I saw Jeff for a 45 minute session regarding my piriformis muscle and pain. I'm not saying he isn't good at what he does but whatever he did almost made my pain worse. I went to a different massage therapy place 2 weeks later and found that helped much more. I gave 3 stars because I don't know if maybe my experience would have been different with another therapist at this location. The business is very clean and has a nice atmosphere as well.

I haven been going to Alison for years now and happily moved with her over to Richmond Massage Therapy when she opened her own clinic. I run, workout and play sports so I find I have very specific needs when I go to Alison and she is always able to correct my issue whether it's to relieve pain/discomfort or to loosen up some tight muscles. This is why I continue to go back as I feel her treatments are very effective. I also love the location and the decor and cleanliness of the clinic. She is always very professional and genuinely cares about my treatment. I highly recommend this clinic and Alison!

Alison’s knowledge and skills are unlike any other massage therapist I have had, and I am always amazed at how she is able to find and treat problem areas that I wasn’t even aware of. She uses just the right amount of pressure in all the right places, again, that I wouldn’t even know exist. She also tailors your appointment to you (amount of pressure, areas of need) and communicates very well (all of the other RMTs do too - which is key for a client you don’t see regularly to know what they are needing/seeking that day). It is clear how passionate she is about her work and her dedication to her clients, students and colleagues is inspiring. The clinic is beautiful, calming, and quiet. I love my appointments here and always leave feeling so peaceful and relaxed! Thank you for everything you do! ????

Excellent team of individuals here at Richmond Massage Therapy. I actually haven't been to the location, but Alison was my first massage therapist way back in 2008. I've also seen the team at outreach events. Jeff worked on my hip flexors at an endurance event, and because of the tension relief he provided me, I was able to kill the final stint of rowing! Was told it was direct billing. Even mentioned biggiest reason im here is because its direct billing during my massage the therapist laughed & agreed about how nice it is etc then when the Massage was over charged me for it because her direct billing wasnt set up yet. I wont go back.

I am a big supporter of local small business. I shop at the local markets and botique stores around downtown. Small businesses are great for the economy and enrich the culture of London. But, there are great businesses and there are businesses like Richmond Massage Therapy. A business where the level of professionalism you can expect is petty excuses and insulting comments when customers make an honest review with the support of a few close friends. When I first met the owner of this business she was working in someone else's office. After my second or third session she gave me a new business card and asked if I would support her at her new business. I decided it would be a kind thing to do. This was the last time I saw her in person; over a year ago. Since then she has scheduled my appointments with various strangers of varying quality and skill; never very great. Recently I made an appointment which I planned to attend during my lunch break at work. When I arrived the office was closed and the owner did not answer her phone. A while later I received a text message offering an apology and a future appointment free of charge. A while after that the offer was recinded and I was offered a small discount on my next appointment. At this point I was not keen on booking another appointment. A few weeks later I reluctantly decided I would give the business one last try as my back was quite sore. My appointment was booked with yet another stranger. During the appointment I felt like something was off as I was left alone in the room for quite sometime. In my opinion, the massage was awful and it only lasted 20 minutes due to the therapist taking her time mulling around either outside or in the waiting room. When I went to pay I was handed a bill for a full priced 30 minute massage. After a few minutes the bill was renegotiated to nearly $40 when I had previously been robbed of my lunch hour. "I'm surprised that if you were that upset that you decided to rebook." (Direct quote from the owner) This is the level at which "Richmond Massage Therapy" operates. So much for valuing your customers time. I urge anyone who reads this review to NOT support this business. I have previously reviewed this business. After posting my thoughts I received a text from the owner warning me that my comments were "legally persuable". I have decided it is important to post the full story. Response from the owner "Hi Chris I am very sorry that you were unhappy with your experience today. So much so that you felt the need to rate us using 4 seperate names. Jodi informed that yes your massage was 20 minutes instead of the full 30 because you were late arriving to your appointment. It is a common policy of registered massage therapist to not extend the appointment time as a courtesy to the next client coming in that does arrive on time for their appointment. The charge for your appointment today was $37.50. To speak to the allegations you are putting forth regarding marijuana, that is blatantly untrue. It is possible that you were smelling the wintergreen in our biotone muscle and joint massage lotion but truthfully I'm guessing that it not the case and you are just fabricating it based on nothing. But yes, I am sorry that you were unhappy that my therapist shortened your appointment time because you were late. Thank you for your feedback."

Ms. Joan, is amazing! I had a BBL and lipo 360 and I've seen her twice (once a week), since I returned from Miami. She is well versed and knowledgeable in her craft, especially regarding plastic surgery. I had a 2hr massage and it came with a full education of my post procedure up keep. No hype, no upselling just impeccable professionalism and skill. I'm 45, so my recovery isn't as easy as my younger counterparts. She referred me to an amazing alteration lady, Adonai Tailor, in Chesterfield Mall. I saved 100 bucks immediately because Adonai altered my faja instead of me purchasing a 4th faja as I continue to compress. The front desk staff is warm and welcoming.

I can't comment on the quality of the massage since I did not receive one. I arrived 20/25 minutes early for my massage since it was my first time going there. Upon my arrival I was locked outside in the cold since nobody was there yet (10:45 a.m appointment). I finally got ahold of the massage therapist who said she was going to be late and asked me to reschedule. I completely understand that things happen but I would have appreciated if she could have called me to let me know she was running late. Standing outside in the freezing cold could have been completely avoided with just a bit of communication. If you have an appointment in the morning, I would recommend calling ahead to make sure they are open.
