Update: returned it was great. Disappointed, booked a visit, stayed in the area and showed up to find it closed. Please call your guests when you cancel on them the day of just sending an email does not suffice as some people have limited service in the areas they are staying (i.e. phone service but no access to data to check their emails).
Absolutely amazing experience! Will be returning for sure!
A must visit place !! Too good ????????☺
Still under construction it will be nice when finished
beautiful location and facility. such a unique experience and nothing else like it in NS!
A beautiful place to relax! Always adding new features and I’ve enjoyed every trip. Truly a restorative place!
This place is magical! Located not far off Highway 103, tucked into the woods, you will be amazed with Nova Scotia's first Nordic Spa. Choose between dry saunas and wet saunas (with essential oils) and salt scrubs, and a barrel sauna. Relax in hammocks, Adirondack chairs by fire pits, and quiet spots thought the property. Heat up or cool down in hot pools and the cold pools, one with a waterfall feature. Massage therapy offered onsite by pre-booking. Grab a snack or a drink in the yurt next to the pools and relax on the deck overlooking the lake. When you hear the gong every hour, I recommend going to the dry sauna near the change room yurts for an incredible sauna ritual filled with essential oils... trust me - this was the highlight of my visit! Lots of lockers, showers, and plenty of towels available. Water stations located throughout the property; bathrooms located in the change room yurts. Rent a robe - so cozy and worth it! Definitely plan to stay 3-4 hours... and remember to whisper wherever you are on the grounds. I can't wait to go back again!!
Went here for a girls day and it was great! The view of the lake is a great addition to the hydrotherapy pools. They had some food and drink options but they were very limited, hopefully they will have more options in the future. Can't wait to go back!
An excellent experience of relaxation, a great get away.
Although very busy, especially in the hot pool section, we had a great time at the spa with our crew of six. This is a hot ticket and it took frequent website visits to reserve a spa pass. It looks like they are expanding with additional pools so that will be great. This place will become extremely congested once COVID-19 restrictions ease if they allow more visitors, it was busy with the restrictions in place. Overall a new and relaxing activity to do in Nova Scotia.
Awful experience! I had one beer, I wanted to go outside to smoke (tobacco) and I guess because of the smell of the recently taken beer, the lady at the front desk said in a very condescending tone "it is not allowed as people go to their cars to get drunk, almost implying that I was going to. It is misleading as they have chairs and an ashtray outside. The same lady told us to go to pod 2 to wait for our massages. We asked again a couple of times and we were told the same. As the time passed, no one came to pick us up, so we knocked and not on purpose, we interrupted someone else's massage. We asked again and finally someone mentioned that we were in pod number 2, but in the recently built area! So we lost like 15 minutes waiting, had to run, and lost another 5 minutes of our massage. No one has a clue of anything.
What an amazing place! I have always wanted to visit after seeing posts on social media, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. It was the most relaxing, rejuvenating, blissful experience ever. The location is BEAUTIFUL, with 10/10 views everywhere you look. The eucalyptus and orange steams are both so relaxing, and after the scrub, my skin has never felt softer. The staff are all very friendly and the pay attention to detail every step of the way. I am already planning my next visit so I can spend more time and enjoy some of the great food selection and get a massage! HIGHLY recommend visiting Sensea Nordic Spa, your mind, body and soul will thank you.
If you need a day to feel refreshed physically and mentally, this is your spot. I went uncertain what to expect, and left feeling so relaxed! Went with my friend and we literally Cannot wait to be back, their staff is so great and accommodating! It’s cute, cozy and convenient!
An INCREDIBLE spa experience! The location is gorgeous - located in the woods, by a lake. The hydro facilities are all outdoors, and numerous, and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful, relaxing experience that will leave you refreshed and so zen! I highly recommend the sauna ritual with Jacky.
Well worth the wait to get into this popular place. Really enjoyed myself. Booked again soon as I got done ????
I loved this whole place! Was very affordable, lots of great activities, beautiful location and friendly staff. My only suggestion would be more food and drink options and perhaps designated times people can speak! They enforce quiet which can be good but also rough if you're with a Group. I think a good middle ground would be to have designated times people can openly talk. Beyond those two suggestions I really loved it, can't wait to go back.
I totally loved it. I do wish there was a little more instruction available on the website where we were new and it felt very freestyle. We will definitely be back now that we feel prepared! Tip for newbies - remember your flip flops and if you bring your own robe you can save a little bit of money!
Awesome place!!!! Both me and my wife enjoyed it so much!!! Will definitely come back!!!
Great experiece! Highly recommend
I can’t even begin to say how much my husband and I enjoyed our day at Sensea. We took the day to relax and unwind. We loved all the treatments we tried. The atmosphere was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are immaculate. We ordered our food and drinks and they were delivered to us at the fireplace we were sitting around. We highly recommend the Spa and are eagerly awaiting our next scheduled visit !
The perfect day or relaxing! Highly recommend for a couple of friends, but not a big group, as it could get tricky to stay quiet ;)
beautiful day spent with amazing friends!
Lovely experience. A whole vibe for a relaxing laid back time. Comfy and clean.
The only improvement would be a little shop where we could buy the scented salts and oils! Everything was really perfect ????
Sensea Nordic Spa is hands down the most relaxing place I’ve ever been. The layout was great, they really thought of everything in order to give their guests the best visit possible. The area was absolutely beautiful, the scents in the air and the music throughout the entire area was so relaxing. We went on a Saturday and was expecting it to be packed but luckily their restrictions on the amount of people per day was perfect. Didn’t feel too crammed, lots to do and we will definitely be returning soon!
Loved it. What a relaxing way to spend a day. We'll be back.
Such a cool experience glad it’s here in Nova Scotia, definitely recommend trying it
Sensea spa is fabulous and they keep adding to make it even better. The day just slips away. I’m looking forward to my next spa day.
Wonderful afternoon in nature. Lovely staff, clean facilities and just the right amount of people permitted. The ritual was amazing!
I can't say enough good things about Sensea. The pools are clean and lovely. Everything is well labeled. Staff are super friendly. A few things that would use improvements, and I think they're working on many things. There's no bathroom at the bottom of the hill at the last set of pools. If you really need to go you'll have to schlep back up to the changing rooms. The bracelet I got for my locker didn't work until the 7th time I tried it. A bit annoying but workable. There's no clean towels along the path through the various treatments, if you want a new towel you'd have to go back to the changing room. The "eatery" had extremely limited food options, if they expect people to stay for hours on end I would have liked more options. There are QR codes posted to that you can scan them with your phone and have food or drink brought to you but I didn't being my phone cause I didn't want the distraction. It just a bit contradictory to have services in a place of quiet and solitude that was dependent on a device.
As usual love love love this place. Staffs are very very nice and welcoming. Love the atmosphere, view and location. So relaxing and gives peace to my mind and soul. Do visit this place every single dollar worth it except the restaurant is over priced.
Great experience! Highly recommend this with your family and friends
The levels of thought and care that went into their facilities and services are unparalleled. A holistic experience with relaxing vibes and breathtaking views. 10 stars!
Beautiful - had an amazing day at Sensea Nordic Spa. Such a relaxing place
Amazing time! So beautiful, peaceful and relaxing ????
My wife and I went last Sunday and spent 4.5 hours soaking, steaming and relaxing. Great place - we'll be back!
I've never been this relaxed! I highly recommend taking a care-day for yourself in this fantastic Nordic Spa!
Had an amazing day. The therma hydro treatment is amazing and very revitalizing. Will definitely be back.
I love this spa; the price of a day pass is more than worth it. When I was there last week it looks like they were also doing a bunch of improvements and adding some new features which is nice. I find it enjoyable, relaxing and very pleasant. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the communication with the facility is Challenging. Both times that I when I needed to connect with a worker and was very frustrated by my and inability to do so.This does not impact the good experience you will have ones at the spa, but it is some thing that I hope they will pay closer attention to and do a better job of in the future.
Amazing place for relax. I loved heated hammock and hamam.
Best way to spend your day! No matter the weather this is the ultimate relaxation getaway. Great amenities and staff.
Great place. They've made a strong start and I hope to see them continue to grow.
Our visit to Sensea Nordic Spa blew us away. It is so beautiful there and the place is massive. With so many options for saunas, hot tubs and cold plunges you never run out of things to do. You have to go into the main sauna for their sauna rituals. It is an amazing experience with the towel flagging techniques and essential oils. We plan to go once a month now. We have found our home spa!!!
Great experience. We went for the evening (6:30 check in) and loved the space lit up with the lights! Hope to do full day next & a treatment! Definitely worth the money and the robes are a great rental… so cozy ✨
This place has THE WORST customer service. We were so excited to see that they were opening in early January and couldn't wait to check it out. We planned a weekend around it which involved flights and accommodations (visiting from Toronto), and since there were only 4 of us, we didn't make a reservation for a day pass, because the website would only allow reservations for groups of 5 or more. When we arrived at opening at 10am, we were told that we should have made a reservation, that they had just changed their policy three days prior to allow for that, and that they were full for that day. We explained our situation and were told that they "had just opened in January and are still working things out". They suggested we go find a cafe in Chester and that they would call us by 1pm if there were any cancellations. We received a call back at 3:30pm to offer us a spot (they closed at 5pm that day...), which we couldn't take as we were back in Halifax. Also, if you want to book a treatment of any sort, make sure you book two months in advance. To say we were disappointed to be treated that way and to not experience Sensea is a huge understatement.
Great please for relaxing. Hammas is great. Must go.
5 ???? Peace & Tranquility
This place is heaven on earth! So relaxing, peaceful and beautiful! Make sure to attend a ritual in the sauna 10/10! Can't wait to return.
This place is absolutely incredible. I've been 5(?) times now and will keep going back. Beautiful, clean facilities. And they're constantly working to expand! And the staff are so friendly. Highly recommend looking to unplug, or just have a relaxing day -- solo or with friends!
What a great addition to our Province.
Lovely place to spend a day! We went for about 3 hours and felt like we could have stayed for longer. The hot/cold pool rotations were a dream, the sauna experiences were fun, and the steam rooms are to die for. Food and drinks are available to order to your location in the spa. We unfortunately weren't able to book massages because we were too late, but will definitely be back soon!
This was the right thing to do to start my week. Yes, I'll spend a day at the spa with a nice brunch of salad and salmon. The aromatherapy steam rooms and salt scrubs were such a wonderful surprise. This place is not just tubs and saunas! Thank you.
I am so happy that you have opened in Nova Scotia! Yesterday was my third visit and I'm already excited for the next! The atmosphere is so welcoming and the scenery is beautiful. Every detail has been well thought out! Every visit has been spectacular and I have been telling everyone to book asap. I love the sauna rituals and had the fortune of experiencing both the aufguss and the banyo! The eucalyptus steam room is my favorite and I could come Every day just to use it :) The light food options are delicious and the wait staff are so friendly and personable! You have done an amazing job creating a relaxing experience at a great price!
This is a hidden gem. Not to big, not to small. I had heard check in takes awhile because there is only one person but it didn't take long. We went early and tried to push our time up. We did if someone got a massage. One of the girls wanted one so we were in. Thoroughly enjoyed the steam and hot tubs. There's cold ones too. The show was great and the young lady doing it was very friendly. Enjoyed it immensely. A must try for anyone of you're in Chester.
Where do I start!!!! This was such an amazing, relaxing and exhilarating holistic experience!! Loved every minute. If your looking to relax unwind and recharge this is the way to do it, this was the best health oasis for my mind, body, soul/spirit it even poured raining the whole time we were there but it made the experience even more invigorating, I cannot wait to go back.
I have no words to adequately describe how beautiful and serene this spot is. I didn’t want to ever leave. If I could have gone back the following day, I would have.
Love the spa and treatments, but there were a lot of ppl talking loudly and there was a hectic atmosphere when I was there around 2/3:00 in some saunas/changing room. It didn’t get quieter until 6. Spent a lot of time waiting outside in the cold due to saunas/pools/fire pits full of visitors which dampened the enjoyment a bit since it’s winter. Someone also took my robe with my handmade mask in it by mistake, so I ended up wearing a strangers robe when I left. Not totally COVID safe/Not many people were social distancing. Would def prefer to go when there’s less people so you can social distance and have a quieter time.
Great experience, went with a group of 5 friends and was a great way to get outside of the city for some relaxation. Great service, great vibe, great experience!
Such an amazing and relaxing day. I didn't want to leave. Sensea is an oasis with beautiful nature views, steamy saunas, hammocks for lounging, amazing massages, warm fires, great customer service and a variety of hot and cold pools to relax in. It is a magical destination and I can't wait for the accommodations to open!
Beautiful place and experience, you are best to contact them via Facebook or email. Reaching over phone was difficult.
If I could rate this place it would be much more than 5 stars. The staff are friendly and helpful, the whole place is clean and very relaxing. You get your moneys worth! Will be going back very soon!
beautiful spot so relaxing will be back
Amazing and unique spa experience. I can't wait to go back at a different time of year to take in the changing climate. Highly recommend doing the Scandinavian sauna ritual!
