I can't begin to tell you how much having Travis and his team support us through the loss of our dear Jennifer meant to us. The attention to detail, to her personality, to our wishes and to our own emotions, left us feeling cared for and attended to in such a personal manner. Our requests were a bit different, because Jenn loved snow and Christmas, so we wanted trees and lights and snowflakes, so not only did they support our quirkiness, they added to it with their own trees. Travis also made sure there were paper snowflakes at the cemetery for each of us to write a note or our name on, before placing it in the niche with her ashes. It doesn't get better than that. We lost our Mother in June of 2018 in Lethbridge hospital. She lived in Cardston and was a very devout member of the LDS church. Cremation is relatively new to the LDS and for our family, but Cornerstone Funeral Home did an excellent job taking care of all particulars in a very respectful and reverent manner including the knowledge of and accommodating the family with special requests before cremation. I live in BC, so especially appreciated how helpful, expedient and positive they were with their advice and handling details by email and phone. When we finally met in person at the Funeral Home I was very impressed with all the staff and the service on site. The Service & Program packages were excellent quality and a fair price. They did a fantastic job of creating just the right photo collage and wording for the programs. We held our own Celebration of Life for our Mother, but I am confident if we had the full funeral with Cornerstone they would have done a fantastic job of it. I would highly recommend Cornerstone Funeral Home and give them 5 stars. In the last couple of months I had to cremate and put my Mother to rest. In what was the darkest time of my life, Cornerstone Funeral Home guided and comforted me in countless ways. Professional from the start they shouldered much of the initial burden, and the aftercare was also amazing due to myself not knowing what steps to take...Cornerstone guided me with a plan to deal with the aftermath of a deceased family member. I was alone, and they were the only light at the end of the tunnel for me. Every staff member I dealt with was extremely professional, and if anyone is looking for someone to help with the loss of a family member, this is the place to choose. Trish and Douglas were incredibly professional, and knew exactly how to handle the situation, which was dire. A huge Thank You to them, and the rest of the staff. We used them for my Aunt and my Mother. I will use Cornerstone for my own services when the time comes. As someone who has put numerous family members to rest, using multiple funeral homes, this is my first choice. My husband, sister-in-law and I would like to express our sincere appreciation for how Ralph Zentner handled my father-in-law's details. At first we were all nervous as we had no idea what to expect, and probably more on a "careful" watch as we had heard so many horrible experiences of what people had gone through, at other funeral homes, and how they had been charged for things that were not necessary. My husband expressed his concerns, and Ralph was very understanding and put us all at ease right away, by telling us that if there is anything that we are unsure about to please ask questions. And he made us feel that all of our questions were important. He truly felt for us and wanted to help us in the best way possible. He cared about what we were going through and never pressured us into anything. He let us know what was available and gave us the privacy to make our choices. He also gave us an opportunity to make a choice in viewing the body prior to cremation. I didn't think that this was necessary because we had just seen my father-in-law in the hospital the day before and were all with him when he passed away. I had heard about how expensive this can be and really didn't think that it was necessary. However my sister-in-law wanted to view the body and so did my husband. We were able to do this without a charge. Ralph explained how this would be done, and we all agreed that we would do this. It was so tastefully done, that I don't think I have the words to express what this meant to me personally. We were directed to their Chapel and there was the body of my father-in-law laying on a table that was draped with a dark blue sheet, he was in his hospital gown just as we had seen him the day before, and a matching dark blue sheet over him. It was placed down at the front, and the back drop was a beautiful stain glassed picture of a tree (very calming). He looked so peaceful, and it was just so perfectly done, I couldn't believe what this meant to me personally as I never thought that it was necessary but was I ever wrong. It was like we were having our own personal viewing as we were not having a service for him at this time; so this was just so perfect. I was just sobbing, and it was very good for all 3 of us. We took pictures and will forever remember this time that we had. We really needed this as I realized while we were at the hospital and going through the end of life, we were in a "dream like state", just going through the motions and not really absorbing what was going on. Then when it was over, there was the need to notify everyone. So I am very thankful that this was offered to us, and I would seriously advise anyone that if you ever have a wonder if you should view a body prior to cremation; please do yourself a favor and do it. The body does not have to be dressed, and put in a casket... that is not necessary. But ask about being able to do it this way and you will be so glad you did. I cannot thank Ralph enough for the way that they did this for us. I promised him that I would be writing in a review to express what this meant to me, and now I have finally done that, I feel good about it. If I could, I would give 10 stars. Thank you so much Ralph, for your tender kindness to us, and explaining the costs of everything and going through every detail. You are definitely in the right type of work for your sincerity shows in your actions. An early morning phone call to a funeral home ultimately means that a loved one has passed away. I called July 17, 2019 at 6:30 a.m., spoke with Travis and the attendants were at St. Mikes to pick up mom, within the hour of speaking with Travis. Prior to mom passing away, I had met with Doug to make make funeral arrangements for both my parents. He as well, took very good care of our needs as a family. I also met with Patricia and she was extremely helpful getting all the paperwork that needed to be completed once a loved one had passed away.
