Recently in need of this service, I was pleased to find Capital City Cremation. It was very easy to make the arrangements and affordable. The staff was very considerate at this difficult time.

Though I realize at this price there is not the personal attention that a funeral home gives BUT... my Mum died on the 23 of April. When my father called about the remains on May 2 he was told they were ready and someone would try to drop them off on Friday the 3 or the following Monday. Waited the weekend, they came on Monday the 6th. On the cremation certificate we see that she was cremated on May 28.... this long of a wait for the return of cremated remains is not acceptable especially when family called about them and they were ready! I had also called about how to take the remains on a plane for travel, and was told they would have to be in the black plastic container.... yet the remains were dropped off IN THE URN. I had to travel out to get the basic container along with a marker which they kindly did not charge me for. This company could benefit from better internal communication!! There is NO reason family should have to wait an extra week for their loved one's remains. At arrangement time we asked for drop off yet they seemed surprised when I asked on the phone. NOT impressed.

The staff are amazing. Thoughtful, helpful and truly kind. Very inexpensive but great customer service. Would/will recommend to anyone needing a loved one cremated, without breaking the bank. All documents are included and no unexpected costs. The whole process done by phone and internet made for quick and efficient service. The whole process only took 3 days.

Capital City Cremations has helped me on 2 occasions within 2 years. Their approach to these unfortunate times has been professional, respectful and completely free of the B.S. that has plagued this industry in the past. They are totally up-front with what they offer, and there are no hidden fees, last minute add-ons or any surprises of any sort. And their (in-person!) help with the paperwork was absolutely invaluable. The funeral business has gained a reputation of of preying on people when they are at their most vulnerable, and I was in that exact situation with my Mom's "pre-paid" service with a different company. They were trying to charge many thousands of dollars for services that my Mother thought had already been taken care of. However before I paid, a friend told me about Capital City Cremations. I immediately cancelled Mom's "pre-paid" arrangement and got everything taken care of for a small fraction of what the other company was trying to charge (reminder - this was a supposed "pre-paid" arrangement). I highly recommend Capital City Cremations, and I am extremely grateful for everything they have done for me and my family.

Their overall process was pretty straightforward. Staff are nice and polite. Jenna was very helpful. They brought my sister's remains to me as I had a difficult time with schedule because my husband just had an operation. Price was reasonable overall. The person who brought my sister's remains (Lito) was very professional and came in spite of the heavy snow that day. I highly recommend this company

If you are looking for a respectful and professional experience, Then look elsewhere.... We had a unexpected passing in the family...We made all the arrangements for my son , wanting his ashes divided into 3 payed for the extra urns. When my older son went to pick ashes up they were in 1 urn and death certificate in the box.. I stated to have paper work sent to me as I live out of province, they told my older son he needed these to transport the ashes ... not true . I also called to reconfirm the following week that they were to split the ashes and to send all paper work to me .. I also wanted to view my son and was told that I would have to embalm him first before they would allow this .. why would you embalm someone who is being cremated , oh wait because that's a extra 600.00 .. so very un professional, when we called to ask why they didn't split the ashes , they said because we didn't pay for that . Well the receipt sent to us says clearly we did ... please don't deal with this company so disrespectful people are morning their loved ones and to them you are all about the cash .. Still have not recieved a care package with all my paper work ... A very hurt mother this is how my last experience for my son will be imprinted on my heart
