Mercadeas was simply amazing !! I have been dealing with some serious back shoulder and neck pain over the years and have had massages at different places including in Thailand ( known for their thai massages). I was in edmonton for work and decided to check out this place. To be honest my expectations were pretty low as massage therapy hasn't helped me much in the past years. I had had the immense pleasure of meeting Mercadeas Bettschen and I really wanted to take some time to let everyone know how amazing she s at what she does. I only got to see her twice in the week i was in edmonton but it made such a BIG difference. She was so focused and bang on on the areas that I had issues with and I felt better right away. If you re dealing with pain or looking for some deep tissue massage, go to this place !!!

I found The Massage Shop on the Internet and saw that they offered a Student Massge therapist at an excellent rate, so I went ahead and made a booking. I just had my 7th massage today with the Student "SAM" and I can tell you I am not the same person that walking in the studio's doors 7 weeks ago. I had a lot of pain in my shoulders, arm, neck and back and today I feel for the first time in 10 years that there is hope to have a very good recovery!! Of course I had a few treatments with Physio and he commented that the massage makes his job easier!! So with this help and my home exercise program things are looking much brighter!! Thank you Sam for your efforts and care! I find Sam is very knowledgeable, his skills and techniques are professional and he is a very personable person!! I will continue to see Sam to assist in the healing of many aches and pains!! $40.00 for 1 hr Student massage and $60.00 for 90 minutes!! Give yourself a wonderful treat!! Five Star *****

I have gotten a few massages with Sam and he is awesome, I have a lot of upper neck and back pain due to my TMJ and working with him had greatly reduced my pain levels. I would recommend him as a massage therapist to anyone who suffers from chronic pain due to muscle tightness or fatigue.

I bough a half an hour massage as a gift for my partner and paid in beforehand. On the day of my partner was pulled over, and I called in advance asking about their policies. They told me simply to hurry. My partner was 13 minutes late and the therapist called me to ask to rebook. I asked if my partner could rebook and she agreed. 5 minutes later I got a text from my partner saying they didn't take him (which I already knew) and that he didn't choose to rebook yet, saying he wanted to talk to me first. Then 1. I called and asked if there were student massages available (Seeing two for 3:30 and two for 3:45 (which was in about 10-20 minutes from when called) listed on the online booking system) I was told these were not the same as my original appointment, and THEN that they were not available at all. I asked to speak to a manager, and they said she was busy with clients. 2. I called later to rebook for the following week, and was informed about a cancellation fee being applied. I said was told I could rebook and the therapist mentioned no cancellation fee. I asked to speak to a manager again as I was getting frustrated and wanted some clarity as to policy and I was then told the manager was not working that day at all. I asked to have the manager contact me, as this discrepancy bothered me. 3. When the manager contacted me, she told me her staff had told her I had swore at them over the phone, and that my partner had been rude in the store to staff. I told her that was incorrect. I told her I had received other conflicting information and that I was sensing dishonesty, in my opinion, and that I'd like to work out all of the information. I can fully admit to a non-angry frustration at the situation which lead to my voice trembling some as I spoke. I manage staff at my business, and if I was told by them that a customer swore at them, but that the customer wanted to talk to me. I wouldn't call the customer and accuse them of swearing. I love and believe my staff but that's not a wise way to conduct business. The conversation consisted mostly of the manager telling me my concerns were unfounded, that she had no control over the cancellation fee somehow, but that she would call me back after she had talked to the therapist. She also repeated multiple times that I could rebook my appointment without issue. 4. I called the store and rebooked my appointment. 5. Five business days later I had received no call back from that manager, and I sent an email asking if we could sort out the cancellation fee before my booking, as it was a gift and I didn't want the recipient to have to pay--I'd like to be called to pay instead. 6. On the day of my appointment (7 days later) I received a call from the manager. And the first thing she said was a criticism: I should not have booked as she expressly told me to wait for her to call me back (false), and that since I had rebooked she then assumed I didn't want her to call me back. She did ultimately apologise for that misunderstanding but the fact remains that she called me just to criticize me for not properly following her apparent instructions. She told me I had two choices, pay the cancellation fee. And then she paused, waiting for me to answer. And I said "you mentioned two choices". And then she offered to refund the payment, less the cancellation fee. She seemed flustered because she didn't know which way to offer the refund, asking me to come in to the store to receive cash, or refund to my card in person, or even receive a cheque. I certainly was not going to take a cheque. She also belittled me repeatedly through the conversation telling me I had "Spiraled" and caused all these "Emotional issues" for her staff that she didn't want to deal with. I got my partial refund. Don't pay in advance. And don't make the mistake of asking for clarification on policy (even if you're willing to pay from the very beginning) , because they'll lie, and try to paint you the villain. Good massages I've heard. Horrible communication abilities.

Need a relaxing soothing massage that will shut off your brain and put you to sleep? Ask for Jen! Want the Bobbi-Jen hybrid well look no further Shelby is you girl (and my go to!) she’s mastered that fine balance between pressure and relaxation, PLUS SHE DOES CUPPING! I’d highly recommend it if you haven’t tried it. This place is great, takes bookings online and is conveniently located downtown so you can pop over on your lunch break.

Well, I had serious back and neck issues in my life and know very well how a qualified therapist should be. I visited this place upon three nights without real sleep due to severe neck and hand pain and can say in a very confident way that Amber (with all due thanks) is one of the most qualified therapists I met in my life. Brittany was amazing. She really knew pressure points and had a very sweet demeanour. I had a baby a few months ago and suffer with lots of hip pain. They feel so much better after a 75 min massage. Only thing I didn’t like was I had to find parking, but it’s downtown and not their fault. Worth paying parking to see her again !

Great massage!! I saw Bobbi who knew exactly which areas needed work on and listened to what I requested. The pressure was intense but what I expected and needed from a deep tissue massage. She made sure to ask if the pressure was ever too much. My boyfriend saw Jennifer for a relaxation massage and came out feeling so good! The atmosphere was welcoming and zen. Would recommend and come back again :)
