You will see the reviews of people who purchase the products and services of Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain (Massage Therapist) in Watson Lake (Canada).
At this moment this business has a rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 and this score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is really positive, and it is based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the evaluation is quite accurate. If people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

December 30th 2021 / we've been here before and know what to expect. I did find it completely underwhelming to have three security personnel (Men In Black) just simply stand around and watch people. I felt uneasy and my wife said "do you feel weird these guys being here?" I said I felt the same way, especially this one tall guy with black hair that seemed to do nothing but stand around with his hands in his pockets. It was impossible to relax as I felt I had to look over my shoulder wondering where the jackboots were. Last time we went, there was barely any staff outside, which was great since we felt like we were "away." This time felt like a concentration camp. We drove 200km one way just to relax our minds. What we got was way more anxiety. Furthermore, explain the logic in being inside a packed dry sauna with NO mask...to being in a sitting room ALONE and being told to wear a mask. How does that make any sense at all? I was assured by staff that I wasn't the first one to be upset about this (read the other reviews). Also, these EXACT SAME ISSUES have been going on for at least a year. Passing this on to your Operations Team hasn't and isn't going anything different. I was given a card with Mark's (?) name if I wanted to share my experience and I also spoke with another co owner. I realize that as a business owner, you have to work within the parameters you've been given. But sometimes logic has to be the voice of reason. Three security (or maintenance) for a four acre space seems unreasonable. If you're paying people to stand around, your business model might be flawed. Especially when it's causing discomfort to not only to me, but to others that have posted here.
Book early. The secret is out and it gets booked up FAST! Amazing experience and attentive staff
This is a place to zone out and let your mind be free. The hot tubs followed by the cold plunge are an amazing experience specifically in a winter night. Highly recommend to give this place a visit if you are in the area.
If you want to enter in the morning, from 8:00 they take your name and call you to check in. We arrived at 8 and we got in at 9:15. Don't forget to bring your own rob because they charge you for 12$ to rent the rob. The Towel in included. Bring your bottle of water to ensure not to dehydrate. If you have fun with your friends, it's not a proper place because in this Spa you have to be silent, silent and silent. I love it to spend one day just relax and relax. Being in night is more beautiful rather than in the morning. The food is not very good just they have some snacks.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Serenity and relaxing calmness at it's best. Purchase a massage package to guarantee a booking and avoid headache wait lines just for the baths. Get a massage receipt as per your ins. Comes with an in house tea, tea canister for home and a Scandinave water bottle or mug of your choosing. Enjoy!
Dear MANAGEMENT, please, I beg you to PAY ATTENTION to your website. Making a reservation on the site - just destroyed all my nerve cells. Your site is very inconvenient and incomprehensible. Also, it is not userfriendly on the phone. Thank you.
Had a great time at the Spa, my wife and I each had a massage and enjoyed the baths. I would have rated it higher however, we had a couple of unpleasant experiences with one of the staff, Evelyn. Upon arrival, Evelyn checked me in. My mask had unknowingly slipped under my nose and Evelyn scolded me! I thought fair enough, we all have to be careful in these times. Once done I was told to go shower before the baths. Evelyn again rudely told me to be sure to wear my mask at all times and during massage. First of all my wife and I both work in health care and know the importance of PPE. I let the rudeness go and enjoyed the spa. A week later we called the spa to discuss what we thought was a discrepancy with our bill and who did I get on the phone... Evelyn, what luck!! Evelyn was short with me on the phone and ready to hang up before I could explain our situation! Evelyn is down right rude and borderline ruins what was an otherwise a relaxing day at the spa.
Worth the money. Experience was way beyond expectations. Literally fell asleep during the massage. Hot/cold dips were helpful with in btw sauna. Due to covid sauna sections are closed.
Very pretty place - just wish they would've limited the amount of people in the spa during covid. Visited on the weekend and every bath was at max capacity, as well as most of the relaxation spots. I assumed since reservations were required that they would be monitoring the amount of people but didn't seem like it. Super clean and very friendly. Will give it another try once covid (hopefully) passes.
Amazing experience for couples, our second time going here. The no phone and no chat zones are amazing. Massage was also very good not just petting. Great place to relax and clear up your mind from the city live. Not cheap but worth it.
Nice large hot tube pools surrounded by the scenery of nature. Pools vary in temperature ranging from warm to cold. The estate was smaller then expected. Calming music is played throughout very low for relaxation purposes. They are very strict on noise so conversations must be low and kept to a minimum in order to respect the tranquility of the other guest The facility is very clean. They are visibly very vigilant with there cleaning routine which is very comforting. Employees are very helpful and friendly. Overall, although this activity was a bit pricey, I would still return in the future and recommend it to others. I would highly suggest bringing a water bottle on your visit.
Such a beautiful spa! We did the baths and we were surprised by how many different pools relax rooms and saunas there were. The cold plunge is definitly cold but worth it. Wait time was fine going in (9am) and coming out at noon there seemed to be a small wait. Very polite staff. Very quiet the no talking rule is pretty big. Changerooms were amazing. Would recommend to rent a robe it does get chilly moving pool to pool. Lovely place!
Wonderful option for a peaceful treat just by yourself or a friend or partner. During covid some amenities are closed which is disappointing but understandable. Bring your own footwear for poolside and water bottles.
Went. Loved it. Want to go again and again and again... One thing to note is that there is a huge flaw with the robes - they're all the same colour (white) and there is barely enough room for them to be hung up near any of the baths. By the time we were exiting the first one, someone had already (likely by accident) stolen our robes... Leaving us robeless the entire day.
We had an excellent experience at the Scandinave Spa. We enjoyed the saunas, steam room and the heated & cold pools. Friendly and helpful staff, everything was clean as a whistle. We recognise that the spa focuses on providing a peaceful experience, but we would ask Management to consider have some 'social' days inserted into the calendar, where the quiet policy is suspended. Laughter and conversation are not an anathema to the spa experience.
Great place to spend a few hours soaking in hot baths, saunas and steam rooms. The wait time during peak season can be quite long. They have twitter updates so if you are planning to go, do check first as they do fill up on capacity pretty quickly. My friends and I, knowing this got there at 8am to get on waitlist on a Saturday morning. They were letting people in at that time, so early accesses are probably easier. To ensure a spot, you should book a massage appointment and they can guarantee 1 other guest can enter with you. The steam bath was our favourite. Skin definitely felt smoother after 2 - 3 sessions of hot and cold baths, saunas and just chilling in relaxation rooms. Note that if you are planning some sort of group thing, they have a strict policy regarding "silence" in the entire spa, so keep that in mind if you are planning a larger group gathering.
Very peaceful place. It was a great experience in the pool and hammock space. Discounted rates during Covid. Would definitely go back
I book massage with a request for female masseuse, which was not the case when I arrived. I was told by employee that I should request it and I insisted that I did. When they open my reservation, it was confirmed that I did request it, and than I was told that they missed it. Than I was told that I would be charged only for baths which I did not use it. At the end they did give me full refund. I gave them option to reschedule any time on Mon or Tue, but was told that it was fully booked. I wasted couple of hours and they send me home with big sorry. For the prices the spa should be run with more professional team, probably with lack of competition they get away with it. I have been number of times in Scandinavian at Mont Tremblant and I would highly recommend that location.
Nice place for a girls spa day. The bath area could be kept a bit cleaner especially considering the price. I would also recommend them getting a better system in place for the robe rentals; my robe along with my sisters’ got taken by …
I’ve been going to this spa for over 12 years. I believe they have become victims to their own popularity. On my most recent visit one of the larger hot pools was not functioning due to maintenance issues. This created a very crowded situation at the other remaining hot pools. Even without the overcrowding from the pool issue, this place seems to cram too many people in to be enjoyable. It’s no longer a relaxing area with the quantity of people allowed in at once. Other things I’ve noticed from my latest visit. The staff outside were doing active pool cleaning as we sat relaxing. We had the pool skimmer all around us, inches from our faces as we sat there. Can this not wait until customers are out of the pool? Not my idea of a good way to promote relaxation. The other work they were completing during prime hours were loud and disruptive. The final thing I have to add is the level of silence. Even with signs everywhere telling guests they must keep quiet, individuals and groups feel the need to gab and disrupt the enjoyment of others. Staff stood by and refused to act on this by reminding them of the rules. Staff members were within ear shot every time guests got very loud but stood by without correcting the problem. I’ve recently experienced other similar outdoor spas and they function so much better without the above mentioned issues. If this is the direction the Collingwood spa is going I’ll no longer be interested in going and suggesting alternatives to my friends and staff to avoid the same frustrations.
Beautiful day - went for a Friends Birthday. Upon arrival, they provided instructions and directions - very organized. Once at the pool deck, it was fun to slip into the warm water and feel the stress drain away. Into the different steam rooms, sauna's and back into the pool was amazing. Having worked our way to staying in the COLD pool for over 90 sec's was the highlight of the day. Such a great experience... Will definately go back
Perfect atmosphere, incredible customer service, and the most enjoyable time! The spa is clean and extremely well maintained. Bring a picnic or enjoy the cafe in the spa for a light lunch. Towel, robe & locker are included in your visit. Showers are available for after your stay, along with lotion and blow dryers. I love having a book, large water bottle in a tote bag that I can bring around the spa to enjoy between the baths.
After booking a month in advance and anticipating the use of its relaxation amenities to the fullest, my girlfriend and I were unexpectedly told on arrival that the eucalyptus steam room was closed. The customer rep told us that the steam room was down since the night before and that they were ‘hoping’ that it would be fixed (which it was not). The steam room was one of the main reasons we took the 2.5 hour drive up to Blue, so at the very least a courtesy email/call or website update communicating it’s closure would have been appreciated. We would have saved this trip up for another time or even refunded it for the time being. Instead we were left with the difficult decision to stay due to the long drive. Sub-par experience indeed and not what we paid full price for.
Highly recommend it. If you want to get away from the gta, get a chalet in blue mountain and spend a day at this spa. Bring a girl with you and she will never forget this experience.
Just a dream, one of the places my wife and I love you escape to! The customer service is second to none!
Such a beautiful getaway. This is my favourite place to visit. All the stress just melts away
A wonderful relaxing outdoor spa but the price of the baths experience has gone up from $55 - $85 (54% increase for a lesser experience) as a result of COVID. Hopefully, the prices will improve with the Vetta Nordic Spa opening in the area.
Very relaxing in a beautiful setting. We spent some time in the pools and sauna, had a pleasant lunch, and then a bit more spa before ending our stay. Loved the steam room. Marked down one star because: 1) the electronic locker did not work, and it took the staff a while to offer me another RFID bracelet so that I could open another locker 2) towels were a bit thin and scratchy 3) two of the men's toilets were filthy which was a surprise because everything else was clean.
They are always too snobby on the phone. Once I had to call them to ask if they have any cancellations/last minute openings for the next couple of weeks. I DO know they usually are booked months in advance, but my friend managed to book something the day before for the long weekend since someone cancelled. That does happen. Would think that asking them that questions would not hurt. Nope, the response was very snobby: "we get booked 4 months in advance" and "why are you even bothering us" was heavily implied. They would not even work with me or really answer my questions. Left a bad taste in my mouth. And I got a very snobby response to my call during a different time too when I was inquiring about a booking a couple of months in the future, so I think that's just how they roll. Very drastic difference from their Quebec location, Mont Tremblant agents were so nice on the call and willing to answer my questions. As for the massage itself at Blue Mountain, I did not enjoy it. The spa itself is nice, but much smaller than QC one. I do like the music that starts playing once you walk from the parking lot. Their automatic locks are a nice touch too. One positive thing, is that during the visit itself, there was no snobbism from any of the people we've interacted with. It only seem to be a problem over the phone.
Book a spa treatment and get access to tje baths. There are a variety of different pools at a variety of different temperatures. Currently the sauna and steam room are closed
It's quite nice but not opulent or pretentious. I highly recommend following their 'Hydrotherapy' regimen, which is 10-15 minutes of hot (pool or various saunas), followed by 30-120 seconds of immersion in a cold pool, and ending with a 10-15 minute spell in one of their 'neutral' rooms. Yes, the hot/cold is shocking to your system but that's the point. Repeat several times. After several hours you're a new person!
Absolutely beautiful setting. Breathtaking really but the service was far below an expected standard. There are signs everywhere to hydrate but no water is available other than to purchase. Really? That is quite a basic. Renting a robe? The $12 is not really an issue but it s feels super petty. The problem is maybe overlooked by management. Seeing white robes and matching slippers gives a lux, clean feel. Seeing someone in their 10 year old Blue Jays robe and ratty Nike flip flops definitely takes away from the spa experience. It is a one time only visit for me. Oh and the shushing from the men in black, when no one is loud at all, feels ominous and sad.
I normally love it here but going during the pandemic is not worth the money since you cannot use any of the indoor facilities like Sauna, steam rooms, hang out spaces, etc. You really can only use about half of what they have to offer. I think they should offer a temporary discount to make up for such a large portion of the facility being closed. Otherwise it's very clean, fun, relaxing and the staff are profesional and polite.
Disappointing:( The staff was rude, the food is poor. Our rented robes were soaked and we asked to do an exchange for dry and they said no. It was very cold that day. Sad to see how it has gone down hill so quickly.
If you need a quick detachment from life, this is the perfect place to come and relax. Best place to relax and the staff are amazing and on top of things. Only downside is that they don't have walk-ins, massage bookings are nearly impossible to get unless booking months in advance. Otherwise, a peaceful and great experience every time we go! Worth the money.
It was lovely our second time and we’ll keep coming back. Unwind in the tranquillity at the heart of nature @ Scandinavian spa ????????♀️ helped restore our sense of well being .. ????????♀️ ????
