This is my sister story: I have been suffering from unknown cause of allergy for the last 6 months, has been taking medication, but without any improvement, sometimes I have to take a double dose of the medication just to subside the rashes. My Family doctor has referred me to an allergy specialist and till now I am waiting for my turn, which so frustrating! The other day a friend of mine, suggested that I go to Aculocus Clinic and talk to Dr. Ziad about it. Well, we've started the acupuncture treatment straight away. Although it has been a couple of sessions so far, I am not on medication and I am seeing great difference. I cannot wait to complete my session and get rid of the allergy and start eating normally. Not only that, the day I was scheduled for an acupuncture session with him, the kitchen door slammed into my foot, it was so painful and my foot got swollen, I was hardly walking. Dr. Ziad suggested to use acupuncture on it, and amazingly the swollen subside 85% of the spot. The next day was completely gone. His background as an internist, combined with his skills in acupuncture, make for a highly holistic approach to health and wellness. I began seeing him towards the end of June. I personally can't thank Doctor Ahmd enough for the help he provides!! I was going to Cyro, physio, massage, it would help the pain but not take it away. After the first visit I could tell this was it!!! He got me to come three days in a row because of how spastic he said my muscles were. A terrible first (and only!) experience. I booked online and received a confirmation email. When I arrived there at 9am nobody was there to greet me, and 10 minutes after my acupuncture was supposed to start, nobody had dealt with me. So I went looking in the clinic and someone got hold of Dr Ahmed on the phone. He didn't know about the appointment because "the online system isn't working". He never asked for the phone to be passed to me, so I didn't get an apology, neither did he ask his colleague to take my details so that he could call me later. I had driven 30 minutes to get there (because the reviews were so good) so in total I lost 90 minutes of my working day. Honestly Dr Ahmed, if your online booking system isn't working, TURN IT OFF SO THAT IT'S NOT ON THE WEBSITE!! People like me cannot waste 1.5 hours and $5 in gas just because you can't fix your technology. And by the way, the next time you do that to a customer, have the decency to ask for the phone to be passed to the customer so that you can apologize and make amends. I am sure you are excellent at acupuncture, but I have now found somewhere else in Dartmouth and I will be using them. No second chances after an experience like that.

I dealt with terrible neck and shoulder pain for close to a year. I tried everything from message therapy to pain killers and muscle relaxants, and nothing seemed to give me more than temporary relief. I went in to see Dr. Ziad. He spent the better part of the morning with me going through different methods until he felt that we fixed the issue. Thanks to his MD background, he was able to explain everything to me as he was working on it. After a 3 hour session, he recommended I take B12 and a week later I had 0 pain or discomfort! I had some skin tags in some very sensitive areas that I never felt comfortable going to a doctor to have them looked at. Dr Ahmad made me feel extremely comfortable. The removal process was painless, in fact I did not even realize that he administered the anesthesia! Once they were all removed i still did not feel any pain or discomfort. This year at the Home Show, I had the greatest luck. While I was wondering around the show, I came across the College of Acupuncture's area and on a whim, I asked them if they could do anything for a sinuses. The student brought over Dr. Ziad Ahmed, who teaches at the Collage and also has his own clinic, Aculocus Clinic. I was made comfortable, and he put in several needles, some for my sinuses, and a few others in the wrinkle area. After 20 minutes or so, the needles were removed and my sinuses were much better, I no longer felt like I had a bad head cold or allergies. A few days later, I noticed that the lines coming down from my nose to mouth were as noticeable as they had been and realized that they were some of the points that Dr. Ahmed had done. Cut ahead a couple of months, I had some surgery and was wondering what I could do to help the incisions to heal. I read up on a few things and goggled a few things, and notice acupuncture & Laser kept coming up as ways to treat scarring & incisions. I than remember how nice Dr. Ahmed had been and remembered that I had won a free session of acupuncture from his clinic. I made the appointment, and went in to see him, his office was very nice, the waiting room was pleasant, and when he took me into the office, he was very professional and explained to me what he could do to help me with the scar , sinuses, (spring time allergies) and I asked other questions about cosmetic acupuncture, because I am a woman of a certain age. He treated the scar with Laser, the sinus with acupuncture, and did a few extra cosmetic spots on top of the services. After 2 sessions, the redness has greatly reduced on the scar, my sinuses are working wonderfully, I am not stuffed up at all and the facial lines and wrinkles he worked on with acupuncture, have softened and dissipated a lot, a few even gone away. I will definitely go back for more sessions. I was impressed very impressed with Dr. Ahmed.

Note: My rating/review is based entirely on my dry needling sessions with Dr. Ahmed. I have had chronic back pain resulting from two car accidents I experienced roughly 16 years ago. I tried everything (physio, chiro, naturopath, osteopathy, medication, exercise, etc, etc) over those years, and nothing helped. I would maybe get a day or two of some minor pain reduction following an appointment, but that's it. I'm sure I spent upwards of 20k on treatment over the course of that time. After just one dry needling session, I was in as little amount of pain as i could ever remember being in since my accidents. It took a few more sessions to identify all of my pain points, but it was truly a mind blowing experience. For anyone experiencing back/neck pain, I would absolutely recommend having a consultation on it to find out if it's something that may help your condition.