What a gem of a place. Peaceful, serene and could easily spend hours here. The price is so awesome for what you experience in the Spa.
Beautiful spa experience!
New Nova Scotia Jem! Ready to be Rejuvenated?
Such a relaxing experience. I highly recommend Sensea Nordic Spa if you haven’t been yet! Utilized the day pass visiting the pools and saunas. Was also able to get in a meditation session, followed by lunch - the food was great!
Honestly surpassed my expectations as someone who loves spas and has been to many in other provinces. Spent over 4 hours relaxing here and didn't even book a treatment; there's enough to do in the hot-cold-relax cycle with the various options! It's very well set up, beautiful right next to the lake, well managed, clean, and is overall a great spa experience. PLUS - for lunch, there are clearly marked VEGAN options on the menu, so vegans need not despair!!
This was my second visit to Sensea and I know it will not be my last. The entire experience from start to finish was incredible. I cannot say enough about how relaxing the entire day was. There were a lot of activities to choose from and when the day is over it is hard to leave. A wonderful day away from normal day pace and you leave rejuvenated. Staff are friendly and the entire spa is clean and organized. The hammams were our favorite. Leaves your skin feeling brand new. Great getaway and must try for all.
This is a wonderful place for a unique and incredibly relaxing experience. They have really done this right! The saunas, the hot tubs, the cold waterfalls and plunge pools are amazing! And then the relaxation areas where you can sit by the lake or swing in a hammock. We enjoyed every minute!
Perfect piece of paradise only a short drive from home. Extremely relaxing and the atmosphere is amazing!
Absolutely fantastic. Great changing rooms and very relaxing atmosphere. Second time visiting and already cannot wait to go back. The staff are so friendly and helpful and will answer of all your questions. Definitely be a part of the sauna ritual if you can it was phenomenally done.
We are very fortunate to have this place close to home . Friendly staff and very clean place .
We had a wonderful time at the spa, beautiful atmosphere and great staff. Would highly recommend especially to visit in the early evening when everything is lit up
Booking was a nightmare, their online system is terrible, especially if you are booking for more than one person. Spa passes are not day passes, so you can only come in at the time you booked your pass and it is good for an hour? Still not clear on that, so don’t book a treatment for the last appointment or you won’t be able to enjoy the Spa beforehand. Reception staff not overly helpful, you have a question and they refer you back to their website (which our questions came from in the first place). For that alone they get this rating. We were on wait lists for treatments, but were not notified when any came up. We checked the website everyday and found openings for earlier times on our own. HOWEVER, Once we got there, the pools and massage spaces were amazing. We were there after a snowfall and it added to the atmosphere. There was alot of construction yet, you can tell they are making quite an effort to really making it a wonderful destination with expanding pools, treatment spaces and adding accommodations. Looking forward to what it will be in a couple of years and they work out their kinks.
This place would have been ideal if it wasn't so crowded. It was impossible to social distance or enjoy anything in silence. Large crowds of people who dominated the pools was disappointing. Anyone with social anxiety will probably have a hard time. Which is unfortunate. Not sure if I'll return. If I do, it definitely won't be on a weekend.
Excellent customer service. Knowledgeable staff. Top-notch facilities. A lot of time given in the spa for a reasonable price. Very relaxing. Can't wait to return.
This was a fabulous thing to do on a crisp fall day, just loved it!
Great experience and a great way to relax. Highly recommend this spa!!!
Professional staff, great facilities, beautiful scenery. My only suggestion is to have more options for food. If you want to relax for a few hours you're going to need to eat and the options are limited. Also, I am gluten free and the only thing I could eat on the menu was sold out. Everything else was wonderful though! Thank you so much!
Great ambiance with good balance of dry and wet sauna and hot and cold pools
Beautiful location and facilities. Very glad to have gone. Brought the parents who've never done a Nordic spa and they can't wait to go back!
We went on a Saturday afternoon and although it was a novel experience, we didn't love it. Everything felt crammed in together - queues for every sauna (impossible to maintain any distance here because the anterooms are so small). The only functional 'hot' tub was constantly full of people, and due to the wind even the lodge was cold. In theory this could have been a relaxing experience, but there were so many people that it felt like Disney - constantly being forced to queue, change spots, and then the pressure of having people queue up behind you waiting to get their turn in the hammock. Would not go back unless they properly limit the number of people, or expand to allow for some actual breathing room.
Prepare to relax! In the quiet of the trees on a lake is a treasure. I spent the day in cool pools, hot pools, eucalyptus steams, followed by a salt scrub and shower. I wondered down the gravel paths found a lounge chair and sunk in. The relaxing stations have a QR code allowing you to order food or beverage and it is brought to you. I wondered farther down to another set of pools and enjoyed the fire pit and a lovely swing in a hammock pulling myself with the rope, lulling off watching an eagle over the lake through the trees. My visit ended with a perfect massage in a draped treatment dome which was cool, dark and relaxing. I can’t wait to return
Absolutely fantastic spot with great treatments and views. We booked rather spontaneously and we’re definitely not disappointed and will definitely be returning soon. Very keen to see how they continue to build up their business.
Went during fall, the view was insane. Loved everything . Will go back for sure! Definitively recommend it.
Love it!
Great experience! The staff, atmosphere and layout was prefect!
Outstanding day… couldn’t recommend it more!
This is a place everyone should experience! We went for a mother daughter day and still haven't stopped talking about it to everyone!! The steam rooms were my favorite followed by the salt scrubs, but really super hard to pick out the best since it was l so wonderful. Staff was attentive, place extremely clean I will definitely be back !!!
Thank you Sensea Nordic Spa for a great day. Your staff, your amenities and your provisions of nice essentials made for an amazing day. We have already booked our next session. We will encourage family and friends to pay forward to themselves and spend some time at #senseaspa Chester, NS.
Nice pkace to unwind and relax
The most amazing experience, loved it all and can't wait to go back!
Amazing experience! Happy that the spa is close to Halifax. Stay for at least 3 hours is recommended :)
Very special place! All amazing, just need to add items to menu.
We had an awesome time at Sensea. I recommend going earlier in the day as it does get busy in the afternoon. I also recommend bringing sunglasses if it's a sunny day because all the rooms are quite dark so the contrast was hard on the eyes. The sauna ritual, solar wind by Suhkpal (?) was very cool. Definitely check out everything they have to offer. We stayed 4 hours and it felt like a real vacation.
Amazing Experience! My wife and I had such a great time in March! It was very peaceful and rejuvenating! Exactly what we needed! Booked to go again on our wedding anniversary!
Loved my experience here, so relaxing. Everyone was social distancing and the facilities were perfectly clean.
Wow! We had an incredibly relaxing and invigorating day at Sensea. Loved the steam rooms. It was an amazing way to spend some time with my daughter. Highly recommend.
A magical experience in Chester. Nestled in the forest with several types of spa experiences to choose from including demonstrations every hour. Friendly staff and beautiful amenities.
Went to the SENSEA Nordic Spa for my birthday and it was exactly what I needed! It was such a relaxing experience and an escape from the rush of daily life. The hammam's, heated hammocks and hot pools were personal favorites though the whole experience was beyond amazing. Sipping wine while overlooking the scenery was so peaceful. We'll certainly be back again!
Unbelievably relaxing and luxurious! The entire place smells heavenly, and it's so cozy. We went at night when the pools and trees are lit up. It was beautiful I highly recommend attending one of the rituals they perform in the sauna. We will definitely be back!
Calm and healing spa in the forest, all of their scents are just heavenly
I've been to Sensea Spa a few times now and absolutely love it. You can easily spend a full day relaxing there as they have enough to keep your day busy (pools, sauna & rituals, steam room, yoga, hammocks etc.). I only wish they had more food options in the cafe/lounge area.
Wonderful relaxing spa! Enjoyed my day here and can't wait to go back.
This place feels like a hug ???? . . . They do an amazing job of making space to hit the pause button and really focus on emotional and physical self care . . . Beautiful location, very friendly staff, lots of options for rest or yoga in between spa rituals
I loved the whole experience! I arrived just after 10am the other day and stayed until 3:30. I haven't been that relaxed in months. My favourites include the scented steam rooms and the sauna rituals. Even though it was raining that day, the experience of sitting in a hot pool, overlooking a misty lake through the trees was magical. 10/10 would recommend.
Usually I have a good time at this spa, but my last visit was not the case. Brought a friend here to try it for her first time the other day. While the spa itself was wonderful, the staff on the other hand was not. If you are going to have a “one towel per customer rule”, a suggestion would be to put up a sign that states this. When my friend and I went to grab two towels, (one for our hair and one for body) an employee behind us made a snide remark, “you’re only supposed to take one towel”. Had she said this nicely it would have been a different situation. When leaving the spa at the end of the day, many people were leaving at the same time and the receptionist would make a point to ask how each person’s visit was. My friend and I, who both left the spa area at separate times, we’re not asked about our visit. This was a truly disappointing experience on what was supposed to be a fun, relaxing day. I have been to many spas and have always been treated with respect, kindness and never felt singled out. This was not the case with Sensea. Hard to say if I will be back in the future.
This was a nice getaway from the city. Also a different version of your typical spa because you get to enjoy the outdoors. The salt rooms are enjoyable, fragrant, calming. At least 4 hot pools and 3 cold plunge pools with a couple waterfalls, and decent food to snack on. You can order food and drinks from literally anywhere and it's brought directly to you. Overall it was a good experience and I would go back.
Absolutely beautiful! Very relaxing atmosphere and wonderful experience! I do wish we could talk to real people to book appointments, as it was hard to book for more than one person to go at a time.
We arrived at sensea spa after the first big snow storm of the year, this group worked so hard to get everything cleared so customers could still enjoy their spa day we heard one young man say he had been there sense 4am. We loved the spa it is so cozy and accommodating. The sauna rituals were by far my favourite with the salt scrub coming in a close second. The hot tubs are beautiful. The location for this spa could not be more perfect the scenery is breath taking. I cannot wait to be back. Tammy Kehoe
Had a great time at Sensea! Everyone was so kind and helpful, already planning my next trip back :)
After spending time at this relaxing spa doing the hot - cold - rest cycle, you will come home renewed and sleep like a baby. Try the beet salad, it's delicious.
As an owner and chef of a busy restaurant and brewery, I treasure my once a month get away from the Valley to Chester. The minute I step into the world of Sensea, I feel the stress depart and my mind clear. I'm not sure how I am able to think about absolutely nothing other than the peaceful music coming from the speakers or the birds chirping or the trickle of water from the waterfalls. I have napped in a hammock, read my book and fallen even. I have done so many Aufgass saunas that I blissfully melt up on the second level to the three flame rituals and then plunge into icy cool waters. I have snacked and watched the water and sipped on hot tea and even a glass of red. I had my first combo vanity with a massage last month and will definitely be doing that again.Watching the renovations over the past year leave me looking forward to each visit. I much prefer my solo visits and understand the folks who want to bring their friends but trust me...take this day for you...it is so much more enjoyable. Enjoy the quiet, we so rarely get it in today's world, put away your phones and just indulge in YOU. So grateful you have chosen this corner of the earth to bring this experience to us. Thank you Sensea and the lovely staff❤????
My friend and I booked my first ever spa day, for late April. Everything was great; but, the Hammam Spa was hands-down the highlight of my 4 hour visit.
This was a new experience for me in NS, what a great addition to our province. This Nordic spa is nestled in the woods on a lake in East Chester, NS. It is peaceful, clean and has lots to offer. It has 2 sections of hot and cold pools and steam & dry saunas. There are therapeutic services offered and a kitchen yurt, with complementary tea. Salt scrubs, shampoo, conditioner and body wash & moisturizers are all included. They even have bags for your wet bathing suits, in case you forgot. Scan codes are in every area, where you can order lunch, bathrobe, a beverage or even a book to enjoy on a hammock. I did bring my lunch container home because I felt guilty about the plastic, it is a very sturdy container so it can be reused. Towels and locker bracelets are provided also. Bring flip flops, cover up, & of course, a bathing suit. The atmosphere is very calming and serene. There is a quiet hush and therefore the sounds of nature dominate the experience. There are yoga mats on wooden platforms set up in a wooded area and sessions are provided several times per day. The sauna experience is invigorating with the essential oils spread through the air, especially followed by a cold dip. Massages can be Pre booked. Although my experience was on a warm August day, they have fire pits in several areas and I am sure the fall/winter experience would be equally unique and revitalizing. It would be a lovely gift for a wedding or anniversary as well. They are still adding things to the experience, accommodations are being built. $57/day. Well spent! Staff was awesome!
Amazing place to feel relaxed and just connect with your loved one and nature❤️
Great time! I look forward to visiting again when the accommodations are completed.