I went to this place to relax from all the stress. The spa was ok and I enjoyed it. front desk employees were nice and helpful. My only terrible experience I would say was the massage. I have had allergy for two weeks now, my entire body itches back, legs arms and neck from the lotion that was used on me. I don’t even have allergies and I would have mentioned my allergies if I had any. I always had massage before in other places with oils, but this time was with so called a "massage lotion" my body reacted terribly to that lotion.
My husband & I came here for our one year anniversary. We each had a massage & followed it up with the baths. Such a relaxing experience!
The spa is smaller than I thought from looking at pictures. I usually go to spas globally and I was expecting different type of pools (floral, algae, etc) but it’s just hot and cold pools with some steam rooms and sauna rooms (just multiple …
Been here a couple of times for the baths. They definitely improved the walk-in process so you don't have to wait in line outside for an hour+. You can go and leave your name for a specific timeslot you want to get in for. Baths and the saunas are nice and enjoyable, and food is delicious and at a good price.
It was my first time coming to the spa and it was definitely worth the experience. We spent 4 hours there. …
Very relaxing. We'll laid out areas. We enjoyed the fires, the hammocks and loved the baths!
Just so you know, their Bistro is open but you can't eat or even do takeout unless it is within your reservation time. The Bistro isn't listed on their website and after calling to see if it was open, the staff member didn't mention this important detail. The attendant at the outdoor proof of vaccine booth accused me of lying about phoning to inquire about the Bistro and offered zero suggestions on where to purchase a quick lunch. Also, at least six people were unmasked in the change room. They need to monitor this area much better.
We arrived after a more than 2 hours drive, while being in the baths in total for max 45 minutes (and not even being able to use any sauna facility), we were send out due to an electricity shortage. We received a refund for the day, but no compensation whatsoever for taking half day off + all the driving. As well as I had a recent loss of a relative which made me in an extremely high needed mental health break. Which I still did not have due to this. I have explained my situation multiple times over email as well that I have proof to provide, and they were not willing to offer any type of compensation. Not even a discount for a future visit!! Therefore really bad service. Eventhough I understand it was out of their control and mother nature, that does not make up at all for the distress and huge inconvenience and still lots of money loss that we had due to this! Therefore I would definitely not recommend it here. A refund for just entrance does not make up anything....
This is a fantastic getaway in Collingwood. We have visited a number of times and always enjoyed our visit. The pools are incredible, the eucalyptus steam room is a particular highlight, and relaxing by the fire pits or laying in the Sun is delightful for most of the year. I have gotten a massage here before, and while it was very good it was also quite expensive. Give yourself at least a few hours to enjoy the circuit.
A few days ago , I visited their website and I created an account and I followed the orders , I added myself as a member and then I added my wife and then I proceeded to check out based on their reservation table and the confusing point was (reservation for one slot ) and not for one person which made me confused . Next day , we went there , driving for 2hrs from Toronto to blue mountain and at the reception , they explained to me that you have paid for just one person and we cannot allow your wife because there isn't any slots available and all have been reserved , and when I asked them to at least allow my wife to stay in their restaurant while I am using the spa , they didn't accept and just asked me if I wanted a refund, whereas their indoor salon was empty and based on covid-19 protocols , it was clearly possible to let my wife stay indoor with her mask on her face . this kind of behavior is not acceptable and I don't recommend this place to anyone
Highly recommended!! A beautiful place to get away and relax. Can't wait to return! (If there.. Remember not to save the chairs and hubs. Sharing is caring. ????)
I think visiting in the winter in snowy days is the best time to go to the Scandinavian Spa, It is a lovely place with different pools and saunas to energize and relax your body and soul. Negatives Points. 1- Long waiting list, We had to register at 3 PM and were told it is a 4-5 hours waiting time, So I recommend you register as early as possible. 2- Not enough hangers for towels and robes. 3- As a result, of the lack of hangers and hooks for your towels and robes, people are getting confused and some would just take your towel and/or robe and leave with them. 4- Lack of knowledge, a lot of visitors had no idea what to do. Recommendations, 1- Have your robe with you for sure not white. 2- Have your own reusable water bottle with you. 3- I advise strongly to educate your self on the use of Sauna before visiting. 4- Hat or head-cover would be nice to have in the Sauna and in pools in winter.
Went here for the Scandinavian bath. Didn’t had to wait too long as we went in the evening. The place is perfect for a romantic getaway. The ambience and the staffs were great, however I think they could ease down on the phone usages policies.
DURING COVID REVIEW: I was nervous to go during the pandemic, and was not happy people did not need to be double vaccinated to attend the spa, but wanted to give it a try. The capacity limits made me more comfortable, and I hope a reduced capacity is here to stay. There was plenty of space, it was extra quiet, and no one was hogging the chairs etc. The food was disappointing, not much for what money was spent. PRE COVID REVIEW: I The spa is beautiful and right in the middle of the woods so its a gorgeous backdrop also. The facilities were nice and clean. I found the spa was great, but some of the patrons put me off. It seemed like people were really hogging some of the areas, savings seats, and a lot of staring. My sister and I went together and felt so uncomfortable. The environment was not very welcoming, which is a shame because the place is stunning. Not much they can do about rude people visiting the spa.
We got there at 7:45 am since only guests with scheduled massages were guatenteed entry and they only take a limited amount of walk-ins. We were told nobody was allowed on the grounds until 8 am. At 8 am a hostess took our names and told us …
I've been trying to come to this spa since last year but there has been some difficulties with closure due to COVID and other restrictions, etc. After consistently checking the availability and with the spa finally opening, I was able to book a reservation for November 27 in the evening. After all the excitement and even trying to come to the spa in early 2019 but not being able to get in because it was too busy, I would say that this Scandinavian spa is over hyped. It is a smaller spa compared to other Scandinavian spas and I feel it is way too over priced... for 2 people it was about $200, not to mention we were shocked right at the entrance because you have to pay $27 extra for 2 people if you want a robe and towels.. This should be mentioned by the spa, so people are aware and have the option whether they want to bring their own robes and towels. Overall, the spa is nice and relaxing but over priced and way too over hyped. For the price you would think that the water in the hot bath would actually be clean... workers standing around the spa not doing anything, should at least make sure the water is clean. Lastly, the bistro shouldn't close early on a Saturday evening when people are still at the spa.
The place is fantastic and beautiful. Is so unique and all services are perfect. The only issue that bothered us was the security personnel who were all around us and watching and annoying customers at all time. They banned customers from taking pictures as an excuse of people privacy but unfortunately they Spoil our privacy by watching and warning us all the time.
Always a nice place to get a massage and relax in the pools and saunas. A quiet place to reflect with friends and significant others. If you’re planning a trip, definitely book a massage ahead of time to claim RMT through insurance.
Great spa experience! Recommend to experience it during Nov/Dec when it’s the ideal temperature outside. Too many people on the day we went. Walk-in (even pre-COVID) is not a great idea.
I came here during December and it was a snowy late evening and it was very charming to be in the hot baths with snow falling on top. Great experience !
Lovely getaway! Nice, quiet area surrounded by trees. Great COVID safety procedures and approachable and helpful staff. The facilities are extremely clean and luxurious. The water bottles we got made really cute keepsakes. Got a massage while I was there and it was fantastic. Overall the perfect place to disconnect and unwind.
Great idea to get away to a relaxing spa day. Love the concept of hot and cold therapy. Trick is to get a massage or treatment booked so that the pools are included in your visit. Really recommend booking in advance. Only an hour from the city.
I really enjoyed the experience. We were not allowed to take photos inside so I only have an outdoor photo. Staff was friendly and the massage was good. The one thing I noticed was that it was a bit of a cattle call at massage time. For the price I do think the experience could have been improved. The baths were great. Enjoyed the experience and found it very relaxing. I do think that the quiet experience could be enforced a little more strongly in the steam rooms as people were pretty loud. All in all, good experience.
I couldn't really find any reviews that touch on what to expect in poor weather, so I thought I'd write one. I booked about a month in advance, so I was super disappointed the morning of when I realized it was going to pour rain the entire day. I tried calling to see if I could reschedule, but ended up bailing on the call after being on hold for a bit. I'm SO glad I didn't cancel. Honestly the rain didn't impact my stay at all. When you're in the baths, you can hardly even notice the rain, and if anything it creates a lovely cool contrast. I just made sure I kept a towel in my locker for after so I would have a dry one. There's plenty of space inside to relax, and the saunas/steam rooms are all indoors anyway. A staff member even offered to get me a bag for my book so it didn't get wet. The only thing I didn't really get to enjoy were the hammocks and fire pits. If you're thinking of cancelling because of the weather, don't! I promise you'll still have a great time.
I went with my boyfriend for a couples massage. We had both expected the massages to be deeper and really focusing on the spots we had trouble with. We also both experienced different spots for our massages ( one focused more on my feet and his focused more on his shoulders). The massage therapist didn't ask me anything relating to the strength/pressure I can take. During the massage, I had to tell her that I want it to be harder. No change. The whole time I felt that someone was just rubbing my body with massage oil. I didn't feel any pressure at all. It's a total waste of time and money. For my first massage ever I was so disappointed. I’m so unhappy that I spent so much money at this place. It is not worth it. Also I am extremely unhappy because my coat was stolen from there. I had hung it up with other jackets ( Canada goose TNA, etc). Staff made me feel like I was a burden for telling them that my coat was missing and filling out a form regarding my item that was stolen. Staff did not check in on me or ask if there was something more they could do. I do understand that they are not responsible for lost or stolen items but it would’ve been nice for them to be apologetic and tried to have gone out of their way to care. Not a very good first impression leaving this place. I would not recommend it to anyone. I did not feel welcomed at all from the moment I stepped into the spa. Staff did not seem friendly or happy to be there. For a place you come to relax we did not feel that way at all. Extremely disappointed for a place many speak greatly about.
The perfect place to relax and unwind from the stresses of life. It’s clean and quiet and beautiful to just be in the spas.
Great selection and maintenance of ammentiies; baths, saunas, steam room were all clean and well kept. The various temperatues for baths and suanas were great. Relaxation spots indoors were nice and outdoor summer spots were also great. No mosquito bites even though we were near the marsh. Towel exchange and "food"+beverage were upstairs. A nuisance to go inside and upstairs to exchange towel or indulge in a drink. The food was bus terminal food and not in line with Scandinavean theme, and seating was like a cold food court. What a shame for such beautiful facilities to have such poorly thought out and dissapointing services. It really detracted from the experience.
Scandinavian is one of our favourite places to relax. Even during covid they are doing a great job at keeping social distance in effect, very clean and also not busy at all. You need to book in advance or else when you get there you’ll have to be out on a wait list. Visited as recent as Sep 1, 2021
Reminded me a tiny bit of the blue lagoon!!! Super relaxing, great decor and service. Absolutely adore the steam room, the aroma is wonderful...skin felt super soft and plumped the next day. Haha...had so much fun plunging into the cold waterfall ????
We booked a couples massage for my anniversary and when we got to the waiting lounge we were told we may not be able to get our service as some water work down the street affected the building's water supply. After a few minutes, we were informed business was running on hour to hour basis, depending on the water situation, but we got our massage. After our massage, the water was just starting to come back and we made our way to the baths. The steam rooms and sauna did not seem to be working, possibly affected by the lack of water, as there was no steam and was not even warm. We got a cup of tea, a choice of water bottle or mug and a tin of tea to take home with our package.
Who: a couple When: Tuesday (February) What: Baths We decided to end our anniversary weekend at the Scandinave Spa. We tried to call 2 weeks ahead to make an appointment for a massage, however, this was way to short notice. We were told that reservations open approximately 4 months in advance and fill up very quickly. We even called ahead to see if there was any cancellations for the day. Regardless, based on other reviews, we showed up around 8:30, the doors didn't open until 8:45, and we were only 1 of 2 parties that were there. Once we paid, we were able to sit in the cafeteria area until they notified us that the bath's were opened (around 9:15). There were 3 large heated baths, 2 cold baths, 2 saunas, 1 steam room. Although there was ample space a room, around 10:30 is when the baths got significantly more busy. We imagine, this was because all the folks who had Massage Appointments were now let out and able to take advantage of the baths. The facilities were great, the people friendly, and we both left feeling very relaxed.
The ambience in the place is amazing... Serene calm and relaxing. It's a great place for couples or a group of friends. I was a skeptic about the hot and cold concept being relaxing but this place made me a believer.
Very tranquil and relaxing place to unwind. If you can avoid the weekends, would suggest it as it gets busy. The steam room is my favourite.
So relaxing!! Went on a Thursday at 10:30am and it was perfect. We were checked in within 5 minutes and it wasn't super busy. There was a wait list by noon though. Facilities and spas are all really clean. The eucalyptus steam is awesome. It's even better if you're in there when the steam goes off. It's crazy loud but get so warm and relaxing!! We also had lunch, which was decently priced and nice and light. Would absolutely return!
The baths are decent. This is not my first time here but this time the water had way too much chlorine. What hot springs with fresh water??? I don't have sensitive skin and my skin started aching 15 minutes after I left the baths. I took a shower and next day I could still smell some chlorine... while it is relaxing, I'm not going again during COVID times...
Great ambience. Low levels of hospitality. Well maintained however it would be best if those with long hair are provided with a hair net. I was here on a birthday treat and quite unsure if I could make in because there isnt any option to prebook or reserve slots. I had only seen ads on this spa and had been wanting to go to experience the feel. There really wasnt anybody to offer clean towels after each dip nor could I find a spot to pick new ones from. The only towel and robe I got on entering is all I used till the end making sure nobody picked mine by accident while I left it to hang beside the pool. Honestly for the price it isnt all that much of a luxury treatment. But one can expect to sleep like a log after the service.
