I have been having siatica pain and muscle spasms for a cpl months now, from what the drs think is a bulged disc. It is just starting to heal & I went in for some relief with lower back pain/tension in the right quadrant and poor posture...Probably the worst massage I've ever had, didn't warm up the area where I said my pain and tension was with soft tissue massage around the area ..Just went straight to it with full pressure, barely worked on the adjacent muscles, connective tissue and trigger points , instead was pushing on bone thinking it was a trigger point in my lower back (im guessing) . And it's so sore to even touch there now..it's actually aching in that spot as we speak., and I feel worse then when I went in with aches/pains in new areas :(
Not to mention he doesn't let you know that if it's your first visit the $100 for a "60min massage" is actually only 25 min or so and the first half is instead spent with him one finger-typing away answers on the computer, eventho I just filled out a comprehensive chart before that with the important questions and explained my pain fully and the cause etc.
Ive had massages all over the world so have lots to compare it to, he did say he has more of a clinical approach, so mayb that's why I'm not satisfied , but I didn't feel confident in the techniques . At no point did it ever feel good/satisfying/relaxing..however others may have thought differently. I'm sorry to give a poor review as he did seem like an ok guy and works from home for his family, but it's my honest opinion & I think ppl should at least know about the first visit being $100 for half hr massage and half hr questions. Mayb some workshops to expand skills even more would be helpful, good RMTs are always looking at what they can do to expand and perfect past and new techniques & this should be a top priority.
