After trying both physiotherapy and massage therapy for sciatic pain with disappointing results, I tried acupuncture. And I just recently finished five acupuncture treatments with Demi Palmer at Equilibrium. Demi is a gentle, skilled practitioner. She demonstrated compassion toward me and interest in my problem. But perhaps most importantly, the treatments work. Demi encouraged me to set a goal at the beginning of our treatment (half-an-hour of pain-free walking) and I have surpassed that goal. She explained everything fully, asked questions of me to determine treatment, and answered all of my questions. She even provided follow up emails twice--once after a session that ended up triggering strong emotions. She just wanted to check out how I was feeling. She is genuinely kind. I was surprised at how much I love acupuncture. Although there is some discomfort involved, overall the needling sensations are delicious and lying on the heated bed is very relaxing. I walk away feeling that healing has taken place. I highly recommend Demi and Equilibrium (the front desk staff are friendly and helpful). I had an extremely positive experience.

Out of the several chiropractors I've seen, Dr. Bijman is definitely the best. He is very thorough in his approach and is very much a people person/easy to talk to. He truly cares about each individual and what's going on in their lives - he understands all realms of health, not just in the physical sense. I've been going to Equilibrium for a little while for chronic pain, and Hannah has been my RMT since the beginning. All of the staff are always friendly and helpful, booking appointments is super easy, and the prices are quite reasonable. I've never had a service with another RMT here, but Hannah has been amazing. She's super friendly, knowledgeable, and always in a good mood and just a genuine super person. She always has a big smile on and greets you warmly. I can't recommend her enough! She works magic on perpetually sore and exhausted muscles, and has been a huge help in treating my pain. Definitely worthy a 5-start review.

I booked a massage because I had been experiencing a lot of pain and tension in a specific area which I had clearly conveyed to the therapist but at no point during the appointment did they work on this area. I spent a lot of money and was quite disappointed in the result - still very tense.

Marc and the crew at Equilibrium do good, solid work. The initial issue I had with my lower back was solved and incidental issues that followed were additionally handled without issue. With the ongoing pandemic, I've been reluctant to head anywhere unnecessary, so their stringent protocol for sanitation and distancing relieves anxiety about visiting. Compared to other chiropractic clinics I have visited on the island, the pricing is reasonable, and the atmosphere professional. I strongly recommend Equilibrium (and Marc, specifically) to all those who are experiencing trauma with their back.

Well decorated office with personable and helpful staff. Always has a pot of brewed tea for customers to enjoy, as well as some dark chocolates on the desk. Comfortable seating in the waiting room and some of the most delightful massage tables I've come across. If you need heated everything, they have it. The table articulation adds a greater degree of comfort. 10/10 will go again.

The atmosphere at the Tillicum location was very calming. My massage with Sasha Shamriy was excellent. I loved climbing onto a warm table at the beginning of my session. I left feeling relaxed with no tension in my muscles. She listened to everything I said and applied the right amount of pressure. I have already booked another session with her. I can’t say enough about these wonderful, skilled, intentional people! Dr. Bijman worked with me through my work related incident and was the first chiropractor that actually spent more then 45 min taking detailed notes, asking great questions, giving me researched opinions and resources. He was amazing with his care, putting a heat pack on my back to losses my muscles bebore giving me treatment. He also worked with me in the gym to give me specific exercises but not too many, just enough to target my area of need. He also wrote extra reports to support my WCB claim. I highly recommend him and I do so after having several different chiropractors in Victoria. And I would be silly not to take a moment to recognize the amazing office staff. The ladies at the front are the kind hearted captains of this finely tuned ship. They are authentic to talk with, and amazing with paperwork, follow up emails, and phone calls. The place wouldn’t run the same without them. (And they always made sure the place was looking like a rest haven and the Silk Road tea was ready for you when you got there!) Amazing!

I've had experience with other chiropractors from a previous spinal injury that I had... And while they were ok, the improvements from the chiro treatments themselves were minimal. This time, over the course of three weeks and four treatments, I went from off work and barely functioning, to pretty close to being back at 100%. Highly recommend Dr. Marc and Equilibrium.

Glen Timms gives the best massage you will ever receive! I have been to many massage therapists over the years and I have finally found the best and I won’t go to anyone else! It starts with the warm massage table and the relaxing music. Then the perfect pressure and it feels like there is more than one set of hands.