November 8th, 2021; I booked two baths, and only when I received the confirmation email via text did I realize that they are mandating Covid 19 proof of vaccination. An outdoor health and wellness retreat that is mandating experimental MRNA gene therapy created by pharmaceutical industries, gene therapy vaccines that are causing health problems worldwide. I’m beyond shocked and disgusted. There are cancer patients and people who live holistic, natural lifestyles that rely on coming to this spa for their health & wellness, that they have completed cut off with their mandate. Every business can create their own Covid 19 vaccine policy and Scandinave Spa could have kept their policy as proof of vaccination for indoor dining only, but they chose to take it a step further and mandate it for a their entire HEALTH AND WELLNESS OUTDOOR RETREAT. I’m boycotting Scandinave Spa as well as many others who have done the same through word of mouth and will continue to grow. Watch your sales drop. Look elsewhere if you are against these tyrannical mandates folks, and look elsewhere if you’re choosing not to take this experimental gene therapy. Thermea Spa in Whitby is opening up this Spring and they will certainly win over customers with their Holistic & Natural approach as well as their breathtaking facilities. Scandinavian Spa - you are single handedly participating in medical genocide & segregation/discrimination piggybacking on the guise of tyrannical “public health” and control. Shame on you.
Amazing experience! This place offers plenty of hot and cold outdoor pools, steam and dry saunas, a lovely eucalyptus steam room, and a few relaxation station in between the pools with cozy furniture and a variety of magazines. There is usually a lineup/waiting list so I'd recommend getting there early in the morning (between 9-10am) so that you can spend at least a few hours in the spa. It is a good idea to get robes as it can get pretty cold. The spa staff recommended that we do 15min cycles: hot pool, cold pool, sauna, steam room, relax, repeat. There is a nice lounge area near the reception with a small cafe where you can purchase soups, sandwiches, snacks, drinks, etc.
Used to be one of my favorite spas. Now... the vibe is gone. Settings are nice enough but due to covid most of the facilities are closed and prices have almost doubled in the last 2 years. At $90 for 2-3 hours in the pools.... Also they now how "enforcers" walking around the site in rain jackets to shush a few groups that I couldnt even hear speaking and they were across from me. I get that safety protocols need to be followed but enforcing could be done in a different way. Have 6 people pacing and giving all the guests side eye was tense, it didnt feel like a relaxing spa experience at all.
The spa is well situated in a serene setting. The big thing about this place is the ability to relax in the hot water. I was unable to do this because of the prickly, rough seating in every pool. It hurt my skin and damaged my swimsuit. Unacceptable!
Great concept. Amazing facilities and grounds. But unfortunately spa services were mediocre at best. Add to that the tendency by staff to treat their guests as cattle and the rating drops from 4 to 2.
Always love our special time at the spa. This year was perfectly safe and so relaxing
Managed to get three cancellation appointments for massages on the holiday Monday in May! Couldn’t believe our luck and we had incredible massages and absolutely loved the baths. Great customer service and can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend calling and booking or getting there by 8:30 to get in or on the wait list. There are 2-3 hot and cold pools respectively, as well as two saunas and a steam doom. The steam room, quiet and zen atmosphere and beautiful scenery just outside of collingwood make this a must go spot.
I have been to their Whistler location and loved it; therefore, I’m not holding anything against them and my comments are the honest feedback of the horrible experience I had here. Read my comments carefully and reconsider going there for massage treatments. Certainly not worth your money or time (if you’re driving from GTA). The spa had a good atmosphere itself with all the baths; however, the RMTs were not good at all. No quality massage and no quality massage room. The massage beds do not have heating path. However, the absolutely unacceptable part was that my masseuse’s had a very bad breath. I could smell a strong garlic smell while I was getting my massage. I need to mention I don’t have the strongest sense of smell. When I was done my wife indicated to me that her RMT burped at least three times during the session (very loudly). This service and this lack of professionalism is beyond unacceptable. Don’t spend 180 dollars/massage there. Ontario has many many better places … I hope the senior management of this place reads this and retrain their RMTs … I’ve never had such a bad experience in my life. I would definitely recommend you to not go here.
This place is the definition of relaxing. I can't say enough good things. The baths are very clean and the atmosphere is very calm. There are steam rooms, saunas, relaxation rooms and cold plunge pools as well. We spent 7+ hours here and felt completely rejuvenated when we left. Will definitely visit again soon!
I love this place, I go once a year to relax and unwind. They recently upgraded the ladies change room and the lockers. You get a bracelet now that will unlock your locker instead of having to carry a key around. Prices have also gone up. A 1-hour massage plus access to the facility is now $190....if it wasn't for the fact that I'll get some money back for the massage, I would consider this too pricy. With that said I highly recommend that you book a massage, it guarantees you entry 30 minutes prior to your appointment. If not arrive early as they always have a waiting list.
Great place to relax, very well maintained, friendly staff, perfect getaway during winter
So relaxing! This experience was fantastic over all. Will be returning for sure and the price for it was great. I didn't know what order to do things in so we just kinda went for it, and I should have brought a book did not realize that it was an option. Overall it was great& the cooler day was the perfect time to go. Will be returning.
Very relaxing, highly recommended for everyone that needs to be relaxed. The best experience I had.
Beautiful and relaxing. I went with my fiancé and it was perfect relaxation. Arrived early to get in on Sunday since we missed getting in on Saturday. The eucalyptus steam room was my favourite. Great skin benefits. Must bring: water bottle to re-hydrate, flip-flops and your own robe to walk around and relax in since they charge extra. I will be back in the winter!! Great place for friends, mom-daughter and couples.
Amazing! A must if you visit The Blue Mountains. Don't forget a robe so you don't have to rent one, and bring sandals. They'll give you towels through the day, and there's shampoo/conditioner/shower gel in the showers. …
The baths were amazing! They have 3 hot springs and 2 or 3 cold baths as well as a steam room, sauna and 3 relaxation rooms! $65 + $12 for robe rentals may seem a little steep but once you're there, it is absolutely worth every penny. They …
Great time. Only thing is 2 baths out of 3 were lukewarm because they did maintenance the night before and it happend to be the one with the waterfall so minus 1 star. I suggest book the first thing in the morning, by noon it was getting really buzy for only 1 hot pool. The saunas and relaxing rooms were very nice Clean and roomy. Food is a little pricey obviously but didn't eat there, they did have chilli witch would of been nice for the cold weather. The locker system was nice and easy. You get thick towel like robes and 2 towels. Over all would come back to see how it is in the summer at night.
It's definitely worth a shot...my husband and I had such an amazing time with the baths and the massages...most relaxing and memorable experience in midst of nature...trust me it's worth trying even in winters???????????? We spent 5 hours there...felt like spending the entire day
What a great experience, excellent service...clean and safe..as well as perfect for day of relaxation. I loved the fact that everyone is following the rules of no cell.phone and being quite Thank you ????
I loved it. I feel so relaxed after my visit here! If you're going to go over the holidays, be aware that you need to line up early. The first day we were there at 10am and we didn't make it inside. The next day we lined up before the gates even opened (around 7:45am) and there were already people there. Before the baths even opened, they had reached capacity. So plan accordingly if you want to go during a holiday. It's worth the hassle. Make sure that you take advantage of the cold pools too. It makes the hot ones that much more enjoyable.
One of my favourite day trip get away! Beautifully situated in callingwood, amazing facilities and staff are friendly. I like the blue mountain location the best as you literally can spend whole day at the spa. Get there earlier around 9 or 10 to avoid getting on the waiting list and once you get in, doing your hot to cold to relaxation routine for like three four times and off to a nap! Have some on site lunch and doing the routine again. Trust me time flies when you are surrounding by the beauty of the nature! Worth to visit anytime and any season. Winter is magical!
This is a very beautiful spa that is close to Toronto! It was a lovely get away. The only part that was disappointing was that it was small but the pools, saunas and relaxation areas were nice! Be prepared to go up a day before if you are coming from Toronto, we arrived at 10 am and were told we would be on a wait list and were only called at 8pm so we ended up staying at a bed and breakfast to go early the next morning. Worth it though!
Visited here with a few friends on the weekend and it was an interesting experience. We had massages booked and the masseuse was great. When we went to the baths it was an interesting experience as it is winter and pretty cold out already. The experience was enjoyable for the most part and surprisingly didn't seem too crowded even though there were many people there. The rating is 4 stars because the food selection is below average. Ridiculous pricing for small tiny wraps which do not even taste good. It's a nice experience to tryout once but I don't know if I would go back again.
Lovely and zen atmosphere. Very clean facilities and great lunch options in the cafe. Be prepared to lineup outside around 830am to guarantee entry into the spa. Update: been back since the pandemic happened. You can book everything online and there’s no longer a wait outside which is really nice. There were covid protocols in place and staff were frequently disinfecting high contact services. I felt safe during my spa experience.
I was up at blue mountain for an overnight stay. Was gifted 2 passes to the Scandinave spa baths. It was such a treat. The staff was super friendly to start. They gave us an explanation of how to best utilize the spa. There were about 4 different baths varying temperatures From cold to hot. There are 2 sauna a steam room .. solariums and hammocks and lounging areas. It was super relaxing, refreshing and therapeutic. Every has to be quiet which is great not to have to hear obnoxiously loud talking. There's a snack bar if you get hungry and it offer healthy options. My sister and I spent over 3 hours there and we could've stayed a whole lot longer. It was a great place to spend the day.
Not only is the spa tremendous, the area around the spa makes for such an enjoyable walk! The pond, the ducks, the trees draw you in before you head over the bridge to outdoor bliss. This has to be on your to do while in Collingwood list! Book a massage or just enjoy the nordic style baths, you will not be dissappointed! Fantastic for you and a loved one to have a romantic afternoon or evening together! Hands down, happy place in my heart!
Beautiful and revitalizing spa. Staff were super professional, friendly and efficient. My RMT was great as well. Will be returning.
During Covid there are restrictions, check before booking. Walk ins may be turned away due to capacity issues from the bookings. Not all services are offered. But an excellent layout, clean and staff are super friendly. Be prepared to whisper and leave your electronic devices in your locker. It's very quiet and they enforce both rules above.
The spa was very relaxing, clean, and the staff were incredibly professional. Though the steam room and sauna are still closed, I still found many areas to relax: there are three different "baths": ~12C, ~32C, and ~38C. The solarium was very warm and comfy and there are also Adirondack chairs around two fires available. My masseuse was on time, made me feel relaxed and comfortable, and very professional. My one complaint is that the patrons can be a bit rude, I saw some people taking their masks off in prohibited places and some people talking loudly though we are asked to be quiet. Of course this is no fault of the spa, so I still give them five stars, though this definitely impacted the quality of my experience.
We enjoyed our massage therapy sessions and bath at the spa. The staff were friendly and professional. Special shout-out to my massage therapist John who made me very comfortable and at ease for the entire experience. The only small issue is the other male massage therapist, who were talking and laughing loudly in the hallway despite the quiet zone and when he passed by all of us in the waiting area, he had his hands inside his pockets and casually walked by without a simple acknowledgment. When he came back and was supposed to greet his client, he forgot his client’s name and confused all of us. Thanks god he was not my massage therapist.
The spa is beautiful and very relaxing. The workers in the change room and pool area however lessened how much we enjoyed the experience. I was using my phone in the change room for about a minute before I was rudely told I couldn’t be on my phone. Other women were on their phones as well and the same worker didn’t tell them anything. In the pools, my boyfriend and I were told to be quiet but another couple louder than everyone else was free to talk as they pleased. When you’re the only black people present and notice that you’re being told rules that no one else has to abide by, it is unsettling. My suggestion to make this experience more enjoyable is to refrain from treating certain guests with partiality. Either the rules apply to everyone or they don’t apply at all. Also, the workers policing the spa & changerooms feels a little strange when you’re trying to enjoy yourself. Atmosphere feels very controlled & we didn’t feel very welcome.
Massage was lovely, only gave 4 stars because I think I was expecting more!
Amazing experience. Beautiful environment, i would def. Recommend this place to anyone who needs some R&R
Total relaxation. My favorite is the Eucalyptus steam room but the massage therapists are amazing too.
Great spa! It's a bit small compared to the other nordik spas I've been to but still a great experience. The massage therapist I had, Cheryl, was amazing. Good pressure on areas that felt like they had knots. The staff are super friendly. There's enough for me to stay for a few hours and feel fully rejuvenated. Would be nice if they could expand and offer even more but thank you for the amazing experience!
I have to say I’m really disappointed with my last two visits at Scandinave spa in blue mountain. I’m a mom with a baby at home and the last two times I was gifted an outting to myself, I chose scandinave to go to. Specifically chosen for the fact that it is a place that honours silence and quiet. Both times, every time I went into a bath or a room to read, there are people talking. Not just whispering but raising their voice to tell their friend to hang their towel up, or have loud enough conversations where I can hear everything being said on the opposite side of the hot tub. It’s really frustrating because it’s a lot of money. If you’re going to have rules and an establishment based on a quiet relaxing experience, please do better to have staff enforce them. The massage was absolutely excellent. That was the best part of my visit. Thanks to Pamela the rmt for giving me one reason to leave a positive piece to this review. She’s amazing!
This place is absolutely sublime. The quite and relaxing atmosphere lends to a very enjoyable stay. The massage therapy was very well done and I have nothing but good things to say about this wonderful place. Worth every cent.
This is the best spa experience I ever had. Everything was perfect. I've never felt so much relaxed and serene.
Stunning location. The Swedish massage was lovely. The hot baths were very relaxing too, followed by the saunas. Very fun and relaxing get away from the city.
A definite must-visit for ultimate relaxation with hot baths, saunas, and steam rooms. All surrounded by beautiful nature. Great time to disconnect from devices and be mindful (no phones or talking allowed).
