Sometimes it takes a while to find an RMT that you can connect with. It can be real hit and miss. You don't like their technique(s) or they seem rushed to get you in and out or don't seem too interested in helping you resolve the pains or issues of why you are there. Or you simply just don't "click". Sometimes it's just to treat yourself. Sometimes it's because you have some aches and pains that just don't want to go away. Over the years I have been to numerous Massage Therapy companies looking for that "just right" therapist. Sure some were okay and some were disappointing. Some I went to were higher priced thinking they might be "better". Some were lower priced and proved you get what you pay for. About a year ago, maybe a little longer, I decided to give Urban Massage and Wellness a try and booked an appointment with Samantha Wiggins. I can tell you that I found the RMT that I am the most pleased with. She is very professional while being personable. Samantha has always taken the time to understand what the trouble points are and with the therapy she has always had spot on stretching exercises to follow up with at home. Samantha has always taken the time to answer questions and explain things. I really don't want to give Samantha Wiggins a great review because it will take longer to get an appointment with her because she is so great at what she does - but how can I not? If you have read this far then you have obviously figured out that I would give SAMANTHA WIGGINS 7 out of 5 stars. I highly, highly highly recommend her. Urban Massage has been very accommodating in fitting in appointments. Once I needed assistance with a referral that Nicole was able to help me with that worked out very well. A company is only as good as the people working for it. Urban Massage and Wellness is a great company. For transparency - I am not in anyway affiliated with Urban Massage or with Samantha Wiggins other than a very satisfied client.

I cannot recommend Howl Jenkins enough! I saw him for a massage with a focus on my neck/shoulders (experience headaches) and my calves/feet (plantar fasciitis). Howl was very attentive to ensure I was comfortable throughout the massage. And also gave me "homework" to do at home, to ensure I'm stretching the right muscles to help relieve the headaches and foot pain between sessions. I've never had a massage therapist give me homework before. So this was much appreciated!

After experiencing some frustration during a horse back riding lesson I learned my body was out of alignment. It had not occurred to me that my hips were uneven nor my shoulders yet they were and more importantly this misalignment was preventing me from riding the horse in an effective way. I was super impressed with the multi faceted approach Nicole took. She assessed my body then adjusted me with Manual Osteopathy. Once my alignment was proper she worked her relaxation magic with traditional massage and Yumana Body Rolling. This combination was magical! I left feeling excellent and so happy to report that weeks have passed and my body is staying in alignment and feels better than it has in years. Nicole is a true healer and very talented. Her warm friendly approach make the experience pleasurable as well as therapeutic.

As a tradesman, I have a physical job. Earlier this year I began having issues with tennis elbow in my right arm. I saw a doctor, took all the pills and tried to rest the arm - but it seemed to make no difference. I went to see Howl Jenkins and he worked his magical massage powers on me. The stretching he recommended was novel and beneficial. After several visits I found my pain had dissipated and my range of motion was restored. I found that just a couple of sessions with Nicole did more for me than what WCB provided. I am not the easiest customer, as I have to deal with MS as well as chronic pain. All you have to do is point Nicole in the right direction, and this is were it gets hard to explain. Nicole has this non -verbal communication and lets your body tell her fingers what needs to be done. I still am amazed what she can do with those fingers, I get more relief from her than I do from the the OXYCODONE my Doctor prescribes. You really have to just give it a try, you wil get the results you are looking for.

I would highly recommend Nicole and Urban Massage and Wellness, to anyone looking for pain relief. She’s been amazing! After doing physio, spending big money on accupucture because benefits didn’t cover it, getting massages often and seeing my chiropractor sporadically, no one was able to fix my neck and shoulder issues. They would feel better for a short period of time, like a bandaid fix, but the pain would always return. Pain is one thing and with constant aching, but the dizziness I would experience some days was unreal! This went on for 8-10 months! I had finally had enough and was referred to go and see Nicole through a family member. She was immediately able to pinpoint the cause of my muscle pain just by looking at my posture, relieve that pain and ultimately resolve the dizziness! Just two short sessions and I was back in line and feeling amazing. She’s very knowledgeable, thorough, and definitely worth booking an appointment with.

