Please Anyone considering Leydens Funeral . Don't do it. They gave my Mummy remains to her son that had nothing to do with her for more than five years. I live in Kelowna but when I asked for them they said given to your brother. Alberta LAW is. If nothing in writing. Then must go to oldest child. My sister does not want them also did not speak to her mum in more than five years. Next child is me. LAW. Leydens did not follow the law. Now I have to get the police involved. Not only am I distraught over losing my treasure. I have to deal with this situation because of Leydens. Due DILIGENCE was not done here. Thankfully the law is on my side. On another note staff could not be more rude. No sense of compassion at all Hung up on me when I needed answers. Want your money with no compassion. If your going through a difficult time and need help Leydens is NOT for you. Terrible. Hurtful. Colleen Heck Kelowna BC

Wow, I can't tell you what a wonderful experience I had with Rachel and Lisa at Leyden's this past November when my aunt passed away suddenly. Even though we were taking probably the smallest cremation package they offered they treated me and my mother with such care and attention. We had to go in to identify the body and they really went the extra mile to make it a really special moment with my aunt (lit a candle, dressed her with care and they even put a little ball of yarn that they found in the bag with her clothes in her hands.). I can't recommend them enough, they truly truly care and I'm incredibly grateful.

I can't tell you how wonderful our family's experience was with Leyden's. They took what was such an emotional hard time for us and turned it into something so comforting, loving and reassuring. Flo Simpson was there for us ever step of the way - and her refreshing, honest wonderful energy was so welcoming and so unexpected to find at a funeral home. She was an absolute gem. As a 26 year old single mother/university student, I never imagined that I would have to make funeral arrangements for my younger sister. I have never had to make such arrangements before so I literally had no idea what I was doing. Our funeral director was Dale and I would have to say.... I could not have asked for anyone better because he made sure my sister was well taken care of, he helped me in every way that he could to make sure everything went smoothly, I also had so many questions throughout the process and he had no issues with my countless phone calls. I requested to come in and do my sisters makeup... to ensure that my sister looked her best on the day of the service and they were okay with me coming in and had another funeral director come in and help me... she was also so amazing. I was indecisive about many things and changed my mind frequently, an example was when I stated I was going to find a reverend on my own.... I tried and I ended up calling Dale last minute and even though he was on vacation he quickly got us a reverend for the day of the service - the reverend was good. On the day of the service.. I was worried that the service was not going to be that great because I had a limited budget but it was so nice and beautiful... better than I could have expected. Carter was the one who took care of us that day and I would have to say that she made the experience exceptional. The reason why I'm writing this review is that I know when my sister passed away I had no idea what I was doing or where to go for my sister and if you are reading this and in the same position I was in... I would really recommend Leydens. The staff are all really lovely, the place is nice and I just really felt like my sister was treated with respect and dignity.

Horrible staff and the director was rude and insensitive to the family and visitors at the prayer service. My friend called me and asked to see my loved one and the funeral director said "we don't let strangers off the street in". The funeral director said to that same friend they were not welcome there and that they were lucky they were let inside bc this friend told me that they only care about money. They were rude, arrogant and made what was supposed to be a special day to celebrate my moms life very upsetting for everyone there. I'm sorry that we got this funeral home and I will never recommend them to anyone. If I could give zero stars I would. FFF---

This important edifice is a Calgary icon, inside its inviting, and outside its architecturally beautiful. The staff are friendly and accommodating, as well as professional and experienced in thier field. I Met with Dale he is a pleasure to do business with, and knows what he's doing with all aspects of his work.

Used Leydens for my mom. We met with Carter and Alana even though we did the minimum they made us feel welcome and important. They made it a safe place to cry and a lot of laughter and stories were shared. Carter was informative and made us feel safe with our decision. Alana has done a few follow up calls and checked on our experience she is always easy to talk to she made an unnatural conversation easier and made herself available for me to call when I had questions I will be recommending Leyden's and speaking about our experience during that hard time for a long time.

My dad passed away at home and when I contacted Leyden's to have them come pick up my dad the lady that answered was fantastic. She told me to take all the time we wanted with dad and to call when we were ready to have him pcked up. Our family had the pleasure of working with Megan (Funeral Director) when our dad passed away 3 weeks ago. She was so helpful and pleasant in helping to plan the funeral. I kept adding things and she responded very quickly and was able to accomadate everything I requested. I would recommend Leyden's to anyone.

Leyden’s took great care of our family during the loss of our father. The staff were friendly and looked after all our needs. The manager even stopped in during the arrangements and gave his condolences and talked with us about our father. Just a great experience during a difficult time. You can tell they really care.

I have yet to make an appointment to pick up my mothers ashes, But i felt i had to leave a review, Each time i called it was very late, expecting to get a voicemail instead a respectful understanding person answered and from the kind lady that answered to dale who i dealt with in person both made this difficult time so much easier with their dignified professional manner and respect for my mothers remains so thank you and i would recommend you to anyone in this tragic time of need.
