As you can see it has an average rating is quite high, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the rating is very reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they are satisfied, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to put scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Mortuary is classified in the category of Funeral home.
The funeral service for my mother could not have gone smoother. Edith in particular was incredibly attentive, understanding and worked very hard to make sure everything went as it should. Glenwood took all of the necessary precautions when it came to Co-vid 19 protocol and was very accommodating. I know that my mother's final resting place is in good hands.
When my wife’s only son passed away this past May, we struggled with the reality and decisions we had to make. After consulting with Duff and the team there at Glenwood, we decided a peaceful, park setting would be a beautiful resting place. Glenwood cemetery is a beautifully kept garden, where we felt confident that we could visit and chat for years to come (for eternity). The team at Glenwood were compassionate and very patient with every conversation, every painful decision. We commend the crew at Glenwood for their professional conduct, and their beautiful resting place. I would highly recommend Glenwood to families who wish to visit their loved one, 7 days a week, on their tranquil property. To be able to contemplate now on our subsequent revisits by walking the trails, has been soothing.
For bereaved individuals and families, the loss of a loved one may combine measures of shock, grief, and even trauma, depending upon the circumstances of the death. Making funeral arrangements quickly becomes a necessary, if unwelcome, event that cannot be postponed; yet will only be productive when pacing the progress of families as they move through the various steps of the consultation process. The funeral home industry is, after all, a business; yet there are unique circumstances that preclude dealing with their clients in an impersonal “businesslike” manner. What is wanted is a respectful, compassionate understanding of the emotional impact that such a loss has had – without descending into transparently facile displays of superficial sympathy. Which is where Duff Robison and Tabitha Pound come in; both of whom are employed at Glenwood Funeral Home and Cemetery, (where Duff is the Managing Director with decades of experience in the industry). The consultation process that takes place with bereaved families requires that a series of choices and decisions need to be made. Glenwood has simplified this by providing families with easily-read outlines of the necessary steps to be discussed. The skills and experience of these professionals is apparent in knowing how to move through this “list” while recognizing the pacing that each family requires in order to remain comfortable. In fact, opportunities to take time think over choices -- before making final decisions -- are welcomed. In our own family’s contacts with Tabitha and Duff, we were deeply impressed by, and grateful for, the compassion they demonstrated toward us in setting our funeral arrangements. We came away from our meetings with them feeling more settled and confident that the right choices were being made -- and this, by itself -- helped to moderate the sorrow we have felt losing our loved one.
Do NOT be distracted by the beauty in this property. Do NOT trust the Glenwood. We have had a terrible experience with the Glenwood. Their attention to detail and communication was beyond lacking. They plublished the wrong obituary on their website. Once that had been corrected, they went ahead and published the incorrect version in the newspaper. Their ability to duplicate our requrested "look" for our viewing did not meet our expectations. We also were not returned all of the items that were requested prior to cremation. Items that they told us would be returned. Our family suffered a great deal of stress over the details that were overlooked. In the saddest time of my life, I did not need these extra layers of devastation. I normally do not write google reviews- but I will be shouting this one from the rooftops for years to come.
Went to get information about where a family member was buried but apparently the hours of operation mean nothing since its 2 pm on Sunday and they are suppose to be open from noon until 5 but all doors are locked and nobody answers the door. Not impressed. Not sure how to reply. So here is my reply. We clearly seen the sign posted to redirect to the funeral home but that was locked Aswell and there was nobody inside the funeral home, Aswell as no cars for a funeral.
Nice plots. The people who work there are very friendly.
They need signs on the white mud east bound from the henday. This way more people can turn onto 232 north bound the first time. Especially since there is a new timed light intersection on whitemud & 232
My moms service was planned on May 14th and there is still no plaque on her gravesite and it is now June 26th. There was no mention of how long it would take to arrive when we planned everything. Once our bill was paid in full which was before her funeral the customer service went right out the door. Not one person has contacted us since. No one cared to see how the viewing/service went and if we were okay. The service was on Friday I emailed on Saturday but had to call on Tuesday due to the fact that no one responded. I just feel like they could've and should've done better. I think you should deal with the same individual throughout the entire process instead of whoever is working that day. I have received several emails asking for this review but not one follow up call. Something should be done about this. The only reason we chose Glenwood was because my grandparents and a lot of other family members are here. An update to this is they responded to my review on their website by calling 2x and asked me to call if I wanted to talk about this. They've just responded to my google review now (3 wks later) I'm not sure why I would at this point.
Caring and very professional service. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of.
place was nice. buried my aunt here a couple of months ago. however, when we went to visit last week the body and coffin was gone. no information was provided to where she had gone. miss her xoxo rip !
It's a very beautiful place
One of the best funeral service providers in the entire Provence of Alberta.
Edith, Neal and their teams were absolutely wonderful to work with and made everything so much easier for our family during this difficult time. They truly went above and beyond to make sure the funeral, burial, and everything was clear and easy for us to manage. We could not have done this without them. We feel so lucky to have found such a professional and compassionate group to work with. Highly recommended.
Glenwood Funeral Home & Cemetery staff handled my family member's passing in a very professional and dignified way. I love the beautiful and peaceful grounds of the cemetery and highly recommend this company.
Death is big business and these people are good at it.
Sarah Arnold and the rest of the team at Glenwood went sooo far above and beyond for us after the loss of my father in law. Everything was incredibly organized and they were so full of empathy and kindness during our difficult time. They made us feel comfortable and eased so much stress with the process. I wish Google offered more stars, cannot say enough good things about this funeral home. Sarah is personally responsible for giving me a lot of peace and contentment during our loss and I can't thank her beautiful spirit enough.
First of all, a beautiful, peaceful setting. Staff very helpful and make the whole process as easy as possible. We had arranged a short burial service because of COVID and invited only a few people. It was a rainy day, so the staff thoughtfully suggested doing the bulk of the service in the chapel. I had to identify my dad before burial and was so happy at how good he looked! My sister and I were prepared to stand in as pallbearers if necessary but a couple of the staff stepped in without being asked. Can’t thank them enough for all that was done under sad circumstances.
The sandwich platters include a nice selection of quality fillings and breads. The egg salad, in particular, was first rate.
Hands down the nicest kept cemetery in all Alberta The staff is not only extremely qualified but so nice. I couldn't have asked for a better crew to handle my loved ones. And I look forward to doing business with them again. Also shout out to the property for being genuine nice people. I love talking to those guys.