This is no longer a restful tranquility spot. Three stars for the people this place is attracting. The quiet isn’t enforced, …
Underwhelming experience. The baths are said to be running at 50% capacity due to COVID-19, but when we reached -- we noticed lots of visitors hanging around. The pools were not clean and had dead bugs/hair floating everywhere. The Steam room is closed off, and infrared sauna was ok. Apart from that there wasn't much to do. There is not much signage to help a new visitor on how to use the bracelet/lockers which are finicky. It was also unclear for many guests on where to drop off the used towels/bathrobes. I am not sure how this experience can be considered relaxing when pools are dirty and place is super crowded in the middle of the week!
Went there for the first time today for my moms birthday - all the hype is true. Very friendly staff - love the waters and rest areas - learned I like the 1 kind of sauna over the other. Loved loved LOVED the steam room - nothing was over crowded- loved the peaceful,,tranquility of it all. Wasnt able to get a massage - but honest, the time in the waters is worth it - I can "get a massage anywhere" - those waters though ????❤ Not good for people who like to talk too much lol - but I feel so rested and mellow after my visit there today ????❤
Quiet, relaxing and fun. Bring a robe so not to rent one, flip flops, book or a magazine, and make a day of it. There is a line to get in, in the morning and a waiting list after, but up to a certain level worth the effort to come early.
Traveled 200 kms and was just on time. Asked water and the team is struggling for providing water. Its is served after 20 mins. No guest treatment. Soon you realize this cuts down the massage time. Got only 30 mins. No great massage. Highly commercialised. Not recommended.
I'm going to simply change my address to that of Scandinave Spa Blue Mountains, why, because it is F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.! When you arrive and that big red sign welcomes you as you take that lovely drive along the driveway through a tranquil green forest with splashes of red cabins and wood elements, you cant help but begin to shed away whatever anxieties you felt before as you anticipate your well spent quiet time. It's a spa in every right. Dedicated, kind, friendly, knowledgeable staff in their own right. Massages, baths, delicious cuisine and quiet areas. The quiet areas with the hammocks, trees, and birds, all conspire to relaxation. This place is magical. Imagine a day of skiing and you at the spa after. Truly a must when in Collingwood.
When I visited a few years ago this place was amazing to visit and get away from everyday busy life. I feel this time when I visited it was noticed that all the hottubs grout is missing from the top edge and that all the tubs needed a little tlc besides that I had a great time and can't wait to return. Also I would like to mention when calling to confirm my appointment time that the employee was very rude but maybe she was just having a bad day.
They took the silence stuff really seriously and I was hushed a few times, but the entire experience is meant to be as relaxing as possible and they certainly do a great job of it. I’ve been a few times and personally I enjoyed going in the fall when the leaves are changing colour all around the outdoor baths.
Beautiful snowy day to sit by the outdoor fires and enjoy the hottubs. As always facilities are very clean.
It's an amazing experience. I went in -8 weather and the hot springs were still heatedly warm. The atmosphere is calming. They have a no noise policy and if you need to talk whisper really really quietly. People come here for their zen. I went with my friends but there's lots of couples going together too. You can NOT take photos here but some people do by being sneaky ????????♂️
Gorgeous and spacious facility with over 6 outdoor pools to chose from and some of the best sauna's out there. My RMT Lauren was the best and gave helpful tips after the massage. Definitely worth coming back.
I had such an amazing time I loved this place. It was hard for all of us to be quite but we managed. I would go back any day. The only problem we had is it poured rain all day. Other then that it was awesome
Nice experience withy girlfriends. All facilities are clean and well sanitized. Lots of friendly staff on premises making sure your stay is exceptional. It's really good for couples.
My happy place. I visit several times a year. It's cheaper than a massage, lasts as long as you like, and the relaxing effects are the same. My only complaint is the food - I've eaten there many times, and the portions are too small, it's too expensive, and honestly, the food is just gross. No flavour, unmemorable. Eat well before you go, so you don't get sucked into paying $8 for 1 cup of salad.
This was my second visit to Scandinave Spa and it was great. My boyfriend and I went here as a little getaway and we both were in need of a massage. We felt so relaxed and calm after the massage and got to spend some time in the hot baths outside. It was really nice to have a mix of hot water/steam with the cold air from up North as well. Will definitely go back in the future.
This was a pleasant and serene environment. Some parts of the pool were a bit dirty and the spa is a bit outdated and needs some maintenance especially with such a high price point. The bistro’s food is not luxurious and my friend found a hair in her sandwich. The server there was really high strung and rude as well. She refused to serve the chicken sandwiches that were just brought in during open and said “what we have in the case is what we have”. Then when we asked if she had hot sauce she said “we don’t have that usually” but there was a bottle of Frank’s on the counter. While the experience wasn’t horrid in general we wouldn’t return to scandinave and opt for the far more well-fitted, larger and more luxurious, Nordik.
I was really impressed with the amazing service I received! All the staff were very kind and the massage I got was one of the best I’ve ever had. The experience of the baths was amazing. The first time I went to the baths I was a bit confused as to which bath was which, but eventually I figured it out. Some more signage on the baths / solariums would be helpful. Do note the saunas and steam rooms are closed right now.
Went on a long weekend and didn't book ahead of time so we only did the baths. $90 ea for just the baths. Would definitely be a better deal to get a massage first then do the baths. Still enjoyed it. The sauna is much too hot for my comfort. No food or drink (except water) in the baths and no talking. Also some nice places to sit outside of the baths, by a fire etc to enjoy the sound of the birds.
We loved nature and the baths but that's it. The staff has been very rude and constantly "shush-ing people ???????? which is so ugly.. we've been there in company and didn't went to sleep, people gonna talk to each other. I think the only thing that makes people go back is the location in the middle of nature nothing else.
Great experience overall. Love the tranquility of this spa; everything, from the foot bridge to the spa, to the baths themselves, is designed to elicit a sense of serenity. Had a Swedish massage. The therapist was putting too much pressure but quickly corrected after I communicated. Staff came around frequently to maintain the baths and give gentle silence reminders. Would have liked for teas and lemon water to be complimentary to guests as with some other spas.
Very therapeutic. The layout of the spa is perfect and easy to navigate around. Wednesday's are their discount day, but the prices are very reasonable on another day. Winter is there busiest season.
Drove up w/a friend in late August. We paid $75. - ish, for a whole afternoon (would have stayed longer, but we had to get back as the drive from Guelph is well over an hour). The serenity of the spa is and comfortable and the setting of the spa makes it truly feel like visitors can get an escape from the everyday. In addition to hot and cold pools there are saunas, solariums, dining on site and registered massage therapists which can be booked to elevate your visit into more of a retreat. Visiting in the summer meant we could lounge outdoors and bask in the sun, but a visit during other times of the year can afford you a sit near the fire, and staying on into the evening affords you the treat of enjoying the spa at night. The ambiance and lights really make it feel magical, and of the friends that we've talked to, they all wish this spa also had overnight accommodations. This place is truly special and worth retreating to!
One of the best spas I’ve ever been to. This location is extremely professional and staff really strives to give guests the best experience possible. My RMT was so pleasant and personable and gave me such a great massage (really wishing I remembered her name to book her again). All the baths are clean and the outdoor space is one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever been. If you live in the area, I would even recommend coming here alone with a book and spending the day. Would recommend in all seasons, especially summer time to enjoy the hammocks and outdoor Muskoka chairs. Prices are fair and competitive.
I loved it like usual! I went on Monday and just the right amount of people there, nice and peaceful, I got some quiet time for myself. The staff are always so nice and friendly! Can't wait to come back again soon!
We made reservations for massages. I highly recommend doing that so that you are guaranteed entrance into the spa. The RMT I got was amazing. His name is Shawn Wallace and really listened to my needs and was very meticulous. This is the third time coming to the spa and the other massages I got were too general, not deep enough and usually just a lazy relaxation massage. I was pleasantly surprised this time though it's too bad you can't request a specific RMT as far as I know. So don't expect any type of therapeutic massage when you go and you might be pleasantly surprised. It is great that you can use your benefits to cover some of the cost because it's not cheap. The waters are great. I especially love the infra red sauna. This is the only type of sauna that actually penetrates your fat cells and releases the toxins. I recommend you spend your time doing that and alternating wirh cold plunges. It's the best detox! Just drink lots of water! Bring a good book to read and some flip flops and you're all set :) the change room is very clean. The cleaning lady in there is super friendly and constantly making sure you've got what you need. The hair dryers work REALLY well! The food is OK. The best things on the menu are the soups and chilli. The sandwiches are cold and they don't have a grill to warm them up which is very unfortunate. The staff are friendly and a great way to spend a day away from the hustle and bustle!
I love it here, i have been two times, both in the winter but its awesome. Best to start in the hot baths. Then the cold plunge, followed by the infrared sauna and a cold rinse in the shower. Last either the steam room or the Finnish sauna or both and a cold plunge. All with some R&R in the solariums after each cold rinse. Its best to build yourself up to the high temperatures so you dont feel like you're cooking yourself. The food in the lounge is quite tastey also. But beware the shush police.
This was my first time at the Scandinave Spa and I honestly didn’t know what to expect, however, it far exceeded any expectations I had. I simply went for the pools on a weekday in the middle of the day so it wasn’t so busy. I highly recommend going on a weekday as early as possible and getting as much time in the saunas and the pools and the hot tub’s. It was such a relaxing time, the atmosphere, the weather was perfect everything was just amazing!
What a day. Ive been looking to experience this place for a while. Finally I got there and everyone is so accommodating in every way. The baths are awesome. So many relaxing areas. Yes the saunas and the steam rooms where closed but there is son much that you’ll be fine either way. Massage was great but really the experience on the grounds is what did it for me.
Loved the spa, but wouldn't book massage again. We both had a rather robot like experience.
I went there last saturday(7th of November) with my wife and it was our 1st time, the place was very pleasing and absolutely wonderful relaxation. One big flaw was, they had too many staffs because of this pandemic situation, and the worst …
They cancelled with less than 3 hours notice - even though they required me to pay in-full two and a half months ahead. My sister and I planned a weekend together and drove 500 km to be here only for the supreme disappointment of having my massage cancelled at the last minute. Their own cancellation policy is 48 hours in advance! For the high up-front cost I’d expect them to have staff on call. They did the absolute least they could do which was to refund my treatment that they cancelled. The staff who checked us in were unapologetic. They offered me access to the baths while my sister received her massage and the owner offered us both bath access the following day. Given that saunas and steam rooms were closed due to the pandemic, we drove over 1,000 km round trip for a hot tub. I will never return and will advise all my friends and family to try Spa Nordik instead.
Absolutely magical and incredible place in Collingwood near the Blue Mountain Village. This is a nature retreat spa with lots of saunas and hot baths as well as cold pool plunges and a eucalyptus steam bath room. The landscape and architecture is very calming and tranquil, completely surrounded by nature - the essence of Scandinavian spirit. Highly recommended vacation for your mind body and soul!
A very relaxing experience. We spent 2.5 hours just doing the baths and saunas. The hot baths are nice and hot and the cold plunges are cold! 2 different saunas and a steam room. It is the most tranquil space I have ever been nestled just …
Had an reservation yesterday December 6 at 4pm. Had to make the reservation a month in advance and could only get a weekday, which necessitated taking the afternoon off work. All of this is fine, I wanted to bring my girlfriend out for a nice day. We arrived after a 2.5 hour drive, got in immediately, and changed into our bath attire. Everything was great. We enjoyed the facilities for not even 10 minutes when they suffered a power outage and told everyone they did not expect the power back any time soon and told us we had to leave. This is an act of nature, a large storm rolled in, which I understand, however it became very clear that the hospitality at this place ends when they aren't getting anything out of it. Staff were rude, direct, and in a hurry to get us out. They offered a full refund (as we were there for less than 10 minutes), however nothing else for the inconvenience. They 100% do not care about anyone's experience or inconvenience. I heard the manager talking to other people that were there since earlier in the day (>2 hours) that had a massage booked later in the evening, that they can cancel the massage, but because they had use of the baths for more than 2 hours, they would not be refunded for the cost of the bath. I'm not sure who pays $100 to attend the baths for only 2 hours, nor is that noted on their website as an expectation. When you pay for the baths, you can stay as long as you like. If they weren't complete with their experience, then it doesn't matter how long they've been there, it was cut short. They gave some people 10%-30% off the next visit (the person that got 30% off was a regular, attending hydrotherapy weekly, so she was given preferential compensation), however the others got a 10% coupon. Since we were there only 10 minutes, we did not even get that 10% coupon. We never asked for a free visit, or anything too arduous, but some sort of acknowledgement for the poor experience by your customers, within your control or not, would go a great way to extending that customer experience and hospitality. They have a lot to learn, and the two of us are deeply disappointed by the linear, unwavering thinking of the staff and the manager. They are in dire need of hiring someone with customer relations experience. We tried to address this directly with the staff and manager, as well as their email address that they mentioned in other reviews, but the stone wall we faced was quite brutal.
Amazing spa getaway. The RMTs are polite, skilled and professional. Make sure to book way in advance. If you are put on a waiting list for a massage, make sure to call again closer to the day as sometimes they have open spots and forget to call. The hot springs are outdoors. It was raining when we got there and you don't get another robe if it's wet, only extra towels. The place looks even better at night because it's all lit up. Very romantic with a significant other and very relaxing.
My husband and I really enjoyed our time this past weekend! It had been 10 years since our last visit, so this was quite a special time for us. It was indeed relaxing and very rejuvenating. We had a lovely time. While my experience of the facility and patrons who supported us was a 5/5. I would like to offer some feedback to the reception staff, they were quite rude upon welcoming and seemed annoyed with questions we had - I found them to be rather short and uninterested in engaging. O would think that during a time like this, it is most pleasing to see people feel safe enough to come out and share in a space like this. I expected better reception. Overall we had a lovely time regardless and will be back!
