Essential cremations was unfortunately one of the only cost effective options for basic cremations in Grande Prairie. After losing a family member, there was a potential for transportation to Edmonton where the cost of basic service is 1/4 of Grande Prairie. After speaking with both funeral homes in town, the cost is nearly $4000 for a standard cremation, leaving family members in a situation where out of pocket cost may be crippling financially. Essential prices their basic package at $2500 which is the amount of the federal death benefit. I met with Craig the funeral director who explained in every detail the process, and billing of the services provided. I was very impressed with their professionalism and simplicity. I was able to have my loved one transported from the hospital and cremated in a timely manner. Thank you for making a difficult time a little easier.
