Went there for waxing and I am looking forward to going back. Which is saying something given the nature of my visit. I have senstive skin and their wax didnt burn me like a lot of places. They took great care. Staff are very friendly, personable and inviting. I like that they have slippers for you to wear.

Meh. This was my first time ever at a 'spa', so perhaps the whole spa thing was over hyped in my head? I guess I was expecting more, especially with only positive reviews. Things I didn't like: -no massage chair for pedicure. They do it while you're lying down or in a regular chair. No fancy bubbles jets for your feet. For what you pay for, I was unimpressed. -selection of nail polish was small. Didn't like any of the colours. -Upon leaving I saw my cuticle must have bled. -Facial included no extractions. I felt like all I had were various creams on my face. No tingling, no exfoliating, steaming... I've never had a facial ever, so upon googling I expected more. Basically I feel like my face got a massage and left feeling pretty greasy. Would have liked their website to better explain what was included in the facial. -Massage. Meh. Not too different than what my husband does. I thought they would work out knots. Sure it felt nice, but I was expecting more from a RMT. Didn't really feel any better after it was over. Staff were very nice and attentive, but I guess I was just expecting too much. Would like better explanations of services on their website. Maybe because I'm pregnant they were afraid to do too much?

ive just booked an RMT. The girl who called me to confirm the appointment had the worst attitude. They dont do direct billing with my insurance company so i hesitated for a sec. she said most places wont do direct with my insurance since its a different system, so i said ok no worries i'll come tomorrow, she went no you dont have to come. very welcoming! great way to treat a new customer. i did my research and its very close to my place i was planning on using all my insurance benefits here. Too bad they have the worst customer service! no basic people skills!!

Just had the spa couple package 3 with the hubby. 1 hour deep tissue massage was delightful and worth the cost. 1 hour pedicure was interesting…I’ve never had a pedicure while laying down. Although it was quite relaxing I found that it wasn’t the best. Though my feet are soft, all of the dead skin was not removed. This is an aspect that I need in my pedicures. I would have preferred grazing or a more rough slough of the dead foot skin. Otherwise the nail polish application was flawless. I don’t think the cuticles were pushed back very far/cut. It’s hard to tell since I was laying down. The foot massage/reflexology was nice, nothing spectacular. All in all I would return for another deep tissue massage in the future. I will stick to my regular pedicure spot in the mean time.

The staff were really kind and quick the massage was GREAT! It was so good is relieved the congestion I had due to sinus issues. The staff was always asking if the pressure was good, if the temperature was okay. I enjoyed the experience. The reason for the 4 stars is because I wish I couldn’t hear every door close & foot step people were taking outside the massage room. I also didn’t like the fact that the room was not necessarily organized well. A lot of it was makeshift storage and so it contributed to a bit of the noise. Other than that? I WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK.

No matter which person picks up at reception they are pushy with the scheduling and do not listen well, often missing out on details that carefully mentioned; I often have to repeat multiple times. Last ice rainstorm the receptionist chastised me for canceling the same day of the storm. Although the massage staff themselves are very friendly, professional and attentive so I go back; plus it’s close to me. Hope they can hire and train their staff to provide better customer service or keep scheduling mainly online through their website one day!

Couples massage package was super relaxing as it was our first time trying it here. During the facial my RMT recommended a different facial for my skin type which I highly appreciated and said was of no additional cost. The massage in general was good but I wish that she got some spots I mentioned that needed more attention. The staff were overall nice and the facility was very clean. However after reading a couple of reviews it was mentioned some people got complimentary tea in the beginning, which was never offered to us but without knowing that part of service, we did overall enjoy the facility and the massage. May return back, who knows.

I've been there many times. The massage therapists specially Grace, gigi and Mr. Chi were very professional. I got mix of relaxing and hot stone massage. Price was reasonable. $95/1hr The area was clean and quiet, and it has free parking. Really great experience. Highly recommended.