Went to Scandinave Spa on Friday for my very first visit with my boyfriend. It was incredibly relaxing, clean and not that busy. The spa allows a small amount of people to enter per day, with restricted access to pools. BUT I would rather that than a crowded spa with huge line ups. Masks were not mandatory in the pools/outdoor facilities but I carried it throughout the day with my water bottle and wore it a bit. Men walked around the facilities telling people if a pool was at its capacity, and cleaning up every space (handles, hooks, seats, etc), so I felt extremely safe. The Saunas/stream rooms were not open, but we made the most out of the day and rotated around each pool, and went to each facility stop to tan or nap. Overall, well done, I usually frequent Nordik Spa, but I loved the rustic and relaxing vibes or Scandinave.
Great spa. They really respect and enforce a quite and peaceful environment. The massage therapist I got was an angel. She relaxed and opened up my entire body. The sauna and hot spring pools were nice and warm. It was crowed in the morning, I recommend going in the evening.
Really good massage experience. Jason was a really good massage therapist. Place was busy as I went after 7:30 it was a really good experience in the baths. I really like the steam room with the smell of eucalyptus it cleared all my sinesus. Some things to improve on will be cleaning the locker room regularly as they were littered with towels everywhere and the receptionist has to give more clear direction. Nice experience would recommend.
Amazing experience! Will definitely be back, hopefully soon. The online booking process was very easy to do. When we arrived, a host explained our next steps of checking in and getting ready. This was quick and easy! The baths were wonderful. The quiet environment was perfect for relaxing. The staff were very diligent if there were people that were being too loud.
Really enjoyed our time here. My wife was able to book a couples massage 4 months ago but it was crazy trying to get through to book it. It was busy but still felt like there was a lot of space to move around, sit and enjoy all the facilities. It didn't feel too packed even on a Saturday which i was surprised by (lots of seating areas still open and was able to experience every part of the Spa experience). The massage room was less than stellar (very barebones) which is odd considering the rest of the resort. Very much felt like a rush to get people in and out. Otherwise I would definitely like to come back, but seems difficult unless you get there really early from out of town / book another massage 4 months in advance...
Scandinave is the perfect place to get away and unplug rain or shine. I love the quiet, beautiful atmosphere and look forward to visiting the spa again soon!
Love this place so much! The atmosphere is peaceful and the quiet policy is a nice change from the busy-ness of life. The RMTs are also very professional (and you can also claim from insurance). Been there four times now and I can't wait for my next visit! ????
Nice place, they have done a nice job at this location. Looking forward to possibly returning in the future.
Still a great experience even during covid. Noticed some wear and tear hopefully they will upkeep but still so fun a great day
The facility is nice and clean. ...very tranquil. Unfortunately due to covid, certain amenities are closed like the sauna and steam room. The staff is also very friendly. However, the massage was subpar, nothing special. I got more benefit from the hydrotherapy than the massage.
Strict social distancing rules which I really like. Forest bath is my favorite section. Relaxing, meditating. I like to quickly run to cold pool after every 15 minutes in hot pool. Leave your cellphones in the locker and bring a book. Not a fan of the parking lot especially when it rains. Book your massage way early.
Such a beautiful place , very relaxing and peaceful. The staff are courteous and welcoming . As long as you are quiet and respectful , the outdoor staff are polite ! The mini bistro has a variety of calming teas that you could enjoy after your baths. Totally recommend it for a couple getaway.
Place is beautiful. People are nice and the baths were amazing. Loved every minute of my massage - never been so relaxed! I'd definitely come back to enjoy the place again.
When there for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. The environment was calm and the staff were supper nice and patient.
My favourite place all the time. Can spend 6+ hours here. Check their tweeter before going.
Great sanitizing measures during COVID. First time here, we loved it. Definitely going back specially during winter season specially when saunas are back in use. Loved hanging out by the fire and relax.
One of the worst experience I had. My husband and I booked the Spa 2 weeks prior thinking we are getting the same experience as the Whistler location. The staff including the massage therapists were not professional and extremely rude and racist. My therapist asked me where I am from and how long I have been in Canada because I have an accent. He burped during the session. They did not have blow dryers, choice of massage oil, and no bins for the used towels. I don’t recommend this place at alll for the money you are paying.
I mainly go here for the baths and relaxation rooms. I only get the massages since I have benefits coverage and it gives you access to the baths. I've been here multiple times and I always found that the massages are inconsistent. Recently, I went 2 days in a row since we were staying in the village. The first RMT I would rate 1/5, I could barely believe she was even licensed, she asked where she should focus and then didn't focus on that area lol... The second RMT was much better, 4/5. With the price you pay ($186 for 60 minutes) and the type of spa this is you would expect the massages to be much better. Nonetheless, it's worth going to for the baths, atmosphere, and it's nearish (I absolutely looove Le Nordik and its 10000x bigger and better, but it's just so far, can't wait for their Whitby location to finally open).
The bath was decent but nothing overwhelmingly different from a normal hot tub and hence may not justify the cost of $70 per person. Additionally, no cameras or photography is permitted here; which is a shame considering it does have a great aesthetic.
I've always been a huge fan of this spa. Clean and well-maintained. I love the concept and relaxation. Only drawback is it's hard to get in to the baths now because tour buses drop off loads of people before they open, pretty much ensuring that you have to wait 5 hours like we did. I'm sure it's great for business, but it's not fun to wake up at 5am to drive there early and then not even get in. Also, there are more people talking and generally being louder in the baths now. I used to love the absolute silence. If you have a massage appointment, I believe you have a guaranteed spot in the baths, though!
The deepest relax ever invented by humans for humans, you feel like a royal and part of nature at the same time???????? highly recommend
Even though we are in a lockdown, my sister and I had a very relaxing experience at Scandinave Spa. The atmosphere is so serene and calming. It was almost like being on vacation. Massages were AWESOME and our 45 minutes in the hot bath was exactly what we needed. We will definitely be back!!!@
Gonna try to be fair and as objective as possible regarding my bath experience at scandinave spa. The goods 1. Great views, very photogenic arena. The area is beautiful to see in both light and dark. 2. The pools are filled with clean spring water and also are available in varying temperatures. There are also mini falls in some of the pools, which you can go underneath and enjoy their falls. 3. Clean towels and convenient locker system. You are provided with a rubber band, which also works as a key to your locker. As long as you are wearing the band on your wrist, you should not be losing the key to your locker. The bads 1. No audible-to-others talking allowed. This is huge minus for me as I am social and active yet also very professional and courteous. As a young professional in the late 20s, I enjoy good conversations and giggles with the companies around. When I entered the area, I was told that we should talk in quiet manner and I respected that policy. Even when I was keeping my voice down, I was constantly told by staffs that I should turn down my volume even further. I do understand that the purpose of some visitors here is to achieve mental and physical well-being at this place, but for a social personality like me, it was extremely frustrating to remain silent for the two hours I stayed here. So if you are a hard-core spa user who really wants silence during your bath, this is the place. If you are not, then I do not recommend this place. 2. No photo allowed. The pros #1 and #2 regarding great views and clean water are effectively negated with no photo policy. I am also a personality who likes to store great views with either pictures or videos. The staffs told me no imaging is allowed to respect the privacy of other people. This was difficult for me to understand as everyone was wearing bathing suit and I have never seen a swimming pool or spa place that bans imaging. I guess this policy also splits opinion. If you are a personality that really wants your privacy respected, this is the place for you. If you are a personality like me who appreciates storing memorable experiences in photos or videos, I do not recommend this place. 3. Coarse pool inner walls and floor. Some tiles have also been chipped off, which might not be safe.
Wow! What an absolute treasure. My wife and I came here for a relaxing trip to melt away our stress and we were not disappointed. All covid-19 guidelines were followed. Staff were on hand continuously to sanitize all seating areas all the time. Although people come here to relax, they sometimes forget that talking is NOT PERMITTED and the staff are great at reminding them. The recommended hydrotherapy cycle of hot baths, then cold baths, then relaxation was absolutely fantastic when done four or five times in a row, it definitely relaxed us. The locker rooms were very clean. The showers in the change rooms have shampoo, conditioner, lotions and body wash. We rented robes which were of excellent quality and were definitely needed in the cool temperatures while we sat by the fire. The area around all the hot baths and inside the buildings are very clean. ***We strongly recommend a light be installed at the end of the driveway just before coming onto the street because at night and especially when it's raining it is extremely difficult to judge where the roadway intersection is.*** We will definitely return!
It's quite an experience going into hot outdoor baths... Very relaxing and would recommend to friends
Excellent place to get a massage, the hot and cold pools are really good to finish this process of relaxation. I came a new person after my experience in this Spa. Erin Rank, the therapist that treated me is exceptional! Definitely will go back here in the future.
Wow wow wow... amazing place!!! Spent the day there with my coworkers and fell in love with the place... ...this will be my new spa s Getaway spot... if you are reading this and trying to decide if you should go ...the answer is heck yea!!!
Drove 2.5 hours to treat a friend for her birthday and sadly was very disappointed with the visit. The baths were dirty, crowded and loud. There are many signs and reminders to be "quiet please" but one staff barely present to enforce it. If you're looking for a clean, peaceful experience, do not go here!
Such an amazing experience! I have always struggled to find ways to relax and this REALLY got me to where I've strived to get. Plan to spend the whole day and have lunch in the Cafe. Don't forget your waterbottle, robe and flip flops!!
The baths and staff were nice, but the security guards were all over the place even coming in to the relax room and people couldn't sleep. Staring etc. So uncomfortable. I know they try to keep everyone quiet (even though they were talking quietly) , counting covid etc. But when you cut down steam rooms, etc etc and its winter. Not much to go. Don't recommend until covid gone and the security guards need to relax!
It was okay, not quite the experience we had hoped for. It being a quiet spa does make it quite dull after some time. There could be some music playing at least. It really isn't that large, there are 3 different saunas or hot rooms, a few cold pools and a few hot baths. After about 2 hours or so it was very redundant, unless you want to read a book or take a nap there are much better spas for the price out there. They make you rent a robe for 15$ it was not listed on the website. Come on a robe at the spa should be included. Will not be returning but the experience was okay.
If I could hit the 5* twice, I would! Amazing, relaxing, and the No cell phone rule....totally great. Will definitely go back.
I always love my time at the outdoor baths. They have a pretty seemless process for checking you in prior to entering the building. Calm and serene and the staff are wonderful. I like that you now have to reserve a time to arrive.
Loved every bit. The massage, the changing facilities, the different hot tubs and relaxation areas. Great atmosphere , especially when it's snowing!
It is very nice and relaxing. You leave there feeling fully charged. If I compare it to other similar spas then they don’t have salt scrub and they don’t have infused steam rooms. There are a lot of warm pools, cold pools and relaxations areas to enjoy while you are there. I was there on a Friday morning and there place was busy, but didn’t bother me cause the facility is huge. I highly recommended it for a relaxing day or a quick getaway
Absolutely amazing and relaxing experience. If doing a massage and baths experience, I recommend doing massage first so that you don't have to get into your wet bathing suit right after.
I've visited this spa twice. The first visit was fantastic. Yes, covid procedures were in full effect but, the staff were reasonable with their asks to keep the noise levels down. Our second visit was terrible. After calling the front desk to let them know we were running late we were scolded. "Your appointment is your appointment. You cannot simply come whenever you choose." I was told that my late-coming was an issue three times. On the phone, when I check-in (outside), and when making it indoors to input my info on the tablets. Why am I being chastised by your employees? Is this not a place of relaxation? It's one thing if you're fully booked and cannot accommodate us but, it was even less busy than our first visit when it was warmer out. By that point, I was uncomfortable and cut my visit short. Please train your staff to welcome your guests, even if a mistake was made.
Went there on my birthday last year Feb 18th. It was the best amazing, experience I EVER have. Would I go there again? Definitely =) Every staffs, are super nice, well manner.
I visited during COVID with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. We had such a wonderful time there. The capacity was significantly reduced due to the pandemic, and it felt quite safe. Sometimes we would be the only ones in the pool or resting area. It was incredibly relaxing, and I hope to visit again soon!
We went to this spa for the first time. The staff were friendly; they take all measures to make you feel safe in the current situation. The locker area & cafe are outdated. The pools are relaxing whether you choose the hot pools or the cold plunge pools. There was plenty of space between the resting areas. Whether you choose a hammock or a comfortable chair, it is very peaceful. We could not get a massage, so I cannot comment on that service. The saunas were both closed, which was a little disappointing, but we knew that before we got there. Plan to spend hours there just listening to nature and relaxing your mind and body. It should be more attractive in winter, though. Am I going to return? Hell, yeah :)
Great day of relaxing. Was quite and calm; staff very friendly. Bistro has a few selections, next time we would bring our own lunch.
No photos. Staff are aggressive. My boyfriend and I went to the spa about a month ago and I went to take a picture after our experience of just the grounds and at least three staff came towards me all at once telling me not to take photos. Then we were outside of the spa where even if we were screaming on the phone nobody in the spa would hear us and a staff passive aggressively walked by us and tapped on the sign on the wall that said no phones. For spending close to $200 for both of us to go for a couple hours, I don’t think that the aggressiveness was necessary
It wasn't the worst spa ever but if you have no other options around I guess it would be fine. If you can find something better to do with your money it's probably better than the spa. It needs more attractions like a salt pool, a eating area with real food, a place you can chill and have a drink. Needs some upgrades. The swamp is not appealing either.
Always a relaxing time. We love it there for couple massages
I took my daughters here as a treat before my younger daughter started University. We met our family friend there too. This was our first visit to Scandinave Spa. All 5 of us had different RMT and agree our massages were the best we have had. And we have had many massages over the years. The pools, saunas and outdoor lounging areas were amazing. It was overcast with a little rain in the morning and then cleared up later in the day. Regardless of the weather, you will have a relaxing visit. We also had lunch at the cafe. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff were also amazing - checking in, change rooms, around the pool area and the RMTs too! I am planning a visit with my husband soon! I highly recommend a visit!