Gorgeous location and amazing spa. The only complaint would be people are too loud
Nice awesome
Wonderful, peaceful place to unwind and recharge. Loved the salt scrub and the eucalyptus room!
It was the greatest experience ever, I've never been more relaxed in my entire life. Definitely would recommend! ????
Loved the concept, look and experience at the spa. Found the customer service to be poor, and was quite frustrated that they had construction going on during the day while the spa was open. It's pretty hard to relax when theres a saw and hammering going on! It also would have been different if they had communicated that there would be construction. Otherwise, I would have really loved this spot!
I am never disappointed when I come here. From the time you arrive it’s a special time. It’s like counting down to a vacation. They have plenty of parking. Knowledgeable staff throughout the site. Very friendly, always smiling. Jackie is always amazing. I am a regular and she always checks in to see how things have been. It was my first time doing the Hot Stone Treatment which was everything i dreamed of! So great to see some new additions to the property. Which was a nice surprise. Lots of room for everyone to spread out. I highly recommend this gem! I can not wait for my future bookings.
I loved the experience at SENSEA Nordic Spa! They have 2 hot tubs, 1 cold with a waterfall, 5 saunas, a bunch of hammocks. The atmosphere is perfect with ambiance music and the location being in the woods next to a calm lake. My only gripe would be the cafeteria. Everything is vegetarian with the exception of the salmon sandwich. Portions are pretty small. I'd suggest selling chicken sandwiches and easy stuff like that. Other than the foods, everything was perfect.
We had an amazing time here! The staff are incredible, friendly attentive but also not in your face. You have time and space to chill and heat up and relax with super clean and well maintained facilities.
First time there and I had an amazing experience. Such a relaxing place. Being immersed in nature, the smells of essential oils, relaxing baths and saunas; It awakes all of your senses. It’s very grounding and I will definitely be back!! I enjoyed the hot- cold - relax cycle( I’ve never gone from hot to cold) it’s invigorating, and the Russian Sauna. Well set up and very clean!
Really nice place but not a lot of options for food also very hard to reach them by phone they mainly just answer emails.
Absolutely gorgeous place, it was so peaceful here and lots to do. I had a Swedish massage and I got to have it done outside in nature which was a treat and so calm and relaxing. Cant wait to take friends and family back here! Would 100% recommend
Found it to be a calm atmosphere and relaxing experience. Beautiful location and view from the hammocks. Variety of sauna options and it didn't feel too crowded when we went on a weekday late afternoon.
Well.... I guess I will never get to try Sensea Spa. I have been looking at the website everyday multiple times a day to book two spa passes for months. Seems to me you need to have a strong social media following/ be an influencer or know someone who works there to get in. Very elitist.
Wow, first time going and we had a wonderful day! Hot tub, cold plunge, again! Saunas, salt baths, wine break and finally a massage! Ahhhhh!
Absolutely everything was wonderful. I immediately want to go back. Great, relaxing experience. Totally understand why they're booked solid.
Amazing! Like it so much! Enjoying the nature and lelaxation here. Perfect weekend, will definitely come back again! And looking forward the accommodation.
Amazing experience. I am so relaxed after spending the afternoon here I can’t wait for my next visit.
Amazing place to relax, especially at cold winter time
Highly recommend, Its a gem in beautiful Chester!
We went solely for the spa experience no treatments booked but we still spent over 3 hours there enjoying the beauty while relaxing. This is money well spent! Worth the drive. No complaints.
So beautiful and relaxing. Paradise!
Had an awesome day with friends, enjoying the outdoors, the calm and tranquility of the spa! Thoroughly enjoyed that the showers were fully stocked for us after a sweaty day!
Service was great, very quiet, clean and absolutely loved the essential oil performance in the sauna.
So relaxing and rejuvenating! Spent the entire afternoon there. Definitely will be returning.
Lovely space. Have enjoyed each visit. Concerned that younger crowds are quite talkative and don't whisper, it's important to the experience.
such an amazing place! great to relax and staff is so friendly!
The massage was amazing and I believe its like 50 bucks for the pass to use any of the 3 saunas and 4 pools 2 hot tubs and 2 non hot tubs lol, great atmosphere super calm and relaxing jus can wait to go back the eucalyptus and citrus saunas ohh my felt so great I have asthma first trip into the eucalyptus sauna it bothered me, second trip in it did not and I did not need to take my puffers, felt amazing
My first spa experience ! No regrets ! Can't wait to book another day .One Little suggestion : put a sign in front the cold bath ; cause I felt down and hurt myself , bit it was funny .
This place is beautiful and relaxing. Me and my partner went and just got the spa pass and didn't even bother with spa services and still felt like we could have been there all day! Such a nice way to relax and unwind!
Went here for my wedding anniversary. First time to a spa and it was amazing to just relax. The day pass is great and I would plan for at least 3 hours if not the whole day. Bring a book and relax by the fire or in a hammock by the water. Relax in the hot pools when u feel like it and I recommend a cold plunge after coming out of the hit water. Bring waterbottle, bathrobe, and flip flops if u can. They have some to buy/rent. We will be going back. No mosquitoes because of propane deterrents and a hornet or two from food. Quiet, beautiful and serene. 18-20 degrees seems to be the perfect temperature and I'm interested to try it in the winter.
Such a relaxing and magical setting. Customer service is excellent , the spa is very clean, and you have to attend the rituals when you go-they’re mesmerizing!
Awesome!
A unique experience close to the city. A great day trip with lunch in Chester, NS.
Amazing! Will be back.
I have visited a couple of times - the first was absolutely incredible, the second was very disappointing. The first time I went, it was beautiful weather and seemed to be quite full of people, the second time was pouring rain and not as many customers in the beginning of my visit, which you would think would be quiet and relaxing. However, it seemed like something was off or wrong because numerous staff members were walking into the hammams and saunas in a hurry, rushing around the premises, and talking very loudly to each other and to clients. It was odd and alarming to say the least. As the day grew, so did the number of people, in my initial visit, staff reminded folks to whisper when things would get noisy, but during this visit it seemed to be a free for all. I ended up leaving earlier than anticipated because it was too loud, which may sound silly, but it really ruined what should have been a relaxing and meditative experience. The aufguss ritual is fantastic, make sure to experience at least one while you are there. They have limited food options and ample drinks available for purchase, however it’s a great idea to bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated during your stay. The hammocks and the fires are great resting points, but for rainy days it would be nice to have some sheltered options available. While they are often booked up quite a bit in advance, it’s worth checking for cancellations on their website for rainy days. Understandably some folks don’t want to go while it is raining, however it was quite nice and you’re getting wet already so may as well embrace it.
The Nordic Spa is like an amusement park for relaxation-seekers. Pay an entry fee and then spend the day enjoying as many luxurious experiences as you can stand. I loved the steam rooms, the Russian sauna, and especially the heated hammocks. Nothing says cozy like rocking in the bitter cold wind while you're nice and toasty in your cocoon. The restaurant options are prepacked and minimal, but it's enough to keep you satisfied and comfortable in the beautiful yurt where they're served. I will definitely be back and I look forward to seeing what the construction yields on my next visit!
Loved Sensea Nordic spa! Highly recommend! Super clean and beautiful! I have been twice so far and will definitely be back!
Great place! Love their multiple pools, saunas, hammocks and their food/drink delivery! The massage in the geodome was also great and overlooked a nice forest. I love it there! Downfall is that it is somewhat difficult to get in! haha And also that it closes at 7 pm throughout week days. Would love for it to be open longer, as a lot of the appointments Ive been able to get are later in the day. But I get it, workers need to go home too! Great spot :)
We really enjoyed this spot! Clean and lots of options
It was a good experience overall, however, I would say the location in Moncton is more enjoyable. The food is pre-prepared, facility even at a reduced capacity due to COVID, still felt pretty crowded, there was loud chatter throughout the day and silence was not enforced. I would also like to note that the front desk/receptionist does a pretty poor job at answering the phone. I've called countless times and the line eventually just hangs up and no one ever answers the phone.
Treat yourself! Christophe and Laetitia have given Nova Scotia a beautiful gem of relaxation and health, nestled in lovely Chester, Nova Scotia. The setting is incredibly picturesque, nestled on a lake in Chester, surrounded by trees and nature. For those unfamiliar with a Nordic Spa, the health benefits come from cycling between heat (sauna/steam room/hot tub), cold (cold bucket/shower/pool) and then resting. Repeating the cycle at least three times can lead to profound relaxation. Don't shy away from the cold. It's really exhilarating. The environment is intended to be silent (whisper if necessary). Some folks aren't used to this culture yet, but I hope they will learn to respect it. I've seen improvements every time I go, including better lighting in the steam rooms, hotter saunas, shorter lines to get in. They were much busier than anticipated when they first opened, but have responded beautifully. It is easy to make an account on their website and pre-book for attending the spa, and/or booking a massage (the 2 I have had were great!). They can book up early, but open up spots about 2 months in advance. You can also keep checking back and nab a cancellation. The food in the relaxation yurt is delicious and well-priced. The staff are fantastic! They really go the extra mile to ensure you have a wonderful experience. They provide lovely moisturizers in the change room and many other small touches. I hope in time they will add to their offerings, including a true relaxation space that is fully quiet with areas to rest in silence. It's my new favourite spot.
Fantastic place to relax and get a facial too:) I will be returning!
15 minutes from my home is a Nordic Spa. What an amazing day. Sauna. Steam. Salt scrubs. Dipping pools. Hammocks. The best part of my day was my first experience with Auffgoss. The ritual involves pouring water mixed with essential oils onto the hot stones of the Finnish sauna stove, after which the Aufgussmeister directed the hot, scented steam towards us using rhythmical movements of a towel... it was sort of a dance, accompanied by music. Magical. #Sensea #selfcareday @Sensea Nordic #girlfriendtime #finnishsauna
Went in early November with a friend. Beautiful ambience, great service, peaceful, and overall, a perfect way to relax & unwind. A must-go-to!
Amazing experience. Highly recommend. Beautiful setting, helpful staff.
Spent the day with my girlfriends at Sensea and I can’t say enough about the amazing experience. If you are looking to relax, unwind and re-charge this is the ultimate way to do it. The facility is lovely and I can’t wait to go back again!!
I went for a few hours in the evening and couldn’t get enough. The whole experience is so immersive and relaxing, your whole body and mind will thank you. My favourite was the steam rooms and salt rubs, but all of the saunas, and salt water pools were an incredible experience. I highly recommend you go for as long as possible!
Beautiful place, we really enjoyed here. Good experience and everything! Will soon go again! Very thoughtful of little details
I totally enjoyed my afternoon there with friends. It was very relaxing and well worth the money spent. I look forward to treating my daughter there sometime soon.
Beautiful spot! Staff all seem to genuinely care about the guests' experience, and a great deal of thought has gone into the design of the facility. I hope to see this place do well and maybe even expand in the future!
Three friends and I went to Sensea Nordic Spa today and had a great first visit. From the warmth of the saunas, hammams and hot baths to the coldness of the bucket showers and ice baths, to the inviting atmosphere of the relaxation yurt - you definitely end up an exciting day! Our favourite was the eucalyptus hammam followed by the salt scrub. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. The only suggestions I have are to expand the menu and to add more changing rooms - it was very busy in there when we were trying to leave. I can’t wait to go back! Hopefully next time we will be able to book a massage or facial!
Beautiful spot, should have one designated area where people can talk (ie why not down by new pools), not just quiet whisper all over. In Scandinavia, spas have some spots for social time and some areas for silence. Really lovely place and appreciated the comp shampoos and lotion bar. Do not forget your flip flops (gravel)! Need to serve coffee here! Tea and lots of beer/wine but not even. Bodum of coffee? ;) Would be nice to have an area to rinse before getting in/out of pools. Smell of wood campfires was so nice and the fire stoker guy was working hard. Massage was more Swedish than deep tissue but everything was pleasant.
Amazing staff on site and friendly. Expect to be relaxed once you’re done. 10/10 would recommend
Amazing
Great place to spend a day with friends. Day pass is excellent value if you plan for the full day.
Such an incredible relaxing expierence!! Great ambience, friendly staff and cleanliness!
Best family girls day ever! Can’t wait to come back
If your looking for something different to add to your self care list, this is the place for you. You should be ready to relax in a beautiful, natural setting and be willing to let go of all your stress and anxiety! The spa is exceptionally clean and well thought out. I love the locker key bracelets so you don't have to worry about carrying around a key. The food is also delicious! I plan to return every month! More often if possible. I even went on a rainy day and it did not take away from the experience.
Great day. Even with forecasted thunder showers we all had a wonderful time. I generally don't love massages, but the massage with Courtney was also amazing.
Massage is really relaxtion for me. His name is Mese . Thank you :) I booked next one already .