The massage therapists were good. I was there with my wife, the receptionist was in so hurry that she snatches your credit card even before you tap it. Beware, don't touch the Lindt chocolates (not even one), she will stop you. "Those are her personal chocolates and they can't afford to give away"....just for display? After an hour of massage if you feel like having candy...resist the temptation and go home. Why to spoil the mood over a candy.. Change your Spa or grab few Lindt from Costco.

This was our second time there. The experience unfortunately was not the same as the first time. We had a hot stone couples massage. The masseuse just rubbed the hot stones all over and did not lay them on my spine like before. The ambiance is ok for a second floor of an industrial unit. It's great they do all the submitting of paper work for benefits claim.

I just want to say that I am very happy to find this place. I had an annoying right shoulder pain that was bothering me for almost one full year, and had been to several spas and clinics trying to treat the problem until my friend recommended me York Mills Wellness & spa. I figured “why not?”, so I gave it a try and I received a 60 minute massage from a Registered Massage Therapist (Jenny) . I was thrilled to find that her massage was both effective and enjoyable; the pain was fully relieved after only a few visits. I would definitely say that's the best massage I ever had . Besides that, the whole place is always clean, calming, and welcoming. They offer you tea ,coffee, delicious candy and chocolate so even waiting there is pleasant. Now, I am a regular client there and I will definitely recommend this to all my family and friends.

2019: The massage and facial is really nice! 2020: COVID update: they're still amazing. Have great COVID precautions --- check temperature at door, clean shoes/covers, rooms are clean etc. Only thing for extractions check your face or make sure all extractions are done as I had to do some myself when I got home. Overall still a highly recommended place :)

We had a very enjoyable time, my wife and I. She's 8 months pregnant. So that's extra fun. The staff did well to cater to her, although her miseuese was late. The atmosphere wasn't as peaceful and calming as most other spas we've been to. But we had a private room, and our miseueses both did a fantastic job on the massage itself. Mine sneezed and blew her nose without washing her hands. Some may think that's unacceptable. I heard her take 4-5 tissues to do it though. So I really wasn't worried about her hands not being clean. Over her wasting my time waiting on her. That's just me. We would go back again, and we'd recommend the place.

Absolutely best massage place I've been to. Better than my physio clinic, better than the overpriced luxe massages I had to travel downtown for. This is my go-to for muscle pain AND they include hot stone massage for 85 a person before tax. Only downside is the receptionist can be a little rude. The first time I went with my partner for a couples' massage, I paid for it all out of pocket as a gift. We were 90% sure we didn't have the insurance to cover it and were speculating out loud about it. As my partner was thanking me for paying, the receptionist kept interrupting to say 'but insurance will cover it.' It didn't in the end, but thanks for undercutting my gift to my partner. We were both really put off. As a regular, I find this attitude is a frequent issue with her but not enough to deter me, just annoying.

I went for a microdermabraison session with Vivianne last Thursday and everything was exceptional. Would recommend and will be going religiously. Definitely one of the hidden gems in this city. The spa is spotless and going have asked for a better facial. My skin is glowing and lines and sun freckles have lessened.

Best massage place I've been to...me and my wife been goin here since past few months. The RMT massage are always a treat. I usually get Lin and she is super good with her massage skills. Theres definitely an issue in the closest room to the reception. You can hear everythin they're talking but not a big deal for me. The receptionist is also very nice and attentive. I'd highly recommend this place.

I came here upon recommendation from a friend who had said she had a great experience here. I was also looking for a great spa to try out which also accepted the WAYSPA Gift Certificates. I booked an Aromatherapy massage for a Sunday ( lucky for me they still had spots open 3 days before when I called ). I didn't necessarily need a massage with an RMT, so they booked me with Lisa, who was lovely! She did a great job working on the areas I asked for and she checked in with me a few times if the pressure was good, which I appreciated. Overall, I had a great experience, and I would definitely return. This place is located in an industrial area, so it's a little hard to find. As soon as you enter, there is a flight of stairs that take you up to the spa.

