I had a family member pass away recently, and even though i lived several hours from Edmonton i reached out to Trinity based on the chance the body would be transported to the city. From the first call, they were incredibly accommodating. Even a week later when i found out my family member would not be transported to the city, i spoke with Shawn who offered me a very reasonable price to pay for transportation, as it was still cheaper than my local option. He also identified a cheaper local option that i missed in my city, that made things easier for myself while losing the buisness. In order to complete our wills we decided to pay for our future interment! (So that our executor would not be troubled with the extra stress at our "end of life" event.) We visited several funeral homes around Edmonton, and were surprised by the different prices $$$ that were quoted to us! We are very happy that we could shop around to find; "Trinity Funeral Home charges the most reasonable amount on all our nessasary (future) services." 'Vince' greeted us at the Edmonton location and helped us choose what would be required to complete our will. We recommend that you add Trinity to your list of possible funeral services! I had thought I written a review of Trinity’s service before but I hadn’t, so consider this my 2 in 1 review, both 5 stars. 1st review: Late Jan of 2021, my father tragically passed and due to the trauma and shock of it all, without truly knowing my dad’s plans of what he wanted, we were running late in transferring my dad’s body to a funeral home. Around 10 days after his passing I got the courage to research deeply into a place that could take care of him and sent out multiple emails to talk about numbers and whatnot. Although this is the business of dealing with death, of course most other homes that are well known will offer their condolences. Shawn Feist from Trinity was the first who both understood the urgency and was willing to help us out asap along with serving his compassion about the situation surrounding it all. I admit I was a bit biased since from both word of mouth from friends and family and also the authentic reviews of Trinity Funeral Home from people just like me, made me want to settle on Trinity before I even knew their pricing and quality of service. Upon multiple emails, phone calls, and only one visit with Shawn, we were settled that they were priced 100% fair amongst the great quality of service they provided for us and my dad on his funeral. They made sure we were completely looked after as they could easily tell we were in shock from the trauma and obviously didn’t want to deal with the sudden arrangements that needed to be done. I am forever thankful for their support, compassion, and level of service. It is a total bonus to have everything all in one area too, as we held the funeral service at their chapel and they were able to correspond with an officiant from St. Joseph’s Basilica. From my family and myself, thank you to Shawn Feist and all the staff involved in taking care of my dad’s body and memorial. 2nd review: Fast forward to the present, after we were able to stand on our feet again, I was able to setup an appointment with Vince Gobeil to make pre-arrangements for my mom. Due to the complete satisfaction of what we received and how my dad was taken care of early 2021, I wanted my mom to have peace of mind and we managed to make pre-arrangements with Trinity, once again, this time with Vince in late Dec 2021. Vince was able to make a stop at my mom’s house with me attending to assist. He thoroughly explained the differences between price changes and differences from when the person has already passed to when they’re still alive. We only ended up paying $1000 more than my dad but it insures travel assurance (if she passes, away from home, nobody really teaches you that it’ll cost an arm and a leg to send the body back home for funeral!), and webcasting to family overseas (which we initially paid for my dad too but through the collaborative media company on a separate invoice but with my mom it was included on Trinity receipt). Vince explained about how our money paid for prearrangements was protected and fully transferable. He answered all of our questions with an empathetic ear and also told personal experiences in order for us to relate. It was a comforting and calm experience to pre-arrange, I truly appreciate Vince’s knowledge and kindness. Thank you Trinity for offering your services at the price that you do. I can’t imagine going anywhere else for these life-changing circumstances. My family and I truly appreciate your customer service, professionalism, compassion, and ease of service. Thank you.

It was a good experience, but there is always add on to the price but you can always say no to keep the costs down, and let the family pay for some things at the actual time of death: eg flowers, guest book, food.

We initially had gone through the process at another funeral home, and were staggered by the cost of a simple cremation. We were handling the service completely by ourselves. Jenelle not only was able to get our loved one brought to Trinity and taken care of, she did it for 34 percent of the cost... Resulting in the beneficiaries actually saving 2600 dollars! We were treated with respect and caring and never once did we feel like it was a "Bargain" service, rather it was a Gold Star service. We will never take our business anywhere else. Being an acquaintance of Dennis Rego, I felt comfortable enabling his professional ethics to satisfy our family's needs at this trying, stressful and vulnerable time. Respectful, and knowledgeable, but ... Update: I've had to edit this review, as there was a mix-up with the cremation, where they didn't believe that they would be ready in time for the ceremony. I had communicated the date of the ceremony with them on the date of her passing (Sunday), and done the paper work that day. I confirmed with them on Tuesday, and was not informed of any issues at that time. However, I'm told that paper work held things up when I asked them on Thursday. They informed me that they may not be ready in time for Saturday. I expressed the urgency of the situation, and they said they would look into it and call me about it the same day. That did not happen. Today (Friday), I called for an update. They tell me everything is ready and the remains should be delivered this afternoon. I will need to call and confirm before I head over at 4pm. If everything goes well, I'll leave this review as is. The lack of communication was displeasing to say the least.