An amazing day spent with my best friend at the Nordic spa! We are people who very rarely slow down, and left the spa feeling relaxed & reenergized! Already planning our return trip :)
I loved everything about it. From quietly sitting beside the lake in the morning, to the intense eucalyptus steam sauna. The staff are absolutely amazing, attentive and knowledgeable. The facility itself is a mix of clean, bright, shiny and new, with a very rustic, nature immersed feel. All of the different areas had their own charm and it is worth while doing everything several times. The food menu is small and simple and was a good light lunch. We had the fruit salsa made with watermelon and it was delicious. We also had the croissant and it might just be the best I've ever had. I was not going to go to the ritual demonstration but my wife really wanted to go, so I joined her. I was so glad I did because it was fantastic! I will absolutely be back, and would love to experience it in the winter. If you did special days in December with Christmas music playing I would be there several times! Thank you
Very peaceful spot to get away from the noise of the city and chill from a long day of work.
If you are seeking an extraordinary spa experience this is the place! Their facilities are clean and their staff is top notch. The location overlooks a beautiful lake in the woods which allows for deep relaxation.
Beautiful place, very private and relaxing. I wish there were more pools and saunas
I have been twice now and I booked again for November. It's such a beautiful and relaxing spot.
Highly recommend a one day getaway to SENSEA. I arrived today (Wednesday) at 11 am and it wasn’t too busy yet. I explored the pools and amenities until it was time for my prenatal massage at 2 pm with Hillary E. It was amazing and so relaxing. They have the right set up for prenatal massages and I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a nice treat for yourself during pregnancy. I can’t wait to come back!
Amazing experience and very friendly staff!
More information should be available ahead of time. Housecoat, etc.
Good Change of scenery , nice atmosphere. Need to service the bar area better provide more food choices ( understandly tough during covid times ) also a big pool would be a welcomed addition eventually .
Had a great time at the spa. Loved it. Only exception was when one of the staff asked a worker to use the leaf blower on the deck which was so loud and not relaxing. Not sure what was the point of doing that while customers try to relax... Other than that it was great.
Great location, service is really good. I love that they continue to add to the experience with new pools and the ability to order food from anywhere with your phone. It's improved so much since the last time I was there in the winter. Can't wait to go back and see what else it will have to offer. Even just getting the 50$ day pass without a massage is enough to keep you occupied all day. The food is limited and light, so don't show up hungry. But what they do have, we really enjoyed. The almond croissants are fantastic. This place is one of the many gems in Nova Scotia.
Such a great place!
Such a wonderful experience! I was not able to book a massage or facial due to them being fully booked, BUT, I will be booking to come back very soon and will make sure I get to enjoy all services offered. I have never felt so relaxed. A huge thank you to the staff for an amazing first visit. Don't wait, go check them out!!
Needless to say, The owners of this spa are amazing people! not with just profits on their mind like most businesses, but rather fulfilling their dreams of running and operating an out of this world spa. And they’ve done it. This wasn’t just a business opportunity for them, but dreams coming true ???? Christophe and Laetita, you’re doing a fabulous job on the spa and please keep being the amazing addition to this community that we have always needed.❤️ Thank you for coming here and settling down in Nova Scotia!
I cant even review the actual facility since we were turned away... The website and social media accounts for Sensea indicates that there is no need to make reservations and that they accept walk-ins all day. My bf and I drove from Halifax early morning and when we arrived at 11am were told they were booked up and thus they couldnt accommodate us. We were told there was a chance they could squeeze us in and they would call within 30 min to an hour ... so we went and grabbed some food in town and waited hopefully. No one ever called and no one would pick up their line, so we left and headed back to Halifax. 2.5 hours later someone called to say they could fit us in. When we said we had no choice but to come home, there was no apology (or empathy for that matter) and we were simply told " we recommend that people check out our online availability before they come".. A lovely condescending way to end an already poor experience Sensea! Haha We'll drive to Moncton next time for USVA.. We both work in the service industry and my bf is a local business owner...this was just not what one would expect for this type of establishment. Beyond disappointed and annoyed. Take down your posts saying you take walk ins and dont tell potential new clients you will call when you wont. Make reservations mandatory if you dont have the space to accommodate your walk-ins. * I commented on their recent Instagram post as well where it announces to guests that no reservations are required for parties under 5 and I have been blocked by them. SUPER PROFESSIONAL ????
A phenomenal way to rest and relax away from home at a shockingly affordable price. I have gone multiple times now over the last 1 ½ years, and have never been let down. If you follow the steps (hot > cold > rest), you'll feel like a whole new person by the end. The staff have been very kind in my personal experience. They act professional and do their best to remind visitors to adhere to the quiet atmosphere (I've been told to lower my voice on one occasion and they were very kind about it). I'm thankful for that as some loud guests can really ruin the experience. I've found the place a bit crowded at times, but it usually isn't an issue. Especially now since they've added the new set of pools down by the water. It's very appreciated as the pools tend to be popular, and it can be frustrating to have to wait for a group to leave. I only wish they had more food options, but understand that they're still getting set up and are slowly expanding their options. They recently changed their vegetarian / salmon sandwiches, and they are VERY good. The new QR code ordering system is also wonderful. It's quite the experience to have someone deliver you food in a hammock, it almost feels like you're at a resort! Besides that, the addition of some gripping on the pool stairs would be very welcome. I have slipped on a few occasions going into the pools, and it can be quite embarassing. Overall, it's a phenomenal experience, and a great way to get away for a day without travelling too far. I couldn't recommend this place more, and look forward to my next visit!
Truly terrible availability and customer service. I wanted to book a couples massage for myself and my husband, but after checking their website countless times over a period of months, they do not seem to provide this service at all, yet it remains on their website. As a consolation, I tried booking a massage for myself and a spa pass for my husband. Not once after checking for months, has there been availability for those 2 things on the same day. I finally booked the massage for myself and put my husband on a waitlist for a spa pass for that day. Of course no response at all. I tried to contact them by phone several times and get a recorded message even when asking to speak with an agent and no way to leave a message. Just a truly terrible experience start to finish. Would never try again. Do not recommend to others.
This day felt like a vacation. I will be back for sure.
This place is fabulous. I love the thought that was put into every detail of this spa. I will be coming back as often as I can.
Always grateful for a day at SENSEA. Rituals and hammams are a must-do!
I have visited Sensea in winter and summer. My time at Sensea clears my mind and cleanses my body. I sleep very well and feel more grounded for days. Ideally, I would get there more often. Perhaps I will make that self-care commitment? It's clean, and situated in an idylic location.
Amazing experience and views. Wear non-slip flip flops as you you have to navigate hills.
Fabulous experience and amazing towel ritual. Staff are lovely and the set up is rustic, elegant and covid mask friendly. I cant wait to go again!!
A great getaway on a Friday afternoon. If you follow the heat, cold, then relax you get the full experience!
This is easily one of Nova Scotia's most hidden gems having opened in early Spring 2020 amidst all the COVID challenges. They do an amazing job with cleanliness, COVID compliance and ensuring distancing (not just for social distancing needs, but also to ensure tranquility). They've designed it to be very much in tune with nature and you have a beautiful lakeside vantage and access with plenty of hot rooms, pools, hammocks and lounge chairs with fireplaces. I particularly enjoyed the individual yoga platforms in the forest, beside the lake. They provide lockers, towels, shampoo / creams, etc. Big comfy robes and flip flops can be rented. All you really need is yourself and a bathing suit. I have been to numerous spas around the globe and this one is definitely first class all the way and fantastic value too. Do not miss the detox rituals they do in the sauna, absolute highlight. Sidney at reception was super helpful when I called in and everyone we came in contact with was friendly and gracious. No photos from me. . . it's a spa! Leave the phone in the locker and unplug and unwind!
Just Go!!!!
It is an amazing place to spend the day!
Amazing!!! A MUST GO FOR BUSINESS OWNERS!! :)
Loved our visit - it was the first time we were able to secure a spot, and it will not be our last. We arrived at 5:30 and spent the next 3 hours between the Saunas, Hot Tubs and Cold Pools, we could have easily spent another 3 hours there. We're looking at returning in Nov. to celebrate our 15 yr anniversary.
OMGOSH - we freaking love sensea. I have gone three times now and every time I cannot get over how beautiful this place is. The expansion to the pools in the back are a lovely addition. Cannot wait to see what new developments are coming to Sensea!
Very relaxing at night! Staff was friendly and check-in was easy.
Love it here. Hard to get appointments though
A day of doing nothing but relaxing
Place is very nice but the customer service is very poor and the staff are quite rude. Would not recommend for anybody in the HRM. There are better options available and it is not worth the hassle dealing with the staff and owners.
Wonderful way to spend time. Relaxing and Rejuvenating. Love this place and all it offers
Beautiful location and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Was at Nordic spa today for the first time with my handsome fiancé, we were so relaxed it was so peaceful. We absolutely loved everything about the Spa especially the Hammam rooms salt/scrub , it was the last thing we did and we were to refreshed and our skin was so soft. Also loved the hot pool , salmon sandwich and cranberry ciders. We definitely plan to come back in the winter and book a couples massage as well if we can ????
Went to Sensea with a best friend. We had an amazing time and it was very relaxing time. We both needed this and enjoyed it. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely we wl be back! Thanks
Cant call to book an appt, times are sporadic for booking, been trying for weeks to just book my fiancee and her mother for a spa day and can not get times together or days together, if they would take bookings by phone or have someone at least to speak with to find days where both of them would be able to go would be nice, terrible experience with this thus far
We had an awesome day at the spa.. there were 8 co-workers that went. We spent a total of 6 hours there. I enjoyed it so much I'm bringing 4 more friends in October. Can't wait.
This place is absolutely heavenly, I’ve been twice and plan on going back again. Everything is very clean and very relaxing! 10/10 Recommend
So peaceful!!
So glad I finally got to visit this spa! Such a lovely experience - friendly staff, a welcoming environment. And it doesn’t get much better than ordering wine from your phone and having it delivered right to you! That’s service!!!
Had an amazing time. The best of the 4 Nordic spas I’ve been to. Love the orange steam room and salt scrub
The most relaxing experience!
A very beautiful and peaceful place to go. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my birthday here and can't wait to come back.
This is magic place with perfect stuff and service. I'll recommend this is place for every one. Thanks a lot for amazing time.
I took my boyfriend as his birthday surprise and it was the first time for both of us. We LOVED it. Cannot wait to get back. The entire spa was relaxing, beautiful, calming and clean. The staff is so friendly and helpful, they really help make the experience special. I suggest trying out a sauna ritual, it was such an experience! The price point couldn't be any better, you really do get a lot out of a day pass!
This place looks absolutely stunning and I have no doubt it is a fantastic experience, if you can get in. Two friends and I were planning to go to the spa on a Saturday. We were coming from Halifax (an hour away). We tried utilizing their online booking the day before, as they had just launched that option and because of the warnings about high demand and walk-ins being turned away due to capacity. The online booking would not accept mine or my two friends credit cards and kept returning an error that the zip or postal code was entered in incorrectly, it wasn't. There was nothing greyed out anywhere to show that booking was not available. It appeared that the time and day we wanted to book was free. So then we all called....... 5 times. And left messages, but no one returned our calls or even the direct messages to the business. So we got up on Saturday anyway and drove an hour to the spa with the hope that we could still get in as a walk in. When we arrived (before the 10:00 opening as advertised on their website) and they just updated their Facebook page 30 minutes prior to our arrival and prior to opening that they were full for the morning already. Before even opening. My girlfriend went up to talk to one of the receptionists and inquired about the inability to book/not answering the phone or returning calls and was told they will 'try to pick up' and that the option must have been greyed out to book. It wasn't. It was frustrating to drive an hour to be turned away before the place opened. I overheard someone mention that they had driven from Yarmouth (3-4 hour drive). My advice to the company is to not take walk-ins on the weekend and to make booking mandatory, that way people won't drive far distances only to be turned away. I recommend they check their booking software to see if it is working properly too and to pick up the phone/return messages. It's unfortunate because I really want to check this place out and I probably will eventually, but right now the sheer volume of interest and people makes in impossible, which is great for them. I just wish the customer service to potential clients was handled better. I'll probably wait a few months before even thinking about trying again. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
A beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the hot tubs, saunas, heating hammocks and sit by a fire. It was super clean and the staff were very nice. If you can book a massage I highly recommend it. We will be returning many more times. A+
Wife and daughter enjoyed it very much
Beautiful spot and I highly recommend!
Very relaxing! I wish they had more massage appointments available! Very calming. The perfect place to relax!
I really enjoyed my stay at this spa! First time going to a spa and will definitely be back again. Such a relaxing atmosphere. I really enjoyed the hammam and sauna rooms. It was great being able to relax in one of the many pools that they have available. Great little perks was bag for your wet bathing suits, body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the showers (shampoo and conditioner were awesome and left my hair so soft!) And then a choice of various lotions to top it off. Will be back again for sure!