I’m giving a low rating due to the fact that that spa was not accommodating whatsoever. I am in my early weeks of pregnancy and called to inquire about their massage and facial packages. I was told that because I am pregnant, they will not work on me. I assured them that I cleared this with my family doctor and was given the ok as long as the RMT working on me is cautious of certain pressure points. They still declined me. I contacted three other spas and they all say they did not understand why I would be turned away for something like that. Definitely a bad first impression for a first time - potential customer.

Ive been to York Mills spa & wellness Centre previously and had a wonderful experience. However this recent experience was not good at all. My masseuse appeared to be sick sniffling throughout the massage and at one point even sneezed. As I was paying I heard the employee at the front desk say to the other receptionist that someone (likely my masseuse) was not feeling well and that they needed to cancel the rest of her appointments that day. As I was getting ready to leave and change into my own shoes one of the employees started to spray the spa slippers with disinfectant as i was sitting there, which I had to inhale and in general was just rude to do as I was sitting there. On top of everything the actual massage was not very good. This is unfortunate because I had previously had a good experience. I am writing this review hoping that they’ll consider the safety of there employees and customers. I got a massage to relax and the whole experience gave me anxiety.

My husband and I frequent this place for massages. They always go above and beyond sometimes using hot stones for us as a nice surprise. We love their RMTS as they are always professional and funny and we've never had a bad massage. They consistently ask us if the pressure is okay and let us know when to breathe to help work out those nasty painful kinks. They are strong if you like a lot of pressure go here they can handle it. These women know what they are doing. The place is always clean and organized. There is hot tea ready made and lemon water which could be slightly colder if you ask me. They put true effort into their massages leaving me relaxed and feeling great and reinvigorated each time. Since I started going here I haven't been anywhere else. I haven't used any other services. They take insurance and have RMTS on site. Try it you won't be disappointed. Pricing is also reasonable which I love :)

They know just how to tailor the treatment for your skin type. I finished 6 sessions and have seen a big improvement in my skin. Definitely a great place!

My lovely step mother offered my husband and I a nice time at the spa to relax during holidays. I was fantastic and I already booked for Christmas. I'm French, Parisian and used to go to spa once a month. I can tell that I can be picky when we talk about beauty treatment, especially facial. York Mills Wellness & Spa is very well décor, first we go up a nice brick staircase, then we enter in a dark wood environment this spa is truly a little piece of calm and tranquillity. The spa reception area has a serene feel and you are welcome with a peaceful music. The setting make you feel as if you are fare away from the busy streets of Toronto The treatment rooms are tastefully and simply decorated -- clean and airy with a good sense of space. It contains slippers and a fluffy robe. I tried the hot stone massage and the facial. The treatment is 2h30/3 hours. I worried that it might be too long but it passed in a flash. Bang on time, my friendly therapist jenny took me to the treatment room. She took detailed notes and explained what to expect. The treatment begins with a pressure-point full body massage. This massage is designed to be simply relaxing and to iron out aches and pains and it really did do the job. It is te best massage I ever had. My breathing relaxed and I began to feel myself loosen up and un-grit my teeth. I just let my body sink into the treatment. My therapist then used hot stones with warm oil to massage my body, this time including my scalp. (You can let your therapist know if you don't want this done if you don't like oil in your hair). This part of the treatment is designed to alleviate stress and be deeply relaxing – and it was. I started to dream, so I must have dropped off! Then I had a facial, The treatment was very delicate. I was afraid to get out with a red face with the scrub but it was not the case. She took the time to choose the right products for my skin. After my treatment, my skin looked very good! I also liked The background music for part of our treatment was very conducive to relaxation. The Spa is competitively priced and offers some very good deal package.Perfect for time out to recharge and refresh, alone or with a friend, husband.( they have double cabin) Aude Planterose

I came here last year for a couples massage and facial. The spa seemed very clean and had a relaxing environment. Our facials and massages were done in the same room, side by side, so we didn't have to get up to change rooms after the massage, which was nice! The only thing I didn't like was that the women working on us kept leaving the room and coming back in randomly without telling us, which was a little strange. Also at times, there was noise and talking in the hallways, but thats not a big deal. We did enjoy our time here though, and was fun trying a new spa. Would recommend (:

Horrible service. Arrived for a relaxation massage, left in extreme pain. I'm genuinely worried about my back now and will definitely not be returning here ever again. I've never really had a "bad massage" until now. On top of that, it was very unprofessional. The masseuse started late was still setting up speakers and music well my massage should have started. There was whispering in another language between her and the masseuse massaging my partner which neither of us appreciated.

