went smoothly, from start to finish. The complete team, from the Funeral Home staff, the Sales Staff and the Groundskeepers are of exceptional character, and special thanks to Caroline Cyr for thinking of us and keeping in touch throughout the years. We are very satisfied with our choice at the Rideau Memorial Gardens DDO Site and would not have done this any different.
We had my mother's service in September 2020. Everyone was professional and accommodating. I saw on FB that there was a contest with Rideau for a snowblower, but I passed over it a couple of times. Finally, I decided to enter and much to my amazement, I won! They called and let me know what day and time it would be delivered. The snowblower is a really good quality machine and it was not cheap! More impressive than that, the National Manager,Frank and the local Manager,Patrick came to my home and waited for the delivery and to congratulate me! Wow! You just don't see that kind of service any more! Thank you so so much! (Hope I got the names and titles correct, I was still stunned when they were here, lol!)