This is my absolutely favorite spa, even more so than La Scandinave Tremblant. The scenery is so beautiful. There is an energy that just fills you while you're here! Get the massage and the outdoor baths are included (that's your best deal!). You'll want to do both. My hubby and I spent several hours in late September and the temp and scenery were just perfect! Changing leaves on the mountains in the background, cool fall air, firewood burning on the outdoor firepit and steam rolling off the outdoor hot tub waterfalls. If you need some rejuve and relaxation during this stressful time, definitely book a few months ahead for this! It's worth the wait. You cant take pics inside for privacy reasons but check out the ones online and they show you the senerenity it provides.
The baths and facility are quite beautiful and I enjoyed my massage. My masseuse was professional, asked me what I wanted and did exactly that. I felt comfortable and enjoyed the massage. My body is going to feel quite loose tomorrow. My fiancé’s experience however was bad. She had staff make fun of her behind her back for “being too young to be engaged”. This is exactly the type of stuff we want to hear on our anniversary trip. She’s in her mid 20’s hello? Her masseuse also talked throughout the entire massage and did not work as much on the areas that she asked for. What ever happened to honour silence? Lol $150/175 is a steep price. To be making that much per hour, the experience needs to be flawless. I’ve been to the Montreal location and I can confidently say it is flawless. The staff talked too loudly, the customers were talking too much, whatever this was it was not flawless.
I had an incredibly relaxing time here! Don't shy away from the cold plunges, you won't regret it. Bathrobes are an additional cost so i recommend bringing your own. And dont forget sandals!
The services we get in there does not worth the price at ALL. The bath selection is limited and put client on silence mode (no talking). This is supposed to be a time to social with friends for some people in the holiday season. Plus they sold us overpriced swimsuits for $70 and swim shorts for $40. The shampoo and conditioner is worse than the cheapest motel. There is no lotions after the shower. I don’t know why people are crazy about this place. I have visited some spa in GTA. They handles lower pricing for better bath experience with full shower and bath set included in the bath price and don’t overcharge for swimwear. So for the reasons above I will not recommend Scandinave Spa for any of my friends or family and I will not return.
Came here for the water services and it was great. You do have to be very quite and no cell phones allowed. I recommend bringing a book!
Wonderfully relaxing, perfect day. Lots of parking, lockers for personal items included. Lots of space and lounging areas. Pools are perfect temp. Missing - water stations. Had to bring own water bottle or drink from a fountain like a kid in school. Would expect at this level of elegance, a water station with glasses and maybe fruit infused. Teas and snack are priced like Starbucks or maybe a little better. Better selection of teas. Was only here for the pools. Stayed 4 hours. Was delightful
Amazing and relaxing experience. Hot tubs weren't 102 by a long shot but other than that it was great.
Amazing experience, very relaxing and tranquil. Spa was very clean and people respected social distancing at all times This spa has 2 hot pools, 2 cold, one dry sauna, one wet sauna, hammocks, muskoka chairs and multiple areas to sit and relax Definitely worth booking a massage as well, well worth the money and adds to the overall experience
We had a relaxing day of massages and baths. They took COVID protocols seriously so we felt safe. Will definitely be returning someday soon!
This is my happy place ♡ I love it both in the summer and winter.. book a massage so you have a guaranteed timeslot.. and book well in advance - it's not to be missed.. we've spent 6-8 hours here before.
We've heard rave reviews about Scandinave Spa over the years but our recent visit fell far short of expectations. Be advised that this is NOT a luxury experience, even though the prices might fool you into thinking so. The first red flag is the massage reservation system and the first-come, first-serve entry for the baths. Guests can only make reservations by phone, which after being on hold for 10 minutes or more only to be told that nothing is available is a huge waste of time. Has management not heard of online booking? The same could be applied to the baths - open so many spaces per hour and allow guest to book online. It's been done before! The second shock is the reception area and "bistro" - which have the ambiance of a community centre. Frankly, I felt like I was signing in at the Christie Pits pool. We were told that there is a $12 charge for robe rentals (this info is buried in the FAQ page of their website). And the bistro is nothing but counter service from surly staff. What a missed opportunity to create a stellar arrival experience! The third shock was the men's locker room. Some basic amenities would be welcomed, more than just a huge dispenser of cheap body lotion. The shower heads were positioned to stream water all over the floor, which was constantly wet. And why not have a supply a towels in the locker room? Rather, guests have no choice but to return to the reception area for another towel. On a positive note, the exterior grounds were beautiful and the array of pools and saunas was more than satisfactory. We visited on a Tuesday, which was not overly busy, and the weather was pleasant enough to sit outside for a time. This made our visit worthwhile. However, there were lots of cleanliness and conditional issues noted in the interior spaces. Additionally, the relaxation rooms were drab and the seating was uncomfortable. You get the impression that they don't want you staying too long! Until Scandinave Spa upgrades their service and product, we'll look elsewhere.
Absolutely amazing place for you and your loved ones. You can arrange a nice day off with your beloved, family or friends. Couldn’t relax more! Thank you for hospitality ❤️
This was the only Spa I've enjoyed in my few years of enjoying such places. This practice works and on top of that the experience is very unique. Can't wait to go back!
My fiancee and I booked a massage service with this place weeks ago during an upcoming stay in the Blue Mountain area and, out of the blue, we were informed three days before our appointment that they were cancelling our appointment to give our appointment slot away to other potential customers. A weekend plan damaged by inconsideration. Thanks for that. Add-on: Your reply is reasonable and understandable. If this is the case, why was I told by a clerk that my appointment was being cancelled so it could be preferentially given out to customers who live closer to Scandinave?? My original review was about this point and your reply still fails to address this.
Great spa, fantastic outdoor pools, saunas, fire places and steam rooms. We went on a Saturday just got in at the cut off by 8:45 am. Weather was snowy because we had been told line up starts at 8 normally. We still didn’t get in door till almost 10. They had heaters out doors but if you are still on bridge no heater. The wait list when we left at 1 pm was already 6 hours long we heard. Like being able to exchange your wet towels downstairs, like new locker “keys” very environmentally friendly with multiple water refill stations. I feel weekends not as tranquil as coming during the week. So be prepared for that and being shushed if your louder than whisper.
The spa was a little small but was really pretty outdoor spa, the service was amazing tho, staffs were super friendly
Lovely atmosphere but you never know when you can get in since it takes hours even if you line up around 9.00 am
Hi Having frequented the spa on multiple occasions previously, I was very disappointed this time around. 1. Price - Saunas and Steam Room are not permitted to open. Pre-covid price was $80 for baths/Covid there is $10 off access. Should be a larger discount as half your normal amenities are no longer available. 2. Pools were very dirty with leaf debris. 3. Locker rooms are not set up for social distancing. 4. Grooming sections not set up of social distancing. 5. Given the weather is now cold & very cold at night, I visited the website to see if there were any restrictions posted in terms of hair dryers; None indicated on the website. However after my shower I was informed, by an employee that I was not permitted to use my own dryer. The establishment removed all their hair dryers but there was no signage in the locker or grooming stations indicating dryers not permitted. Very disappointing. I personally cannot go out into the freezing cold with wet hair. Just a really bad experience overall. I do not recommend this location.
The first time I came here we were told to come back later as the spa was full. Cool, we went into town to kill time. 6 hours later is when I received a text. I was back in Toronto by then. How do you guys stay in business? There should be an option to book in advance. Second time around we got in. I honestly feel this spa is overrated because: 1) Limited selection of food, eat before going if you can as it's small portions like a small salad, soup, sandwich etc 2) Pricey, I would rather have spent the money on a private massage 3) The people who walk around quieting people. Just imagine relaxing and then hearing a grown man telling other people to be quiet. I actually thought this was a joke but nope, you feel on edge the whole time thinking you are next. 4) The pools are dirty, hair floating in them and whatnot. Just feels gross bathing in other peoples dirt. 5) Limited selection of chairs. I understand this is a spa but have more seating outdoors so you are not awkwardly standing around waiting. 6) No waiting area that you can sit in and wait if you choose to spend the ridiculous 5 hour wait to get in. On the plus: Views are absolutely beautiful and the music and calming scent they use gives it a nice ambience.
LGBTQ friendly and if you are transgender it is a safe space. As well as being beautiful and definitely relaxing. No better spa. Get there early in the winter. Around 8am
I've been other similar spas and found this one underwhelming. It costs the same and has way less amenities. It was beautiful but I found it less impressive then others.
Place is very nice and relaxing. Loved the variety of different saunas. They have cafe there with a nice selection of teas. Only downside they need some sort of towel dryers especially in winter towels and robes just freeze outside cuz they are wet.
Loved spending the day here. Pools are all clean, though some of them are beginning to show their age on the bottom. All the facilities were clean as well, with employees constantly cleaning. You do need to keep quiet while there, but staff are kind in their approach to remind you if necessary. Rented a robe, which I really don't think you need in the summer. I wanted somewhere to put my mask but the robes don't have pockets. Not a big deal at all, just something to know.
Perfect getaway spa at blue mountain with hot and cold jacuzzi for spa experience. There is also a sauna room. Book in advance.
I was there in winter, it was snowing, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, but I was expecting water be more clean. Otherwise services was perfect
Beautiful facility, very well-maintained. Hot pools, cold pools, waterfalls, Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, steam room, campfires with outdoor seating. Hammocks in summer time. Expensive, but a nice treat and worth the cost. No phones and no talking allowed; nice and quiet for relaxation. Set back in the trees, with a boardwalk from the parking lot to the entrance. Friendly staff.
Popular, a must to enjoy and experience, and yes, to get relaxation, turn off cell phones put in lockers and you will be shushed if loud. Just relax and enjoy! A must to experience at any season, which ever season you enjoy!
Ooh man, I have no a lot of photos of this place as it's not allowed to take pictures inside, but I would say this is one of the best places I have ever been in Canada. Silence, snow and hot baths. No phone, no laptop, no any other devices, just you and nature. Definitely, absolutely, I will visit this place again. If you re going to visit this place driving from Toronto, I would recommend to move out at 6 am to be there at least at 8-8:30 am as it works "first come first serve".
Arrived in a winter wonderland last Wednesday. Had a fantastic massage then circulated the pools, steam room, saunas and relaxation rooms for a couple of hours. Sitting in the warm pools and by the fire pit as large fluffy snowflakes fell around us was beautiful. Enjoyed delicious tea and a book in the tea room.
Incredible spa for adults with a strict rule to stay quiet at all times. This creates a very relaxing atmosphere where all you hear is sounds of nature around you. There is also a no phones or cameras rule so that everyone can have privacy while out in the pools. You can also relax in one of several seated areas overlooking trees, by a fire, in a hammock, or a quiet room near the saunas. There are several pools with varying temperatures. Pop into one of the hot pools then plunge into one of the cold ones for an invigorating burst of energy. Although have have everything you need for a fee, it’s recommend that you take your swimwear, robe, water bottle, some toiletries, and a snack. They have a cute cafe in the main building, but only serve small things (and some things don’t taste as good as you feel they should for a spa. The price is very reasonable for everything you get, and there is virtually no time limit, so you can stay as long as you like.
Honestly the hype was not worth it, it was quite uneventful. Paying $80 for a hot bath with security guards disrupting every “relaxing” moment made it far from that of an adequate experience. The disturbances caused by the guards and other staff members made the experience less enjoyable. I understand that due to covid, there are strict protocols that are implemented but their exaggerated way of enforcing them was interfering with the integrity of the event. How is a disturbance from staff/guards any better than from other spa members? Every two seconds, I would see a guard coming and interrupting someone’s conversation. It is not that serious. Everywhere I went a staff member was hovering over me or other individuals in the facility. This ruined the experience for me, I did not come here to be harassed and stalked but to relax and alleviate stresses. Other than a hot bath, there was nothing else to do. Also, I noticed that individuals of colour were being harassed more so than other individuals. This was extremely disappointing to witness. Do better!! I was disappointed because I was really looking forward to this place. It was far from how I imagined it, I suggest you guys go to nordik spa instead!!!
Enjoyed the massage and bath for my birthday, shout out to Renato and Richard for really great massages. Initially I had asked for a couples massage and was surprised when we got separated but regardless it was still great! Staff was very friendly and easily accessible if needed. Only thing that made this a 4 star is that the chemicals in the bath were very overpowering the day I went and I had a terrible allergic reaction after which my skin is still recovering from a week later.
Great place to relax and unwind. Great massage services and the spa facilities are amazing set in a beautiful spot! Right up there with the Blue Lagoon in Iceland
Super relaxing, seating in hot tubs need to be resurfaced they are very rough.
This was my first experience to be here. Me and my wife, enjoyed the hot pool. It came with 3 different temperatures and one can go from one to the other. It has a mild heat, very hot and super hot. We stayed from the mild to very hot pools. After spending an hour on the pool, we both went for an hour massage. The massage was very relaxing. After the massage, we went back to our hotel and went fast asleep!
Great as usual with all precautions, however dry hot saunas and eucalyptus room are not open but entry price is the same which is a bit disappointing for the limited facilities. Post covid this place is amazing :)
Love Scandinave. So we were only able to do their bath. The massage you have to book 4 month in advance. I was able to book my massage in February. I am very much looking forward to that.
I had a great time at the spa, even during this pandemic and covid precautions. The employees were always sanitizing high touch areas, everyone in the baths kept their distance. It was my first time and I loved it. I can't wait to go back!
Scandinavine bath in Blue Mountain is a hidden gem. Quiet, tranquil it eases you out of stress. The have a waterfall, 3 warm baths 3 cool plunges, 2 fire pits. Hammocks and chairs everywhere. Its a gentle beautiful space where everything fall away. Highly recommended.