I went for a RMT hot stone massage but when they found out I wanted to pay with a gift card I was told I was not allowed to have an RMT. I could still have a massage but it wouldn't be a registered massage therapist. I agreed thinking that she would've had to pass some kind of training proving she was capable of giving a massage. Wrong. Despite the multiple times I asked for less pressure, it didn't change and I have bruises all over my body now. Not to mention she was also late to work therefore late for my massage. Doesn't seem fair that just because I want to pay with a gift card I can't have access to the same services. Won't be coming here again.

Unprofessional, Ill-Managed Facility - 1st time they forgot about me on the massage table and had me waiting for rmt for 50 minutes before I grew tired of waiting half naked on a table after first waiting a half hour in the receotion area and got dressed and left, they gave me a free massage to make up for this with Jenny who did a great job so I booked another with her the following week. Got there and had to wait 20 extra minutes as she was running behind before being taken into a room and instead of Jenny the receptionist did my massage and did a terrible job. I asked if she was an RMT and she said she is but did not do a good job at all... Was very hurried, kept leaving the room randomly, dropped things multiple times during the massage and left the door open during my massage multiple times even when I heard male voices walking by outside and dropped my arms and rocks multiple times throughout the massage - very unprofessional. Would recommend Jenny as an RMT but not this lady who jumped in to do my massage because she was running behind.

Can't say it was a wonderful experience. Had an RMT massage (although good it was harder than I prefer and left me in a lot of pain). The pedicure is done on the same table as the massage, so you're lying down and fully unclothed from the massage. When she started applying nail polish I reminded her that I needed to put my clothes on first otherwise my polish would get ruined. So she stopped mid way (and didn't finish the bottom coat on one foot) and I had to get dressed and got back on the same oily massage table with my clothes. So very not cool. I asked her to cut my nails short, but because you can't see anything (because you're lying down), you have no idea if it's the right length. It wasn't short enough for me. Also the nail polish application did not look like it was done by a professional. I honestly could have done a better job. Needless to say the whole situation was very awkward and I won't go back.

It was upstairs in an office building, it wasn't a great experience trying to find . Parking was difficult to figure out aswell, and very limited . Overall the staff were friendly but I thought the overall cleanliness was poor. Dust build up , marks on furniture and dirty towels left around . I feel for the price I should have to put my feet into a large steel bowl with a bag in it. I understand hygienic practice but there has to be something more "luxurious" you could be utilizing. The towel she put on my feet has a must smell. I also had to wait after my nails were done for them to air dry , which I think is a poor practice. Over all I enjoyed my nail tech, but I wouldn't return sue to the up keep of the nail area.

I have been attending this spa for around 1 year, and I love this place! I find the decor and atmosphere extremely pleasant. I visit for their RMT massages. The vibe/mood in the spa even before you enter the doors is very calming. You get slippers as you enter, which is a nice touch. Water is available for you as well. The rooms are nicely furnished with quality decor which isn't seen is other massage clinics that I have been to. They even include a bathrobe, and heating pads. Relaxing music pervades through all the rooms, which I never get tired of. Booking appoints is a good experience and the staff are very friendly and a pleasure to interact with! The experience of each massage will vary between therapists and also varies with the same therapist on repeated visits. Their full body massage is usually consists of the same head/arm massage at the end. At least that is what I found. It used to be that the music volume was adjustable per room, but I think that had changed that, so sometimes I can hear chatter through the walls, which lately has been affecting my relaxation experience. It seems like they are doing well and I see more employees around, which is great because I think the overall experience is very good. Just wanted to mention to keep up the great work and quality among the employees for the user experience. It's always a pleasure to chat with the employees there and they are kind and considerate. I visited this place today with my boyfriend for an RMT massage. Me and my boyfriend both had back pain due to computer based job and had sore muscles. Both the male and female masseuse were amazing. We both came back happy and relaxed and the experience was amazing. Receptionist was friendly too. My masseuse was Gigi and she was good at what she was doing. Will visit again.

