Imagine going to school for 2.5 years to become a RMT only to have COVID and then YOUR OWN college slow that process down! Every other business in the world can make COVID friendly changes to how they operate, yet the college can't get it together, to get all of these graduated students their official licensing due to COVID. Letting their student loans go unpaid and all of their knowledge and talent from over the years wasted. Its clear that this organization is a sham and only in it for the money. I am disgusted.

Do you want to help us sit down with a group of RMT‘s and let us decide with you what some of the rules and regulations should be and how to apply them and what the fees are stop taking advantage of the system stop harassing us into paying fees that are over the top not necessary I want to you to be accountable to our association on where my money goes and how you spent it. By far, this is the worst part about being a RMT. Yearly fees are through the roof and we get NOTHING for them.

The CMTO outsourcing it's examinations to an American company called "Prometric" or "IQT Testing" was the WORST POSSIBLE THING they could have done. Prometric doesn't have a phone number to call. You receive an email saying they'll get back to you in 3-5 business days. I've never heard back and I've reached out twice. IQT testing is worse. They have a phone number but every prompt takes you to the automator saying "log in and do it there". However, my log in doesn't work. I couldn't even reschedule my exam because I couldn't get a hold of anyone, nor could I log in to reschedule. The only thing they said was "it's too late to reschedule. The examination fee is non-refundable." Garbage.

Poorly run organization. I was a member for 15 years because it was mandatory. They have no accountability to anyone and can treat you like crap with no repercussions. Avoid dealing with them unless you have to.I recommend email correspondence, because they never call people back.

It's too bad RMT are forced to pay into this organization in order to stay in business, as they are completely useless. No one ever returns any calls and emails said to be returned within 3 business days can take up to 3 months for a reply. They act all mighty wanting their therapists to be professional, but cannot do so themselves. Be better!

Emailed the practice specialist a couple times, and never got a response over 3 weeks later when they said to expect one within three business days. Provides RMTs with horrible guidelines and supports.

How come all the reviews are so terrible and this staff is still there we get a call today from lady to CBI and lady with name Erica and start accusing one of our employees for something we don't have idea , please , usually case are handling by mall , name , facts, emails... please can you look at your reviews and start fix your dysfunctional system... all this industry is so mess. Look it of your dysfunctional system to become RMT you need 100k for two years to complete and is DAYLY FT you don't have any time to work and support your self , I did finish McMaster under 100k with master degree for four years....lazy comfort system and dysfunctional education ....look at your staff performers the gent on reception is nice and helpful he deserve to be in this organization ....

I totally agree! the fees are very high and RMT is not a human being for them is just a Registration # I took 3 years off the practice and when I wanted to return I had go thru the Refreshment course that cost me over all 2000$ and and I had to wait for online part that began 3 month after i have paid I could not wait that long I have lost my Job and I could not pay my rent and I have expl my situation of being a single mother and not be able to handle it now I work for 23$H and not sure if I ever pay my debd what this 3 month did to me.

Yeah they should really see this. One people complain can be nothing but look at all the reviews i will give no star if there was that option. They abosteluly overcharge the fee and do nothing really. Never answer their phone when tried to call them and left voice mail never heard anything afterward. You guys should really pick up the mess here.

Came here from BC, and as a massage therapist, the BC governing body is much superior. Here, Jennifer the practice specialist neglects to do her job, she provides poor guidance for RMTs and neglects to think of public needs.What a waste of fees.

I am not sn RMT but my partner is. Every year he pays a ridiculous amount in fees and I have yet to understand what that 'gets him'. Other health related professions pay much less eg. Nurses. Given that it's members haven't been able to work since mid March I hope they will be reducing the fees fornext year.

One of the worst run organization in Canada. Staff is under qualified and have limited education. They are the not transparent regardless of what they say. Highly unethical. The college works for money and nothing more. I have been a therapist for 3 years and with COVID had huge amounts of issues going forth with this buisness. Two years in a row I had issues with there registration process and on my third year decided to send a check because it never worked for the online portion. They didn't respond with the check was not able to process because they don't accept it and instead sent me a failure to pay letter. The original amount was 392.50$ for the first payment and 392.50$ in March for the second. Once the failure to pay notice was sent to me with not being able to work they asked for 1085$ instead in full to work. I am a single parent with 2 kids and had no extra money at the time besides the saved 785$. I asked for the ability to pay in installments but was denied as they want the full amount of 1085$ to work. It took them almost 3 weeks to respond to me and now I have 0$ besides the 785$ in my account. They are money grubbers and have no heart to help any therapist out, they just want your money and you to back off. With this not being an issue from COVID I can't collect CERB and since I am self employed I can't collect EI. I am under the thumb of an organization that has no mercy and if you can't pay them they want you out of buisness.

One of the worst experiences I have had applying for a job. I had a phone interview and an in-person interview. The interviewers were pleasant enough, but there were other issues: 1) The job sometimes involves reviewing complaints of s--ual a-sault. They did not bring this up until the in-person interview. I think they could have mentioned that in the job ad or the phone interview. They acknowledged that not everyone can work with such material. By not bringing it up earlier, they wasted time interviewing candidates who would never take the job because of that requirement. Also, that cannot be the appropriate way to deal with that issue in a hiring process. Police officers, social workers, psychologists and similar get specific training in dealing with such material precisely because there is a risk of harm. CMTO’s job description did not call for training or experience in this area, so were they planning to just let the new hire deal with it and hope for the best? If this is an indication of how the management team handles potentially harmful situations for employees, it raises a huge red flag about their competence. 2) The interviewers did not have the technical knowledge necessary to assess skills for the job. They were unfamiliar with some very basic terms and concepts. They made nonsensical remarks and were clearly unaware of it. One staff person told me that the College is the only organization in Canada that uses a certain type of software. They may really believe that, but I checked it out and it is far from true. This is not surprising given that neither of the interviewers have any background in the field whatsoever. I imagine the actual job is at a far lower skill level than the job posting suggested. 3) They did not inform me prior to the interview that it would be followed by a test that would take another 45 minutes to an hour. 4) I think they knew after the interview that they would not offer me the job, but went ahead with the test anyway to save themselves the awkwardness of rejecting me to my face. 5) They ghosted me. I spent two hours at their office for the interview and test, and they did not do me the simple courtesy of a timely follow-up. In all, it seems like a very amateurish operation. The fact that one of the (at the time, they may have left since my interview) senior managers fell for the “master’s certificate” scam is a big red flag in itself.

Do not expect to communicate with a person. The system is completely automated. The CMTO's reliance on technology to interface with it's members can be very frustrating.

Never care about the public nor their members. They only want your money and do nothing at all. The staffs always give you attitude every time you reach them. Never answer calls and reply your email in a month, which is ridiculous. WORST COLLEGE IN CANADA