Recently went to celebrate my birthday. This was my second time there and i knew it would be a bit different due to the pandemic. The steam room and saunas were of course closed, but all the outdoor pools were open. There were limit as to how many people could be in a pool at a time, but the limit wasn’t really a problem as there weren’t too many people. I recommend bringing a water bottle, the fountains were closed due to covid concerns. They kept wood fires going all day, which makes the whole place smell heavenly. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly. I also received the best massage of my life. I left feeling incredibly relaxed!
Spa is amazing...clean and staff friendly. Staff will ask you to be quiet if you talk/laugh. Overall I had a perfect day and felt rejuvenated. I would like to go back. Maybe visit one of their other locations .
This was my first time here. And what a great experience and day. Very friendly staff. Communication was ok. Sanitation is kept up. A couple of suggestions for improvements. Each pool should have a display for Max Number of people. I found myself wandering to each pool to see if there was enough room to allow 2m apart. In the change room, I found many ladies asking where they should put their used towels. Signs should be visible. And a sign where the showers are. ( I walked right passed them). Everything just looks the same. (Colour wise). Other than that, love this spa. Definitely would return and recommend to friends and family.
I have been going to Scandinave since it opened many years ago. It was wonderful. Apparently it’s reputation has grown and now, despite beautiful facilities and location, is not the same experience at all. I felt I needed to provide some perspective for this experience since it’s expensive and often is a bit of a haul. People thinking of going should be aware of the following: - it is crazy busy. You cannot reserve pool time and weekends are bananas. Do not even think of going during the weekend. You will have a putrid wait time and will feel like a sardine everywhere - they have a quiet policy that they try to enforce but cannot because the volumes of people. So it’s now very loud and even boisterous with groups. The steam room echoes yet people continue to talk through that too. - there is major congestion everywhere. At the front entrance where people clog up the doorway waiting to get in (often freezing themselves), in the change rooms where lockers are stacked, at the one tiny food counter, at the front desk, in the quiet areas (which have the creakiest chairs ever constructed), and at the pools. There have even been times waiting for a massage where I couldn’t find a seat. - the prices are aggressive. You should know this upfront. - food options are very limited. But there are no limits on bringing food from outside. - people “game” the massage booking system by making reservations and then cancelling them 48 hours prior so you can seldom book a massage unless you are booking months in advance. - I’ve stopped going except for the rare time I can go outside of peak times. The experience is simply not relaxing or enjoyable anymore. They operate far beyond comfortable capacity and their choice to maximize profit over client experience is clear.
Had such a relaxing time! Signed up for the baths through the same day waiting list and managed to get in. The sauna and steam rooms were closed but we enjoyed the baths and hanging out out on the hammocks. Great covid practices, someone cleans the seats as soon as you get up.
All went well. I had no massage reservation and just asked to be placed on the waiting list for the "baths." Was told I'd have a 3-hour wait. I went to Blue Mountain Village, and in less than 2 hours, I was sent a text message letting me know that I could return to the spa. It was not too crowded when I was there. Everything looked clean. The staff were pleasant. The people were quiet (following the rules) which made it very relaxing in the sauna and steam room. It was a cool thing to do.
We went on the last Wednesday in February. It was a bit snowy so it wasn’t as crowded as it usually is(so I heard). I LOVED everything about this place. It’s a little smaller than the one in whistler but still a great place to unplug. Very clean facility, sweet and attentive staff who were also very professional, great atmosphere and place of relaxation. I don’t really like crowds so we timed it so we wouldn’t be in the middle of spring break or a holiday. We got put on a wait list for only 8 minutes. By the time we were at our car we were asked to come back. No complaints though! Try to come on a snowy day. I found the combination of the therapy and snow amazing! It was beautiful and added an extra winter wonderland feel. Will definitely be coming back!!!
Me and my fiancé attended the spa last evening and to say the least it was a fantastic experience the service was kind and helpful and the baths were amazing! The definite must dos for this place are the steam room and the hot pools it was quite and tranquil and overwhelmingly relaxing just try not to fall asleep! Definitely would recommend this for anyone in the area it is a definite must try for everyone. Side note it is an adults only spa but honestly that makes the experience much more relaxing!
I love this location. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and the facilities are clean. Baring weekends, which can be crowded at times, the « no phone rule/ no talking » is largely respected and enforced, which is one of the reasons I enjoy my experience there so much. I’ve had a massage treatment here before as well and I love it.
Even though I understand it was out of their control and mother nature, that does not make up at all for the distress and huge inconvenience and still lots of money loss that we had due to this! Therefore I would definitely not recommend it here.
By far one of my favourite spas in Ontario! The staff are amazing and you feel relaxed from the moment you go through the walkway. Highly recommend. Make sure to give yourself a few hours to enjoy and relax.
Awesome experience, peaceful and relaxing. My only complaint is the food options. I would love to see some more healthful choices.
My wife and I really enjoyed the place! It was an early birthday present for her.
This place is not worth the hype. Their booking system is beyond horrible. Their website is always super slow & down when new dates are added & noone gets a fair equal chance to book. Their phone lines are slow at the same time. You would think they care to fix this problem, but I guess it's not important for them. Good luck trying to get in, can take years!
This spa is a unique addition to the Ontario landscape. We drove 4 hours to have a massage and soak in December which was a very neat experience. Unfortunately, due to COVID, my partner and I could not do partner massage - so we booked two individual massage. The only times available were 1.5 hours apart so we took them. The wait for one another as well as the imbalance in time made the experience less enjoyable. A couple things I wasn't pleased with: - the lack of direction for someone who has never been before. We were told where the lockers were and what we *arent* allowed to do but no one ever explained to me where the massage building is or what I can do while I'm waiting for my turn. - my partner is a braun guy, broad shoulders and muscle heavy. He was assigned a very small massage therapist who made him feel too big to get the treatment. The RMT was panting just trying to give him a basic massage and didn't have the strength to work through his muscles. He was disappointed but didn't want to ruin the experience for me so he didn't speak up. For $200 a person I expect the facility to be able to pair us with a capable RMT and walk out of there happy. What was most frustrating: - they have a strict no phone policy. If you want to come here and take a photo to show your friends and family (obviously an Instagram worthy destination...) it's not happening. I understand this is to preserve the silent environment but they are really extra about it. There are men who walk around in all black clothing with radios who shut down anyone that has their phone. My partner was inside the building sending me a text asking where I was and one of the men came inside to tell him to put his phone away because he thought he was taking a picture through the glass. While were were leaving I walked onto the wooden walkway out front and took one last glance at the hot pools - both men in black (Not even the Will Smith kind either) glared up at me until we walked away. When my partner and I finally joined up for 15 min between our massage appointments one of the men in black came up to me and indicated that I was talking too loud and I needed to chill... we were beside the waterfall in the water with one other couple on the other side of the pool.. I was simply speaking at the necessary tone to speak over the sound of the waterfall. Finally, when I came out of my massage at approx. 6pm my partner was standing inside. He said the pools were so full that he didn't feel comfortable being out there because of COVID. I went outside and it looked as though they weren't metering people *at all* after the sun went down. All of the hot rooms and saunas were closed so the only place people can go is out into the pools and they were so full people were pushing others to hang up their robes and get in.. Not cool. This place could be great but we got a lot of negative energy from the high cost, strict rules (Note: that arent COVID related..) and generally disinterested staff. The prices are way too high for me to be feeling this way. I had higher expectations that were not met. (P.S. - My RMT Sue was great! Thanks Sue!
Very relaxing, clean and quite. The location is nice. If you are planning to get massage, book early. Bring your own bathrobe
Visited here to purchase a gift certificate for my wife. From what I saw while there the experience looks to be amazing. Here’s hoping my wife enjoys a nice spa day to herself when she finally gets to use her gift.
This spa is truely amazing! The staff are very helpful and being someone who's LGBTQ+, they made me feel comfortable, relaxed and safe. The Nordic baths are great anyone hoping to soak in its restorative waters. It's so quiet and peaceful here, just what I need when getting away from the City.
Drove 2.5 hours to spend the day at Scandinave Spa with my daughter only to learn that the eucalyptus steam room - the main part of the experience - was closed. We both took vacation days from work. Confirmed our visit the day before. Wasted a car rental, tank of gas, time, and vacation days. The spa offered a refund but we can't get rental, gas, time, and vacation days back. Apparently the steam room had been closed for days because they were waiting for parts. Scandinave Spa could have easily avoided this disappointment and financial loss by putting a notice on their website, emailing, or texting all customers about the issue. A simple courtesy email is the least they could have done. All I got was a "sorry". What was meant to be a day of relaxation was the exact opposite - a huge disappointment and huge financial loss.
Initially we had the appointment for 10h45, moments after we booked, they called me saying that the appointment was.moved for 12h due to increased cleaning for covid. Got to the spa was 10h55, thinking we were way ahead and the counter tell us that the appointment was for 10h45. Tried to explain the situation and he answers that he doesn't know. Got inside and during the massage both me and my wife felt that the masseuse were rushing and our massage was cut down to 40min. No one was able to explain nor did they care to figure out. They just cut our time for a 190$ massage. To top it off, the gift card had an extra 20$ and when we went to the bar they said they couldn't accept that, we had to pay debit or credit. So there goes 40 min of massage and 20$ Thanks, thought we were paying for the service, but I guess it's just a name...
A relaxing afternoon enjoying the baths with the girls. Beautiful and peaceful Spa to escape too!
This place just strips away years of stress in no time. Such a relaxing, tranquil place.
Had an amazing and relaxing time! Booked an early morning massage which was great. Went out to enjoy the pools after and there is a variety of hot & cool baths which are all outdoors. Also plenty of areas to lounge around and relax with cabanas, hammocks and lawn chairs as well as steam rooms and saunas which were all included with the massage. We enjoyed our stay and left feeling refreshed and relaxed!
Update from October 6th. I used to love this place so much and it's heart breaking for me to leave this review. However I hope this will encourage staff to take some constructive measures. The price went up by 20 dollars as one has to pre-book the visit. There is an option to be on a wait list for regular price but there is no guarantee to get in. So if you are driving from far you have to pay additional 20 dollars to get in otherwise the drive might be for nothing. - At the moment only 2 hot pools and 2 cold pools are open. They are so overchlorinated that my bathing suit changed colour at the end of my stay there. My eyes were also burning this time so I'm assuming they increased the amount of chlorine that goes into the pools. - All saunas are closed. Even though the heat kills the virus the saunas are closed. - in women's change rooms, there are no hair dryers. Supposedly they spread covid and you should know better and bring your own. I had to drive home for 2 hr with wet hair. It's pretty long and I wonder how this is going to work out in winter months. People can get sick from walking out into cold air with wet hair. - the staff sprays sanitizer every few minutes on benches, railings, hammocks, and so on. I wonder what chemicals are in the bottles. As 60-80% of what you put on your skin gets absorbed into your circulation. It's too much. People are already bathing in chlorine and adding more chlorine into seats and railings is just too much in my opinion. Also, it is quite destructive seeing people constantly spraying everything. Hard to relax. So with the price increase, chemical increase and decrease access in other facilities like the saunas I think it is not worth going there now. Maybe when things get back to normal, things at Scandinavian Spa will also improve. Thank you, Your customer for the last 10 years
This was my first time visiting this spa, and I WILL be returning! One of the best experiences ever. Staff were very friendly and helpful, lots of health and safety measures in place to make me feel very safe, everything was very clean. Me and my partner each had a massage, massage therapists 10/10! We enjoyed the baths afterwards, it was very peaceful. I loved everything about this, left feeling extremely relaxed and pampered.
I have been going there for years! This year was really bad. The staff was rude, behaved like angry teachers. The slightest noise we made was addressed with scolding. We understand it is a quite enjoyment place, but their behaviour was unacceptable. In particular from a guy named Tom from whom my 2 friends and I felt threatened. After completely ruining our experience he followed us to the steam room to continue to "teach", us now how to use the facilities and not to overdo it. At this point we started going to the pools and sauna watching for him. I then saw him laughing with 2 other women, who were really loud. We left quickly as the mood was gone and rather than relax we kept looking if Tom will appear from somewhere. This place used to cost $55 and now is $85 and the service is awful, with the exception of the lovely lady that gives out the towels, so for her and the facilities you get 2 stars. There is nothing else like it, so obviously people will go, but good customer service and empowering your staff with goodness won't hurt the business for sure!
Returned to Scandinave for a second time to try a session after dark and it was incredible. Even though it was -15 outside (even colder with the wind chill) it was comfortable in the hot tubs. Will return, thanks for the great visit.
Visited before stage 3 opening in Ontario. Max capacity of 80 people and it was perfectly staffed and observed. Highly recommend spending time doing the pool circuit and my massage from Yuri was incredible. Turn off your phone and feel your stress melt in relaxing silence.
Beautiful Spa and great place to retreat. Came for a day away from the city and it was so worth the drive. The environment was so friendly and the staff are genuinely incredible. I am a type one diabetic so it was insightful to hear how I could be best aware of the intense temperature changes and the effects on my blood sugar. I had booked a massage which I had before having the opportunity to indulge in the baths and steam rooms. There are two saunas on site and I would recommend the less heat intensive sauna. The steam room was an experience as well. They have two bath pools a hot and a cold. I loved the hot bath and the cold winter air. I will definitely be returning.
We enjoyed our time at the spa, but it is not worth the cost. It was pretty dirty, even being there very early and not even at the busiest time there was quite a bit of hair floating in the water. The robes and towels aren’t very soft, definitely better to bring your own. It got pretty packed in there by the time we were leaving, not exactly a lot of room for that many people, definitely gets over crowded at the busy times. We did leave there feeling relaxed despite these things.
4 stars for not including the robes with towels (you have to pay for them separately). Other than that, the spa is great, relaxing and fun. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, the steam room is not available but all the Sauna rooms are open.