I only wanted a very simple cremation done for myself as part of my pre-planning. No frills or anything. We had called another funeral home however was told that they don’t do that there. I called Vince at Trinity Funeral Home and the response was quite different. He was welcoming on my wishes and gave me a ball park price over the phone a couple of weeks ago. I went in today. First, their location was very easy to get to. The place was clean and welcoming. Vince seen me right away. He walked me through everything in a pleasant manner. He didn’t try to talk me into anything differently to what I wanted. He brought up some issues I hadn’t thought of. The final cost was very close to what he said on the phone. Turns out it was a great price and I can pay monthly. I highly recommend this funeral home. Thank you Vince.

My experience was great. The staff were friendly and went out of there way to help you through with all the arrangements . It's never easy loosing a love one but having things go smoothly with no hiccups makes it a bit easier and putting the trust with Trinity Funeral Home only makes the whole experience a lot less stressful during a difficult time. It was a small gathering and the room that we used was able to accommodate our needs. Perhaps if you think of ever renovating a larger room to accommodate a gathering afterwards would be beneficial for larger groups over 100 people. I highly recommend Trinity Funeral Home to anyone.

I can not say anything wrong with this place my brother passed away suddenly on us. I live in Florida and had to do all the arrangements for him. I called about 10 other places and they were either too expensive or I just got a cold feeling this was the last placed I called. We went here for my Grandmothers funeral. My Grandmother is Chinese but there are a few English only speakers in our family. The funeral directors were completely unaccommodating to us. They refused to explain any of the procedures in English and insisted that our grieving family members translated for us. It is their job to accomodate us, not the other way around. We felt completely left out of the process. Furthermore, they did an awful job with the embalming. Over priced and terrible service. Avoid at all costs.

Upon my Mothers passing it was my job as Executor and Son to plan her funeral, My Mother had 10 Children and was very close to us all. I had researched funeral home pricing previously and found Trinity Funeral Home to not only be competitive but substantially more reasonable than the rest. Don't be fooled by any "Not For Profit" organization's claim of cheaper costs, they are not!! I contacted Trinity within minutes of her passing in hospital. I was instantly fully instructed of how the company will pick up the body and follow any wishes my Mother had. I showed up at Trinity Funeral Home the next morning and was greeted by any employee that walked by me. I met with John Laureano in his office to plan the rest. He walked me through the product room with Coffins and Urns etc and gave me all the time I needed to pick the correct one for our family. I was then introduced to the fellow that would make the mass cards for us etc. All we had to do was email the Obit information and a picture of my Mother and they took care of the rest as promised, John also automatically filled out the death benefit form for Canada Pension and sent it in on our behalf. I honestly do not believe that this Funeral Home could have done anything better than they did and I feel we got awesome value for our dollar. People do not automatically think of price when grief strikes, It's refreshing to know that this company does not take advantage of people in their time of Mourning.