Went to this place with 2 of my family members thinking that we'll have a wonderful massage, sadly its the other way around. At first i am ok with Mia since she is good. But in the middle of the massage, somebody came inside the room and mia said that the other lady will finish my massage..I am shock coz. I never imagine that 2 therapists will do the massage for me.I did not say anything, but deep within me, I am so upset..Then, when i saw my sister and my niece after the massage they were so disappointed too because while they were having a massage, the 2 therapists kept on whispering with each other all through out the treatment..as a paying client, we expect a quiet, relaxing and a peaceful environment inside the place, but what we experienced was the exact opposite of what we expect..I am a therapist myself, and I know how to treat clients properly. I just hope this will never happen to other paying client because this is absolutely unprofessional..

3.5 stars A friend recommended this place. I got a package while I was on vacation to treat myself. Included massage, facial, reflexology OR spa pedicure. Appointment was pushed back 1/2 hour which I agreed to ahead of time but when I got there, it took another 15 minutes to start massage. Massage: my first time doing hot stone massage. It was ok. My shoulders still felt a bit tense after I left. Although might be fault for not specifically saying shoulders when discussing with massuese area to focus on. I just said upper back . Facial: great relaxing experience. Spa pedicure: meh. It was done while lying down on massage table. New experience for me. Person was very nice but I could have done it on my own. My heels were still rough when done and no foot massage. I would not recommend pedicure here. Wish I had choosen reflexology instead. Likely would have left feeling more satisfied. I may return for facial.

My wife and I have been going here for over a year. The staff is exceptionally friendly and I love how they always offer a beverage while we are waiting. I love how clean the place is especially because my wife is really picky about cleanliness. The massages are amazing they always ask which areas to focus on and during the massage they always check in to make sure it's the way you want it. Love the soothing music and the atmospher of the rooms. My wife loves their facials because how careful and gentle they are. We would definitely recommend it to everyone. They always make sure we leave happy and satisfied!

Went for first visit was skeptical about a pedicure laying down but was pleasantly surprised it was very relaxing. Had 45 min RMT massage and it was fantastic the person knew exactly where I needed the most work and i felt amazing afterwards. Will go again for sure!

After an initial reservation snafu, they really delivered stellar service. They were very apologetic about the misunderstanding making it a 5 star experience. The RMT was really attentive and intuitive, checking in regularly about pressure and the facials were absolutely on point with the extractions. Both my partner and I enjoyed the service and look forward to returning.

I am a regular customer of York Mills Wellness and Spa and would highly recommend it! The location is conveniently close to the highway 401/Leslie ramp and is a short distance from Fairview Mall. The RMT is always amiable, considerate and timely. The sessions are never cut short (ie. other locations often charge an hour but offer only 50 min of work), and are always relaxing! Each session begins after your arrival with the RMT offering you a beverage or a treat, followed by her letting you know which room is available. The rooms always smell nice, are warm, and have a clean, comfortable massage table with attached arm rest and head rest. When you are set and the RMT comes in, they always ask which areas you would like to focus on and pressure is always adjusted to your preference (constantly checking if you prefer it harder/lighter). I am usually there for 60 minutes but it always goes by quickly. At the end of each session, she decompresses your limb joints and stretches your muscles in various assisted exercise poses, and offers a wonderful head massage. Free parking is also provided at the building and a large blue sign helps guide you to the entrance. The actual spa is located on the second floor of the building after entering. They also cater to couples and offer promotional prices for initial visits and consultations! If you are teetering on the fence about visiting, I highly suggest you go for at least an initial visit.