Amazing little Nordic spa in Chester. All the right pieces of gear, and a nice little treat with the bucket dump. Attentive, polite staff, reasonable prices. Having been to Nordic Spas in Iceland and Quebec, I was not expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Highlights- the eucalyptus Hammam is a special treat, and the relaxation room- complete with hammocks and central fire- is very well done, with great rustic charm. And, again, try the bucket dump coming out of the saunas. Cons: water temperature in at least one the hot pools needs to be higher. 10am open and 5pm close really limit visitation times. I may be in the minority, but as a relative local, an early morning trip would be a perfect start to the day. I expect others feel the same about evening times. Would- and will- return. Would recommend to anyone in or visiting Nova Scotia who wants the Nordic Spa experience.
Incredible experience at Sensea Nordic Spa today ! I started off in the saunas, then made my way to the hot tubs. Can’t forget the steam rooms! Finished off with a relaxation massage with Rebekah and it was amazing ! The scenery is to die for and the staff were so friendly ! Highly recommend!! -Kayla
I was there on Tuesday, for my first time, and from the get go, the service and staff were superb. The location was beautiful and watching the sunset was one of the best parts of the experience. I had my first sauna ritual, and I highly recommend it! I will definitely be going back!
Loved this experience more than words can explain!! So relaxing, beautiful and truly enjoyable! We stayed for 4 hours & but next time it will be longer.
Spent a day with a friend at Sensea last week and we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the saunas and pools very much. Very relaxing. Can't wait to return soon.
Such an amazing experience each time I've visited. More food choices would be beneficial but what they have is delicious. Lots of people don't respect the "quiet" signs so staff reinforcement would help.
Felt relaxed and safe.it was a beautiful day lots of areas to relax and pamper yourself Staff were seen wiping down handles and commonly touched surfaces. Can’t wait to go back
Amazing day at Sensea Nordic Spa! Definitely will go back!
What an amazing place, so relaxing. Can't wait to go back!
Absolutely AMAZING highly recommend if your thinking about going DO IT... you will not want to leave
Enjoyed the day pass as all services were booked. It was calming, mindful of your surroundings and very quiet. Staff is exceptional.
Lovely location, and it has everything you need for a relaxing spa day!
Such an AMAZING experience. Loved it and can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Nova Scotia. The staff is incredible and the space is just beautiful. Absolutely do the Hammam sauna followed by salt scrub, recommend experiencing at least one of the rituals at the dry saunas, and wind down in the relaxation hut in a hammock or watch the sunset from one of the hot pools. You will definitely have a great time.
My girlfriends and I were so excited to go to the Sensea Nordic Spa, however our experience was absolutely terrible. None of us had ever been there before, but google reviews looked great (we know now that this is because the owner deletes all negative comments and/or gaslights the situation and replies to reviews saying they ‘can’t find this person in the system/so did they even come to their spa?’). Anyway, after taking 20 minutes to check in, the receptionist did not tell us how to navigate the spa services. Did not tell us where to go, or what services were included in a spa pass. When we got into the locker room, it was extremely overcrowded (no COVID signs/regulations/maximum capacity signs posted). My sister could not find her locker because they had given her a men’s locker room number. Upon entering the first spa building, one of the employees scolded us, saying that they had a ‘whisper only’ policy so clients could enjoy a nice relaxing, peaceful stay. So we replied “ok, not a problem. No one told us about this policy upon check in or in any of the confirmation/appointment emails”. Later, we were walking back up the road (completely silent), when the same employee approached us again saying that “someone” had complained about the noise level because we were apparently speaking too loudly down at the cold pools. We were not speaking any louder than anyone else, and in fact found several groups that afternoon speaking quite loudly, but they were not spoken to that we knew of. The last straw came when the employee “tattled on us” to the owner. The owner made it a point to find us and antagonize us about having to be talked to twice about not whispering. One of us in our group told her that we were very upset about being targeted for no reason - we are all professional, reasonable people and were very careful about complying with their noise level policies. We expressed to the owner that we were unable to have a peaceful, relaxing stay because the staff did nothing but try and make us feel unwelcome. The owner said and did absolutely nothing to apologize. We believe we were unfairly targeted either because 1) we were the youngest group at the spa or 2) because we had a person of colour/visible minority in our group (all other clients at the spa were white/Caucasian). Either reason is absolutely unacceptable. We also saw one staff member speak loudly (not quite yelling) across the road to another employee - like, how is that ok? In terms of COVID protocols, none of us were required to sign a waiver or answer any COVID questions. None of the pools or buildings had any signs posted regarding maximum capacity, except the 2 essential oils sauna rooms. Also, this facility is not at all equipped for people with mobility issues. Walkways and paths are all loose gravel and have steep hills. If you purchase a drink, you are obligated to leave a tip, as there is not a ‘no tip’ option when you go to pay with your card. We also saw a staff member come down to one of the pools and totally embarrass another client, telling her they have a one drink per person per hour policy. Please do not choose this spa unless you plan on being completely silent the entire time. We will definitely never go back again. Do not waste your money. The facilities they have are very nice, but really a spa pass only gets you access to a few pools, a sauna, and some scrubbing salts.
Thank you SENSEA Nordic Spa - I wanted to share what a positive experience we had yesterday. Myself, along with my two sisters visited the spa yesterday morning and stayed the entire day. Thank you for making the Nordic spa experience truly memorable, relaxing, rejuvenating and peaceful. The property was gorgeous and well maintained. Exceptional levels of cleanliness and small little touches did not go unnoticed! The food was wholesome and comforting (the soup and tea were amazing)! The small touches in the change rooms were so beneficial and the robes were cozy and warm. The overall ritual/ pattern and layout was done right. I felt so connected to nature. A very grounding experience overall. The wood fire pits and the smell of fresh wood and essential oils created such a comforting, calming and positive experience. The hammams and salt scrub experience was purifying and left us feeling invigorated. The weather was definitely on our side yesterday and the sun coming through the relaxation room late afternoon was spot on! I found everyone to be respectful of the whisper policy and although a little crowding in and out of areas overall social distancing wasn’t hard. My one suggestion for an additional add on service would be a warm pool. I spent a fair amount of time in the heated hammocks reading and would have liked a longer water experience. Adding a warm pool would definitely bring me back time and time again! Thank you again ????????♀️????
2 different visits, 2 different experiences. 1st. Started off relaxing by a fire, had a massage, then enjoyed the heated hammocks (with a view of the water), had some amazing soup, then relaxed in the outdoor heated pools! I booked my next appointment before I left the 1st! Unfortunately my 2nd experience was not so spectacular ???? My "body treatment" massage, which I was told later isn't really a massage even though that is how its listed, was terrible and anything but relaxing. It was almost like she had no experience what so ever. Expansions have been made to have a second pool area which was beautiful.
Amazing spa, beautiful setting and so clean! I loved it and can't wait to go back as much as possible!
I had an amazing day at the Sensea Nordic spa. Hot and cold plunging experience with the very relaxing hot dry saunas and steam spas. Make sure you do the rituals they are wonderful and interesting. The environment here is beautiful and natural
What a great way to spend your day relaxing...will be going back in the fall and winter for sure.
Yesterday I had my second Sensea experience, with my first being in February. Visiting both in the winter and summer was fantastic. The entire experience is incredible, the staff was all excellent!! Sensëa is the best way to spend a day and I can not wait to return!!
Wonderful evening spent at Sensea. Have been there in the middle of winter and now in July. Both are great experiences! Wonderful staff, clean facility, great views! The ritual that is done every few hours is something nice to see! In the winter we received watermelon after which was a really nice addition. Overall it is a magical place!
We visited the spa when we were out from Saskatchewan, visiting our daughter & son-in-law. We've never been to a place like this so it was a completely new experience for us. It's so beautiful & relaxing. From the pools to the saunas to the rituals, we felt so refreshed after each session & our day there. The owners & staff were all so friendly. We will definitely go back & we highly recommend SENSEA NORDIC SPA as a must see, go to place.
Finally a place like this East of Quebec. Great atmosphere, covid compliant, helpful staff. Will go again. Only downside is no coffee available on site if you plan to arrive early for the day.
Staff very welcoming, the smell of essential oils throughout the place instantly relax you. Highly recommend the snuggly rental robe for 8$ loved the salt ritual, the whole trip treated my soul and the spa pass was well worth it! Can’t wait to book a massage for next time.
Amazing experience; would highly recommend! Felt very rejuvenated at the end of the day. Will definitely be returning.
If you haven't tried this type of spa do it. Price is right and its a great experience. I'll be a regular!
The experience was an absolute pleasure. It's is a fantastic get away to escape a busy life. It's set in a tranquil location, is quiet and exceptionally clean. The staff are nothing less than professional and friendly. Will definitely be going back many more times.
It was better than any five-star hotel spa I've ever been to. Rebecca's facial treatment was good, and her service was more than good.
Peace on Earth! The amenities are top notch. Clean. Staff is very friendly. Food is delicious. I've been half a dozen times and I've never had a bad experience!
Beautiful and relaxing space. Highly suggest checking it out, it does not disappoint. I cannot wait to go back again, would especially like to go in the evening, would love to see all the lights on and take in the night sky.
Amazing place!! Wether its the all day pass or getting a massage or fascal. Very relaxing! Love the saunas, steam rooms and hot and cold pools. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. I will definitely return again and again.
This was an outstanding experience. So relaxing. The staff was wonderful. And the facility is so nice. I'll definitely be going back!
Relaxing and rustic atmosphere. Book treatments in advance, bring your flip flops, and prepare to leave feeling at ease. Don’t bother wearing make up, it will come off at some point and you’re beautiful just the way you are!
Great relaxation surrounded with nature
Great experience. From checking in to leaving. All the staff were very friendly and willing to help with any questions. The spa itself is absolutely beautiful and so affordable. Cannot wait to return!
What a beautiful day with friends! I can't wait to come again during the different seasons, as they continue to add more amenities to the property.
Beautiful and rustic. Been to Nordic spas in Quebec, and this is an awesome addition to the Canadian Spa scene!!! Delicious lunch, lots of wine. Especially enjoyed the Hammam. Hardest part was being quiet! Definitely go back
Absolutely amazing place. Saunas, steam rooms, salt scrubs and lotion station. Has a beautiful view over the lake. Rest area is so cozy. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for creating an amazing place and magical experience.
Went there with 4 girl friends yesterday. It was so much beyond our expectations. Scandinavian, Russian, barrel and hammam saunas. Everyone will find what they like. I thought it would be cold but the pools and saunas were so hot that we actually dived into cold pool. Recommend to take your own slippers, robes are comfy ($8 per day) but are all alike. Will certainly go again.
Thos place is much needed here in Nova Scotia and what an amazing spot they picked to put it in the Chester area.
This facility is absolutely beautiful. The experience was exceptional from the setting to the staff as well as the options for therapy via pools, saunas and steam rooms. The ritual in the sauna with essential oil aromatherapy was especially delightful. The relaxation area were you may take a nap in a hammock or take in some yoga in the forest was especially peaceful and calming. I loved the day and will be back again very soon.
The grounds and facility are wonderful. Loved all the services! Don gave the best massage! Will more than likely be back. If you have mobility issues I would not reccomend this place. I wish the bathrobes were a bit bigger. That's fine - I can bring my own next time. If you need to contact them - email them. They do not answer the phone. Which is my biggest complaint. You cannot leave and go back to your car for anything. Once you leave you are done for the day. All in all wonderful relaxing experience.
Clean, professional, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Well done!
The best place to relax and unwind. First time there this past weekend and definitely won’t be my last!!! The massage from Mason was awesome!
First visit was today. To say that it was amazing ???? would be an understatement. The hot tubs (I tried all) were at just the right temperature. Loved the Humman, visited multiple times. Loved the salt scrubs afterwards. Was able to attend the1:30 ritual in the sauna. The ice and the frozen fruit was a nice touch. I look forward to going again. Only problem is that I will be most likely waiting a long time because it is just so much fun and it is just that popular.
The Sensea Spa was lovely. Everything was relaxing and enjoyable. The towel dance in the sauna is not to be missed. As the facilities are a bit small I’m not sure I would want to be there on a weekend when it was full, but my weekday visit was lovely.
Such a relaxing and luxurious experience! I had a great time with friends and we definitely will go Sensea again!
Incredible experience! Beautiful scenery, wonderful staff, exciting and relaxing! The Sauna "Rituals" are a must try!! Can't wait to enjoy this on an evening in the fall, with all the colours and lights...will be amazing!! Well done!!
Incredible experience! Will definitely be back and will recommend this to everyone! The hammam room and salt scrub is amazing!
Wonderfull experience!
I had no idea what to expect when my niece invited me to Sensea Nordic Spa. I thought what are we going to do there all day? OMG, I was absolutely blown away by this amazing facility. It was so calming and relaxing all I had to think about was what relaxing station do I go to next. The staff was amazing, the facilities were spotless, the day was gorgeous and the company fabulous. We enjoyed all of the pools, the fire pits, the hammocks, the loungers and my favorite part was the rituals in the saunas! Thanks Tiffany!