Before going to UM&W I had trouble finding the right RMT who I felt comfortable with, who listened to my concerns and who could help me with my pain management. I have been seeing Dannielle S. for my massages and she is outstanding. She is thoughtful, explains how everything works, and truly cares about her clients. She has offered to try new (to me) techniques to help me with my pain. I've never tried Rapid and cupping, but I am so glad she did! These new techniques and methods are part of a process to help reduce the pain I experience. She is a great RMT and I know giving her rave reviews will make it harder for me to book appointments with her :), but she is so awesome, I cannot hold back my honest feedback. I also want to give a kudos to the clinic. They have been outstanding with their COVID-19 protocols, processes, and safety measures. I feel safe when booking with UM&W, and when visiting the clinic. Urban Wellness is a fantastic and professional massage therapy clinic. Finding a good massage therapist that listens to what your concerns are and understands how to fix those problems is hard to find but I've found my go-to in Richard at UW. I highly recommend him as he's professional, extremely knowledgeable in his practice and takes time to truly understand the patients needs while taking time at the end of sessions to give you stretches to go home with to prevent future damage. Ask for Richard if you're in the market for a massage therapist that listens to your needs and alleviates chronic pain!

I was feeling a lot of tension and stress the past week from work and from the holiday season. I booked my first appointment at Urban Massage with Richard. He did a quick assessment on me, and knew what areas to work on. He massaged and targeted specific muscles on my back and legs. He knew exactly what he was doing and got the knots out of back. After an hour I felt a big relieve of tension disappeared and felt so much better. I already have my next appointment set up to see him again.

My daughter had an appointment with Teri Dawson and talked me into making an appointment with her too. I was scared but once I was in there with Teri, she made me very relaxed and kept talking to me too take my mind off of the massage and to relax, that I really did do and made another appointment with her. Comfortable space and very good massage. I was a little chilly but didn't say anything so she didn't have a chance to fix it. Taken aback by the payment systems option to have a tip added. And then after I didn't add one I felt there was an uncomfortable silence which discourages me from going back. This is a professional service covered by my health benefits plan. AND it was $95 for an hour massage which is on the high end. How much of that is trickling down to my therapist? If it is so little that he/she needs to be tipped like the restaurant industry where workers make minimum wage, there is a problem. I think it denigrates the profession to have this option. I wouldn't dream of tipping the chiropractor or physiotherapist. I realize they make more money however they also train significantly more... At $95/hour, the business owner needs to pay my RMT a very good wage. Probably an old debate but it is my first encounter with it.

Hello, I never write a review, but I had to be another person saying what I read in the reviews is true and to encourage any and all people in tremendous pain in their body that Yes, it can change at this place. I have fibromyalgia and very bad scoliosis (seeing a great chiropractor for that already for three years) and bad neck and TMJ from a car accident in 2003. Long story short, I was never treated properly from 2003 and over the years of working and then not working I got very weak, sick and now fibromyalgia for three years really bad. On Monday, I could hardly walk around the house my pain is so bad. I am not even driving I have so much pain. So I had my first session with Nicole with manual osteopathy b/c the reviews made me curious that I cancelled all my other appointments for that week. It was so safe, gentle, powerful, amazing experience. My spine adjusted 3 to 5 times so nicely and peacefully in the first 5 minutes! What? I could not even do that with my wonderful chiropractor for the last 3 months b/c my muscles are too tight. I don't know Nicole and my body did that. Wow! My body felt safe to have my hips corrected b/c they are out. She did that in a few minutes. I felt energy move along my spine and go into my hands and I never had that ever before during any session. The next day, I had way more energy and felt more alive and excited and ended up going for a walk 3 times during the day outside. I also noticed the energy is still moving along my spine today so its like something kicked in energetically and is now flowing off and on during the day and it feels great! It was always blocked b/c of my scoliosis. I feel thankful and grateful to finding Nicole and to all the people who gave reviews because they gave me Hope to try this form of therapy; since I never heard of it before. I read more on it to understand the difference between chiro and osteopathy. I, too, was doing chiro weekly, acupuncture and massage biweekly for many months, and it was helping. However, my time, energy and money will be towards manual osteopathy for the next while. I am actually going to save money and have more energy! Yeah!! I am getting my life back finally. I know it!