My partner and I went for a couples spa package a few weeks ago. We both came home with rashes on our faces from the facial and feeling very disappointed with the whole experience. The massage was underwhelming; it did nothing for me. They left the room for 15+ minutes at some point with heating pads on our feet that were supposed to be relaxing, but were just burning my feet. I used to be a regular customer, but I will probably never return.

I would have rated this place a 4 probably but because of the way they communicated things, I'm giving it a 3. First of all, I used my insurance to get my spa done. For those saying, oh y complain when insurance is free note that my employer deducts a portion of my salary for insurance. When my husband & I arrived at the location, we were asked to fill the form which we did. Our appointment was booked for 4.30 but the session started at 4.50 which is fine. Before our session started the receptionist was trying to submit my claim & she said that the system is down so she'll keep trying & if the claim does not get submitted by any chance, she asked me if I can pay upfront and later claim, to which I said okay. But within seconds the system worked and she said never mind everything is good. After my service was done, I waited for a couple of mins in the reception area but since no one was there and it was already 6.30, I left. After about 20 mins later the reception lady gave me a call saying my insurance can claim only 80% and I have to pay 20% upfront. While I didnt have an issue paying & I said okay charge my card, I would have appreciated this information to be communicated to me in advance and not after the service was done. I won't visit the location again because of lack of transparency in their communication!

I can't praise this spa enough - the massage treatment is out of this world. If I could go every day, I would! I consider myself a tough critic, and have experienced many different massage therapies from professionals around the world (Swedish deep tissue, hot stone, shiatsu, Thai and non-RMT relaxation) and I can truthfully say that Jenny at YM Wellness is one of the best. An hour of pure paradise - that is, when I don't extend to 90 mins because I don't want it to end! I often rely on social media reviews and customer ratings and this is one that you can trust. I've also had facials and scrubs, both fantastic.

Haven't been to a spa since covid and was a bit nervous about it. But I've been to this spa a few times and always loved the service. They are very nice , very professional and the spa was clean. They followed all protocols and the service was amazing. I went to treat myself for my birthday with my sister. We got a 60 mins massage and facial. Massage was great and my skin was so soft after the facial. I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I will definitely be going back .

Despite having a misunderstanding at first due to lack of communication and information from an employee, Jenny the manager did all her best to solve the issue and ensure that I was satisfied in the end. The message was very good and relaxing. I wish the aesthetician was as nice as the message therapist but she also did a good job for the facial treatment. Overall, in addition to the great quality of treatments, I am amazed by the customer service especially on the part of Jenny who went an extra mile for my satisfaction.

I did not have a good experience here. My shellac had taken over an hour and a half during my first visit to complete. During my shellac removal (which I told was free if I came back to get it removed at this spa) was completed in the waiting room. I was changed 10$ for the removal. The removal process took one hour (no clear polish, just removal). The staff is pleasant, but I will not be back to this spa.

Heaven on earth! I took my best friend here for her 26th birthday for a package including a hot stone massage, facial hot oil treatments and a body scrub. This was my first trip to a spa and her third, being said I had an amazing time I would live there if I could. My friend, who is a very well known professional hair dresser was amazed. She has been to extremely expensive spas previously and had horrible experience. We both felt the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, everything beyond clean. You get treatments in a private room and don't have too `room surf` in a robe ruining your relaxation. The ladies are very knowledgeable about the body and massage and even ask you if you have a preferred area you would like them to focus on. Im still amazed at how professional and relaxing they are. I felt like I was ripping them off when I left. its defiantly a 5 star spa!

Very good experience at York Mills spa over the weekend. RMTs provided a very good service and just the right amount of pressure. Really good value for the price - especially their new customer promotions. However, I didn't like that my massage therapist left the room a few times during my treatment. I wouldn't suggest that men who are on the more muscular side go here - they are not as specialized as you'd want and my boyfriend felt that he could have used more pressure and strength in his massage. While I might go back because of the good prices and I felt that the service was good for my body-type, he didn't feel the same. Overall ambiance, cleanliness and experience was very good and I'd suggest to those who are not especially strong/muscular or who do not have particularly bad pain.