Highly recommended! As per my chat with Dr. Ziad, I have found out that natural medicine and acupuncture can be used for weight loss. I have started a program with the Dr. two month ago, starting with a natural detox for a week and then following a diet as prescribed by Dr. Ziad. The results have been just out of this world ! I have lost 11 kg so far and have only 3 to go to reach my goal. Based on my blood type and other factors the Dr. puts together a diet that is tailored to fit all my needs, its really easy to follow it as the food is generally from what we make at home day to day! He checks on my progress almost daily and supports me in every way to keep going strong to get to my goal! I highly recommend trying it as i thought it was impossible to achieve such results in such a short period of time.

I work in IT and I sit down in front of my laptop all day long. Back pain has been lingering around for years for me. Until three weeks ago. One bad move and I felt some strong pain in my lower back. Next day, I could not move. One of the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I feel it when I breath. Coughing was not an option. A friend recommended Dr. Ziad. I called and explained my situation he took me in on the same day. I was barely able to walk in the clinic. After the first session of dry-needling I was able to sit and stand and move without obvious pain. But when I sit down for a while I can still feel it. Being active as a fitness/bodybuilding competitor, having tennis elbow REALLY grounded my training almost to a halt. After having weeks of unbearable pain and not being able to actively use that arm, I was told to go to my doctor and ask for pain killers and to avoid using that arm. When I went to see Dr. Z I didn't know what to expect as my arm has been sore for months the doctor told me I have tennis elbow and it would take six to eight months to heal as a hairstylist I can't really afford to be off. I came in and Dr. Z did dry needling it is like nothing that I have ever done before. After my appointment it was about 2 hours and I could move my arm and the pain was less, once I hit the 24 hour mark the pain had subsided more than 50% I could do things like hold my blowdryer without loss of grip. I had a pinched nerve in my neck from a. Camping trip and I couldn’t move my neck at all . I went to aculocus clinic and saw dr Ahmed . We did two sessions and first one helped me a little and I didn’t know if it would really work . I was maybe around 50% better and saw a little progress . dr Ahmed did tell me that it would take atleast two sessions but after my second session next day I was almost at 95% recovery . Dry needling is a great addition or alternative in some cases to massage or physio .

I have both knee arthritis for more than 15 years. I have been receiving different modalities of treatment like physiotherapy and osteopathy but with little outcomes. I met dr. Ziad last week for a consultation, he recommended PRP, i received the treatment the next day; Soon after treatment i felt warm feeling in my knees. I've had skin tags around my eyes for the past 10-15 years and just learned to live with them. I met Dr. Ahmed recently through a mutual friend. He mentioned that one of the numerous services he performs at his clinic is skin tag removal. I told him there are about 15 tags around my eyes and it may be too difficult of a procedure (to be honest, I was just too scared. lol). He convinced me to make an appointment. Would like to share my experience with Dr. Ziad Ahmed for treatment of painful muscle knots in my neck and shoulder that impaired and limited my movement.I had limited range of motion. Unable to move my head and neck freely in all directions, my daily functioning was severely impaired and I was in agonizing pain at rest. I have had chronic neck and upper back pain for over 11 years and have tried multiple different therapies. When my neck and back go into spasm I am unable to hold my own head up at times. This happened on a Monday evening recently and would usually last a few weeks. I made an appointment at Aculocus with Dr. Ahmed Tuesday morning to see if he could help. I was able to get in right away where not only did he explain what my conditions were and how they were connected, he explained why it kept happening and how we could not just correct the current spasm, but how we can improve my lifestyle going forward so I won't have to keep living in pain. He recommended dry needling and within one session I had movement of my neck, 2 sessions I could look up and down, right and left, and by the end of the third session I was better than my "normal" self. One session with Aaron Ivany for massage therapy and stretching provided me with the knowledge and hope that we can rebuild the strength in my muscles and teach them how to function the way they should. Monday i could barely move and by Thursday evening I was able to rotate my neck in the normal range, play with my children and get a pain free night's sleep. After my surgery this past year, I dealt with pain in the hamstring area that prevented me from playing sports without dealing with severe pain. I tried everything, whether it was physio, massages, or just taking time off, however nothing worked. It wasn't until I met with Dr. Ziad that was able to find the root of the issue and explain what's going on with my leg. Dr. Ziad recommended that I try Dry Needling. After three appointments, I no longer felt the sever pain and was able to play basketball again without having to worry about my knee. Dry Needling was quick and slightly hurt, but only because my muscles were very tense and tight. Definitely recommend giving Dry Needling a chance if your muscles are tight and stiff.
