One of the best family vacations we have had in a while. Beautiful resort. Lots of amenities. Kid and pet friendly. Beautiful beach, hikes and close by to many national parks and restaurants (downtown Huntsville is less than 10 mins drive away).

Travelled as a family with two toddlers. We arrived early at 330 pm and when we parked and texted the number they said our room was ready which was amazing after I had read that many people had to wait hours. We then went to the front desk to get our keys and welcome package and were only given keys and when asked about the amenities, breakfast, arcades and etc., the staff just brushed us off as if he was busy. After we went up my husband went down alone and asked for our package with the wristbands and it was another staff member and they gave him the package. We stayed in the main building in the standard room. Pros:Hot water and pressure was excellent. not much noise from hallway and other rooms. beds were super comfortable. Cons:The room was older and outdated. The AC unit was so loud the girls kept waking. High beds, something I never understood with most hotels especially family friendly ones, toddlers and children can fall and get hurt. Breakfast, we did the bed and breakfast rate as we didn't want to drive every morning with two small children. The breakfast was okay nothing great and we tried new things everyday. The coffee in my opinion wasn't very good at all. However, as it saved us packing up and buckling in two toddlers every morning it was fine. Maybe should have selected the kitchenette room. The grounds were beautiful and relaxing however I didn't realise they didn't have any play area for toddlers. We went mid September so we knew most water activities wouldn't be available. The girls played with the sand and the large Muskoka chair and the pool. The pool was standard pool area with a hot tub. It does not have a shallow end so please have floaties for children. The change rooms smell (probably due to being carpeted) and are very outdated. We booked the arcades and the $10 fee was fine however $1-2 per game was a bit much, less than 20 minutes we were at $50. Had they priced games at 25-50 cents I would have booked a few times instead of once.We noticed no one booked it other than us the first night and one other family the second night. It was a lovely experience, understandably that certain activities were off limits due to weekday, not prime summer and covid. However, very over priced, did not feel welcoming by most staff only a handful of staff were amazing. Would not do again as staying on the resort there wasn't very much to do. Other than 9 hole golf, walks and pool. On a positive visiting Huntsville down the road great Kawartha ice cream shop, a wonderful fish and chip place in town with an outdoor play area while you eat.

Some activities are free, a lot of the good ones are paid :( . Would NOT recommend the wall climbing whatsoever. Some of the staff aren’t very helpful sometimes but nice. Hotel room very nice.

Stayed at the summit lodge for 4 nights with a very large group. The lodge has a great common room that we used quite a bit. The kitchenette was well stocked. We brought lots of our own food to make and eat. We brought dishwasher tabs, and our own dish soap but they did have a small bit there. Bring your own beach towels. There is laundry in the building and you need loonies and quarters for it. The resort is cashless right now due to covid so we could not get any change at the front desk. There were lots of chairs and loungers available to sit on. Everything was kept very clean. There was a pull out sofa in our room and two double beds. There was no daily room cleaning due to covid. The beach are was fantastic and had the cleanest Porta potties I've ever been in. I used pink for girls! You can drive down to the beach area which is convenient with a cooler full of drinks and snacks! The guys had a burrito bowl from the van parked by the beach and they liked it. The indoor pool was also nice on the night it rained.it is open to 9pm. The other pools close at 7 that are outdoors. For being sold out, it seemed like there was still lots of space. The tree top trekking was amazing for our daughter who is 9, and the adults loved it too. The guys had a fun time at paintball and doing the zipline wakeboarding. The golf was also really good for everyone that did it. There was nice patio furniture outside on our balcony. Make sure you've got lots of food and snacks and a cooler on wheels to take to the beach! The kids loved the paddle boards, kayaks etc. We never had a problem getting one. We loved our stay here and we will definitely come back again

Great getaway. Peaceful, quiet place to relax. Weeds are a little overgrown but rooms are clean and rustic looking. Everything you need is here except a place to smoke. Stairs are a major problem for us old folk too. Lots of stairs if you want to get to the dock/water for a swim.

Very disappointing given the high prices and rich history. While the staff are very helpful, the accomodations are dated and the dining is very poor quality at both Endless Grill and Antlers Steak House. Our best meal was from Boston Pizza in Huntsville at a fraction of the resort prices.

This place is barely keeping up with house keeping and services. The hotel floor was old as 20 year old carpet. Elavator smells like rotten beer and drywall dust. Beds ar okay. The wash room is about 40 years old. If you wanted something back in time go here. Staff very friendly.

CANADA GOOSE PARADISE. They are everywhere. They poo all over the golf course and disc golf course. One horrific scene I saw was 30-40 Canada geese floating at the main beach at night. Only great thing of note about the resort was the complimentary canoe/kayak rental. The staff there were very nice.

Not a good destination for young families. Aside from a pool and beach young kids can’t do much. They should put in a playground especially for the days when it’s too cold for outdoor water play. All very young staff and not very helpful. Requested a pack and play crib 3 times before it was dropped off in our room. We even had the request on file before arriving.

Room was a little tired, service was so so. Not very many people so expected better. Pool and hot tub were nice with very few people using them.

Beautiful resort. Very spacious units, even though we had one bedroom overlooking the lake. Kitchen was very well equipped. All the utensils were there. Appliances worked well. Comfortable beds. Best of all the staff is very friendly and helpful except one day (June 9) the attended in golf office was very cocky with lots of attitude which we did not allow to spoil our vacation. Definitely we recommend this resort ????

We were not impressed by the new lakeside condo room we booked for way too much money a night. The condo was way too small and crammed. The two bedrooms were quite small with hardly any space to move around or for any furniture to speak of. In the smaller bedroom you couldn't open the closet door fully without hitting the bed. The room was not stocked well, with many items missing which made it frustrating to have to call housekeeping 4 or 5 times. Dishes were left in the dishwasher for us to clear out. The dishwasher had a funny smell which made the dishes that came out of it smelly. We complained about this but nothing was done. Not to mention the place was not cleaned properly as we observed smudges on the fridge and walls. The resort is full of families with children running around all over the place. It would be nice if some areas were reserved for adults only. Pool rules and resort rules were posted but most people ignored them as people had small children in the hot tub and were smoking, drinking and eating in pool areas. Pool areas such as the ones located in the summit were not supervised therefore we had to put up with loud screaming and jumping in the pool, etc. For the money we paid, we did not enjoy our stay! Too many issues for us to contend with. Sorry, Deerhurst, but we won't be back.

This place is clearly 125 years old, despite paying over $700 for two nights we came to a room with these highlights: - a puddle on hallway - the source being a closet which was locked - the building stinks (literally) - a wet carpet by the back door - water damaged and water logged - stained furniture - a view of the parking lot - crumbs all over the floor in the living room and on the couch. Clearly not vacuumed or cleaned before we arrived - a fireplace that doesn’t work - a random hole in the wall For a place that’s so expensive, it could afford to at least maintain its buildings. I have never stayed in such an outdated dirty place. Save your money and go to the best western. I also called the front desk to report the leaks and water damage and they sent someone to mop the floor up and that’s it. No new room. No one answers when you call. No help no customer service. We are unfortunately stuck here for the weekend. Don’t stay here it’s a total tourist trap and the rooms are ancient and dirty. So disappointed ????