Great spot for a day of relaxation. The staff are friendly and very helpful. the change rooms have pretty much everything you need, including shampoo, conditioner, soap and hair drier. Even a bag for you wet swimsuit is provided. Be sure to experience the towel dancing. Prebook to avoid disappointment. We will be back.
Amazing place to relax, unwind and enjoy the thermal experience. Highly recommend.
Beautiful and relaxing. I recommend it to everyone, couples and friends! Hot tubs are relaxing and cold water is exhilarating. Lots of places to quietly enjoy nature and unplug.
This is a must go! A hidden gem just outside of Chester. It has so many amenities and the staff are so so wonderful. You will leave feeling relaxed and clear headed from being in nature. Also to mention the prices are very reasonable for all the services and food! This was my third time going to sensea yesterday and I had just as much fun as I did the first time I went. Start the car!!!!
The spa was clean, quiet, and relaxing! I would recommend to friends and family.
I loved the experience at Sensea! It is a wonderful space for relaxation and unwinding that is unique in Nova Scotia. The staff are awesome and the space is so inviting. The Aufguss is an added bonus- makes you feel like you have escaped to Europe!!
Sensëa Nordic spa is amazing! I had the most relaxing and peaceful day. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Would go back again.
Such a beautiful, relaxing spa. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!
A definite must-experience! The woodsy setting is so serene and a spa pass is so affordable, I can't wait to go again!
What an experience. I can’t wait to return to this spa and watch its transformation over the next year or so. The landscaping and up coming addition of over night accommodations will be spectacular. So quiet and peaceful. Hammocks, seating and raised yoga spaces arranged throughout the woods. 5 saunas, salt scrubs, dip pools, relaxing music piped through the property. Very limited food options, but they had only reopened a few days earlier and will be adding more options. Wonderful staff.
Very relaxing spa experience like no other I've heard of in NS! The sauna rituals are beautifully performed and is an exhilarating hot/cold experience. The robes - complimentary rental with massage treatment - are super lush and comfy.
I went for the full experience having fun ran into some small sauna's but most of all wanted to drink a little bit and they made drink water just before making me feel like i am a drunk
LOVE!!
Amazing day. Highly recommend for a once-in-a-lifetime spa experience. Fantastic services and staff. Can’t wait to return!
Had a really great time, will definitely be back.
Tried to book a spa day for my wife and her friend online for January or February no availability online. Messaged no one willing to help(online only no one available to have a conversation) they just messaged back said dates may not be released yet. So if you are booked up to January 7 and you have no other dates available how do we get booked. I just stopped trying to book and going to another spa.
Hats off to you guys and all the staff! We had such an amazing day. We chose to go in winter and I highly recommend. It was beautiful and cold but I felt warm to the bone while in the hot pools and saunas. And you really feel alive when you do that quick plunge into the cold water! Advice for everyone, bring a warm hat in the winter and drink lots of water !! I really was so impressed. Planning on my next visit already!!!
Went to Sensea for a relaxing girls night and was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was absolutely stunning, and the facilities were luxurious. My favourite part was the orange scented steam room followed by a salt scrub. I was already planning my next visit before I left.
I have been coming to the spa as a regular now, almost since it has opened. I recommend for anyone, as it is a wonderful retreat to relax and unwind!! The only down side lately has been ongoing construction, that can be loud and very unwelcomed at times. This is understandable, as I know they are expanding to make things even better. What is not ok, is they do not announce this on their website as a warning, or even tell you when you arrive. This may not be ok with many, expecting quiet/whisper only, as advertised -(
What a great spot! Relaxing atmosphere, great staff, etc. I have been 3 times and booked my 4th. Can't wait to go back :)
The location is absolutely beautiful, the staff are attentive, friendly and the customer service is top-notch! I never thought I'd enjoy a cold plunge, but it was so refreshing after relaxing in the hot bath. My deep tissue massage with Hillary was magical, and those veg sandwiches are to die for! I highly recommend.
So my husband took me on my birthday weekend to Nordic spa for a nice relaxing time. Though this place is beautiful, the staff not so much. This is my husband and my first time here so we are we NOT aware of the “rules” policies etc. we booked massages for each one of us; I was ahead of my husband. Moreover his massage was booked an hour after my massage. That being said, I wore the robe and he stayed in his clothes. As we were walking down, 2 staff women gave him death stares and started mumbling and saying “I hate when people do that”. “Goddd”. I asked my husband, are we doing something wrong??? 2 of the staff members were looking at u from top to bottom. I went then for my massage then he was waiting by the fire, killing time. Apparently the same two women were putting logs in and called another employee and the employee explained to my husband that there’s a bathing suit policy. That employee was nice when he explained it but given everything, your staff made my husband feel like he was trespassing off the streets. Shameful! How are we supposed to know that if the receptionist didn’t explain this to us??? The receptionist was well aware we were new. If you folks want to go ahead and put policies, go ahead but make sure to politely communicate that to ur customers rather than treating them with such zero class and being unprofessional. For a place so nicely built and thought of, there should be more professional staff. So management, I hope this gets back to you to really discipline ur staff. It was Saturday Nov 6 at 10:30-11:30 while this happened to be specific! Thanks
Had an amazing day at SENSEA. Favourites of the day were the Hammam rooms/salt scrubs, the smoked salmon sandwich and the little barrel sauna. Everything was lovely, though - can't wait to go back again!
My favourite is the sauna ritual, hot steam blowing in your face....I could stay all day
Best day ever ????
My best friend and I went for her birthday and it was the best experience! It was so relaxing and rejuvenating. I feel like a whole new woman. Taking that time for myself as a new mum has been so beneficial. I feel like I hit a restart button and have a whole new lease on life. Cannot recommend this place enough and looking forward to my next visit which will be very soon!
It was great. Only reason for 4 stars was that they offer delivery of food and drinks where ever you order from via scan bars. We ordered. Took forever. 20 minutes ish. Had to walk up and grab our order. More then 1 worker in the food and drink area would remedy this issue im sure. 1st world problem really. Over all. Great experience.
Travelled from PEI for a girls day and loved every minute of it. This is an absolutely beautiful location, extremely friendly staff, and was exactly what I needed. I will definately be back!!
Don’t want to get into too much detail because the staff are too scared to take ANY criticism. Anyways. The staff followed our group of eight the whole time. They were rude and made up there own petty rules because they didn’t like us. Also very unprofessional, my group spent hundreds of dollars and the staff were caught talking behind our backs several times. Even in the silent zones.
A spa experience you've got to have!!
Absolutely the most relaxing experience I've ever had. The facilities are clean, and beautiful. The staff are helpful and friendly. We're already booked in for our next visit!
A long wait for the reservation but oh so worth it. Extremely relaxing, clean, spacious, just a beautiful spa. I encourage you to give yourself this treat and make it a point to visit Sensea.
The sauna sessions were completely amazing! Very professional staff! The aromas awoke all your senses! Very relaxing! Loved the atmosphere throughout all the spa areas! Enjoyed the hot tubs & pools! The hammock area was very relaxing as well! Very reasonably priced and loved that you could stay as long as you wanted! I would highly recommend Sensea Nordic Spa!
Fantastic
Great experience and the Staffs are wonderful!! Highly recommended!!!
Sunsea Nordic spa now in Chester! Wow r&r was perfect! 29 degrees but always a breeze and hot/cold tubs/showers and so much more! What a relaxing way to spend the day!
Went to the Sensea Nordic Spa yesterday,I must say it was the best time I have had in a long time, highly recommend going ,will def be going again ❤️
I had the most wonderful time this past Thursday with a friend of mine. The pools were wonderful, the saunas were amazing. The view from the pool was to die for. Would love to have an evening experience!!! Can’t wait to go back.
Hi, I am trying to book my appointment and I am unable to book anything between Oct 12th to April of 2022... already have gift cards...phone number just sends me to website...no customer service...anyone out there? This seems to be the only chance of getting answers about anything. Help!!!
Had a wonderful relaxing day! Facility is beautiful.
We went on February 16th. Originally my mom was going to surprise me for my birthday and when she had called to make reservations when they first opened they told her it was not necessary and that they accepted walk ins. As the weeks went on, we gathered a couple more girls and decided to call and make a reservation and thankfully we did. I have a feeling we would have been one of the unfortunate groups to be turned away by this common miscommunication. I was also put on a wait list for a massage when they first opened and a space never did come available in time. I have since re booked for the spa in May and there is currently no services available for then either which is disappointing as it would add to the whole experience. Perhaps they should look at hiring more RMT to keep up with the demand. We got a couple of “loud” complaints and even a threat to be kicked out but this didn’t come as a surprise since there was a few other groups there who were all saying they had the same warnings so clearly this is and has been an issue. When you go as a group, it is very hard to limit conversations and I believe we did so within reason and respectfully but clearly that was not good enough. I should note that this was solely in the outdoor pools. When we were in the steam rooms and saunas we respected the quiet zone. We tried hard to not let it ruin our experience despite constantly being told we were ruining others. I also feel like it would be a good idea to have a food area outside of the “relaxation room” or an area where socializing would be more acceptable. The facility was beautiful and very clean. It really did offer such a relaxing day for me and the 4 others that joined me. Despite my “complaints”, I will be back as I know there are some kinks they will have to work. Hopefully they are taking the constructive criticism usefully.
Magical and relaxing, especially after dark. The twinkly lights, campfires, hot and cold pools and sauna were so lovely.
Great place to unwind and relax!
Very nice experience. Wonderful staff. Very relaxing and calming
Went for the first time today, spent the entire afternoon and the experience was a 10/10 ! Beautiful and so calming .. I loved everything about Sensea! Can’t wait to return .
Absolutely beautiful place! Was a very relaxing experience. I didn’t even get the massage the time I went and it was still just as amazing. Will be trying the massage next time though. Can’t wait to go again! Plan on making it a monthly trip especially with such a great price!
Pleasantly surprised! A brand new experience!
don't know how to answer there phones
First visit but not the last. An awesome day with lots of new experiences. My skin feels amazing.
I had such a relax time with my friends????♀️specially the sauna ritual was amazing????Ill definitely try again!
My mother and I had a beautiful relaxing time! A few hours went by in a flash, we really enjoyed the sauna, the pools, hammocks and fire pits. Not to mention being able to order drinks to wherever we were. Totally recommend and I’ll be going back!
We had a great day at Sensea, can't wait to go back. The spa is well designed with many great areas to relax and unwind. Staff were friendly and available if you needed anything.
Such a great experience, have been twice now, will be back again!
Great place to chill and relax, love the environment, wonderful staff, will go there again.
Even if I try really hard, I can't find anything negative to say about Sensea. The location is beautiful, serene and perfect for the spa. The spa itself has all the right ingredients to trigger those feelings of zen and release of stress, from the layout, the various scents of heated wood from the saunas, the forest scents and the occadional wafting of essential oils here and there, the soft spa music playing, the trickling of water and all the visual beauty. More importantly the staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful and professional. Last but not least, I've been to other thermal spas and with the gaining in popularity, they always ended up allowing far too many people in which ruined the entire experience with overcrowding. Sensea seems to have a good grip on how many people to take in in a day and avoiding the overcrowding temptation of more clients. Overall, an amazing experience!
Had an absolutely perfect afternoon/evening! Loved my experience it was relaxing and refreshing! Can't wait to go back
It was great, definitely going again, it was relaxing, beautiful pretty spot, friendly, lovely decorated, lovely music playing in all areas. I enjoyed it, I recommend it for sure!
Amazing amenities and views! Will definitely be back!
Nice experince, the salt rubs and aromatherapy wet saunas were well worth it. There is construction going on as they expand the grounds and the hammering and sawing really took away from the quiet restful experince. I know it would cost more but maybe pay the construction teams a premium to work from 5am till you open or overnight? 4 stars due to the noise.
This place is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The staff are friendly and massages were top notch. So glad we live close enough to return again soon. I will be recommeding this place to all my friends and family.
Extremely relaxing. Clean. Peaceful
The first time that I have been able to relax in years. Friendly and helpful staff. Great amenities. Highly recommended.
Great way to spend the day. Missing a few things that would make this a five star review, but they are new so I hope they continue to improve.
This place is a little peace of heaven! We arrived a few hours early before our couples massage and wish we had of come in the morning. So many things to nourish and relax the mind and body! Highly recommend!
My sister and I spent the day at SENSEA...it was amazing! The view is incredible! Would highly recommend. We can't wait to go back!
Amazing way to relax a day away
Very relaxing!! Beautiful place
I loved this place so much! It was beyond my expectation. The whole place is designed to be relaxing. It was a perfect choice for me to relieve my stress. I told my friends that I could go every weekend. I love that much :)
Epic relaxation spot! Book ahead! Worth the drive. Highly recommend catching the sauna rituals - this was a highlight for me. It was a hot summer day & the cold plunge pools felt incredible. Lots of space to spread out - two sets of pools, lots of lakeside hammocks, loungers, chairs around a fire pit. There is a snack shack which has few options for food and many options for adult beverages- you can order from the pool using the QR code ????
