You can tell that the employees love their job because it reflects in the atmosphere, the way staff treat each other and the customer. Bailey was amazing because she really listened to what I wanted with my hair . In addition she was very talented in doing my hair and I am very happy with the results and definitely will be back. Overall as well I found the products used to color my hair were less irritating than other places/ experiences (the toner specifically as I have had issues with a lot of burning and itchiness for time after color is done). As well the space is very beautiful and it is just so wonderful to see a building with history in downtown Dartmouth being honored. Sometimes staff in a place high end like the Interlude can seem aloof but I did not find this at all with my experience. I found the staff just all very friendly and I felt comfortable. Thank you Interlude.

This was the best experience I have ever had in a hair salon. Liz listened to my hair goals and was honest and straight forward about what we could accomplish. She was entertaining throughout the process and at the end of the appointment I had the best hair I have ever had. My husband was floored with what she did. I feel like a new person. I was so sad to hear she would be moving to another area of the Spa but am thrilled to hear she is crushing her goals.

I got a lovely massage there about a month ago! The building is very deceiving from the outside. It looks quite small, but once you’re inside there are tons of rooms and floors and it’s all a little magical! Very friendly customer service, pricing was good, and massage was spectacular! I will definitely be back :-)

The perfect place for a pick me up, The Interlude offers hair salon, esthetics, body and facial treatments, massage, and exercise classes. On my last visit I had a shampoo and style from Baillie, and a makeup application in preparation for my engagement photo shoot. I have to say I left feeling like a million dollars. I have never had a bad experience or service here. One of my professionals said that it’s honestly an amazing place to work because everyone is kind to each other and love their jobs, and it shows! It’s welcoming, and comfortable inside with qualified, talented service staff. What more could you want from a salon? Best part? You can enjoy a glass of wine while you getting your hair/pedi/you name it, done! Highly recommend.

I have been going to Interlude (Dartmouth location) for years, and love the location and services I receive there! Danielle is the absolute best for aesthetic services, and I have recently started seeing Emma for massage therapy: both are total professionals and just really lovely people. I feel like the staff at their reception area may have changed over recently, as the last few times I've been, the young women working at the desk don't seem to have answers to my questions, or may have missed basic steps, like asking if I would like to book in again for my next treatment, etc... Still, this spa is a true gem in downtown Dartmouth: it's in such a unique space, and I always feel so relaxed after visiting.

I’ve had two great visits to the Interlude in Dartmouth, so wanted to leave a review. First visit: Had a great cut and colour by Kristina! I had no pictures, just a very general idea of what I wanted. After chatting, she was able to deliver exactly what I wanted in spite of me being no help in explaining ???? For reference, I had a blonde balayage and cut (about 6 inches). Would highly recommend her for balayage and babylights! Second visit: another great cut and colour, this time by Rachel! I had partial foils to touch up balayage, followed by a trim and layers. This time, I at least had a photo for the cut ????‍♀️ Rachel Made some suggestions regarding colour and cut, and both came out really well. My hair feels, brighter, fresher, and lighter! She was also really lovely and helped me feel fresh for spring ????

Got an appointment for a Brazilian wax which she then proceeded to ask if I wanted all the hair gone (I thought that was the whole point of a Brazilian wax). the wax was not dried properly which led to very painful tugging of my skin, after she was done I noticed that it was not done properly, I proceed to ask to fix the problem, i get home and check and needless to say this woman did a terrible job and needs to be retrained for what she is getting paid for. I am very disappointed and will never waste my money going to this place again especially if you are a woman of color with coarse hair. unbelievable.

Very nice spa, the receptionist are very professional but I don’t think my hair dresser was well trained. I got highlights which she did one side at the time and resulted in one side being lighter she cut my hair when it was dry and not straighten didn’t double check the amount to cut off and when she did finish asked if cut length was good, little late. I went back to fix highlights but I just got washed a few times nothing was resolved, not mad it’s just hair but I don’t recommend the place.

Beautiful spa in Dartmouth however parking is very limited. My shellac manicure also chipped within 24 hours which was disappointing for the price paid. Would not go back for nails but would try other services such as a massage. Great atmosphere inside and friendly service.

If I could give this business no stars I would. It all started 2 years ago when I (who lives in Toronto) bought my mother (who lives in NS) a spa massage online from Interlude spa. I called them immediately after purchasing online to give them my mothers information and let them know she would be coming in. The receptionist on the phone told me that the massage would stay on file until it was used and never expired. Fast forward to 2 years later when my mother, who was ill the last 2 years, wants to use the massage I've purchased for her. Now, somehow, she's not in their system despite their promise that " she can come in and it doesn't expire." I call visa to get proof that I spent 106$ online at Interlude Spa and along with that information as well as a check in their system to see if anyone under my mothers name had utilized any appointments in the last 2 years (which showed she hadn't). The manager tells me that there is nothing they can do because the massage I bought was given in the form of a plastic gift card. I never received a gift card, my mother never received a gift card....to reiterate again, I was told by the receptionist with my initial purchase that all my mother had to do was come in as they had payment information in their system. It's a shame that a business can not own up to their mistakes and takes advantage of clients who could have been returning clients. They route the decided to take by scanning myself out of my money is not a lose for my 106$ but a lose for their reputation. Good luck with that outlook... in the meantime I'm taking my business elsewhere.

My wife and I visited for a couples massage with Jen and Leah. The atmosphere and staff were excellent - very helpful and kind. Jen and Leah were excellent and the treatments went well. I was able to view everything online and then communicate with the office manager (Juliana) to book. She was also very professional and courteous!! Goes a long way these days. Thanks Interlude Spa!

I told a hairdresser several times that I wanted a medium brown color, but the color came out almost black. I asked to fix this and lighten my hair. And a Manager assured me that they would lighten my hair in a natural way and this would not damage my hair. Eventually, they just bleached my hair which damaged it a lot. I was very disappointed and I do not recommend this hair salon to anyone.

the stylist i went to at this location chemically burned my scalp and fried my hair, then tried to play it off like it wasn't that bad and gave me a "free treatment" for my hair and i was still expected to pay full price for the services. i honestly won't return because of this experience. i have videos of the damages. seriously disappointed