After trying many different therapists and massage clinics I've finally found a place that works! The clinic is beautiful, quiet, super clean and perfectly located by St. Albert mall. The staff provide amazing treatments (helped my bad shoulder and neck) and very friendly. Oh and the massage tables here are incredibly comfortable!

This morning I had made an appointment with Jennifer, and unfortunately something came up very last minute and I wasn't able to make the appointment. I called the clinic and they were very understanding and accommodating for me, even though I know it was a huge inconvenience. I sincerely appreciate it. I have visited Urban massage as I am roofer and have constant pain in lower back. Even I have benefits decided to try student massage as one of my friends referred me to Howl Jenkins. Howl was professional, asked me few key questions to access my health. After that we have picked therapy and as soon as he started you can tell he knows how to find knots and even I am regular patient with other RMT you can tell Howl is a quick learner. He was better then some other experienced RMT's. My back were not sour any more and Howl recommended some exercise to do at home to heal better. Payment was super easy and I like email option for receipt. Save the planet. Thanks Howl and Urban Massage. Will be back for sure

Nice space and location, with extremely friendly staff. However, the massage room was incredibly warm with no air flow, and the massage was not good. I feel like advertising for pregnancy massage should mean there are appropriate massage tables for pregnant women, and proper temperature control. Not worth the money.

I've been going to see Joshua Gibbon for about 7 months now. I have incredibly tight calves and forearms and he's been able to do deep pressure massage to help work the muscles and experience some relief. I no longer have a numb thumb and my knee I hurt years ago benefits greatly from deep tissue. Josh has also followed up every massage with stretches that I can do at home to help relieve the tightness. Highly recommended.

I found this little gem of a massage place during one of my many business trips to from Los Angeles to Edmonton. This is a high quality center with very friendly staff. Went for my very first RNFR Massage with Danielle and I feel like a brand new woman. For anyone who is looking to eliminate their pain, I would definitely recommend giving this a try. I've tried so many different healing modalities like physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture, IMS, ART, yoga and I've never had so much relief in such a short time. The procedure itself is a little uncomfortable but the affects are immediate and I can tell already it will be long lasting. Definitely must try :)

I've been shopping around for my "go to" massage place for the past few months and I think I may have found it at Urban Massage & Wellness. I love their online booking feature. Also noteable on their website is how you can read through a detailed profile of all the massage therapists and their specialties, which they have a very wide variety of. Cupping, hot stone, acupuncture, reiki, they offer anything you might be looking for. The building is wonderful, clean, welcoming, and relaxing. I loved the massage table, sheets were soft, bed was warm, and there were padded arms for my arms to rest on when I was laying face down, which I love because I never know where to put my arms! My therapist was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable about the body and different treatments she and her colleageues could offer, and she fixed the issue that was bothering me and the reason for my visit. I will be back. Thanks guys!

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are nice, and the tables extremely comfortable and state of the art. I have been going to massage treatments for many years. The knowledge the owner brings, and teachers her staff I have never experienced from other clinics. My body is riddled with work injures, and no one has identified the issues with my hips after going to many forms of treatments for years. A quick visual look by Nicole and she identified many issues and had her staff work on me and now I feel great.

Absolutely incredible. In an under an hour there is mobility where there was no mobility. Even facial relaxation from jaw clenching! Incredible and informative. I recently had my third deep tissue massage with Dannielle and felt compelled to share my incredible experience with her. I am a tough case with 3 rotator cuff surgeries under my belt within last 4 years. Needless to say that I require someone who is skilled and knowledgable to tackle my issues and have to say that Dannielle far exceeded my expectations. I suffer with range of motion limitations, scar tissue, trigger points, etc and she was able to address all of them with her broad range of techniques. We tried a little rapid release out during my last massage and I was blown away with the results, such a major improvement in just one session! All this and she is the sweetest, caring person... all you could ask for in a therapist. I highly recommend her and Urban Massage & Wellness.