I love this place!! We had so much fun and we’ll definitely be back!
This little gem is absolutely amazing, it's a place to enjoy and be mindful of the things your body needs. Life is so fast paced now a days and being able to enjoy this beautiful spot is a blessing. My sister and I have the pleasure of visiting this spot every month and I have yet to be disappointed. The facial is a must along with the almond croissant, YUM !
This place does anything but relax you. It is an extremely huge waste of money. The staff are unbelievably rude. There was even one staff member who was working, but wearing her bathing suite and taking up space in the other service areas; no not just the sauna. They do not follow a single covid restriction, I have no idea how this place is even still open or how I’m not seeing more complaints than I am. There are no staff members monitoring the service areas to ensure the rules are being followed. I’m utterly disappointed as I had to wait three months for my appointment. I asked to speak with management upon leaving but the receptionist told me “shes busy” then asked me to leave so she could serve the party of 8 that was entering the already very crowded spa. It was a Tuesday too, which you would think would be quieter. Do NOT waste your money! You can be treated like a human at a spa in your own town or city, or even just go to a swimming centre - I’m sure it would be cleaner anyway.
Very affordable, wonderful staff and a complete relaxation and detoxification for the mind, body and spirit
When I think about sensea spa a few words come to mind. Paradise and Tranquillity. From the moment you check in there is a calmness that takes you away from everything and leaves you feeling peaceful and relaxed. The addition of the heated hammocks is pure bliss and I could fall asleep for days. The staff is so friendly and accommodating to your every need so don't hesitate to ask for anything. In the eating yurt the smoked salmon sandwich was delicious paired with a cider from no boats on Sunday. There are many different choices of beverages and light snacks to enjoy sitting by the fireplace. One thing which is a must is make sure you book in advance. Its hard to believe that you get all this for the price you pay. My wife and I will definitely be back. Thank you for providing this truly wonderful experience.
Beautiful spa. Relaxing atmosphere. Will be back.
Sensea is located in such a beautiful spot in Chester, NS. So serene and peaceful!! Will definitely be going back!
Well I guess I will never know whether or not I would have had a great experience at this spa because I do not support any business that supports a tyrannical government and is asking for vax passes inorder to go there. I wouldn't even give it one star but have to inorder to post this comment.
Amazing place to go to relax for the day.
Around 40 minutes' drive from downtown Halifax. Very quite and decent place with SPA and sauna. Food and beverage are provided on the spot with reasonable prices. But during the COVID, you need to make a reservation on their website beforehand. I would definitely come again!
Perfect! Just come here and enjoy! Absolutely cost-worthy!
I spent a lovely September Sunday afternoon with two friends at Sensea Nordic Spa. It was so lovely and relaxing. We had never experienced the hot/cold/relax/repeat Nordic spa routine before this and it was definitely something we didn't know we were missing until now. The whole experience was calming and comfortable. The robes we rented from Sensea and wore were so cozy and gave that extra feeling of luxury. The relaxation stations scattered around the property were also so nice. It was a great way to experience beautiful Nova Scotia landscape and a new amazing experience in our province. We'll definitely be back!
I had a hot stone massage from Hilary, which was excellent. The whole experience was very relaxing. Areas of the spa are designated either whisper or quiet zones, so it's very calming. The orange essential oil infused steam room with the salt scrub afterwards was my favourite. They would be even better if they improved their food choices.
My husband and I decided to try Sensea out while on vacation and boy are we happy we did. From the friendly and professional staff to the amazing amenities, our visit was amazing! We can't wait to visit again!
Amazing Nordic spa. Atmosphere was very relaxing and calming.
I’m impressed. For the price and the location it’s perfect ! Good drink menu and food selection could be a bit wider but overall the place is phenomenal
This was my second time at a Nordic Spa (1st time at the Chester location). It was a wonderful, relaxing evening. The staff was very helpful, the location has a beautiful view & going in the evening I think also adds a totally different experience especially with all the lights lit up. I can’t wait for my next spa evening!!
Beautiful spa - spending the day is one of my favorite things to do! Saunas, cold plunge, hot tubs, rituals, outdoor fires - it’s got it all.
My Wife Brittany attended the Spa in September and loved every minute of it. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quality luxury spa experience.
Absolutely the most amazing place around to de-stress and relax! Staff is friendly and always accommodating. I have been 3 times and each visit has never disappointed
Beautiful facility, beautiful place, and wonderful experience! Very zen, very relaxing!
Finally had the opportunity to go to Sensea earlier this summer and it did not disappoint! It was an absolutely perfect day and loved all the different pools and saunas to try out. Can’t wait to go again soon!
Had the most relaxing experience at Sensa Spa on my birthday with a close friend. Left feeling refreshed and reenergized. Would recommend 100%
Such an amazing experience!! Would definitely recommend Sensea Spa to anyone who is looking for a nice getaway for the day. Super relaxing and clean. Can't wait to go back again !!
A beautiful facility not a far drive from Halifax. Peaceful areas with nicely designed spa components combining Nordic traditional balneotherapies, Turkish Bath Houses traditions and Nova Scotia charms. We can’t wait to enjoy this please as it continues to grow and expand. We will be back. Many thanks ????
Sensea is a wonderful treat! I have visited three times in the last 6 months, and there is always something new being developed and improvements being made. For my visit yesterday I was excited to see the new Heated Hammocks ready to use, and I can see a new plunge pool under construction near the Sauna entrance. On my second visit just over a month ago, there were some updates being made to the hot tubs so they were a few degrees cooler than normal (but still lovely). We were given the option to cancel it given a discount on our bill so that was much appreciated. Things to remember to bring: non-medical mask to be worn in reception, dressing rooms, and during treatments, a toque, flip flops, a small water bottle that can fit in your robe pocket, your own robe if you want to avoid the rental fee, sunglasses. Hearty eaters might want a snack before they arrive; the food options on site are quite light. No complaints, as the menu absolutely complements the entire experience. But the $7 vegetable sandwich - while yummy - is not going to fill up the hearty eaters in your group.
It is difficult to get in but so glad we finally got a spot! Booked a 5pm appointment. Was worried it would not be enough time but was just enough to get to enjoy the services available. Not to crowded, scenario was beautiful! Can't wait until the accomodations open up!
The Nordic spa is a beautiful spot to getaway for the day. The prices are great considering all you get to do with the day pass - pools, saunas, massages. You won’t be disappointed!
I loved the 2 different steam room options (eucalyptus and orange) with various salt scrubs available. The music would rotate between serene spa and guided meditations. The scheduled meditations in the dry sauna were incredible as well. Great layout and service. I stayed at the Mecklenburgh Inn, located just 5 min away and it was a fantastic b&b! Would highly recommend for an overnight trip.
This was our first time at SENSEA Nordic Spa and we loved it! There are so many options for you to spend your day; we ended up being there for seven hours. The saunas, rituals and steam rooms are so nice and relaxing and there are many different pools depending on how hot or cold you want to be. It wasn't overly busy while we were there on a Saturday afternoon, and we were able to try everything that the spa offered for the spa pass. Next time we will try a massage for sure! The food was good, we enjoyed our veggie sandwich and almond croissant; they also have a decent selection of beer/wine. We are already booked to go back again, and we can't wait! If you are looking to relax this is the place!
My experience was great! The staff was super friendly, helpful and polite. Lots of relaxation and comfort! Advice this place as an excellent getaway from the day-to-day troubles and routine.
This was our first time going to any spa didn't know what to expect. We loved it. We felt like we were down south and the staff were awesome. We can't wait yo go back. We would like to make it a monthly thing. So relaxing. ????
Great place for relaxation of the mind, soul and body! I have been here two times and will be back many more ! Cant wait for the over night accommodations. I went with my mom the first time and a significant other the second time. Versatile in with who you can enjoy the attraction with.
We had such an amazing time here. It was so nice to have a relaxing environment in nature instead of just being in your traditional spa setting. The grounds are beautiful and clean and quiet, with a perfect layout.
Such an awesome, relaxing and exhilarating experience ☺️ It poured with the rain the whole time we were there but that actually added to our enjoyment and made it even more invigorating. We loved the setting amongst the trees, it was wonderful sitting in the pools and looking out over the water. They limit how many people are there and it never felt cramped or busy, we tried everything that we wanted to and my skin felt amazing after the hot/cold cycles and the salt scrub. Can’t wait to go back in the snow - that will be magical!
Great experience- time well spent relaxing in a beautiful spot! Will definitely be back ! Melanie
Had an amazing massage with Amanda and enjoyed the Spa experience after. I would highly recommend the Ritual Aufguss-Wintergreen Frost by Sukhpal. A suggestion would be to have more access to the towels then just in the locker area.
Stunning location and friendly and helpful staff make for an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Already planning my next visit!
Highly recommend Sensea Spa if you're looking to relax. Best down time I've ever had! Can't wait to visit again!
I experienced the spa on its first day and loved it! 3 saunas to choose from 2 steams, 2 hot pools overlooking a lake and a plunge pool made it a fantastic experience. We were greeted with fresh fruit after the aufguss ritual, lemon water, fresh robes and towels, and a lotion bar to finish after a shower in the fab new change areas. Go see for yourself!
Had a fantastic afternoon. Great facility, not too crowded. Felt so relaxed after visit. Looking forward to going back to try other services!
Awesome afternoon at Seasea Nordic Spa. Enjoy the hot pool, sauna and ritual and much more. Looking forward to my next visit.
I went to the sensea first time yesterday with my spouse, there was nothing that I didn't love about it, such a relaxing and satisfying experience. It's amazing for clearing your mind!! staff was phenomenal, highly recommend to anyone, can't wait to go back!
We recently went to Sensea for a much needed day of relaxation and escape from busy city life, however it wasn't what we hoped or expected. While there are silence and whisper only signs posted throughout the facility there was absolutely no regard to these signs whatsoever amongst guests; nor was there any enforcement or reminders to guests. The main pools were filled with loud conversation and boisterous laughing akin to a busy restaurant... we even encountered someone swearing out loud to herself in the main pool when her online shopping order couldn't be completed on her cell phone. The smaller saunas and steam rooms had doors opening and closing about every 12 seconds which also killed any relaxation vibe we hoped to find. While the lunch was decent, the amount of plastic waste from the containers and cutlery greatly detracted from the spa ambiance; as did the drilling and sawing from the construction of new structures. We understand that the owners may want to expand and enhance and maintain their facility, however a warning to expect construction during our visit would have gone a long way. I really wanted to love this place and we are long over due to have this sort of facility near to Halifax. The setting is beautiful and the facility was clean and generally well maintained, but the whole experience left us feeling like we had been to a busy tourist attraction rather than feeling relaxed and refreshed after a chill day at the spa.
Great place and very friendly staff. Its definitely a unique experience
Such an amazing place to relax! Can't wait to go back!
Very rude staff, forced us to tip, didn’t let us drink the bottle of wine we bought, and we caught them talking about us behind our back. We were snapped at when walking into the sauna. Pools are clean at least. They blocked me on Facebook for leaving a negative review. Very awful customer service.. Won’t be back even though we had another trip planned. This review will probably get deleted too for some odd reason! Makes sense why they have no bad reviews.. lol Also the fact that they blocked me on Facebook is beyond weird. I work in the service industry and I am very confused at the lack of resolution or apology. We spent around $600 to be treated like this. Anyways, it was a disappointing trip to say the least. Edit: Very interesting reply from an owner of a business. Let me debunk every thing you just threw my way. First of all, we were told any and all management were away for the weekend. So that means either the same employees who harassed us replied to this review or you replied this to save face. (As you mentioned ‘you’ remember ‘me’ perfectly) I did not communicate with ANY employees other than to ask for a wristband from lost and found. I wrote this review for my coworkers who had a horrible time. Secondly, why would a group of people who spent hundreds of dollars to visit a spa leave after ten minutes of mistreatment? We’re not just going to throw away money like we’re millionaires. The first thing any employee said to us was “Usually I’m not RUDE but...”. As I said, I work in the service industry and I would never talk to a customer in that manner no matter my mood. Why is it that you charged us $40 for a bottle of wine and didn’t allow us to drink it? Why is it that your employees were caught talking horribly about us and admitted to following us around? Why were we snapped at when opening the door to a sauna? Nobody said anything to us other than rude remarks. No ‘please quiet down’ or anything along those lines were communicated to us. Kindness goes a LONG way. We were there to have a great day but your staff had a huge attitude problem from the minute we walked in. We talked with everyone around us and absolutely nobody had an issue and they agreed with us about the huge attitude issue and we laughed it off. Clearly you know you did something wrong as you deleted three reviews and blocked me on Facebook. I know many other people who came to your spa in a group that had the exact same experience. Thanks for taking our money and providing this amazing experience! I hope you re evaluate the way you treat paying customers that are acting so called ‘inappropriately’. And finally, yes you did delete three previous reviews, and blocked me on Facebook. Very, suspicious behaviour. Explains why you have no bad reviews as I said before! And you also deleted reviews from my coworkers. You turned a bad experience that could’ve been fixed with an apology into a terrible experience! A memorable day to say the least
I love this place. I go as often as I can and after reading some terrible reviews here this is the advice I give every friend; the first time is going to be awkward like the first time at a new gym. You dont know where to go or what to do. You dont know what to bring or the etiquette of the space. So ask questions and advocate for yourself! The experience is meant to be relaxing and private so they expect you to ask questions if you need help. It's not a guided tour at the zoo. Pay attention to signage and be respectable and conscious of people around you. After a couple trips you will get the lay of the land and understand and feel comfortable. You aren't the most confident on the first day at the gym! The price is very reasonable for the time and amenities available. I've gone about 10 times this year and every time they has been clear infrastructure development. Having troubles booking check often. I check almost every day. It's a beautiful destination of course it's going to be booked! Complaining a business is always booked because they are popular and actively growing is absurd. They have guided sauna rituals every day. Take the time to learn the space and make it work for you. A 40 minute drive from the city is very reasonable and it's a beautiful destination. Thank you for having this vision and providing this space!