I have been going here for many years and this is one of my favorite places to relax. The atmosphere and surroundings are ideal for getting away from the city. Staff are professional and courteous. The facilities are well maintained and clean. The various elements from the hydration cycles are amazing and it's always so difficult to leave that place.
Had an amazing and relaxing experience at the spa. Can't wait to go back!
I've been to scandinave spa multiple times before but during my recent visit, I had a very pleasant time. Considering covid has made it difficult to enjoy any activities, the staff at scandinave spa ensured all safety measures are taken into consideration while you enjoy the experience.
Had a great time at the tremblant location, was expecting the same thing here. Instead I got an experience that was supremely mediocre. Tremblant had comfy places to lay down, a large number of heaters and there was none of that. It was freezing, end of October weather, with no heaters and you either could lay down in on an uncomfortable wicker bed or sit in a muskoka chair. Who can peacefully relax on those types of loungers? It might seem like a small detail but it matters. Being cold and miserable outside of a pool or sauna is not it.
Everytine I go it gets better. Relaxation takes practice and as winter approaches its relaxation training season. Gotta get ready for dem slopes. I recommend everyone do this place at least once or twice in their life.
yeah this place is quite fun, food is below average for a place like this. Staff was very helpful and professional, some idiots were walking around with phones. I was told no phones were allowed we is great idea to protect everyone privacy and avoid disturbing others but there are always those specials one who are above the public and can't live without their CELLPHONES!
I was really surprised to be utterly disappointed with my experience here especially because it is such a highly recognized spa. The ambience was not calming, and I found the overall interior design (halls, rooms, dressing, shower, and washroom facilities) to be dated and not esthetically pleasing. The baths were just OK, did not find them to be very relaxing- a bit small and a little dirty with foliage and natural dirt from nearby forest and it is far from a serene environment. There are A LOT of non- Covid related rules which I felt was a bit exaggerated, but what bothered me the most is that employees at the spa literally WATCH you when you are at the baths. They are trying to make sure that no one is breaking rules such as using their cellphones, but I found it very invasive and uncomfortable. My guess is that the darker windows on the upper level of the main building facing the baths is where they “WATCH” you or they must have some really intricate hidden cameras. Moving forward, I would not recommend this place.
Compared to the Nordik Spa (which is right by downtown Ottawa), this was a much less enjoyable experience. So glad that Nordik is opening the Thermea spa in Whitby in 2022. Regarding masks: they say that folks have to have masks on in all indoor locations, but we found out that doesn't apply to the saunas, which are indoors. There were several people unmasked in the saunas, and this was allowed by attendants. Scandinave insists that guests are quiet, almost silent at all times, unlike Nordik where there are conversational, quieter, and silent areas. At Scandinave, they kept shushing people. I prefer having choices about whether I want to chat/laugh or relax/meditate. Scandinave has no restaurants or poolside cafes for meals/snacks/drinks. Nordik is so much better, given they have outdoor and indoor restaurants/bars where you can snack/eat/chat/socialize. Scandinave is pretty small, overall. It has a small number of pools/saunas/relaxation areas. Still, they have enough space to designate some conversation-allowed areas. Would make the experience much more enjoyable and comprable to Nordik.
Came here with my wife for her birthday this week. Booked her in for a massage and I went to the bath while waiting for her massage to finish. I read reviews prior to my arrival and two things stuck out. 1. Complaints about wait times 2. Complaints about being asked to keep quiet by the Shush Police. I'll address both of these things in my review. 1. We came on a Monday and, even then, the baths appeared surprisingly crowded. I can only imagine what weekends look like, which is when I believe most people encounter the long waits. After my visit, I can say that I appreciate their attempts to manage the number of people they let inside. Overcrowding can definitely ruin the experience. Especially when it comes to managing noise; which leads to #2... 2. There are no less than 100 signs around the bath area asking people to keep quiet. It's surprising how many people can't help but to get loud and annoying while in the bath area. So it was nice to see the burly dudes in the black jackets lean over and tell the small noisy crowds to pipe down. The experience was a great one overall. It was -1C outside and it was nice to have the snow falling while in the pool. And staff happily replaced my robe after someone accidentally took mine while I was in the sauna. As for advice to readers, remember to bring a water bottle with you. Between the 40C pools, the saunas and the steam room, you can lose a lot of fluids.
Spent the whole day and it was great to disconnect and just relax. Also had a massage which also helped.
This spa had abruptly changed their vaccination policy with no notice provided. This resulted in a personal loss of a few hundred bucks as we had booked a hotel for this visit only. Their booking system can also use an upgrade as it can be very slow during peak periods.
Great experience. Staff was amazing and it was extremely clean!
Very quiet (they shush people making too much noise). Went with a massage and the baths. Baths really add value to the massage.
This was my first time visiting the Scandinave Spa (SS). I opted to go on a Monday based on the FAQs/Twitter feeds from this location. While I understand most people are only available during the weekends, it is a huge difference if you are able to go during the weekday. I did not experience any wait times and was able to access the facility right away! I accessed the baths so can only speak on that experience and it was a good one. I can see how the line ups can be long because people do spend hours relaxing! Hot and cold baths, sauna, steam rooms, solarium's, hammocks, lounge chairs, fire pits...plus it's outdoors in nature. I cannot say I would do this in the heart of winter but I experienced it during the fall temperatures (10 degrees) and still found it enjoyable.
It’s just amazing. I love outdoor spas. The weather was snowing and gusts of wind carried ice which is cooling when you are in the hot pools. The spa is silent and unplugged. The problem I had is that people did not respect the silence rule. Getting into this place is next too impossible and a very stressful experience. The exact opposite of the de-stressing spa experience one hopes to have. People lineup outside the property in their cars before opening and then line up on the property to get a spot on the wait list. The locker system was secure and you got a waterproof bracelet to wear during your time which opened your locker. I wish we could also use the bracelet to pay for items (similar to Iceland’s Blue Lagoon). The food was very expensive and portion sizes were small (Typical of places with captive consumers). The options were limited especially if you are vegan. Overall the food was healthy but not especially tasty. Loved the tea.
Pricey but so beautiful. It really makes you feel like you're on a mini holiday. I booked in for a massage and used the outdoor spa services. The massage was definitely a relaxation massage vs working out any tension but it was nice. The sheer amount of options when using the outdoor services was amazing. Very clean, very quiet. My only complaint was that I thought the dining area would be more like a restaurant, instead it's sort of run like a take out place, where you order from a select menu board and sit down to eat. The food unfortunately wasn't as impressive as its surroundings.
Enjoy a relaxing getaway from the city. This place offers massages, spa treatments, unlimited hot pool, saunas, polar dip. They have staff around reminding ppl not to talk or speaking loud. Open year round
We went for the baths and to take a break from busy lifestyles. Loved the atmosphere, the variety of saunas and baths. A tad over priced but still worth the price nonetheless
This was my second time here, first time during covid. Everything was clean and I had a pleasant experience at the baths. It was quite windy and I fell off my hammock, but a kind attendant noticed and asked if I was ok as he saw me take a tumble. Thank you for always looking out for the safety of your guests. Will be back in the near future ☺️
Had a very nice and relaxing time. Got here around 5:30 and it wasn't overly busy. Had a massage at 6:30 and after that the we only a few people left until close. (this was a Tuesday). Very clean. There was a great stream sauna that smelled of eucalyptus... Only issue is that even the hot baths went that hot. Otherwise had a great relaxing time. Hammocks, deck chairs, and larger round chairs (could can fit) to relax in after your hot-cold sequence. Burning fire to warn you if you're chilled. It was a cooler summer evening when we went, so it was very relaxing. I don't think I'd want to be there in the heat of the day.
Love the set up at this one. Its nice and spread out. Some of the other Scandinavian spas like Quebec was too tight. I'd definitely recommend going here.
The hot and cold bath cycle at the Scandinave had me feeling AMAZING after. I spent a little longer than recommended in the cold pool then went straight to the steam room and it felt awesome!!! Love the atmosphere and tranquility here ????????
Things I will bring if I go again: a book, a reusable water bottle- they have dispensers around the spa to refill your bottle.. Trust me you will NEED water after an hour you get so dehydrated, chapstick, a robe (We paid to rent ours, and mine got swiped from me in the change room), an extra hair towel & wash cloth (shampoo, conditioner and body wash are supplied in the shower in dispensers) They also supply lots of different body moisturizers in the change room but I was dying for some face moisturizer on our long drive home. We also brought sandals which is definitely needed! The baths/saunas are Ok.. they can get boring fast. I think it depends on your mood that day though. We arrived at 430 and had to wait until 745 for our massages. That seemed a little too long but, had I brought a book, or something I could have enjoyed the down time. Some people there also dont respect the need for silence which also was very annoying..And boy was my fiance ticked at a girl who was clearly drunk or on drugs who seemingly followed us from room to room and pool to pool and was SO LOUD and making out hardcore with her boyfriend. We got a couples massage and we both thought that it was just 'Ok' as well. Could have used more pressure and something we found annoying, was that we did the health form before going to the spa so we didn't have to waste time and we still ended up paying for 8-10 minutes of waiting around time for our massages. Also for what was supposed to be a relaxing atmosphere the floors were very creeky as the massures walked around. My masseuse kept stopping and I wasn't sure what he was doing.. I wanted to say hey.. is everything ok.. why do you keep stopping?!? All in all we would go again maybe in a year but we definitely aren't dying to go again.
Hubby and I spent a very relaxing Saturday here. Tranquil and peaceful, this was our first spa experience together and thoroughly recommend this place. Will definitely be coming back. Already making plans to go to their Mont Tremblant location as we will be in the area in the next couple of months. Getting gift certificates for my family members for Christmas so they can try it as well!
Very relaxing experience. Thank you!
I enjoyed my visit to the spa. Venue and number of services were not quite as high end as I was thinking it would be - but I'm OK with that. Book a massage to be guaranteed entry to the pools. Booking times are kind of insanely way out …
Great escape from the everyday at any time of year. Staff was very accommodating and their prices are good too. Small cafe inside offering snacks and drinks. Massage was well done with little to no wait time. The pools were empty enough to enjoy while still maintaining a romantic/relaxing atmosphere. Take a loved one, or go on your own, but either way you need to check this place out for sure!
Amazing, relaxing, quiet, beautiful, serene. Incredible customer service, top shelf massage (thanks Allison), awesome facilities. Definitely will come back with more friends!
The baths, sauna and steam rooms are nice and I would considering it a daily routine if it was closer, much closer. To drive 2 hours for the experience may as well be a one time endeavour. Other then that, the facility is clean and well kept. Even though it was busy, I didn't feel like it was too crowded. We had the couples massage and it was meh. Nothing special.
Came here as part of our honeymoon getaway. Very peaceful and relaxing. Massages were great. My wife said her massage (by Jagen?) was one of the best she's ever had. Baths were really nice but it was a bit too busy for our liking. Saunas and steam rooms with no masks and several people inside didn't feel that safe. It got less busy around 5pm and felt more comfortable.
Went there to feel good but the staff are very rude and racist which made me feel worst, the moment when me and my sister got there into the bath therapy the guys that watch that area start integrating us and asking us why we here, we should not talk which we can clearly see the sign that it’s quite area, and asking us every time we used washroom that where we going. They even told us that we will kick you out if we see you talking and we were even loud and at the main time there were white couple laughing out loud across the pool which no one said anything. I felt so disgusted by there action just because our skin is brown we were treated different and got different experience. You guys should DO BETTER.
Scandinavian spa in blue mountains is a very beautiful place. The best part of this place are the baths. The bath setting is so divine, very picturesque. We went on a snow day and it couldn't be any more beautiful. However baths are on first come first served basis and you cannot get appointment for them. So there can be wait time for 2-3 hours based on what time you reach there. It's best to reach there in the morning and then you can go to blue mountain village during the wait time. To avoid wait time we booked massage at Scandinavian spa. You don't have to wait for bath if you have massage booked. We were very excited for both massage and bath. The reason I gave 3 star to this place is because of the massage experience. As good are the baths here, I would say the massage is a big rip off. The massage therapist are definitely not inclined and motivated towards giving a good experience to clients. They will listen to your problems in short, will talk nicely to you but won't work on your problem areas. I asked my therapist several times to use more pressure on my legs but no change. It felt like she was just putting some oil on my feet and slowly rubbing them. My 8 year old can do better. My husband went through the same experience with a different therepist. Just not happy no pressure applied just some rubbing here and there. We had massages several times at different places. Would call this place the worst in giving massage. After coming out of the room chatted with other couple who was not happy with the massage they received as well. They had similar experience, therapist doesn't want to use any pressure , not listening to what you are requesting them. My therapist never ever gave massage on my hands. It was a 60 minutes massage and she couldn't find time to rub my hands. Surely the therapists are not inclined in giving good experience to clients. They know people come here mainly for baths and their business still keeps running whatever they do at massage. I will highly recommend this place for baths but not at all for massage until they change their attitude!!
What a great experience! Beautiful and very relaxing place, very well maintained, lots of options for your choice of relaxation, 3 different saunas, a few different pools with hot and cold water. Super cozy setting by real fire, lots of …
Terrible customer service experience. Water was dirty. Power was off and on again, no service guarantee or actual attempt to make it up to us, although we reserved weeks in advance, booked a hotel drove 3 hours and took days off specifically for this experience. You have made this a monopoly and are having it your way, really hope you will have a competition soon in the area to realize how to treat your guests.
Such a cool experience and very relaxing. I came here on a cool winter day and it was a beautiful and peaceful place to be. They are committed to your experience and I appreciate that they'll tell other guests to be quiet if they're talking too loudly. Don't expect there to be much to eat, there is a bistro inside that does cold sandwiches/salads and hot beverages such as tea and coffee. The menu is very limited. You can bring your own food to eat there, I'll definitely do this next time to complete my experience!