My grandmother recently passed away, and it's been quite an emotional roller coast coupled with her passing and with the Covid-19 pandemic/restrictions. During this difficult time, what really set Trinity aside from the other funeral homes I had visited is their level of compassion and understanding. Date of pre-arrangement appointment = July 29, 2020 Representative = Vince Gobeil, Prearrangement Advisor DETAILS My family and I went to meet Vince at Trinity Funeral Home's west-end prearrangement office. Upon arriving, we noticed the office space was clean and professional. We were ~20 minutes early for our appointment, but Vince was early too and accommodated us. He was professional, transparent, and respected different perspectives. We were originally planning to complete a Wish List (listing of services, not pre-payment) but decided to proceed with a pre-payment as well to lock in current day prices for services. We felt comfortable having a contract with Trinity Funeral Homes and my family was happy to sign since Vince did not try to up-sell services but rather provided grounded advice. I asked direct questions about what would happen to the money pre-paid for cremation services if Trinity Funeral Home were to not exist in the future and was told that other Funeral Homes, while not legally bound to do so, would most likely honor the cremation service contract. My experiences are limited to the prearrangement appointment but will follow-up with another review when my parents' cremation contract is ready to be executed upon their death. One other thing Trinity Funeral Home does is fully refund your prepayment if you change your mind about the payment in the future. Vince told me it's not written in our contract document, but is more of a thing Trinity Funeral Home does for people. Thank you Vince for your service. UPDATE 1: We decided to cancel the prepayment contracts on July 30, 2020 as we did not feel like it was a financially wise decision. Will get back on how this experience turns out. I looked at and emailed eight funeral homes in Edmonton when I started this process and of those, Trinity was the only one in Edmonton that listed the prices on the website, as well as answer all my questions and did not use high-pressure sales tactics. They were by far the most honest and least expensive. Trinity did not try to sell us unnecessary items, but were able to provide the nicest items for the most reasonable price when we chose those things for this funeral. After the initial decision was made, we contacted Trinity to make some pre-arrangements for our sick family member. They were very accommodating regarding appointment time and also did not require pre-payment to outline a "wish list" nor did we have to sign a contract of any kind. Once the family member passed we had the peace of mind of calling the people we had already met at the Trinity 24 hour line to have our family member picked up at the hospital, they coordinated with the hospital also. This was a great relief and a tremendous comfort as Trinity called us as soon as she was in their care. Because we had a wish list, the meeting to finalize details, as well as their assistance in writing the Obituary was stress-free. We then had plenty of time to design a funeral folder and received the proof for our approval. The day of the funeral Trinity arrived on time and helped with absolutely everything. The handling of our loved one, as well as the remaining family members, was so respectful and touching to witness. I just can't say enough to thank them for their amazing presence at such a terrible time. Peter and Ryan, as well as the other staff, are well trained experts in every detail, including little things that we never even thought of, like bringing the basket with cards and donations from the church to the funeral car we were riding in to the cemetery, so it would be safe. We needed that, as, like most people when planning and completing a funeral were a little lost. After such a tragic loss, we are left sad, but also so completely impressed by Trinity Funeral Home. Even though she obviously had more "clients" she made us feel like we were her only ones. But a special note needs to go out to Shawn Kenyon who was incredible and very compassionate. I can't say enough great things about Trinity Funeral Home and how easy they made everything for us in dealing with the tragic passing of my brother. I would recommend them to anyone who comes into the situation of unfortunately needing the services of a funeral home. My brother was in his mid 30's and my parents along with myself and sister were obviously devastated. When we talked with John and his staff at Trinity Funeral Home they were kind and understanding. They didn't pressure us into anything we didn't want or need and walked us through everything that we would need to consider in planning the funeral and all our options from there we were able to choose what we thought would be the best for our loved one. When one thinks of planning a funeral you often think of how costly it can be (this was a concern of ours especially with losing someone at a younger age) however we found Trinity Funeral Home's pricing to be the best and we received much more than what we would have received elsewhere. From the initial meeting to the viewing and finally the actual day of the funeral everyone we dealt with at Trinity treated us with kindness and respect and were genuinely supportive. We plan on using Trinity Funeral Home again if/when we need their services and have started looking into pre-arrangement plans so that our loved ones do not have to make the decisions we had to for the recent passing of our brother.

They did not charges fees for every little thing. Also no hidden fees..they are upfront with you about the costs. Our funeral director, Jeff and the Trinity staff were very compassionate, patient and understanding addressing our multitude of questions and concerns. And Jeff was so kind to find a way to fit an unscheduled viewing in for Dad so he could have that little extra time with her which he really needed for closure. So we really appreciated how much Jeff and everyone at Trinity really cared and was so compassionate just to give us that little extra time with mom. You don't feel like just a number with them. If one is ever in need of a funeral home I highly recommend Trinity Funeral Home where they provide the same, I would say better, services then other funeral homes for up to half the cost. The owners are socially conscious and saw that it was time for much more cost effective pricing for beautiful funeral and burial packages for grieving families. At a time when you are already dealing with the great loss of a loved one it is nice to finally see a funeral home that makes it financially and emotionally easier to give them the loving farewell they deserve.

Except line item and charges that would likely amount to the same as a full service funeral home. - Particularly, in the era of Covid 19, Trinity should have in house video production and live streaming capabilities. They do not. As such, my Mother, who lives in Ontario, could not watch her son’s funeral. Nor could my brother’s family members across North America. Trinity did not take any responsibility for this- as the video service ( whom they recommended) was not in house. At the worst time in our lives- we are utterly disappointed and hurt by Trinity’s lack of responsibility.