My day at Sensea was like no other. An amazing massage by Amanda followed by relaxation in the most beautiful surroundings
My experience at SENSEA was wonderful! From the smell of the fire burning, chirping birds, the contrasting temperatures of the pools, the essential oils in the sauna, the experience is meant to invoke relaxation and rejuvenation and I feel it absolutely did both! The ritual I attended was completed with such grace and joy and was incredibly unique. A spot you can enjoy with others, but where you could absolutely go on your own. I will be back!
First time there yesterday. My favorite part was the sauna with the essential oils and towel movement. It felt like heaven. Everyone was nice friendly. I slept like the dead last night. It was amazing. For sure going back!!! My only wish is that they had larger robes for us plus size gals. Denise Swan
A wonderful way to spend the day being pampered and relaxing.Check in was smooth and staff were informative. All facilities were very clean and very well organized.Lunch menu is limited but what we tried was very good.It is nice to be able to get a glass of wine and take it to the hammocks to relax .Cant wait to experience this spot in the winter !
The spa is so beautiful and is great place to relax and treat yourself!
Truly peaceful and magical place, I cannot wait to come back to visit again! Loved it.
It was a unique experience!! We had a great day. Would like to try a massage next visit, will definitely recommend to friends
It was nice but for someone new to the experience, there wasn't a lot of guidance getting to know the space or enough signage to indicate where to go and what to do when you got there. I did not notice anyone wiping down high touch surfaces, disinfecting areas, ensuring number limits and make were worn where expected or distancing was maintained.
Another great visit! Love the new pools!
Amazing experience! I went for the day, the staff are very welcoming, facilities so clean and beautiful! I’d like to see a bit more on their menu, charcuterie board would be a great addition. Can’t wait to go back:)
Love Sensea! Such a relaxing, rejuvenating and unique experience for the area. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend!
An amazing spot and excellent experience! First class facilities and staff that are second to none! Highly recommend! Will be back for sure!
My wife and I visited Sensea for our wedding anniversary, and we both can not stop talking about the experience. 5/5 highly recommend to anyone. From start to finish the hospitality and was warm and welcoming. I'm typically not a "spa" person, but this place was incredible and reminded me of the joys of traveling Iceland. Will be back again ASAP.
A beautiful retreat by the lake.
I will admit - when my sister in law suggested we go to Sensea I was skeptical. But I was so pleasantly surprised. Spending the afternoon there was pure bliss and total relaxation. The property is simply lovely - with every little detail just perfect. The change room has a large number of lockers, adequate changing areas, a lotion bar (!!) and more. Be sure to rent the thick, luxurious robes - they’re worth it. Experience the exhilaration of heat from the saunas followed by the cold water bucket. Outdoors, enjoy sitting by the fireplace, curl up in the heated hammocks, or enjoy the hot and cold pools. I left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed and will definitely be back!!
Sensea is located in a beautiful outdoor setting among the trees and by a lake. It is clean and well run. There are lovely change rooms with showers, towels, shampoo and shower soap, hairdryers and even plastic bags for your wet bathing suit. The Scandinavian sauna is amazing along with the hot and cold plunge pools, and the Hammam sauna which was my favourite. Yoga on individual platforms by the lake was awesome and so relaxing. There are hammocks and Adirondack chairs overlooking the lake and a bar for refreshments. Although we didn’t have a massage (additional cost) I image it would be wonderful. People were generally thoughtful regarding social distancing. I recommend a day pass allowing at least 3 hours to enjoy everything. What a wonderful experience!
Let me start by saying this place is definitely beautiful. It is serene and scenic and definitely picture-worthy. I was visiting on Saturday afternoon however and was so incredibly disappointed right out of the gate. I visited a very similar place in Toronto and upon check-in we got a full run down of rules, process, recommendations, where to start, where to go, what a good order to go in the pools/saunas/steam rooms would be, etc. When I checked in at Sensea, I paid for my day pass and it was on to the next person. The woman checking us in was not friendly, did not give one rule, one recommendation, no "low-down" on the process or what to expect, where to go - NOTHING. I had to stay and interrupt her on her next customer just to ask her where I could even change into my bathing suit (I feel as though this should be information that is given, not have to search for it). About an hour and a half into the visit another worker had to come and inform my group that there was a whisper policy - we had no idea. She was short with us and fairly rude, but had we been told ANYTHING upon check-in (such as the important whisper policy) we would have gladly abided by this rule for the duration of the visit right from the start. Alas, we did not know and then WE look bad and as though we aren't following the rules. Sensea has potential, but a hard look at their check-in process and understanding they are in the service industry and people are paying good money to be there would benefit them. EDIT (based on owners response): "Despite all efforts that our team provided to constantly remind you of our policies" - this is just flat out not true. I had one person approach me to inform us of the whisper policy as I mentioned in my review above, which was the first and last that I had heard of it. There were no other "constant reminders". If there were "constant reminders" then I probably would have apologized. As I also mentioned above the service from the GET GO was unacceptable, prior to any other interactions. In the owners response they did not even mention the check-in process and lack of information which was my main complaint - you have moved the goal posts by ignoring what the complaint was about and commenting on other items which had nothing to do with the complaint, trying to take away from it and again paint your patrons as the guilty ones. Also taking such extreme steps as to suggest someone is banned, and what a professional way to inform someone they are "banned" - over a Google review. Goes to show the type of service you can expect.
Spent 360 dollars on gift cards this Christmas for the ladies of my family. turns out there no way to contact the spa during office hours via phone. it is impossible to book.. the spa closes in June.. Total waste of money.. disappointed.. CAN'T BOOK. scammed out of the money... no refunds, no spa packages.
It was so amazing.it was a Christmas present from my son and dauhghter in law. She booked the app. and to our surprise it snowed but yet was a beautiful night with moon and stars and all the sparkling white lights around us.All the workers were amazing , I had Jacqueline and Sarah and they were so kind, and sweet and made you feel at home.I will be back for sure.I also got to meet the owners, such wonderful folks.
Can not get through on the phone, very frustrating. I left a message but did not get a call back.
Such an amazing experience for our bachelorette group. It was relaxing, invigorating and beautiful. We loved the hot and cold baths and especially the Scandinavian Sauna ritual. The scenery and view added to a wonderful evening! My second visit was even better than the first! I love the expansions done in 2021. The new hot, cold and temprate pools are so refreshing and the new location is so lovely. The deep cold pool outside the sauna is so much fun, get super hot in the sauna and then jump in!! Beautiful new hammocks and chairs in different places on the picturesque property as well. I cannot wait for my next visit!!
Top notch experience, good excuse to visit chester
I feel so relaxed after my visit here. It was very great for the mind, body and soul. Everyone should give it a try because you won’t know what your missing. I highly recommend
Everything you expect from a Nordic Spa, very friendly staff and an extremely relaxing way to spend a day.
Totally relaxing amazing place. Rejuvenating to say the least! Can’t wait to go back. Clean refreshing and with a great friendly staff!!
lovely spot getting better all the time as they expand their facility. Another hot pool coming i hope!
Sensea Nordic Spa Is a hidden gem for sure. This place is a slice of Heaven right here in Nova Scotia. With the cold plunges and hot pools it’s an experience that I’m so glad we did. From the beautiful plush robes to the salt scrubs you won’t be disappointed. The entrance price is reasonable and since you are allowed to stay as long as you like once you are in its well worth the trip. The property is breathtaking and the views will never get old. Our server was such a delight. He was called Mohamed. He was kind and polite, and the way he was able to mirror our humour kept us ordering with big smiles on our faces! A five star for sure and we will definitely be making a plan to return.
My friend and I visited Sensëa a couple weeks ago. Beautiful location. Very relaxing day. We enjoyed massages and a day in the pools. It blew my expectations out of the water. We will 100% be back very very soon.
It's an absolute treat to get to spend time here. With covid rules, they are at a 30% capacity, and it's fantastic to fully enjoy the space without being crowded. I hope when we are past covid, they will only go to 50 to 60% capacity. They are adding new pools, so there is construction happening. The crew is doing their best to minimize the noise and respect the peaceful zen of the space. With the reduce capacity, it is very difficult to reserve time. I have myself on a wait-list but it's for that time vrs, flexibility for the day. Otherwise you have to check the site often for cancellations. I think the experience is worth the wait and hassle of trying to get a spot. I look forward to going back in the near future!
Beautiful location. Very relaxed atmosphere. I found it quite busy for being reduced capacity related to Covid. No Covid screening questions were asked. I did see frequent cleaning of high touch surfaces.
Wonderful full day experience in a beautiful, clean and friendly facility :)
I had the most amazing and relaxing experience! I will definitely be back. There is nothing that compares to senses!
Dreamy. Love the robes with the pockets. Our experience in the orange steam room was therapeutic :) It’s not as extravagant as the spa in Chelsea, Quebec but still has the same concept! The only thing that would have elevated our experience would have been a slightly more refined food menu. It’s a bit simple and feels more like ski lodge food. My partner and I love a good charcuterie or cheese board at the spa! Thank you for such a lovely time.
Once again an amazing morning at the spa. I strongly recommend the German ceremony in the Scandinavian sauna!!
An amazing, relaxing day away from the city. Whether you're visiting Nova Scotia or you just need a relaxing day of spa, massage and peace away from the city, this is the spot.
Such a relaxing experience! Love the outdoor views of the water. Perfect way to spend a chilly day! Loved that you can stay as long as you'd like and did not feel rushed. Will definitely be back!
One of my favorite places to visit in Nova Scotia. I have been here 3 times now and love it more each time. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the services offered are so relaxing and calming. I can't say enough good things about it. I will be back again and again!!
The experience as a whole with the hot pools and cold rinses, saunas and even a great lunch. Great place.
This is a health oasis for your mind, body, soul/spirit I have been going to Sensea regularly since they first opened and I am inspired by this place for many reasons. The owners have worked so hard to build, improve and expand this sanctuary through some very challenging years. Go and experience this piece of paradise. Unplug and go into the hot, the cold, the rest/relation and repeat. Your mind, body and soul will thank you. Colin
This was the most blissful experience I’ve ever had. From the moment you enter the property your are hit with calming and high vibrational energy. I wish I could live there, no jokes!!! It was a day filled with restorative and healing treatments. I could not stop beaming for days!!!! It has been the most beautiful experience I’ve ever had????????❤️ Namaste To all Sensëa employees
Had an excellent mother/daughters day with my girls. We had a great time. The spa was clean and staff friendly & welcoming. We will be going back for sure
Spent a perfect day here - clean, uncrowded and a delight to the senses
Had a wonderful experience at the Nordic spa! Very nice change rooms,,clean and professional business who looked after our every need:)
This place was 5 star plus, we left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated
Beautiful spa with all amenities, will definitely return and highly recommend.
We were so relaxed after our spa day. The variety of saunas followed by the cold rinse is amazing, the salt scrubs make your skin feel so soft and the pools overlooking the lake a beautiful surrounding. The sauna with the rosemary water fanned by a staff member was amazing ! The staff are very professional and knowledgeable. We were lucky to arrive during lunchtime relaxing by the fire with a bowl of homemade soup. We have booked again!
I took my daughter and her best friend for grading, and my best friend. We had an amazing experience. Something none of us have ever done, and it’s so relaxing and calming. The place is so clean, and they’ve thought of everything. I’m not great in saunas but the ritual was an amazing experience, I would definitely do that again. We hope to find an appointment earlier in the day next time so we can enjoy it longer, maybe a nap in a hammock! We are so lucky to have this place in our back yard!
Great day trip to Chester spent at the spa. Beautiful spot to relax and unwind.
What a beautiful place to relax and enjoy. Loved everything the pools the saunas. I think everyone should have a chance to experience this place very reasonably priced can't wait to go again ????
